It's true, you do have a very high chance of spotting dolphins here. They love to hunt at the mouth of the river Dee and often play with the boats entering or leaving the harbour.

Public Transport

Tern Cabin is located off the main coast road from Aberdeen to Peterhead. The X63 bus service stops 100m from the cabin.
What to pack

Weather Awareness

NE Scotland is beautiful but often windy. It's wise to take warm weather clothing. If swimming's your thing there are many beautiful beaches but a wetsuit is advised for any who are not of the ultra brave persuasion.
Useful phrases

Doric

Aberdeenshire is a redoubt of the doric dialect. Some useful pointers: Fit Like? - How are you? Nae bad - Normal response (actually a very high form of praise in the doric) :) Louns - Boys Quines - Girls There's also a wide repertoire of local names which usually bear very little likeness to their name as stated in common everyday Engilsh. Gamrie - Gardenstown, beautiful hillside village about 45 minutes drive. The Broch - Fraserburgh
