This is a traditional Scottish Bothy that dates from early 1700's.It is a self contained "wee house" that has been modernised. 1 double bed 1 sofa bed with shower/wc. No cooking facilities but tea /coffee provided. Breakfast provided by arrangement at a small additional charge.
Built around 1700 as a Drovers Bothy it has been refurbished and retains the upstairs loft which houses a double bed downstairs we have a double sofa bed. It is the only original Bothy of its type in the village and offers an insight as to how what living was like in the days of Outlander! Although there are a few more home comforts on offer now!
Kippen is a small village just 9 miles from Stirling and 12 miles from Loch Lomond with stunning views of the Trossachs. It is a fantastic location for walkers as well for mountain biking and road cycling. There is quality fishing nearby at the Lake of Menteith where the World Championships were held a few years back. Until the 1960's it was the home of the largest grapevine in the world! Kippen is currently listed in the Sunday Times top 20 villages in the UK to live... so you might want to stay! Kippen is blessed with two stunning award winning pub restaurants (URL HIDDEN) and the (URL HIDDEN) We have a hairdresser, post office / genral store/ butcher and deli/ coffee bar in the village. We also have craft brewery based at the old railway station called the Fallen Brewery.
  • This Bothy was our first (great) experience using BnB and a good start of our road trip. Everything was clean and Paul was there to welcome us. There was a nice little Pub in town as well.

    Bart2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute gorgeous hidden gem. If you're looking for a beautiful retreat in a tiny wee bothy, this will do the trick!

    Jo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy Bothy in a friendly village with two splendid pubs. what else do you need. Myself and my brother had a brief stop over enroute from Skye to Edinburgh and had some fine local ale and loch lomond whisky at the cross keys pub. practically -all was as listed - Comfy bed and comfy sofa bed with nice bedlinen. the bed in the roof space has restricted height but is very cosy. There are no cooking facilities but a kettle and a fridge. and you can get a traditional breakfast with the hosts to sort you out for the day ahead and then supper in the village.(we did neither as we were off early in the morning so cannot give any review on that.) Be sure to read the directions to the Bothy as down a lane off one of the main roads and it is easier getting there in the daylight. (I didn't and then couldn't get a signal for contact details so just had to go to the shop and ask in there. ) The shop and the two pubs are nearby and the shop stays open till 7pm . There is no real signal downstairs in the Bothy but there is up the stairs where the bed is. & no tv but board games and books to read. .. a good spot for exploring the area.

    Elise2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little house very close to the centre of the village. Paul was great and on hand to help, lots of guides and maps in the house for local walks and opening times for the pubs and cafe. Would definitely recommend.

    Laura2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and quiet, very warm, close to local pubs and walks.

    Barnaby2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay in a lovely village! We were only stopping off for a night on our way further north but would love to come back and explore this area further, would definitely stay in the bothy again. Delicious breakfast and very friendly and helpful hosts. The Cross Keys is a fantastic little pub and everyone is very dog friendly!

    Rebecca2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot highly recommended

  • We had a great weekend at the Coach House. A lovely place to spend the weekend and the hot tub was bliss!

    Aoife2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • To think that this magical gem of a hideway is only 50 minutes from Glasgow (the city where we live) is unbelievable. The cottage is cosy and 5 star luxury. The hot tub nestled amongst the trees overlooking the river is perfect. We came in mid winter and the fairy lights and fire made it feel like Spring! Helen and her family are incredible hosts, warm and friendly and we even were offered a horse riding lesson. Thank you thank you! We will be back. An amazing stay.

    Ruth2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an extremely relaxing three nights away at Helen's place and we would definitely go back.

    Jim2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had the perfect stay at Helens Cottage. Autumn was definitely a beautiful time to visit with all the orange leaves. I would absolutely love to go back. The beautiful surroundings and with the games room and hot tub would make it the perfect retreat to go to with a bunch of friends also.

    Fiona2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay- exceptional hospitality and amazing facilities- spent most of the weekend either in the hot-tub or games room!

