Places to stay in Sharon Springs
1860’s Greek Revival house with 21st Century comfort in a rural setting. 5 miles from Cherry Valley, Sharon Springs. 17 miles to Cooperstown.
  • Wonderful place to stay in such a beautiful place!

    Christopher2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Leila's place was wonderful. The setting is both beautiful and peaceful, and the home was lovely. We love older homes and this one has been kept up beautifully. Leila and Philip were gracious hosts. They had nice little touches (fresh fruit and yogurt, as well as snacks), and were close by if we needed them. We were looking for something in the area of Cooperstown, NY, as we were looking to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. This home was perfect. It's less than 30 minutes from the Hall of Fame and the ride to and from Cooperstown is beautiful. I would highly recommend this home if anyone is looking for a beautiful location not far from Cooperstown, NY.

  • Wonderful home and hospitality!

    Keri2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful old country house. Gracious hosts. Full of wonderful books, beautiful hardwood floors and thoughtful extras that were a very welcome surprise. Had a wonderful stay - opera at Glimmerglass and bicycling around nearby towns full of friendly and polite people (including the children).

    Marnie2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and spacious house. Perfect for what we were looking for. Love having all that we needed. Leila got lots of amenities that were very convenient to have and very useful.

  • Comfortable and charming home. Hosts were very welcoming- available w/o being intrusive. We'll happily return and recommend it highly.

  • Leila and Phil are gracious hosts. Their home is a comfortable, nicely updated retreat, and a pleasure to return to after a day of of exploring the nearby towns and beautiful mountains. There is plenty of space to read, play games, take a nap, or cook a meal in the well-appointed kitchen. We would definitely stay here again!

The perfect getaway! Two fireplaces make this antique-filled country colonial home the perfect place to come and just relax or enjoy cross country skiing, snow mobiling, snow shoeing, and hiking right from your back door. The Herrick House is 120 acres of fields and forest with spectacular views and various wildlife. With 4 bedrooms,2 full bathrooms, 2 living areas, 2 beautiful wood burning fireplaces, laundry room, new appliances; this is the perfect getaway for family and friends.
  • If you want to truly get away, this is your place. Out and away but not to far so that you can still go into town for a little fun. The home is very colonial, which I love, and you can tell the owner really put a lot of work into making the place feel authentic. I would recommend to anybody who just wants to enjoy a good getaway in front of a fire place.

  • Thanks Diane for a great stay. This charming old farmhouse was located close to Cooperstown/Omegang Brewery as well as Howe Caverns. We enjoyed our stay by taking a couple of day trips and spending the evenings basking by the fireplace with dinner and friends.

  • Beautiful house, nicely preserved, with modern amenities. In a rural farm setting, near a bunch of cute villages--Sharon Springs, Cherry Valley--but also close enough to Albany, Cooperstown, and Oneonta to get you to anything you need within an hour or so. Diane is a lovely host--responsive and generous. We spent most of the winter holiday hanging out inside the house. There are two living rooms, each with its own fireplace (when we went, the fireplace to the right wasn't available for use, but the central fireplace is cozy and more than enough). Diane had more than a quarter cord of firewood delivered at the start of our trip--very kind. (If you happen to run out of wood, both Stewart's and Tractor Supply sell some.) One bedroom, downstairs, has beautiful light; upstairs there's an adorable single bedroom, a master bedroom with a huge, windowed closet, and a sweet fourth bedroom with a canopy bed. Lots of closets! We'll be back!

  • What a lovely place to spend a few chilly fall nights. The fireplace was wonderful and we enjoyed walking around the countryside.

  • Charming house, beautiful location on a quiet country road with meadows back and front, sparking clean with super comfortable beds and linens.

  • Thank you for a perfect stay!

    Sandy2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a gem! Very clean and furnished with vintage farm memorabilia. There were plenty of towels, dishes and utensils in the kitchen and a beautiful porch to relax on. This is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy country life! Diane is quick to respond to any questions and even came by promptly to fix something that had broken. Highly recommend!

