Tarrytown Vacation Rentals

Just booked in Tarrytown

This is a gorgeous, newly renovated first floor apartment in a 100+ year old colonial house. The apartment is completely self contained and includes a dedicated parking spot and a patio. My wife and I live in the second floor apartment and are just steps away if you need any help or have questions. The train station, grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops are all a short walk away, less than 5 minutes. It's perfect for couples and business travelers.
This apartment is very clean, hardwood floors throughout, and has everything you need. The bedroom includes a queen size bed, a TV and brand new furniture from IKEA including dresser, closets, chair and desk. The bathroom includes a combination tub/shower and double vanity. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area includes a full range of appliances, a small dining table, and a large sectional for reclining and relaxing. All utilities have been recently upgraded. The apartment is heated/cooled by two mini-splits and you can adjust the temperature in the bedroom and the open area to your comfort. The bathroom floor is toasty warm on cold days thanks to the in-floor heating, and you never have to worry about running out of hot water as the apartment has a dedicated tankless hot water heater.
The apartment is a block away from downtown Pleasantville, where you will find restaurants, bars, grocery stores, delis, coffee shops and the famous Jacob Burns theatre.
  • I have nothing but positive things to say about Les and his apartment offering. My experience was fantastic. Les is communicative, quick to respond, and very hospitable and welcoming. I will be returning and I highly recommend Les's place.

  • Ivone was warm and welcoming, and the description of the listing was very accurate. The house was very clean and well appointed. It would be a very convenient place to stay if you want to visit NYC by train or take day trips upstate.

    R Wayne2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone is so incredibly friendly and welcoming I felt very comfortable the moment I stepped in the house. The neighborhood is very safe and the house is very close to the train. The house is impeccably clean and has great energy. Ivone really made sure that I had everything that I needed without being over the top. I am very happy that I got to stay here. Finally, I'm pretty sure that the bathroom had radiant heat in the floor! It was a nice surprise on the cold mornings.

    Dan2014-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone's place had a very zen, tranquil aesthetic, had lots of plants in it, and smelled nice- I think she uses aromatherapy or something. Ivone was a welcoming, attentive, and flexible host- when she found out that I could not stay for the second day, she immediately refunded the extra day's costs. Also, she was kind enough to drive me around to my interview and to get food, and offered to share organic juices, fruits, yogurt, and brie cheese from her fridge. Overall, a very relaxing, great place to stay.

    Nicole2016-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone was very welcoming and helpful. The listing was very accurate. The neighborhood is safe and beautiful. My husband and I would go for walks everyday! The metro north train to New York City is a 10 min walk away. The home was very clean and I definitely felt like I was at home. I love Ivone's dog Ammo. Great experience! We would definitely stay here again in the future! Thanks Ivone!!

  • Ivone is one of the best airbnb hosts that I've encountered. Her place was just as described and she was very flexible with check in. I definitely recommend

    Gabe2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone's house is near to the train station and it's very convenient. Everywhere in the house is perfectly clean and comfortable. Most important of all for me, a totally stranger in NY, who had never been to U.S, Ivone is so thoughtful and helpful. She gave us so much help and support, like transportation problem, food problem, health problem, traveling suggestions, laundry, ... whatever you can imagine. She is so friendly that you can feel easy to stay at home everytime. I spent a month in her house. It was a fantastic place. I sincerely recommend this house for all of you who want to have a stay in NY. YiHeng Sun 27/12/16

  • Ivone is a great host. Staying here is comfortable and trouble-free. I highly recommend it!

    Simon2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is bright and beautiful, the bedrooms were very comfortable. The location is a quiet neighborhood in easy walking distance to the train station. It is also easy walking/driving distance to Rosary Hill Home, which is why my family and I were there. Ivone was a wonderful host, very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I felt like a visiting friend, and Ivone's warmth and flexibility really helped make a difficult time much easier.

Enjoy the quiet peaceful environment yet accessible to all major Westchester County highways, the local airport and only a 30 minute drive to NYC.
The room is located in a private home and has a private bath and private entrance. It is a rustic feel with a wonderful outside view set up on the hilltop in White Plains. For your comfort, you have a 4 drawer dresser and garment hanging rack. As a guest you will have access to my WIFI network, electronic gaming system and VCR/DVD components.

Great place in right downtown Tarrytown. Close to Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and Metro North train to the Bronx and Manhattan.
Private, nice, clean, small bedroom in third floor apartment. I don't have a TV available but if you bring a laptop or iPad there is Netflix and wifi. Share kitchen and bath (bath with bathtub/shower). Air conditioner is in the room only, the kitchen and bath are not air conditioned. Breakfast is not provided - however, you are free to cook and use any and all utensils and kitchen things available. Fridge and shelf space is provided. There is a supermarket within walking distance. The space is best for one person - a single bed is part of the room. Another person can stay but please note the second bed is a foam pad (comfortable but less wide than a single bed) and the room itself is small (about 100 sq. ft.).
The room is located directly downtown. There are plenty of great places to eat in all price ranges within a block (or less). The neighborhood is very safe. Tarrytown is very much a destination for people from all over Westchester because of the Music Hall and great restaurants (all price ranges). Hiking and trails are near by, great places to cycle, and easy access to NYC via Metro North Train. Lots of historic sites (Lyndhurst, Kykuit, Sunnyside, Philips Manor Restoration, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery), parks, bike paths, Hudson River. Parking is street parking and can be tight at times (but nothing like NYC). It is also very safe to park on the street.
  • Great stay with Tim whilst working at the nearby Blue Hill Farm Stone Barns, was a great host and very helpful.