    Alan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful people (and animals) in a beautiful location. We loved it! Collecting conkers, playing in the hot tub and feeding the ponies apples. Lots of fabulous sight seeing so close by, the location is super! So peaceful but so close to the town for shopping and visits. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Great place and location!

    Andrew2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This flat was a little hard to find on Google but the instructions from the host were great. The flat is in a good location. A 15 minute walk to the train or bus station and 20 minutesto the castle. It was so handy! The flat was clean and well appointed and quiet at night despite being close to main streets. We highly recommend taking the bus out to Doune castle while in Stirling. Delightful stay, thank you.

    Neil2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, in a equally beautiful neighborhood, Ayman is a really caring host and did everything he could to help us have a good time in Stirling, the house itself is really spatious and comfortable.

    Emilio2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ayman is a perfect host - very kind and answering every question quickly. room was quiet with a beautiful view.

    Brigitte2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ayman is so Kindle ! The house and the neigborhood are wonderfull ! Perfect to stare a visit in stirling ! The view is magic ! castle and wallace monumet in the same windows !

    Maura2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great Hosts, perfect location... We stayed here during a walking tour. We were even walked to the starting point of our walk the following day. The rooms were very clean, and well appointed... We highly recommend staying here...

    Albert2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb: a Victorian neighbourhood of grand mansions overlooking a magnificent landscape and city. The room is comfortable and Ayman a gracious host who readily accepted our special requests. Highly recommended!

    Adrian2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ayman's home is an amazing place. From the window of our room you could see the William Wallace Monument. Excellent location for those who have to go to the University of Stirling. Ayman was very attentive with my wife and me. One day he took us to the city of Stirling and the last day we left his house he took us to the train station. Thank you very much for all your attention Ayman. I do not hesitate to recommend Ayman's home to stay and know how wonderful Scotland is.

    Marco A.2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The home is lovely, clean with comfortable beds and spacious parking. Ample toiletries were available. Ayman was communicative without being intrusive and was flexible regarding our needs (e.g., he offered to share breakfast with him in the morning, or provide a tray in the room). Ayman went out of his way to help us in any way possible. When I inquired about the location of a bank as I needed to exchange some obsolete currency, he offered to exchange the money right there and then he would do the exchange at the bank himself. He was available for suggestions for touring etc. Whether you prefer conversation or freedom and autonomy, you will find it at Ayman’s place. We would not hesitate to return!

This traditional flat in a city centre townhouse was originally built in 1800, but has been updated for modern day living, whilst still keeping a traditional feel. It has been newly renovated. In easy walking distance to Castle and Old Jail (5 minutes) It is a lovely place to stay right in the city centre with everything to settle in and cook at home, or walk out the front door and be in a variety of shops, bars and restaurants in minutes. It is clean and comfortable.
Lounge room and kitchen with cooker and a good selection of cooking utensils, the bedroom has a Kingsize bed. The bathroom has a good strong shower.
  • This little flat is ideal for a couple who want to explore Stirling. Large comfy bedroom, a comfortable living area with good dining table for 2. The kitchen had all the essentials and teabags. There was soap, shampoo and shower gels in the bathroom and the shower nice and hot. Wi-Fi worked well and the temperature controls very easy to use (It was chilly outside but the flat nice and warm!). Parking available too. Would definitely recommend and stay again next time I'm in Stirling.

  • This cottage is superbly located to explore western highlands, trossachs and various lochs including loch lomond. Stirling is less than ten miles away and major centres like Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth can be reached within an hour or so. There are nice waterfalls, farms, scenic spots and drive and pretty villages - all just a short drive away. We did the three loch drive, walked in the bog, spent an afternoon at daroch falls, drove till ben nevis, took land train to stirling castle... The cottage itself looks much better than the pictures and is surprisingly spacious and set in a quiet and very private spot in the village. It does not offer exotic views of scotland out of its windows, but considering its very reasonable pricing and strategic location it was great value for money. It is at one end of the village, so you can choose to step out for a walk into the countryside or into the village in a couple of minutes - offering the best of both worlds. Peter and Heather were generous and thoughtful hosts. Despite us talking two days to reach (due to various mishaps along the way) they were equally accommodating. I was worried that they were preparing their very generous welcome pack with fresh milk, bread, garden eggs and homemade lemon drizzle cake for us each day and must be getting disappointed on us not arriving. Their communication throughout was excellent and after an initial tour they retreated into background while sorting things out for us as and when we needed help. They even put our recycling in the right bins in middle of night when we got terribly confused about various colour coded bins in Stirling. Overall excellent hospitality. This cottage is excellent value for money and we had a terrific stay. We usually do not return to the same cottage in future but this one we definitely will as it left us wanting for more.

