Petronas Twin Towers in KLCC were the tallest buildings in the world from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2004. Currently, it still holds the record for the tallest twin buildings in the world. The 88-storey towers were built using mostly reinforced concrete, with steel-and-glass facades to resemble Islamic motifs which were intended to reflect the official and majority religion of Malaysia. KLCC attractions are plentiful as this is where several of Kuala Lumpur’s significant and prominent landmarks are found. Plus, the area can be explored on foot or public transportation. With a soaring height of 452 metres, the crown jewel of KL is undoubtedly the architectural masterpiece that is the Petronas Twin Towers. Ideal for travelling families, there are plenty of kid-friendly attractions such as KLCC Park (which houses a public swimming pool for kids, water fountains, cascades and reflecting pools), the interactive science discovery centre, Petrosains, Malaysia’s first dedicated Classical music concert hall, and Aquaria KLCC.