    Imogen2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location at an affordable price. Many restaurants on the Main Street to explore. Never had a problem finding parking. At most I would have to park 3 blocks away. Tim was very welcoming. I would recommend his place to others.

Everything is at walkable distance and there's tons of nice restaurants and bars around in this lovely town. Tim is a very kind and interesting person and was an available and very nice host. There's many beautiful spots to explore in the region from here and it's easy to bike around on lovely nature trails from one town to the other ! I would definitely come back and recommend this place :)

Come stay in our lovely 1920's single family two story house on one of the best streets in Ossining! The street and house are very quiet. The main floor includes a living room with a large tv and fireplace, a large dining room, a renovated kitchen, and a half bathroom; all accessible to guests and used also by the owners. The second floor has three bedrooms and a shared full bathroom. The guest bedroom has one single bed. ¡Hablo español!

  • Best place ever

    Shihyu2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I will begin this review with a disclaimer that this was my first airBnB experience. That said, Sarah's residence is clean, roomy, and within easy access of plenty of places to eat, the train station, a handful of parks, and at least a handful of entertainment possibilities. If you are looking for something more homely, I would look elsewhere, as they have chosen a very spartan approach to their home decor. I was in town for an event that kept me in the city all day; so, having a place to crash at night was my biggest concern - this worked well. I would not want to spend a lot of time at the residence if I were not busy elsewhere - it does feel quite empty. I would stay here again if I were in-town and expecting to just need a place to crash at night.

    James2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice couple, make you feel comfortable and welcomed.

    Jon2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and jacob's place is really lovely. They purchased an older home and renovated it. The renovations are really nice. Jacob is an architect and their aesthetic sensibility shows. The room is small but very comfortably minimal. The bed was very comfy as well as the comforter. The shared kitchen is totally up to date and modern. Parking is a cinch, right outside. Sarah and Jacob were really nice and attentive. This is definitely an A listing.

    James2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying with Kathi. This was our first time staying in a room in someone's house through Airbnb, rather than renting an entire home. We were hesistant before arriving, but we ended up enjoying staying with Kathi better than staying in a place all to ourselves. She greeted us with hugs and a pitcher of ice water, had lot's of information about the local area, seemed to have a sixth sense about when we wanted privacy and when we wanted company, served us breakfast (which we weren't expecting), and was one of the most genuinely nice people we've met. Her home was incredibly clean and cozy, and the bed was so comfortable I could have slept for days. We had a personal emergency on our trip, and Kathi even helped us like we were family. If/when we return to Sleepy Hollow we don't plan on looking anywhere else for a place to stay, and we would absolutely recommend staying with her to friends.

    Megan2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi is amazing and so is her place. It's little off New York but i had to work at the Rockefeller Centre and her place is 5mints car ride to the place. If you are booking the place you can be assured to stay in a lovely place full of warmth and good vibes. Kathi is by far the best airbnb host i have come across. I wish her all the best and hope she continues to make everyone happy around her.

A charming Cape-Cod style cottage, known as "The Little Red House" - is listed as the oldest house in Dobbs Ferry, being built around 1828. The guest bedroom is on the second floor along with two other family bedrooms. The bathroom is shared. The guest bedroom is small but cozy with a single bed, small desk, chest of drawers and a partial closet. There is no A/C in the summer but we have fans. Another slightly smaller bedroom just recently renovated and restored with a slightly narrower bed complete with chest of drawers, small gentleman's desk and bookshelf is also available on the same floor for a slightly discounted rate. There is no closet in this room. Perfect for parent with child, or two friends each wanting their own room. ** At the moment this 2nd smaller room has a full length curtain across the doorway, not a door as I am still looking for a resalvaged vintage door to go here. Guest needs to be aware of this.
Great safe neighborhood. Friendly local people who know each other. We are a leisurely 12 min downhill walk to the train station (38 -50 min ride to Grand Central), and a 1 min stroll around the corner to all the local restaurants, shops and main grocery store. The Bee Line bus stop is just 50 yds down the street, taking you to White Plains or Yonkers. The 27 mile Old Croton Aqueduct is also within arms reach, a paradise for hikers, joggers and bikers and we have a local riverside park for picnicking. The historic home of Washington Irving, "Sunnyside" is right up the street in the next village of Irvington; and Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown, both open to the public.