    Himanshu2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We can thoroughly recommend Heather and Peter as hosts in this beautiful holiday home. Attention to detail was second to none, it had absolutely everything we needed. The location for us was fantastic, close to Edinburgh and Glasgow with plenty to see in between. Heather left us a starter basket which was very much appreciated and her home baked lemon drizzle cake was amazing.

    Fran2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place is a great place to stay and very comfortable. easy to get to the Trossachs and Callender

    Beryl2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts, a lovely welcome with lots of useful tips and a generous 'welcome pack' of goodies, and a home that was clean, well supplied with amenities, superb shower and comfortable beds, plenty of space for five, all situated in a very convenient spot to explore the Trossachs and nearby towns/cities.

    Roger2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • outstanding hospitality, excellent welcome pack and the house and surrounding area is beautifull think lake district but without the crowds

    Timothy2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing property for family of 4 (2 boys aged 8 and 10). It had everything you could possibly think of for the perfect holiday. The personal touches by Heather and her family made us feel like vips from the attention to detail in the house to the extra services like bringing in the washing when it was raining when we were out for the day. Would recommend it to everyone looking for a home from home!

    S2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week in Thornhill. The bungalow is in a quiet spot set back from the road at the edge of the village. It is spacious and well equipped and had everything we needed for a family of five, with masses of storage space. The village shop is two minutes walk away. The location turned out to be very convenient, allowing us to visit relatives and also enjoy the wealth of interesting things to do close by. We walked out from Callander and Aberfoyle, took the boat trip to Inchmahome Priory on Lake Menteith and got a dose of medieval history at Doune Castle. Georgie (9) was delighted that we managed to get to Blair Drummond Safari Park - the Birds of Prey show was outstanding. These were all within easy reach of Thornhill and we didn't have to spend too much time driving about - which was a bonus, having driven up from Berkshire. Many thanks to our excellent hosts Peter and Heather for their friendly welcome and all the 'extra' touches - special mention must go to the giant home-made carrot cake which we all enjoyed! Matt and Annett welcome you to The Wee Hoose probably Scotland's smallest holiday home. Down a wee lane off the Main Street, you will find a charming cottage: one bedroom, open plan lounge/kitchen with feature wall and bathroom with shower. Callander is a vibrant town in the heart of the Trossachs National Park, indeed, right in the heart of Scotland. We do welcome pets also, but please note the Wee Hoose has NO garden, however, there are plenty of beautiful walks right on your doorstep.
    single travellers
Callander is a vibrant town with loads to do; walking and hillwalking, cycling (for cycle hire try Wheelology off the main square), canoeing on the Teith, eating out etc. For a rainy day, there is McLaren leisure complex with indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym, indoor climbing wall and facitilies for badminton and table tennis, as well as toddler soft play area.
  • Great stay at Matthias’ house ! Very good suggestions for walks and restaurants. We’ll probably go again !

  • The Wee Hoose is perfect for one person or a couple. We found it clean, warm and with all the little extras to make for a good holiday. The folder containing details of walks was really useful. The property is quiet, yet is surrounded by cafes, pubs, shops, walks and beautiful countryside.

  • One of the best places I have lived at. Warm, cosy, easy to find and hard to forget. Spotless and generous in items that can come in handy. Fast internet. A bit pricy but located at a very quiet and safe neighbourhood. Close to the University and a walking distance from the nearest train station. I recommend this apartment without any hesitation.

