Several hiking trails, from easy to difficult. Either way, enjoy a picnic by Lake Washington. Swim or just enjoy the beautiful view of Seattle.

We moved to Seattle to enjoy the water and the seafood. You will have both by going to Pike Place. In addition you get to see the Gum Wall, the french bakery, very good coffee shop, the first Starbuck's store, and so many more. There is a bus from Kirkland, its a 35 minuets ride or drive there and enjoy downtown Seattle shopping and dining experience.

A trip to Seattle is not complete without a trip to one of the islands. Take a ferry from Edmonds to Whidbey Island. Enjoy the ride and head to Langley, a small town with lots of charm. If you come in spring, there is a TULIP festival close by. Its similar to Keukenhof garden in the Netherlands. Smaller scale, less commercial, and seasonal (April/May only).

This is a perfect place to enjoy very good food with a view. You can enjoy the view of Lake Washington and see Seattle from the East side. Happy hour is amazing, but overall we have never been disappointed with the menu.

Downtown Kirkland is a very nice place with cute stores, very good restaurants, and Lake Washington. Our favorite places are Isarn Thai, Alanya Cafe, and Anthony's. I also like the interior stores on Park Lane. I love the Americano coffee at the French bakery.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant; they have lunch specials and the protions are big. They serve homemade tortila chips, blackbean (and garlic..yummy) , and salsa. Bonus: servers are very nice.