  • Joanna's house was such a treasure! It was clean and inviting and filled with amazing and interesting art. Joanna was an outstanding host --- very friendly and welcoming and ready to assist in any way possible. She has a gift for being accessible without being overbearing in any way. I felt as if this house were my own. Additionally, it is incredibly conveniently located with nice restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is also the aqueduct trail just around the corner, and I enjoyed a nice morning walk there. The train station into NYC is just down the street (again, within walking distance) and I had a nice morning in the city. This was a really fun trip! Thanks, Joanna!

I grew up in Pleasantville, I have to say it is one of the best places to live. I am from a family of 7 children so we are still pretty well known in town. This is " Small Town USA" and yes it is "pleasant in Pleasantville" but you need to come find that out for yourself. Strike up a conversation with someone in Black Cow or Starbucks and they will all say the same thing." We looked in a lot of other towns in Westchester and Fairfield when looking to relocate, once we walked around Pleasantville the search was over...
  • Another great stay at Steven's place. Quiet and private, great for one person. Awesome water pressure in the shower.

  • My friend and I stayed at Steve's place for tonight. Steve made check-in a breeze. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is PERFECT for walking into town and grabbing a quick bite to eat. Would recommend this place for someone looking for a quick get away in Pleasantville!

  • Awesome space with lots of privacy. Refrigerator, small microwave and Keurig coffee maker available. Use caution on the steep slope to get down to basement entrance.

  • The room is nice and clean with a nice adjacent bathroom and a handy coffee set up if you don't want to go searching for a coffee shop. The town is quaint, but beautiful and near a lot of shops and places to eat, plus it is very close to the train that will take you into the city. A good place for the low cost.

    Alana2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space and quiet. There were Airbnb guests in the other room too, but we were not in each other's way.

    Sarah2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is just as described! Nice and safe neighborhood with ample street parking. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. Check in was super easy, and Steven was really welcoming! I liked that there was a fridge, microwave, and coffee supplies so you can get ready for the day. Overall a wonderfully place to stay!

  • Linda was very accommodating--we had a quick stay in Tarrytown for a wedding and Linda was flexible about us dropping our stuff off early, which really made the day easier for us. She understood we were in a rush and quickly explained all we needed to know. It was also nice that there wasn't a problem coming in later that night or leaving early that morning. We slept comfortably and had privacy in her basement bedroom. There were no issues at all! Thanks for hosting us for our brief but lovely stay in Tarrytown, Linda!

    Lorraine2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is in a great neighborhood and our accommodations were very comfortable. We'll definitely keep her place in mind when we return to the area.

  • Linda was a great host. Her place is comfortable, quiet, clean and cozy. I had a great weekend exploring the Halloween aspect of Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown.

    Karen2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place was delightfully out of the way in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood, though a quick taxi ride got us to town and the train station easily. The bnb space was roomy and had a big TV and workout equipment. I found the main bed mattress a bit too firm for my taste. Whether you have children or not, the yard swing and big Victorian front porch were a great extra. Linda was a gracious host.

  • Alex and Hilary and their two boys were welcoming, warm and hospitable. The communication was excellent and they are extremely friendly. They will leave you to yourself if you want or are also wonderful to talk to. Their place is located perfectly just off the main drag of the quaint little town - close enough to walk, not close enough to hear any noise. Not that there is a ton of noise from town anyway. They are close to great walks on the aqueduct and right across from the high school. The shower area is a bit tight and old school, but I used it as a bath and it was perfect. Highly recommended. Justin

    Justin2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Alex and Hillary's place. Despite arriving late, they were there to welcome me, with a beer and nice conversation. I immediately felt at home. The room is cosy, bed was comfortable. The area is really nice, easy to park a car, with good public transport connections to New York. Highly recommended!

  • Alex and Hillary's home is located perfectly near the downtown area of Dobbs Ferry. Wonderful restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops. There is also a great trail that runs along the Hudson rivertowns. Other sights such as the Lyndhurst Estate are within walking/biking distance. I slept very well as the neighborhood is very quiet. They treated me to a great homemade lunch and we enjoyed wonderful conversation. I felt right at home. It was the perfect weekend getaway out of the city. I will definitely be back!

  • This is quiet, private room and bathroom. This is my third week and I have had no (URL HIDDEN) is a third floor area so not good for people unable to do stairs. I love the area. Places very close by good places to eat any neal. It's been a very restful stay, just what I needed.

    Ginny2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodating and helpful, I can highly recommend Alex and Hilary to any and all single travelers. Since my days were full of family activities, I only needed a comfortable place to lay my head each night and that was what I got. No frills. Just clean and tidy. Since I am only 5'3" I could even stand in the shower which is under the gable of the room! I'll be back!

  • Kathi was an extremely thoughtful, welcoming and friendly host who put me at ease right away. She went out of her way to show me around and anticipate everything I might need. Her home is immaculately clean and comfortable in a lovely, green, and quiet neighborhood. I had a truly lovely experience meeting Kathi and a very relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

  • Kathi was an exceptional hostess. The room and bathroom were clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed talking with her and learning about the area. Kathi and her beautiful home were simply the best. Highest possible recommendation for those touring the Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown area.