  • Our time in Scotland was made perfect by staying in this adorable, perfectly located apartment. We LOVED the Bridge of Allan community and how accessible everything was from this location; train, bus, walk to Stirling University and Town Center. We would highly recommend others stay here as well. The apartment was a perfect size for 2. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need to prepare a meal and it was awesome to have a washer and dryer!

Mandi had nice touches like tea in the room and some snacks. I had everything I needed and Mandi was chatty and suggested great things to check out in the area. I would definitely stay again.

Cosy log cabins beside the Lake of Menteith THE SPACE Bedrooms 2 Sleeps 4 Bathrooms 1 Free WiFi, not suitable for streaming Bluetooth speaker
DESCRIPTION We have 10 Log Cabins forming a pretty crescent parallel to the shore, roughly 75 meters back from the water. This ensures that once in your cabin, the view from the large, glass sliding-doors is filled entirely with lawn, trees and lake – rather than the back of another cabin. All Log Cabins are separated by a trellis and flower beds around a paved patio with outdoor seating – perfect for that first cup of coffee as the sun hits the lake, or for long summer evenings watching the sun sink over the Menteith Hills. KITCHEN All Log Cabins have views from the kitchen towards the lake, and are supplied with a full-sized cooker with hob grill and oven, a fridge with freezer box, a microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, scales, and all the utensils you need. Click here for a full inventory. LIVING / DINING AREA The living/dining area in the Log Cabins is all open-plan, with leather sofas, large flat-screen TV, DVD player, Anker Bluetooth speaker and electric stove heater. Dining tables are right beside large, glass sliding doors, with some of the best breakfast views of any holiday accommodation in the Trossachs! Ducks are always on hand to help you with any leftovers. BEDROOMS All Log Cabins sleep 4 in a double room and a twin room. In addition, two of the cabins also have double futons in the living area, and are therefore equipped for 6 (though 4 is the more comfortable party size). Beds are made up with fresh linen for your arrival. BATHROOMS Log Cabins all have a shower/bath with curved glass screen and Power Shower. PARKING There is space for 1 car at the back of each Log Cabin. LAUNDRY Our Log Cabins share a communal laundry, situated beside the washing line at the back of the Games Room. There is no charge for using the washers and driers, although you can make a donation into the Action Aid box in the laundry for Kutaifa, a Ugandan girl we sponsor. The entrance to the laundry also has a Weekly Wildlife information board, where guests can add to a what-and-where list of wildlife spotted during the week. WHAT’S INCLUDED Bed linen, towels, tea towels, eco cleaning products, starter pack is all included in the price of your stay. Also on arrival, you will find fair-trade tea, coffee and sugar in your accommodation, as well as salt, pepper, milk and Tunnock’s teacakes and wafers. WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED Everything in the Log Cabins runs on electricity, which is charged at cost; on weekly lets the first £5 is included. An optional ‘End of Stay Clean’ for a Log Cabin costs £25; an optional ‘Mid Week Tidy’ costs £18. IN BRIEF 1 double with kingsize duvet, 1 twin; 1 shower/bath; dishwasher, washer/dryer; Freeview, DVD-player, Anker bluetooth speaker; free Wifi; patio furniture. Bed linen and towels included; cots, high-chairs, BBQ free on request.
The Lake of Menteith is the ONLY lake in Scotland (all other inland waters are called Lochs). Menteith is on the highland fault line so the landscape is a unique mixture of highland and lowland. Most lochs are the waters between 2 mountains. The Lake of Menteith has mountains to the north and flat carse land to the south.
  • Lovely cabin and very friendly hosts

  • What a find! Short stay in No 10 log cabin which was warm, comfortable and met all our requirements. The cabin was very clean and neat, kitchen & bathroom well equipped and the bed very comfortable. I attended the Nick Nairn Cook School (50 mtr stroll away) whilst my husband drove over to join me for the couple of nights booked. Plenty to see and do in this beautiful part of Scotland, our only regret was not spending longer on this trip. On a positive note, having found this wee gem, we’ll return for longer next time and make the most of the facilities and the stunning surrounding countryside. Thanks Victoria for being so welcoming and accommodating!

