  • You will enjoy the large space and great kitchen complete with a washer. It definitely has a homey feel. The location is ideal if you travel by train. There are several local pubs. A short walk to Asdas Grocery Store. They close early but there's a corner store close by. The host is great and will help when needed.

  • I had a brilliant couple of days staying in Hermione's Annex, I was comfy, cosy and warm. A nice peaceful place but very close to the town and perfect for travelling by train.

  • Plenty of room for the two of us. Spent 10 days here and it was very comfy and warm. Great to have kitchen and washing machine. Bed was very comfortable too. 5 min to walk into town . And train station really on the door step. Good value for money .

  • I’ve reviewed it ‘same as I expected’ BUT this is hugely positive as this was the 2nd time my parents had stayed - therefore there was a level of expectation which was met. They’ve already booked again...

  • An excellent place to stay, great value, the hosts couldn't do enough for us. We were welcomed with extras and they had warmed the annexe and put the lights on so we would feel welcomed.

  • The wagon is truly lovely. Secluded away at the end of its own path you're free to come and go as you please. So many thoughtful touches like tea, coffee and milk provided. Perfect place to chill out and relax. So cosy with the log burner (and oil radiator if needed). I was actually warmer there than in my house!

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality. Great location. Would recommend and go back.

    Gabriele2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little space, toasty warm, cosy and romantic, even on a chill january night. Thoughtful, refreshingly laid back hosts. The breakfast they cooked (they were offering on a trial basis) was flippin fantastic and they were most welcoming. The compost toilet is available at night, and the hosts opened their home and bathroom for showers, so it is a far cry from camping, but retained a lovely, pleasantly rustic feel. The hosts have a good knowledge of the local area, which has basically everything. Would definitely recommend.

    John2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and cosy and right beside the station, exactly what I was looking for. Hosts were incredible, kind, thoughtful and very knowledgeable about the local area. Lovely welcome bottle of local cider, branded toiletries. Breakfast well worth it - smashed avocado with the best poached eggs I’ve ever had - straight from their own hens!

High above the town centre looking east west and north, beautiful light all day , great for people watching as the day goes by. The most perfect location if you like to visit cafe's restaurants, pubs or the famous John Peel centre. Stowmarket is a small town in the heart of Suffolk surrounded by quite country lanes for cycling, footpaths for walking and a great cinema for chilling. Petite Pancakes the cafe on the ground floor have generously donated a £5 voucher person per day.
The apartment on the second floor of a victorian house that has low sash windows so we don't reccomend young children. The access stairs are extremely steep and narrow so you have to agile to navigate. You can temporally park to load/unload your car and then move onto a public paid (£2:50 all day) car park, or slip it into a free spot near the church at the back of the apartment.
We, that is Stowmarket have seven cafe's including a Costa and a Greggs but if you want to sample one of the top 10 cafe's in Suffolk then you are only 10m away. Petite Pancakes. Stowmarket is blessed with a great museum and for the evening the lively John Peel centre and the newly furbished Regal cinema.
  • Excellent service.

    Noor2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Well equipped flat, in central location close to shops and the train station. The pancake shop was superb and we enjoyed the 'full English' pancakes for breakfast. We would rent this flat in the future if it was available.

    Simon2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Jana's place is truly a home away from home and somewhere I highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Stowmarket. Within 5 minutes walking distance of everything you could need and delicious pancakes right below your bedroom every morning where you're always greeted by friendly faces and an uplifting atmosphere, perfect way to start the day. I can't wait to stay again in the future and thank you all again for an amazing stay!

  • The flat was perfect for us, clean with all the amenities needed for a vacation, centrally located and Jana was the perfect host. She made us feel so very welcome from day one. We definitely would stay there again.

    Kim2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Jana are kindly. And the appartment is clean and comfortable.

    Qing2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time in Stowmarket. The apartment was clean and comfy. We felt very welcome and safe in the area. The apartment had everything you needed, including toiletries, clean linen and towels. There was even milk in the fridge for a cuppa. We both felt very relaxed and enjoyed our stay. An added bonus is the wonderful 'Petite Pancakes' below the apartment, which makes delicious homemade, tasty pancakes! I highly recommend this place and I thank you Jana for being such a lovely host.

    lisa2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Before we arrived, Steve was very informative and reassuring about our check in. Upon arrival, Jana was extremely friendly nd welcoming and answered all of our questions. A simple and clean place to stay for the night after a wedding!