    Zachariah2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi was the friendliest host I have had at an AirBnB. The house is immaculately clean and her hospitality was great. No complaints at all.

    Marty2016-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi was an wonderfully amazing host. She made my short weekend trip to the area an absolute pleasure! I look forward to staying with her again in her beautiful home.

    Reid2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi really truly is a super host! Her beautiful home is very appealing and warm. Kathi goes above and beyond what most hosts do. She welcomes you with a very refreshing surprise, and continental breakfast, which most don't! Her personality makes it very easy to like her and want to get to know her better. For long term rentals you have complete access to her home which is a huge bonus. There are too many perks to list... If you're looking for a very nice place to stay, this is it. Short hop and skip from the train and city. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

    Patrick2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kathi and her family were terrific hosts. My son was interning in the area and Kathi provided a home that was truly a home away from home for him. As a matter of fact he was really sad to leave. A week before move in day, Kathi reached out to us to find out what Ian liked to eat for breakfast! She kept in touch with him prior to his arrival and was there to greet us when we arrived. The house is beautiful and incredibly clean and well maintained. It is in a sweet neighborhood and her family* (*both her own and her other long term guests) couldn't have been any nicer. Kathi even reached out to me mid-stay to tell me how nice Ian was...phew!! We can't thank Kathi more for her generous hospitality. Five stars from this 'particular' parent!!

    Janet2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very short trip to Kathi's house-but a great trip. This is a great place to stay for anyone eating at Stone Barns. Literally a 5 minute drive-so after a 4 hour meal it was great to be so close. Kathi was so welcoming and had a nice breakfast/tea/coffee set up for us. The place was clean, affordable and overall a great stay.

  • Thanks for an awesome and cozy stay in my first time in Westchester!

    Davin2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Elaine was interesting...we came and to her surprise, there were 3 of us although we listed in our reservation that there would be. So, for the first night we just used what he had (2 chairs put together) and the second night Elaine went and bought a air bed for us. The kitchen was being renovated and we were not warned ahead of time so that was a big inconvenience for us. The bathroom, although very clean, did not have a lock and that also made us uncomfortable. We will not be coming back to this place because we felt that our stay didn't meet the description listed in her post- not to mention the dog in the home and other services promised that were not provided (washer, refrigerator, kitchen). Area was not walking distance from train station so Elaine took us- thank you. Parking was great and location was safe. If you are looking to have a pleasant rest, I wouldn't recommend. But if you need something away from the city and just a place to stay, then it will meet your need.

  • Comfortable place with great hosts. So many amazing restaurants in the area. Eat your way across the world in one cute town. Easy walk to trails (Old Croton Aqueduct will take you to Crawbuckie, a hidden treasure). Can also walk to train for scenic ride to the city, or further up the Hudson if escaping from it.

  • We had a great stay at Julie's place. She was always available for any questions and communicated quickly and effectively. The room is clean and pretty, and located in a big old house in a historic residential neighborhood. There are shops, cafes, and restaurants within easy walking distance. Julie was also really flexible with check in and check out time, which was super helpful for us!

    Kathryn2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • I reserved Julie's place for my mom, who was visiting from out of town and it was the perfect place for a weekend stay! The hosts were very easy to work with, and the space was comfortable.

  • Thank you for being such gracious hosts! What a lovely, sunny room. The snacks were unexpected treats as was the hibiscus! Who knew you could grow one indoors. It was so clean and fresh and the bedding was deliciously soft and cozy. We would definitely come back. Thank you!

    Rita2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The spacious, peaceful balcony, bohemian decor, and special touches like yummy scented toiletries, plush towels, full-size hair dryer and quality teas made this the relaxing retreat we wanted. We walked into town and had the best Guatamalan food at Karma Lounge! We enjoyed appetizers on the waterfront at Half Moon in Dobbs Ferry, then strolled the River Walk during a beautiful pink sunset. We toured historic Lyndhurst Castle and the relaxing grounds. The last day, we headed to Bear Mountain State Park to check out the lake and zoo. There are many cute towns and scenic nature to explore within driving distance. The bed was super comfortable, no squeaks. The cozy, immaculate room was dark and quiet at night and the a/c worked great when needed. The fridge fit a bag of our hard boiled eggs, two small cartons of dinner leftovers, 4 small cottage cheeses, and 2 puddings a prior guest had left. The only time noise was an issue was the first morning. The house was built 1920 (gorgeous) and the hardwood floors are creaky. The sound of the resident walking upstairs woke me up pretty early. But I didn't hear anything the rest of our stay, slept well! The positive energy in the room, hosts and home is palpable. The hosts clearly take pride in providing a relaxing getaway for guests, and every detail reflects that, including the thoughtful welcome binder! I'll miss drinking tea on the balcony each morning, watching the butterflies, birds, squirrels and the host's curious cat!