  • Clean and comfortable cabin with great views, friendly and helpful host as well! No complaints here! Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

  • My parents had to change the date of their holiday and Christopher was great at accommodating our new plans, regardless of difficulties expected with rebooking on airbnb system. The lodge was just as expected and served as a great base for a few days in Trossachs.

  • Lochend Chalets is a hidden gem! We stayed 2 nights in the Log Cabin. It was spacious, very clean with a gorgeous view of the lake from the dining area. Convenient location 20 minutes from Callander, set just by the lake admist rolling farms. Weather on the 1st day was gorgeous and we had the most amazing evening sipping wine by the lake watching the sunset. The kitchen was fully equipped and it was easy to whip up dinner and relax withn bottle of wine. We would love to return sometime soon with the family. We highly recommend Lochend Chalets!

    Michael2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Superb bed (a must for me), 50 yards from the lake with stunning scenery and all we wanted for a perfect trip. We’d highly recommend this place. Topher and Chris were very welcoming and then left us to ourselves. We wanted for nothing when there. A cute pizzeria on site and the lake hotel is a must for an early sunset dinner. We’ll definitely be back.

The Stables is set in the grounds of Corshill Cottage which has extensive garden grounds. It has outdoor seating and car parking. The apartment is ideal open plan living for couples or young families. The bedroom area is in a galleried area (open on one side) above the open plan living area. A mile from Thornhill and only 10 minutes drive to either Stirling or Callander. A car is recommended.
  • Lovely cosy apartment with great kitchen, easy parking, close to Stirling and the Trossachs walks and Lochs. Nice bath to use if feeling like a soak (with hand-held shower over the bath only). Stairs to bedroom in loft, with bathroom/toilet downstairs, so not good for some people. Some traffic noise in the bedrooom, but not too bad. Carolyn attended quickly to a small problem that arose with the apartment. Generally a good place to stay.

  • Very quiet and ideal for a relaxing weekend. The cottage looks much better than it does in the photos and it also has a nice garden at the back. A bit tricky to get the property at first as you focus on the road but once you’ve spot it , you can’t miss it the second time. I totally recommend the place for a quiet and relaxing getaway!

My place is close to the city centre. You’ll love my place because of the location, near Stirling Castle. My place is good for solo adventurers, and business travellers.
My house was built in the 1800's and is situated on the hill leading to Stirling Castle and the Wallace monument is nearby, 20 minute walk. Train station 10 minute walk. Shops 5 minute walk.
We live in the oldest part of the city being situated on the hill of the castle and the oldest ale house in Stirling 1733 is also on our street.

  • I only spent one night here and left early the next day, so I didn't get see much of Jenny. But she was very kind and helpful, volunteering helpful info about getting a train to Edinburgh. The room was comfortable and spacious, with a mini fridge and hot water pot. Jenny also thoughtfully provided some fruit, milk, and breakfast cereals. Be aware, there are two dogs who are very sweet, but one is quite ... energetic? Anyway, there was a lot of yipping and running around outside my door late at night. I am a sound sleeper so this did not bother me, but if you are not, it is something to be aware of. But overall, would recommend!

  • This is a really good set up, nice room in a nice apartment, right in the center of town. Alexia is very friendly and helpful and quick to respond if you need anything. The kitchen is well equipped, and everything is very clean. The only downside is it can be noisy outside until the early hours since you are in the center of town, but that would not dissuade me from staying again. Great price, would definitely recommend!

  • Great location - town centre - a short walk from the train station. It does mean it can be a bit noisy at times - but wasn't too bad (and you expect that in a town centre). Great facilities - most of it looked brand new. You picked the keys up at a nearby hostel, so that was really flexible in terms of timing. Very good value.