My place is close to country walks, quietness, scenery, bird watching, no light pollution. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space and the light. My place is good for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Perfect for a bit of peace and quiet with a beautiful large garden and surrounding areas to enjoy alone or with your family.
  • Excellent communication and hosting from Patricia. Great, dog-friendly space to stay. We really enjoyed our visit.

    Sam2018-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • This property is a little out of the way but suited us fine. We weren't expecting to have cereals and toast supplied and tea coffee and milk so I had taken my own, but didn't need them. The room was spotless, the bedding clean and the bed comfortable. There were extra pillows, blankets and towels available if we had needed them and also dog towels for wet paws. We thought that, for the price we paid, we got excellent value.

    Pat2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a quiet weekend away with no disturbances, this is the place for you

    Daniel2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Patricia was lovely and the rooms were perfect. Very comfortable. Nice little touches like breakfast left out for us.

    Rachel2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Given the price we did not expect too much, but it was just great. Patricia was kind and helpful and very flexible regarding check-in, something we needed desperately because we had to change plans several times due to unforeseen (and unforeseeable) circumstances. The place offers all you can ask for, the mattress was good, it was very quite, something we enjoy particularly during the night. And it's in the middle of a beautiful countryside.

  • A really nice place and an excellent host

  • Luke was so helpful and kept in contact. Replied so quickly. Apartment is upstairs and as a full time wheelchair user I couldn’t see but Luke explained everything and gave a tour for my In laws from New Zealand who I booked it for. He was really helpful with short cuts to the station and high street as the estate is a bit of a maze. Perfect place to stay, modern, clean and quiet according to in laws. Thanks Luke!

    Amy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed in the apartment a few times recently and each time have had excellent experiences. The apartment is bright and cheery and has a great host, Luke, who responds promptly and is readily available, if needed. The apartment is sparkling clean and is in a great location.....very close to the railway station.

  • A quiet, clean and spacious place to stay. A modern apartment on the 2nd floor that had plenty of room with a clean kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. No noise within the building however there is a train track behind the building but not really a disturbance. Luke was very quick to communicate with and was very helpful for any queries we had about the area. Would fully recommend.

  • Our first experience of glamping couldn’t have been better. The hosts were very welcoming but not intrusive. The Pod was great really clean with a really comfortable bed and all we needed in the way of crockery and utensils. The bathroom area is of a good size and didn’t feel cramped at all with a full size shower. The Pod was a Tardis in fact and felt bigger than it looked in the countryside setting. Very relaxing peaceful location. Appreciated that we could bring our dog too.

  • Nice little place, near big shops. Good vaule. Host kept in contact well. House was very clean. Only bad bits were Wi-Fi signal non existent and the plug didn't fit the bath so had to shower the kids but all in all these things were both minor issues and would reccomend staying here and would stay again. • We totally loved Raven Cottage and the fantastic work done by the owner to bring it back to the super condition it is in now, full of beams and history. Needham Market also turned out to be a great place, full of warm and welcoming people. As we live in the south of England, the lovely beer in the nearby Three Tuns, a real local pub, costing £3 a pint was a delightful surprise. There are plenty of pubs to choose from and a local Co-op near the cottage. We found a super field and a river for our spaniel only a few minutes walk away and that you could then walk through an old 'cattle tunnel' to the town centre from that field, having arrived via Crown Street, was a total delight. PIpps is a super gift shop too, full of gorgeous things and great cards. We can't wait to return.

    Maria2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay in this cosy well situated cottage. There's a co op shop on the street along with places to eat, no problem with parking. Easy to heat and the comfiest beds ever.

  • A lovely cottage in a really pretty village location. Local amenities (the baker) were great and we will revisit the area again. Emily’s directions and helpfulness were top.