    Lauralyn2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's space is charming and extremely comfortable. We especially liked the little details throughout, like the drinks and snacks on hand. Also, the historical tidbits about the property that were in the welcome binder were really cool to read about. Julie's co-host Christina was super accommodating and communicative, and made the whole process a breeze. Thanks again for everything!

    Kyle2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here felt like staying at my grandmother's place. The house was in the middle of a neighborhood, and the door was a standard inner door, so it felt like I was part of a family, not in my own apartment. I could hear the other tenants, but none were noisy. With the charming welcome notebook giving the history of the house, I felt right at home. It wasn't perfect. There is no kitchen facility, so no way to cook or heat food, and the fridge is big enough for two cans of soda and nothing else. The light from the hallway might keep someone awake who needs more darkness to sleep. The bed was comfortable but very creaky. The tub drained slowly. But the place was spotlessly clean and they left strawberries from their garden for us. Wifi worked well, and there were plenty of wall plugs. I loved the small touches of decor that made the place lively and loved. Overall, if you like feeling like part of a family, and you don't need to cook, this would be a great place to stay.

  • This was a lovely little place. Very clean and cute decorations (plus a ton of books!). If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely be staying here!

  • Annaliesa's apartment was quiet, clean, and the perfect spot for our weekend in New York. Very convenient drive to and from NYC with beautiful views of the Hudson!

  • Lovely place, close to NYC but a world away. Read directions to find it carefully. Wish we could have stayed longer, kitchen was well stocked.

  • I booked two weeks at Annaliesa's place but actually never stayed there at all. I had a personal crisis/emergency that I I had to leave the area. I informed Annaliesa more than 24hr before my booked stay about the emergency and asked to cancel. I was so distraught and on the verge of nervous breakdown. She nonetheless still charged me for 5 nights stay even though I told her I would not come to stay at all and she could rent out the place for the entire 2 weeks I had booked. I understood she had Moderate cancellation policy, but felt that she could be more compassionate under the circumstances. So my rating has nothing to do with experience in staying at her place, but about my disappointment in her lack of compassion in helping a fellow human being in stress while she could.

  • We needed to find a place close to the town of Blauvelt and really didn't want to stay in a hotel. This cozy and quiet apartment was everything we wanted. It was quiet, cozy, and close to the river. The kitchen has everything you would need. Parking was easy. It was nice to take a walk into the town and see the shops and the pier. The yard is so pretty, with the beautiful colors of autumn and the stone steps. Annaliesa was the perfect hostess. We were coming in late, and it was no problem. She stayed in contact with me throughout our stay and made sure we were happy. I hope to stay again soon. It was perfect. Thank you, Annaliesa!

  • Terrific find/ terrific experience. A cosy, well-outfitted, comfortable, adorable apartment. Everything new -- beautifully outfitted! The congenial hosts were considerate, offering great advice on the area, including two farmer's markets, a bike shop, coffee shops, restaurants, great walks, and brilliant views of the Hudson. A great opportunity to enjoy this beautiful area and really special town, in a setting as comfortable as home. Loved the place and hope to return again soon!

  • Ivone's home was lovely, clean, and tastefully decorated. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, as was the room I stayed in. Ivone went out of her way to make sure I had food I wanted for breakfast and was very accommodating.

    Amelia2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoy staying in Ivone's house pretty much. The house is very clean, and all the appliances in the house runs great. Also Ivone also provided a lot of useful tips for living there. One important thing is that Ivone has a high standard of cleanliness, at least it's a high standard for me. So if you can keep everything you used very much in order, then here is a wonderful place for you to stay.

  • It is such a great place to stay. Everything that you hope for an airbnb room would be.

  • Very clean and beautiful home. Cozy room that was a great respite.

    Stephan2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ivone is a wonderful host. Her house is impeccably clean. She is very caring and attentive to whatever you need to feel at home. She even shoveled a path to my car before I woke up during the snow storm. Private off street parking in a safe neighborhood, sauna, maid & laundry service are a nice touch. Plenty of room for all of my clothes during an extended stay. The bedrooms are on the second and third floor, very quiet and warm. I cooked a lot, but restaurants are only minutes away. Her dog Ammo is a love muffin willing to play or leave you alone at your desire. Being able to watch TV and use anything in the house as if it were my own made me feel very comfortable. The highway is close and easy to get to if you drive into the city. I truly hate to leave and highly recommend Ivone's house to everyone.

    Judy2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as lovely as it looks in the pictures! Everything was clean and the house has a very relaxing vibe(URL HIDDEN)appreciated that we were able to check in past midnight on the night that we arrived. Ivone had a friend there to great us for she was out of town. She also had a lockbox if her friend was not available, which I thought was a brilliant idea. The house is close enough to NYC that we took a train in and far enough to avoid NYC traffic. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Ivone to anyone looking to stay in the area.

  • Ivone is a generous and flexible host who maintains a clean, beautiful home. Her house is well situated in the village of Hawthorne, close to the train station and some restaurants and shops. Her dog and cat are lovely, and extremely quiet and friendly. No barking issues at all. We would definitely return again.