Park Street Place (PSP) is located on a quiet street in the village of Sharon Springs. Enjoy exceptional restaurants, little shops, and historical sites, all within walking distance or a quick, little ride. PSP is newly renovated and fully modernized, yet retains the charm of its 1860s heritage. Sharon Springs is a village with lots of character (and lots of characters), a nice retreat within easy access to other upstate points of interest including Cooperstown and historic Schoharie County.
You will have plenty of room for off-street parking in a lot shared with the funeral home next door. A little convenience store is within walking distance for those last-minute necessities. The bank (ATM), library, and Post Office are also within walking distance.
You will have a comfortable, convenient stay with a true small-town America feel. Don't be fooled: Sharon Springs has historically attracted people from all over the world, and that tradition continues.
  • Perfect space for 4 people! Maggie put together a welcome note for us when we got there telling us all about different local attractions and places to eat. Just an FYI for future renters...we brought a hotspot with us that operated on Sprint lines and it didn't get any service(not Maggie's fault at all- just good to know for future). However, there were a lot of games provided. We ended up finding dominoes and had a fun game night! The TV in the living room has great digital cable, so it's just no wi-fi. The place was very clean and provided a cute coffee set up for the AM with Kcups! The place was absolutely as advertised- if not better! Would love to come back and stay again.

    Rachel2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to spend time with friends - the house was set up perfectly. A lot of personal touches to make the stay great. We would definitely come and stay again.

    Rob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. Lovely and current interior design & decor. Pleasantly surprised by the laminated instruction/tips sheets and collection of books and board games. Also loved the fact that both the kitchen and were fully stocked with everything necessary to feel at home. The close proximity to SUNY Cobleskill was the most important part of my stay at Park Street Place. Communicating with Maggie was easy as she replied to messages in a timely fashion and is always pleasant. Would definitely stay at Park Street Place again.

    Daniel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Park Street Place was wonderful. The house was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It’s an especially nice perk to have a bathroom downstairs and upstairs. We so appreciated the yummy coffee station for the morning. And the beds were very comfortable! That’s very important to us and we slept very well. We look forward to staying here the next time we visit Sharon Springs!

    Rosie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Just like being at home No Wi-Fi became a slight issue only. Very accommodating & extra touches much appreciated. Definitely recommend this park place experience!

  • Maggie's home in Sharon Springs is a gem. Right off Route 20 in Sharon Springs, it couldn't be more convenient to all that the Leatherstocking Region has to offer. The home has lots of original touches but is updated and clean. I plan to book again in 2020!

  • Cheryl’s place was an absolute dream. It went far beyond our expectations! We absolutely loved the thoughtful touches, the milk and half and half in the fridge, the way she set out the coffee cups for our arrival, the comfy gown waiting over a hanger in the bedroom. We loved the lavender products she provided for our use in the shower so much, that my friend ordered more for herself online. Cheryl’s little apartment is absolutely spotless. I felt like I could eat off the floor! The space is thoughtfully arranged and has beautiful antiques throughout. It is in the very center of a very quaint little town. Despite being flanked by restaurants, it was very quiet, even on a Saturday evening. Cheryl was always incredibly quick to respond to emails and was wonderfully gracious and helpful throughout. I found myself wishing I could meet her - a first for me! I have visited many Airbnb’s and other owner-rented properties in the past, and I can say, hands-down, this is my BEST experience ever. Thank you, Cheryl. Words can’t convey our appreciation!

  • Cheryl’s apartment is lovely. It’s very comfortable, clean, tasteful and private. It’s right in the village so it’s easy to walk to get meals, shop, etc. Cheryl was very easy to communicate with and she helped us solve a few minor problems (that we created!) immediately. I’d love to stay there again.

  • This is a beautiful, quiet and well appointed apartment in a cute little town. It is ideally situated for touring Howe Caverns and Cooperstown. Don't miss "204 Main", the great restaurant right next door. Cheryl, the host, was quick to communicate with us made our stay easy and carefree. Definitely recommended .

  • We had a wonderful time. There were so many comfortable and beautiful details about the loft that I couldn’t write them all. Thank you for all the lovely touches like the coffee and the soaps.

Are you a fan of farm & country life? This is the perfect room for someone who enjoys simple, clean and cozy--and animals! Also sharing the property during your stay will be a cuddly 80 pound German Shorthaired Pointer, 2 cockatiels, a leopard gecko, and the resident horse (who, unfortunately, does not fit in the house). 40 minutes to Cooperstown Hall of Fame, 15 to Cobleskill, Howe Caverns, or Canajoharie, 30 to Amsterdam, and 50 to Albany. Located on a quiet, dead-end road next to a creek.
This rental is for a small bedroom with a full size bed, large closet, and a nightstand with drawer. Guests are permitted access to the bathroom, living room, and kitchen. Simple breakfast options will be provided (cereal, english muffins, milk, orange juice, etc.) Because this is a spare room, guests should be aware that the host (Bethany) will be present. This rental is LGBT friendly.
My home is located just a short drive away from the quaint village of Cobleskill. There you can find a shops, dining, and single-screen theater where you can enjoy popcorn, a drink, and a movie for FAR cheaper than the big theaters! Howe Caverns is also very close by! There are a number of nearby hiking trails including those in the Charleston State Forest and Wintergreen Park, as well as Looking Glass Pond near Summit, NY. Just 8 minutes from the house is a great little restaurant where live music & events are on the schedule several times a month. There are a lot of Amish living in the area, so as you travel, please be mindful of their horses & buggies!