A beautiful victorian house on the edge of a lovely village amid the stunning countryside of the Trossachs near Loch Lomond. The guest room is a large family sized room with DVDs and books, maps etc and desk. Bright and cheerful decor and views of the countryside from every window. Tea and coffee making facilities. A continental breakfast will be served in the morning including homemade sourdough bread and jams!... Solo travellers and well behaved dogs are welcome.
This is a large upper flat with shared bathroom and living area. Arty and colourful would be an accurate description of this interesting and homely house. There's also a lovely big garden to play in or eat outside. Please be aware that I am a light smoker and will smoke in my rooms occasionally. The house is well ventilated so this hopefully won't affect your stay here.
In the village there is a traditional pub/ restaurant grocery shop and Tandoori take away food shop plus a gorgeous Pottery and Coffee shop.... well worth a look! This is a beautiful area for walking, cycling or generally enjoying the countryside. With Loch Lomond and The Trossachs on our doorstep. Very central for visiting cities like Stirling (20 minutes by car) Glasgow (40mins) Edinburgh and Perth only an hours drive away. Likewise Glw and Edinburgh airport less than an hour away. Public transport via buses from all Stirling to Glasgow goes through the village regularly.

Welcome to our Cabin on the Loch. Our custom built cabin on stilts over the pristine Loch Venachar. Situated in the heart of the Trossachs, not far from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. It is a totally private secret escape. This is truly a place to relax and to get away from it all. Just sit on the deck, or take a stroll along the banks of the Loch. The cabin sleeps 2 people and is totally private. A wonderful location for fishing, walking and cycling, (or just chilling).
The Cabin includes bi-fold doors that open to a spectacular view over the Loch and on to the beautiful mountains of Ben Venue, Ben Ledi of The Trossachs range. In the summer there is a daily visit from our red squirrels, and if you keep a close eye out, you'll catch sight of the Ospreys and Eagles. The variety of birds, both woodland and water, is vast and delightful.
The Cabin is in a woodland estate with walking tracks and cycle tracks for all fitness levels.

  • Our stay at Thornhill Cottage was amazing! Carolyn is a very kind, thoughtful and helpful host. The house was everything we wanted and more. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The house was so clean and inviting. The location was great for us, we were about a 45 min drive from Glasgow and that was perfect for us, we could enjoy the city but leave the chaos behind at the end of the day. I simply cannot say enough good things about our time there, the only bad thing I can think of is that our time there was too short.

    Joel2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Carolyn’s place. It was very clean and stylish with plenty of room for our party of 5 adults. We enjoyed meeting Carolyn and the breakfast items she provided for us. The location was perfect for exploring Stirling and Falkirk as well as further trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow. There is a small store and a restaurant in walking distance.

The cottage has everything you could need. We especially liked that it was just two doors down from the lovely village pub, which served good beers and was very dog friendly. Thank you!

Lovely location with easy access to motorway links at Stirling. Followed hosts instruction and had a nice 45 min stroll with the dogs around the vicinity of the village. Handy pub and shop on your doorstep. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, and with helpful breakfast supplies and milk provided. Great communication with host June at all times. Highly recommended

Our cosy garden cottage with bedsit, kitchen-diner and log-stove is the ideal base for exploring the Trossachs/Loch Lomond, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Located in scenic, rural Kippen, we are a 5 minute walk from shops, deli, cafe and an award winning gastro-pub! The village was listed as on of the 20 best villages in Britain in the The Times newspaper (March 13 2017) .
Dalveen Garden Cottage is a lovely ground floor apartment. Large french windows provide lots of natural light in this well-insulated, converted out -building, that dates from the 1920s. The cottage is very warm and cosy being connected to a biomass supplied central heating and having a log stove in the bed-sitting room itself. A spacious kitchen-diner allows you to prepare your own food. The cottage is located in extensive gardens, next to the owner's house. Dimensions: Bed-sit: 6.50m x 2.90m Kitchen-diner: 4.90m x 2.90m Bathroom: 2.90m x 1.50m The Bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet & small sink.