  • My girlfriend and I had a lovely time staying with Alan and Lisa. The house was beautiful and was in a really nice neighborhood, within walking distance from a delicious restaurant/cafe called the Market. Sitting out on the porch in the evenings with a glass of wine was summer perfection. We didn't have a car but had a great time anyway, as the Tallman Mountain State Park is just a five minute walk away. We hiked through the park to the beautiful town of Piermont where there are cafes, restaurants and lovely views of the Tappan Zee Bridge. Definitely worth it to hike out to the pier. Made for a great day. Alan and Lisa were wonderful hosts, very friendly and generous. The room was spacious, bright, private and welcoming. Alan and Lisa were happy to chat with us over a glass of wine and were very inviting. We would definitely choose to stay with them again if we found ourselves in the area! Truly special place.

  • Great home in the middle of a peaceful neighborhood. The basement is spacious and clean. The host is very friendly.

  • Pamela and her husband were great hosts! Their home was clean and comfortable. And their listing was even better than they had described. Pamela was available for questions, but also respected our privacy. The complimentary snacks and coffee were greatly appreciated.

    Jessica2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great location for what we wanted to do. Easy access to train stations... just make sure you plan ahead for parking if you want to go into the city! Irvington train station, which is only 10 min from her place, has 24 parking spaces and the pay meter is by the tracks. It's a bit of a walk but not too bad. There's also a local shop around the corner from her that sells sandwiches (incl breakfast ones!) and hot food if you don't feel like eating out. Pamela is an excellent host and the accommodation is very nice. If you like sitting outside, the door going out to the back is up stairs, so bear that in mind if you have issues getting up stairs. It's def a great place if you rent a car as she lets you park in the garage and the door to the acomodation is inside the garage.

    Jennifer2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pamela's stay is very comfy! There is a lot of space to feel totally like home and you have your total privacy because of the separate entrance through the garage. Pamela is a very good host, she left us snack and drinks, a lot of toiletries and she helps you finding everything in the area.

    Vanessa2016-10-08T00:00:00Z

Romantic, renovated 2 bedroom in Dobbs Ferry. Near cafes, great restaurants, groceries & Masters School. 38-48 mins. train to Grand Central, New York. King-size bed. New kitchen, fully equipped. Hi-speed Internet. FIOS, HBO, Starz, Showtime, Netflix Etc. on a 46” screen. Windows on four sides. Warm, cozy and efficient. Guest Bedr (twin). Ideal for a charming getaway or business use. Fall is the time for great music at Tarrytown Music Hall, Sleep Hollow Halloween, Thanksgiving & More.
My bungalow is bright and charming, if I do say so myself. You have access to the whole third floor, which was entirely renovated in 2015. It is clean with modern furnishings and original hardwood floors and detailing. It's cozy (somewhere around 900 square feet/80 square meters), but not small. There's a main bedroom with a king-sized Italian lacquer bed, which is ideal for a couple or business traveler. The extra room doubles as an office (with high speed, wireless Internet) and a guest bedroom with a twin (39x75 inch) brass bed, a brand new mattress and a box spring (more for a child than an adult). The kitchen has all new major appliances ... stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and some smaller items, such as a toaster oven, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, blender, etc. (There will almost certainly be some food in the fridg - some half-and-half for coffee, butter, etc.) The living room/TV room is very pleasant with a large, comfortable couch, a 46 inch TV (with FIOS, Netflix, HBO, Showtime & more) and a wall of books and memorabilia from my extensive travels. The bathroom is very big (by NYC standards) with a stand-up shower/tub. There are pleasant views in all four directions (North, East, South, West) with windows that open and allow a pleasant breeze in Spring and Fall. In Summer, there are three air conditioners: One in the living room, and a second and third AC in each bedroom, as well as some fans. And the hard wood floor (which is the second floor ceiling) has sound proofing. For longer stays, in the entryway to the house, there is a new washer and dryer on the ground floor. One can wash clothes as needed here in the house. Alternatively, there is also a fine laundry service that is very close. They will wash clothes for you. They charge about $1.20 per pound of clothes to wash, dry and fold them.
My apartment is located on a quiet street across from a lovely church and the local Diner on the other side. Out back there is a school, and you can sometimes hear the muted sounds of children playing soccer in the afternoon. There are many local eateries nearby, including delightful places like Cafe Latte, where the owner will charm you in Italian, and Piccola Trattoria, which has sensational food! Use a search engine or Yelp to check out eateries on Cedar Street, which is right around the corner from my apartment. It's just a block away from the main grocery store in Dobbs Ferry for a full range of food supplies. You can easily wander down to the Hudson River, next to the train station, and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The Aqueduct is another great walking path, a pleasurable jaunt to the neighboring cities of Hastings and Irvington. All-in-all, Dobbs Ferry is a delightful merging of old world charm and modern convenience in a semi-rural setting with frequent deer sitings. It's safe and quaint, as well as being very close to Manhattan by train and also White Plains by car. Statistically speaking, Dobbs Ferry is a small community of 11,000 people that has only one bank in town (how small is that!) The median household income of Dobbs Ferry residents is about $108,000/year, and 30% of residents have a graduate or professional degree from college. Sounds - With sound proofing between the floors and being in a quiet neighborhood, across from a church, the apartment is very quiet most of the time, but not perfectly quiet. When the three AC units are in during the summer, they can be heard, and there are more outside sounds passing through the AC's than there are when the windows are closed, like the sound of mowing the neighbor's lawn, for example. Often one hears the muted sounds of children playing at a nearby school when it's in session. And they are sometimes working on the apartment two floors down. All in all, there is no noise, but there could be an occasional distraction.
  • Randy's place is great! We have family in Dobbs Ferry and we love that such a nice place is available. It's close to town, train, good restaurants, and river. Randy's apartment is clean, quiet, airy, and comfortable. He is always available and accommodating. We'll stay there again!

