Food scene

Green Lantern is a local fave. Everett cooks up a great selection and the staff are just plain friendly. This is a small beach town, so remember that things take time, make friends, and enjoy the experience.

Clamming

If you’d like to go clamming, make sure to check out the WA Fish and Wildlife website for clam days, beaches, and to make sure marine toxins are low. Head to their website and scroll to “Current Season”: https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfishing-regulations/razor-clams#current . You also need to purchase licenses...available online or the corner store just down the road (across from wood carvers).

Traveler advice

What to pack

Mosquito Repellant

The Woodsy Beach Cottage is located in the woods near the beach...two place mosquitos love. We highly suggest mosquito repellant and anti-itch cream from May-September.

Beach Time

If you’re out and about, remember that you are on beach time. People are super nice, but there isn’t really a rush. If they aren’t “serving” your right away, it’s probably because they’re taking care of someone else that captured their attention first. Being nice will get you everywhere in small communities like ours.
What to pack

Pack for Rain

The Olympic Peninsula is a rain forest and it’s beautiful! But rainforests comes with rain. Make sure to check the weather, and it’s always best to expect a little rain in summer and more in winter. Coastal rains usually come in mists or in short downpours.