  • We stayed at Larks Rest over the weekend of my brother's wedding and it was absolutely perfect. Emily was in contact to give helpful instructions and let us know how to check-in which was nice and easy. It ensured I had one less thing to stress about before a hectic weekend! The cottage itself is super cute and perfect for a weekend trip. It's like a home from home. With a shop opposite and pub down the road it was brilliantly located. Emily has also gone the extra mile by providing a really helpful info book about the cottage and suggestions of things in the local area as well as a little welcome package. These were greatly appreciated :)

  • Rachel’s cottage is a beautiful escape to the countryside with great access to the local town and link roads to explore Suffolk and surrounds. A luxurious touch allows you to relax and enjoy! We couldn’t have been happier with the time we spent at Oaks, Rachel and her family are generous and welcoming hosts. The accommodation is fantastic and space surrounding the property is beautifully maintained. We wish we could have stayed longer!

    Jade2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Rachel's place over New Year The cottage is finished to the highest standard and is sparkling clean.

  • Fabulous accommodation, far exceeded expectations, spotlessly clean, everything you could possibly want in the way of cooking facilities including a pizza oven and BBQ. Only minutes from the A14 and yet set in a lovely tranquil location. Giving easy access to explore many of the delights of Suffolk. A hidden gem of a property with a fantastic hostess, we will definitely return.

    Lisa2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Pure luxury, quality and comfort. Absolutely spotless cottage, excellent quality of equipment and THE most comfortable place I have ever stayed. The attention to detail and little touches made our family break away (with 2 year old) feel so relaxing. Out of this world! So much better than a 5* hotel experience! Can’t wait to visit again soon.  Thank you so much!

    Teresa2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic house and a fab host. The house has all the amenities you can possibly imagine and was conveniently located for exploring Suffolk. We stayed with my 6 year old son and we all loved it. Would definitely recommend and would happily return for another stay.

    Anny2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Family of four, we had an amazing stay, the accommodation was fantastic. Extremely clean, perfect size for us, very peaceful yet only minutes from motorway. Lovely villages nearby. Excellent location to visit Suffolk. The added games room and outside dining areas were a lovely bonus. Rachel was a fantastic host, she catered for us after a long drive, providing an excellent welcome package. The amenities were very high standard, beds, sofas sooooo comfortable. 😊 We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay for our trip, wish we could have stayed longer. I have given 5 stars for everything but would easily have 6 stars.

    Ian2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a fantastic weeks stay at Oaks Cottage. Our lovely host Rachel was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed to ensure we had a great stay. The cottage itself was immaculate and spotless with all mod cons and some great extra facilities such as the coffee machine, pizza oven and BBQ. The beds were very comfortable, my son likened the bunk beds to "sleepy on a thousand clouds and marshmellows!" The outside space was huge, with a great garden area for the kids to play in and to also sit and relax, with a private courtyard area for eating alfresco. The kids loved the games room which they used most nights which was an added bonus. It's a lovely peaceful location immersed in the countryside whilst still being close to main routes to all areas of Suffolk and Norfolk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend.

This original 1940s Showman’s Wagon has been lovingly restored to it’s former glory. It has a cast iron cooking stove inside, which is for authentic decorative purposes only, not to be used for cooking! Electric points have been added and solar panels for lighting. Essentially, this is for those who enjoy outdoor living with a bit of luxury thrown in.
Inside the wagon there is a curtained area for the main bedroom with a double/twin beds. The kitchen area has a dresser with all your cutlery, crockery and cooking utensil needs plus a drop leaf table with four folding chairs underneath. There is a small oven in the pavilion with two hot plates if you prefer not to cook on the fire pit outside. The other curtained area has a daybed with a trundle underneath which can be made up as twin beds if required. The area in front of the wagon is for your sole use. There are seats, a table and fire pit under the apple trees. You can also park one or two cars to one side of the waggon. The green pavilion is just around the corner and comprises of a kitchen area, shower and toilet. Plus a sitting room should the weather not allow for sitting out in the garden. The tennis court is shared with the house guests.
Combs is a small village with no facilities of its own. Combs Ford is a mile away with a supermarket, shops, doctor’s surgery, pubs, fish and chip shop and petrol station. A mile in the other direction takes you to the village of Battisford where there is a lovely village pub that sells good locally produced food and will provide a takeaway service if needs be. There is also evening and weekend entertainment on certain dates. Stowmarket is a small town 1.5 miles away, it has all the usual shops that you may need plus a few individual ones. The museum of East Anglian Life is in the centre of Stowmarket and well worth a visit. There is also a leisure centre with swimming pool and a soft play area for young children. Stowmarket railway station runs trains to London Liverpool Street, Norwich and Peterborough regularly throughout the day. The east coast is easily accessible with Felixstowe being the nearest town, but the renowned destinations of Southwold and Aldeburgh are just an hour away. Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful historic town and has plenty to offer for a day out. The county town of Ipswich has the newly developed waterfront with a selection of good restaurants.
  • Thank you for a great stay. It was our first experience camping/glamping with the children and it was just perfect. The hut was a god send on the rainy days and a great adventure. Ed and I even had a go at tennis first time since the children have been born! Herbie loved being ball boy. breakfast and dinner cooked on the fire pit was ace. Such a cute little place it worked out well.