    monia2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's place was perfect for us. Great space -- including large bathroom & comfortable King bed, lots of amenities and walkable location. Pretty much anything we needed was in apartment, or easily available at a nearby store. The area was quiet and street parking was always available. Randy was an accommodating & friendly host. He was close by, if we needed his assistance. We'd definitely be delighted to stay there again. Note: It is a 3rd floor, short walk-up...which wasn't a problem for my husband and I. Oh, and laundry on premises!

    Corrine2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's place was very comfortable and I would highly recommend it to someone who is visiting New York for a few days or more. Having a fully functioning kitchen and a large bathroom are luxuries in New York. We had a rental car and never had a problem finding parking. Restaurants and shopping were not far. We ate at an Italian restaurant in the quaint downtown called Sam's. All 3 of our meals were authentic and delicious. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, with a comfortable couch, lots of light, original hardwood plank floors. The owner had coffee, tea, juice, fruit and muffins for our first breakfast. For us, it was perfect. One note to future guests is that the apartment is a third floor walk-up. I loved that, but that may not be for everyone. I definitely will stay again when in the area if it's available. I couldn't have asked for better accommodations.

    Bonnie2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay in Randy's place, and it was just as wonderful as my first stay. Elisabeth was my host this time, and she was as welcoming and thoughtful as Randy. She provided food and drink for a few meals, including fresh produce, and added thoughtful, pleasing touches like fresh flowers and cold water with mint. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed the proximity to the aquaduct walking trail.

    Lee2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very clean and exactly as represented in the photos. Randy was super nice and very easy to communicate with and flexible as to check in time. He took the time to show me around the apartment and even pointed out location of fire extinguishers and exits from the apartment in case of emergency. He left a few nice touches, including fresh tomatoes and mint from the garden, fresh coffee beans, and milk. The apartment is a short walk from the train station and restaurants.

    Carol2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment, great host! Classic old apartment with all the modern amenities. Randy was super-responsive to questions beforehand, and showed up with lots of great tips and info the day of our visit. The space was perfect for some visiting guests to have their own space to simply relax and hang out.

    Raman2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Randy couldn't have been a more positive experience. Randy was cordial, kind and overall a top of the line host. He went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was exceptional. The apartment itself is beautiful and the location is great and close to a lot of fun stuff. The apartment was clean and cozy and set the stage for a wonderful weekend getaway. I would recommend Randy to anyone visiting the river towns.

They welcomed us into their home with great hospitality assuring we had coffee ready in the morning, suggesting places for dinner and even let do some of our oyster research out of their home on a stormy day. We are so thankful we found this location and would recommend them to anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you so much I hope we meet again on our river adventures!

Best of all is, of course, Dorothy, who really helped make our stay special. We can highly recommend this place.

Our room was capacious and easily fit our family of four. Dorothy and Steve are friendly, responsive, and welcoming hosts- it truly felt like staying with extended family.

Overall the town is quaint and super walkable. Highly recommend if you are like me and love exploring small historic towns with some scenery. This was an incredibly relaxing stay. Welcome to the Washington House AIR B&B! You will have your own room on the lower level with keyed doors to every bedroom. The town and train are about a half mile walk to our door. So, hop the train and get off at the Pleasantville stop, get a hot coffee at The Black Cow. Make a right turn out of the coffee shop and at that corner you will see Washington Ave. directly across from the Jacob Burns Center. Walk half a mile up to our B&B... Look for the hydrant out front and you are there!
The Back Bedroom has one twin bed and one full size bed with a desk. You have your own bathroom when renting the entire space but share the bath when only renting either the front or back room. **The front bedroom has a full size bed, that bedroom is available separately with another listing. It is listed as : " Escape for a Night! Front Room".** That bedroom shares the bath as well as the refrigerator and the coffee machine when both rooms are rented separately. Please be aware that there are two indoor cats present in the house. They do not enter the space unless the main entry door to the apartment is left open then they may pay you a visit. Those with severe cat allergies should not make reservations with us.
  • The location and room have been as described. Only if second room is rented bathroom needs to be shared. The room is equipped with all you need. Clean towels, shampoo/soap, coffee machine, dishes and fridge made the stay perfect. Steven (and his cats) are perfect hosts. We would recommend to stay there.