  • This was our second stay in Carol and Robert’s charming White House on Main. Many thoughtful touches make you feel right at home. Check in/out and communication couldn’t be easier. Great for families and just a half hour from Cooperstown.

  • Adorable home walking distance to everything in town. Absolutely spotless and wonderful owners who were flexible and accommodating with our short notice stay. Communication was effortless and they gave complete directions making a country getaway easy and stress free!

  • Carol and Robert were great hosts. The house was beautiful with a perfect walkable distance to town. There were a lot of small touches in the house that made it feel warm and welcoming. Carol was very responsive. We will be coming back and recommending to friends!

    Claudia2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time that I've stayed at Carol and Robert's place, and it won't be the last. I've already let them know that I'll be back for my bi-annual trip to Sharon Springs, NY, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Their home is beautiful, immaculate, has every amenity you could possibly need, and is conveniently located. It is home away from home. They have thought of everything--from the Keurig coffeemaker to free WiFi to the Beekman 1802 products. The beds are comfy, the towels are soft, the kitchen is extremely well stocked, the gardens are beautiful--they really have thought of everything and take great care and have a lot of pride in their home. And for those of you who are fans of the Beekman Boys, it is literally steps away from the Beekman 1802 Mercantile. Carol and Robert also give great tips on places to go around the region like Cooperstown. . . . "See" you in 2020! Thank you for another terrific trip!!

    Lisa2018-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Robert’s house on Main Street was a delightful place to stay. Their touches of hospitality in the home made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed spending time late into the August evening on the back deck, which was a lovely place to sit. The sunny front porch was a nice place to sip coffee and watch the cars go by. We parked two cars, which was easy. We were there to visit the Glimmerglass Festival which was an easy drive, and also enjoyed ourselves in Cooperstown. Thanks for a great stay!

  • This is the perfect place for those looking to spend high quality time with a small group of friends or family, relaxing, playing games and going out for nice walks and hikes. The 254 acre property is stunning, and we spent a lot of our time out exploring. Our group also enjoys cooking, and the open, large and well equipped kitchen made it easy for many of us to be working in there simultaneously. The dinning room was perfect for our group of 8, we easily fit around the table, and were comfortable together in the family room for games and movies. We plan to stay here again in the future.

  • Spacious, stylish, cozy, and warm--with lots of movies on DVD. The privacy and surrounding landscape are spectacular. The host responds quickly with helpful instructions,

  • Longhollow is a wonderful getaway and not too far from a number of local attractions. 30-50 minutes from Glimmerglass, Howe Caverns, and Cooperstown with all that it has to offer. The property is beautiful and offers plenty of space for outdoor relaxation, eating, and game playing PLUS ample indoor space for the same and comfortably sleeps 7-8 people. I’ve become too much of a city boy and my allergies bothered me but that’s the only issue I had with my stay. Tom is a great host with quick responses and plenty of recommendations.

    Doug2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovey stay at Thomas’s house to attend a few GlimmerGlass shows. The house is very cute, with a lovely porch to hang out on, grill, and big kitchen. The rooms were thoughtfully appointed. Thomas was a great resource, and gave us lots of tips for local things to do. The property itself is beautiful, and we really enjoyed the privacy and seclusion it offered. If you have a larger group, you may want to note that there is only 1 bathroom on the top floor, where the bedrooms are all located. We would definitely stay there again - thank you Thomas!

    Sarah2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Thomas’s farmhouse was excellent, Checkin and checkout was seamless. Thomas was always quick to respond to questions. The house was very comfortable and extremely well appointed. It is situated on a beautiful quiet property. Amenities were better than expected the house is well appointed and there are lots of books and dvds if you get stuck inside on a rainy day. The porch and patio offer great outdoor spaces to relax and the porch is covered so you can still enjoy the outdoors even if it rains. I would love to come back when I have more time to explore the large wooded property. I would highly recommend the farmhouse if you are looking for a quite place to relax in the countryside.