Its situated on the border of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park and has easy access to all sorts of outdoors activities within a short drive. Alternatively there are many scenic walks within the village and environs. Kippen is a real community with an award winning busy gastropub that attract locals and customers from outside the village alike. We have also become a bit of a foodie hub with a deli/coffee shop in the village (Rhubarb and Lime) and the Woodhouse coffee and farm shop & award winning family butcher on the edge of the village. Additionally we have a post office/general store in the village. The pub stocks a range of beers including those made by Kippen's own micro brewery - Fallen brewery. • Warm, cosy, clean and very comfortable with thoughtful extras provided. This little cottage is just a delight and we loved that there was a vase of flowers on the table, home grown apples, coffee plunger if anyone needed it and much appreciated bottle of milk in the fridge. Plus sweet treats. The beds were comfy and the area so quiet. We enjoyed our tour around the garden and meeting the chickens and lovely dog. Like being on a very small farm really. Dave and Dorrit are delightful people and definitely deserve their reputation as Superhosts. Highly recommended.

  • Dalveen Garden Cottage is a lovely self-contained cottage in a very tranquil and pretty area. The cottage is light and airy but also very warm and cosy. There is an outside seating area that is very secluded and peaceful. It’s an ideal location for walking, relaxing or exploring by car with an easy drive to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Stirling, Callander, Edinburgh, Glasgow etc. There is even a bus stop very close to the cottage to take you to Stirling where you can connect with other bus and train services. Buzzard is a unique 2 bedroomed barn conversion which retains the original stone walls. Views from the estate are amongst the best in the National Park. We've chosen lush soft furnishings, Scottish accessories and natural colours to compliment your Trossachs experience. An ideal cottage for friends or family to socialise after a day of exploring or hiking in the National Park. The wood burning stove and wood fired hot tub provide the perfect evening ambience.
Buzzard is located on a working hill side farm which offers magnificent views of the Lake of Menteith and the surrounding hillside. The great outdoors can be enjoyed directly from your doorstep from which you can hike into the Menteith hills. Or you can relax in the garden in the summer, enjoying the magnificent views, watching the Highland Cows, playing badminton or having a BBQ. Whatever the weather or season there is always lots to do at Nether Glenny Farm: book the 'off road' farm tour in the Kawasaki mule, relax in the hot tub under a star lit sky or simply relax by the roaring fire in the cottage. Only a few mins drive from the cottage is an award winning restaurant which offers lakeside dining and to compliment that there is a great local taxi service which nips up and down our hill regularly. Alternatively, you might decide to choose something from our delicious ' dine in ' menu: choices range from tasty pizza and salad to our incredibly popular Venison Casserole which could not be any more locally sourced as our venison is literally from our very own hillside. The tourist towns of Aberfoyle and Callander are a few miles away and offer a good selection of restaurants, shops, art galleries, whisky specialist suppliers and excellent visitors centres. There is also quality bike hire, water sports, Go Ape, mountains, lochs and glens all within a few miles. Buzzard is open plan with comfortable lounge and dining area. The underfloor heating and log burner make it very cosy indeed. Upstairs there is a chalet feel to the bedrooms and the rooms are spacious, with one bedroom having a shower room and the other a full bath and walk in shower. If you require more or less space then please ask as we have two other cottages on site. There is an abundance of wildlife to be enjoyed; Buzzards, owls, red deer, Osprey in Summer, not to mention the Highland cows, peacocks, sheep and the Nether Glenny cats, Harris and Tweed, who are a firm favourites amongst our guests. Please note that there is a supplement for the use of the hot tub as it is an optional extra due to the fact that we clean, fill and heat your tub per use and details can be found in the ' other things to not section'.
The cottages are set amidst an 84 hillside estate nestled in the Menteith Hills. You will have stunning views of the hills and Lake of Mentieth from all walks on the estate. Although you have lovely views from the velux bedroom windows and from the downstairs windows, the best of these can be enjoyed from walks on the estate.
  • Wonderful cottage- with everything you need- located in a great spot for exploring the Trossacks, Sterling and surrounding area. Alison and Matthew are accommodating hosts and helped us in various capacities. Definitely recommended, if you are visiting this area of Scotland.