  • Very nice and clean place in a safe neighbourhood. Steven is a great host. I had a very comfortable stay. Would definitely like to stay here again.

  • Steven's place was exactly as described. Checking in was very easy... we told Steven that we would be a little late and he gave us precise instructions on how to find his place and how to self-check in. The room was comfortable and it was a pleasure to have a refrigerator, coffee machine, plates and cutlery available to the guests. We met Steven on our second night and he was very down to earth and friendly... I enjoyed chatting with him. We recommend his place and will return again.

  • We have had the opportunity to have multiple stays at Steven's home... It is a great location and parking is easy on the street. Steven is a truly great person and makes sure the stay is comfortable and easy. The pluses are too many too mention, but these include a separate guest entrance, a guest refrigerator and kuerig coffee machine outside of the room, cups, plates, cutlery, etc. We will recommend his place over and over again.

  • Great location.

  • Steven is very responsive to the guest. Airbnb, for some reason, never transmitted the home address, and the "directions" sent me to a wrong location. Steven immediately responded to my (concerned) inquiry. The rooms are very well stocked for drinks and small breakfast. (There is a Keurig!). The bathroom also is fully supplied with toiletries that you may have forgotten. Kitty came down to visit in the morning, so I felt even more like I was at home.

  • Steven's place was really convenient, clean and comfortable. Great to have your own entrance in the back and Steven was very communicative especially as our plans kept changing. The room is big with two beds and the bathroom is clean and new. You share the bathroom with one other airbnb room so if you have a larger group you can rent both rooms. Overall, was a great stay in Pleasantville.

  • Everything was clean, comfortable, and very nicely managed. Made very welcome by Steven.

Our place is close to public transport, easy train ride to NYC, Pace University- 8 miles, Phelps Memorial Hospital- 3miles, Rockefeller State park- 4 miles. You’ll love the house because of its location. We have beautiful views of the Hudson river from back of house. Close to Sing Sing prison, but hardly noticeable. You can hear and see the train from deck. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Quiet clean home with no children and no pets.
Walking distance to Supermarket and Local restaurants.
  • Mary Ellen was very kind and I had a great time at her place. Clean and spacious house, with a scenic patio on the Hudson River. You can hear the train every now and then, but it's not loud at all. I'd definitely recommend and hopefully come back!

  • We didn't have a car. It was easy ~20 min to walk to from Ossining Metro North station. There's a supermarket and restaurant complex about 10min walk away. The home was very welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The backyard deck is an amazing lounging space for a very relaxing evening. We had everything we needed including coffee and tea courtesy of our host!

  • Mary Ellen's home I lovey. Beautifully appointed kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom was comfortable and cozy. Mary Ellen was great company but also respected my privacy. I frequent the area and expect to be back.

  • THE REAL DEAL - what special place owned and maintained by an even more super owner. Pictures do not due the place justice. Hudson River proximity a very desirable plus. Spotless in and out /everything very recently upgraded / modernized. A train goes by probably hourly, but we considered it a nice homey / Americana touch (it’s not like horns were blazing just as it approached – Broad Street is just a place along the line). Can’t say enough about Mary Ellen and her innkeeper skills. Wanna talk – she’s there and can keep with the best of them. Want time alone – no problem. Excellent Airbnb experience – could not be any more highly recommended.

  • She's a great host. I only stayed for one night and had been very tired to socialize. She was great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

  • Mary Ellen was the perfect host! She offered many great tips for my visit North to Croton as well as South when I spent the day in the city. It almost felt like I had the place to myself the entire weekend, however, whenever I had a question or needed anything, she either called or texted me right back within minutes. (Very responsive!) Her house is tucked on a cute little street that sits right on the Hudson River and even the sound of the commuter train that passes by occasionally is quite charming. While her deck with it's awesome view is definitely the focal point, the entire house is amazing, safe and spotlessly clean beyond belief. I will definitely be back! -Mark Comella (Cleveland, OH)

  • Mary's place is great, and at a convenient location. She keeps it clean and is very welcoming. I had a great stay and will enthusiastically recommend it.

    Neeraj2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Mary comes across as a kind , caring and sensitive host. She had placed a small basket with essential toiletries and towels for us . The house was very Clean and she constantly reenforced that we have fun. She is very guest focused and it's a pleasure to get to know her as little as that may have been. House is in a quiet location next to the Hudson . There is an occasional train that goes by but her house but her care and comfort make up for it.

Jackie was a lovely host, very welcoming and friendly. The location was ideal for me as it is so close to the train station and, being on Main St, very close to lots of restaurants etc.

A very nice house with a lovely location. Nicely furnished with lounges and chairs for enjoying the lounge and front room. There is a lovely park just across the road with a tiny creek which is great …