    Richard2019-08-04T00:00:00Z

  • We weren't sure what to expect when we booked our Tentrr stay, though we can now say that our experience was beyond wonderful. The property itself is gorgeous. The front of the canvas tent opens to a vast view of a tree-filled valley, and there are even outdoor cots provided near the fire pit for stargazing. Two adirondack chairs on the tent platform's porch made the perfect spot for morning tea and sunrise watching. Yvonne was a phenomenal host. The tent was very clean and the bed and linens were both comfortable. Tentrr doesn't require hosts to provide linens, so we really appreciated Yvonne having the bed made for us upon arrival. She even had an adorable little snack spread and an accompanying bottle of wine to welcome us for our stay. We stayed on a particularly cold weekend, and the wood burning stove kept the tent comfortably warm the entire time. Ample firewood was provided for us by Yvonne. The bathroom situation was as comfortable as an outdoor commode could be - it was very clean, and toilet paper, a lantern, and hand sanitizer were all provided for our convenience. The property is a short drive from Cooperstown as well as the Howe Caverns, both of which we visited during our stay. Overall, this experience is one in which we will always remember fondly.

  • Spending the weekend at this Air B&B was like staying with family. Everyone was so nice and the breakfast was to die for. The rooms were clean and the bed was extremely comfortable also you don't need to bring shampoo, conditioner or soap because they provide Beekman 1802 in the bathroom. Sitting on the front porch in a rocker was so relaxing I think I could have slept out there. I highly recommend visiting this Air B&B and Sharon Springs, NY.

  • This Bed & Breakfast was wonderful! I woke up to Kelly's delicious breakfasts and enjoyed exploring Sharon Springs at night. The bedroom was comfortable, as were the public spaces--living room, dining room, and porch. The location is very peaceful, but there is a lot of history and creativity all around.

It features 4 different types of natural mineral springs! Now we have some gorgeous historical buildings, unique shops including Beekman 1802 Mercantile, Cobbler & Co, McGillicuddy Natural Soaps , Shaorn Sprigs and Graham's Goods. Excellent dining options are available at the American Hotel, 204 Main Bar & Bistro, Sharon Tavern and the Black Cat Cafe

  • This was a great find during a super busy time in the area. We were visiting for the Baseball Hall of Fame induction and other guests were visiting for the Glimmerglass Festival. The room was very spacious and comfortable and even when the inn was sold out it was very quiet and private. The breakfasts were all absolutely delicious with lots of variety. The WiFi worked well. Bruce and Kelly are wonderful and friendly hosts who made us feel at home and had plenty of information about local restaurants and activities. I would absolutely recommend!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at The Nash in Sharon Springs. We stayed here during Induction Weekend for the Baseball Hall of Fame - only a 30 min. scenic drive to Cooperstown. We loved the modern look and feel of our room. Jim's hospitality was better than we could ask for and we deeply enjoyed the delicious homemade breakfast each morning, especially the french toast and the lemon zest ricotta pancakes. If you are a coffee lover you will not be disappointed. We highly recommend staying at the Nash and will definitely stay here again if we return to Cooperstown in the future.

  • Firstly, before having had any contact with Jim, he had upgraded my partner & I to the suite for no extra charge because the room displayed on the website was taken. I had bought tickets to a show in Cooperstown & wanted to provide my guest with the best possible experience for the chosen area, Jim made this happen. Great interior, classy restaurant below that Jim himself owns & a complementary breakfast in the morning made this stay a winner.

  • When I discovered that my very good friend would be returning to the Glimmerglass Festival to perform for a second year in Porgy and Bess I could not pass up the opportunity to visit the area. I searched for lodging in several areas and then decided to search on airbnb where I was fortunate to find Sharon's listing. She promptly replied to my questions and U felt comfortable booking with her. Upon arrival I was greated warmly and made to feel right at home...The view from Sharon's home is spectacular. I spent as much time as I could drinking it all in. The room was very neat and cozy and spacious. While there is no wifi I was able to pick up a signal outside (Sprint). In the future I would bring a second device and use my phone as a hotspot. The drive to Cooperstown was about 25 mins and easy enough to navigate. As an added benefit to my stay Sharon prepared a delicious breakfast the next morning, including delicious muffins she baked. My stay was pleasant and I would definitely recommend Sharon's home to anyone visiting the area.

  • Sharon is a super sweet lady. She went out of her way to be hospitable to us. She had cookies baked upon arrival, brought us a snack while we were watching the sunset, ensured that all of our needs were met, and got up early to have homemade breakfast prepared for our early departure.

    Courtney2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was flexible and gave me a warm welcome which is nice. I was there to shower, sleep and head out early and she was so kind to leave me muffins and fruit to send me on my way to hike in the Adirondacks early the next morning. I loved the view from her home as I witnessed the most amazing sunrise while leaving her peaceful home in the country. I slept well and would love to come back and share more time with Sharon and the dogs.

    Brandy2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon is super nice and made a good breakfast, was kind, and interacted as little or as much as you'd want her to. The place is very rural and you have to expect things in such a setting before you arrive. I would stay there again.