    Kerri2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy traditional caravan in a peaceful setting. The kids loved playing in the gardens and toasting marshmallows in the fire pit!

    Tom2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, peaceful place for a break in the Suffolk countryside.

    Harry2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the waggon for 5 days in August 2018. The communications with the host were clear and helpful. The location was easy to find by entering the postcode in google maps. The waggon was very clean and well stocked on arrival as was the log cabin with the private shower and toilet. The kitchen area was also well stocked with glasses, crockery, pans etc and there was a mini oven and hob for cooking, plus use of the communal BBQ (shared with house guests). Everything was very clean. The only drawback was that it was very dark at night if we needed to walk to the toilets. This could be easily fixed with a couple of extra solar lamps.

    Rhodri2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, very peaceful and a very good alternative to camping with small children - great amenities and indoor places to be when it inevitably rained!

The farmhouse is a grade II listed building dating back to the 16th century. It has recently been renovated to restore this magnificent house to its original rustic origins. There is a well kept garden and outside space including a tennis court. The nearby pub serves excellent food and has a well stocked bar. The town of Stowmarket is 2.5 miles away, it has main line trains to London and Norwich, and has a good selection of shops plus the museum of East Anglian life.
This farmhouse has been described as having the wow factor by everyone who has viewed it. It is set in beautiful agricultural countryside and is in the heart of Suffolk which makes for easy access to the coast, towns, forests and heathlands. Whether you want to go out and explore and be active or to stay put and enjoy the garden facilities, including the hot tub, and just relax, then this house is for you. The Punch Bowl pub in Battisford offers village hospitality and a good menu with some locally sourced food. The Mid-Suffolk area has many and varied restaurants to cater for all tastes. There are brochures and leaflets in the house advising on local facilities. Stowmarket leisure centre has a large swimming pool, squash courts and gym facilities. The Regal cinema has current films showing and the John Peel Centre has live music, plays and exhibitions.
  • What an amazing stay in a wonderful idyllic cottage. Des was a brilliant host with very quick responses and was only next door for our stay should we have had any issues. We stayed over New Year as a group of 6 friends and the cottage was the perfect size. Took a day trip to Southwold and a short walk to the local pub down the country lanes which was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend staying and thanks Des for your hospitality!

    Daniel2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for Christmas (3 couples). The house was spotlessly clean and incredibly well provisioned - we had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner for a large group. It’s a truly wonderful place to stay. The house is a beautiful property with lots of character, enjoying an enormous and immaculately manicured garden. The hot tub is also a real treat. The surrounding areas are some of the finest Suffolk countryside, perfect for walks of all lengths. Des was an incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly host. Our entire group would highly recommend staying here, we’ll definitely be back.

  • Wonderful, historic, farmhouse in a picturesque part of Suffolk. Great facilities and Desiree was an amazing host.

    Graeme2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing find I booked because we were going to see Ed Sheeran in Ipswich, pictures can’t portray what a fabulous house and gardens this is. We had a fantastic weekend and choose to spend time back at the house instead of too many day trips. There is so much space for everyone and the facilities are 5star right down to the super fluffy towels and Egyptian cotton sheets it’s perfect for a large family get together. Desiree is the perfect host with lots of local tips she lives next door but didn’t invade our privacy in any way but was there if we needed her. There are lots of places worth a visit near by depending on what you want and a perfect little 5k run from the doorstep.

