Sightseeing

So many ways to explore Dunedin. From boats on the harbour, wildlife guided tours, motorbike, private car or walking.
Albatross colony tours or just visit the great info centre and if it’s a windy day, maybe see Albatross flying from the car park. Many other wildlife and scenic places of interest on the peninsula. Great for a day trip.

Ecosanctuary in cloud forest. On clear days the views are stunning. Good info centre and an onsite cafe, and walk trails in the native bush and watch and listen to the birds.

Lovely walks thru the upper rhododendron gardens in spring, blossom and heavily under planted. Established rose gardens in bottom gardens, plus greenhouse collection and a pond to feed ducks. Large terraced hillside with alpines.

Beach at the end of this road - fabulous. At low tide walk along to the promontory and up to the old site of Moputahi Pa. Amazing views.
