Sightseeing

Some of my favourite places in Canberra
Canberra is the 'bush capital' and just outside the city this nature reserve is great. You can see koalas, emus, even platypus if you're lucky

My pick of all the national cultural institutions: beautiful building, accessible art, interesting and often quirky exhibitions. A good way to get to know Australian people.

The main path starts from behind the Australian War Memorial. Takes about 45 minutes to reach the top and it's well worth it because you can get a sense of the Griffins' geometric plan for the city around its ornamental lake. (I say get a sense of because the plan wasn't fully implemented.)