  • Hosts were lovely, cottage felt very quiet and secluded whilst also giving great access to the lochs and amenities. Personal highlight was running in to a highland cow!! Would love to stay again - thank you so much for having us!

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Buzzard Cottage. There were 4 of us in total (5 if you include our 4 legged friend) and felt very comfortable and well catered for. The rooms are lovely and the finishing touches show just how much care and attention has been paid to the decoration and styling of the rooms. Kitchen is fully kitted out and the wood burning fire was a joy (although we did have to get a bit of help in getting it going). Great location with stunning views and lots of friendly cows and sheep who appeared to enjoy keeping an eye on us. Loved our stay and will definitely be coming back!

Nice double bedroom located at the front of the house, furnished with King-sized bed, bed-side tables and wall-mounted TV. Separate bathroom for guest use. Large kitchen and dining area which is available to heat food and make tea and coffee (tea and coffee provided). Fruit, cereal, bread/toast, butter and jam are provided for breakfast. You are free to make use of our living-room and our garden. Our aim is that you have a comfortable and relaxing stay with us.
We are located in Cauldhame on the edge of Kippen village near the Trossachs National Park. This is an excellent area for walking with several hills to climb, large, medium or small. The views are wonderful. The road through Kippen is popular with road cyclists and there are challenging routes from our doorstep for the more experienced cyclist. For those who prefer a more leisurely cycle there are quiet country lanes or woodland trails not too far away. Stirling is 10 miles away, Edinburgh 48 miles and Glasgow 38 miles, making this an ideal base from which to explore these great cities. Loch Lomond is 20 miles away and a 45 minute walk up Conic Hill in Balmaha offers amazing views across this beautiful loch and the surrounding countryside. Many of our guests find us the ideal stopover on their way to/from Fort William (2 hours drive) or the Isle of Skye (4 - 5 hours drive). There are regular sailings throughout the year on Loch Katrine (27 miles/50 minutes drive), where you have the option of sailing in one direction and cycling in the other along the shores of the Loch (bicycles can be hired at Loch Katrine). Other attractions in the area are Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, the Battle of Bannockburn Heritage Centre, Doune Castle (10 minutes drive), Go Ape outdoor adventure centre (Aberfoyle - 40 minutes drive), Blair Drummond Safari Park (10 minutes drive) or one of the local distilleries. In Kippen we have two good local pubs (10 minute walk), which provide a friendly welcome and serve local craft ales and great food (last orders for food 8.45pm). There are also pubs serving food in Gargunnock (5 miles drive) and Fintry (15 minutes drive). A local food store (with post office) and cafe are also available in Kippen during the day. Whether you are a cyclist, a walker or exploring Scotland by car, we will offer you a warm and comfortable welcome.
We love walking and cycling and our location is perfect for both. The area is popular with road cyclists who enjoy the mixture of hills and long flat stretches, interspersed with great cafes along the way. We are close to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow and well placed to take full advantage of all that these great cities and their surrounding areas have to offer.
  • Room in a lovely modern house with a nice lawn, continental breakfast adjusted to your individual preferences (loved the berries and locally resourced eggs), very friendly hosts ready to provide as much info on the area as you need. Free parking outside the house.

  • A real pleasure! Kazz has a lovely, cosy home and we had a comfortable stay. Her communication was excellent throughout and she took the time to make us feel really welcome. Beau the greyhound is also a lovely old boy and very good natured. Although Kazz wasn't able to meet us immediately when we arrived, the check-in information she provided was very clear and easy to follow so we had no trouble letting ourselves in. The house itself is really well situated in Dunblane, right next to the Cathedral. It was lovely to wake up to this view! The guest areas are also nicely laid out within the house, and as private as you want them to be basically - although they connect to shared spaces, Kazz was respectful of our space but also encouraged us to make ourselves at home. We would definitely stay again.

  • Kazz's place is really snug (and very hygge). I loved that we actually had our own little living room. The location across from the cathedral was perfect. Kazz was a very welcoming and easygoing host who attended to our needs, even when we didn't know we had them. I would highly recommend this airbnb.