    Elaine2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Desiree's place is highly recommended as it ticks all the right boxes if you are traveling to suffolk with a large group including kids.. we were 9 of us with kids ranging from ages 1 -13. All of us had a great time! The kitchen amenities and utensils were abundant and pretty ..the bedrooms ample and comfortable..everything clean and cozy... a robust garden and of course the kids toy room --full of lego , dolls, a beautiful doll house, board games , books and movies - it was so popular, the children didn't want to leave! If you are looking for a great family time.. long walks ... tennis games in the garden.. kids running about and a few occasional visitors- squirrels , rabbits , pheasants ( i thought i saw a deer, but not sure) ... .. this is the perfect place. Would love to go there again!

    Alpana2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our family holiday with friends in Desiree’s house. The photographs don’t do justice to the lovely house, and the garden is wonderful with plenty of space for relaxing and playing. The hot tub was used every day! Desiree was very helpful and close by in case we had any questions.

    Sarah2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful visit to the cottage. Desiree is a great host... good communication, extremely helpful and friendly. The cottage was lovely - beautiful original features, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It has everything you would need - including amazingly fluffy towels! The garden is huge and beautiful - we made good use of the hot tub and tennis court. My son was in heaven with all the space to play football! The location is very peaceful - but you are not too far away from supermarkets etc and easy to get to the coast/surrounding towns. I would absolutely stay again. Thank you Desiree x

  • Gipping Valley Glamping is an excellent choice for a stay in the country. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and catered for our every need. It is a lovely area and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

  • Great place to stay, the pod has everything you need. We loved staying in the pod, it’s a lovely location and Alison & Paul was extremely helpful. We stayed for my husbands birthday and arranged balloons and cards to be delivered which they set up in the pod for me and also got Chris a birthday card. We will definitely come back. • A lovely part of the country with footpaths/bridleways and quiet roads all around (ordinance survey map in the pod was a bonus!). A wonderful peaceful location for stargazing on a clear night after cooking on the fire pit! It was a bit of a squeeze for a family of four (our children are 9 and 12) but we managed fine for a couple of nights. Alison and Paul came to say hello once we had settled in and were very friendly. Air con was very welcome as we were in the middle of a heatwave.

  • "A perfect getaway". The glamping pod is perfect for a couple looking for a nice getaway. Paul responds quite quickly to any questions and is beyond helpful. We stayed here for 2 nights and really wished we had stayed a little longer. The pod has all the amenities you are looking for. I was really surprised by the amazing use of space and the pod is very clean. In the afternoon we had a little stroll around the village and went to a pond nearby. In the evening we bought some food from the supermarket and cooked in the pod. The glamping area is secluded which I enjoyed a lot as it was peace and quiet at all times. Every guest on the other pods which I saw definitely was having a great time as well which tells a lot about this place.

  • Spent a lovely 4 nights in the safari tent. Immaculate, clean and well equipped with a lovely hot shower, towel rail, cosy sleeping areas and comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Even had a great TV and wifi we found useful on a rainy day! We camped with our 3 and 5 year old who loved the experience and had plenty of freedom to run around the safe and secure grounds. We would recommend staying here. The hosts are friendly and it is an idyllic setting - the view is even more amazing in real life. Lots of wildlife to watch and country walks from Moats Tye. Easy to go further afield in the car to either Ipswich or the coastline.

  • Just under 2 hours from London, this was a perfect weekend getaway for us, a family of 4. The safari tent is a very comfortable size and has all amenities anyone could need, including a well-kitted out kitchen and great quality linen. Paul and Alison are lovely hosts and dropped in to say hello personally on the evening we arrived. The weather wasn’t our friend during our stay with no possibility of outdoorsy activities on Saturday evening so we ended up staying in with Netflix and a ready meal from the local farmshop - and again the tent was perfect for this! Will definitely be returning!

  • Absolutely amazing place to stay, I highly recommend it. Kids friendly (we were there with our 6 and 2 year old). Lots of space for the kids to run around outside. Beautiful location and fantastic accommodation. Will be booking again.
