Vacation Rentals in Salthill

Just booked in Salthill

Beautifully restored Pre-Famine cottage. Listed on The Financial Times as a tranquil escape from the bustle of modern life. Rural setting surrounded by lacy stone walls, secluded gardens, and still on the outskirts of the cultural city of Galway.
Riding stables across the road and 9 hole golf course and driving range 1/2 mile away
  • This was a beautiful, cosy cottage, exactly as the photographs demonstrated. We had a wonderful 4 day stay and the cottage was perfect for our needs. Romain and his family had kindly left us bread and some provisions in the fridge. It was less than 10 minutes in the car to Galway and the lovely pubs, shops etc. We only met Romain, but he was very helpful and only to happy to help - a very lovely host. Would definitely return!

    Greg2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Directions superb. Cottage as described. Though compact it is fitted out perfectly for a couple. Nice touch with the fresh soda bread and fire lit on arrival. Even a 36hr power cut caused by Storm Desmond did not dilute the experience though the babbling brook outside the cottage became a torrent. All in all a lovely retreat and very romantic setting.

    Victoria2015-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Romain was so kind and considerate, meeting us to guide us into the stunningly idyllic An Bunstop cottage.warm baked bread, and an open fire greeted us to this magical (URL HIDDEN) soon as one enters one is wrapped in a bubble of otherwordly charm, Yet only five minutes in the car from the exuberant Galway. Both Romain and the cottage are rare gems to be found and treasured. We will definately return and would recommend this precious find to any one seeking intimacy and effervesent fun

  • Had an amazing couple of days here. The cottage is beautiful - old worldly - yet fully functional with modern conveniences - hot shower, oven/cooker/microwave etc. Deirdre was very helpful and we were very touched by the freshly baked brown bread which awaited us in the kitchen. I'd highly recommend Ti Thiar as a getaway. And relatively close to all that Galway City offers.

    Nick2014-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for 2 days as part of our honeymoon in Ireland and absolutely loved it. The place is just astoundingly adorable and private, but located 10 minutes from Galway city center. Deirdre was lovely and provided us with champagne as a surprise to congratulate us, along with bread, butter and eggs for breakfast. There are great places to go for a walk around the area with nice views of Galway Bay. We were a bit chilly since the cottage is so old and made of stone, but Deirdre gave us an extra heater and amenities to start a fire so we were comfortable. I loved it and will definitely stay here again if I'm ever in Galway!

  • I stayed in this magical place for a weekend and must surely return as Ti Thar is unique. Tiny cottage with everything we needed for a comfortable and authentic experience. Great to have an open peat burning fire and metre thick walls, yet all the mod cons we nowadays expect .....hot shower comfottable bed etc. Deirdre had left us bread milk butter and more yet although we felt like we were in a remote location in reality there are supermarkets only ten minutes drive away. We picked blackberries from the hedgerows and sat in the lush gardens and felt like we had gone back in time as described. All the delights if the Connemara national park are on the doorstep and galway is just a 15 minute drive away Highly recommended

    Alison2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in this atmospheric little cottage and were made to feel very welcome, with a fire lit & fresh soda bread on arrival. Location wise was perfect for exploring Galway & Clare & a great place to return to in the evening following a day of exploring & walking. Nice and cosy - though we were blessed with amazing weather for this time of year, sun & no rain! Host recommendations for food & music very much appreciated too. Thank you!

    Alexandra2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely relaxing stay in this cottage. It was perfect and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire in the evening. Close enough to Galway to enjoy the sights but feel that you are also totally relaxing. Thank you!

  • I can't imagine a better set up; a short, enjoyable walk into Galway; a lively, scenic neighborhood; exceptionally kind locals; and a wonderful host. Gav made me feel right at home and lives up to his rave reviews... 5 stars, for sure!

  • I had a great time in Galway staying at Gavs place. Beautiful view of Salthill Coastline from the balcony, the room was bright, shops and Latin quarter within walking distance. Gav is a friendly, easy - going host, had great insider's advice on what to do and where to go. Thanks again!

  • Gav was an amazing host, he was very nice and friendly. The room was very clean and calm.

  • Gav was an amazing host. He was extremely friendly, honest, and a breathe of fresh air. He has a lovely apartment that overlooks the bay/beach. I think it was one of the most beautiful views I've had in my stay in Ireland. He was very clean, informative, and just a well rounded individual. It was nice to have my own bathroom as well. The apartment is centrally located so you are within walking distance to all. I would definitely book him again because Galway/Salthill is now my favorite place in all Ireland. Gav takes pride in his hosting and made Galway that much better. If you are looking to stay in the Galway area, book this location. You will not regret it.

    Yani2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gav's place is great, I would have no hesitation in recommending it. Getting tired of reviewing it at this stage though!.....Great location, great host, great view. great Guinness in O'Connor's round the corner, music's not to shabby either - check it out.

    Sean2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a bit like a hotel with some other rooms that are rented there. Clean, a bit impersonal in the room, very good breakfast. The only bad point was the communication before we arrived as it was impossible to reach Darvin or his girlfriend before our arrival (but we finally did :)

    Céline2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and super comfy bed!

    Sinead2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to walk to town. Great pub very close by (O'Connor's). Very friendly hosts. Only down side was that if someone had recently done laundry or taken a shower, there would be no hot water for a little bit. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

    Mitchell 2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Darvin’s place was great! Easy walk to the Latin quarter, free parking and easy checkin. They even have free breakfast for you in the morning! Darvin was great at communicating and giving us instructions on how to find the place. Would highly recommend!

Their place is less than a five minute walk from the water and restaurants in Salthill, and about a mile walk into Galway center. The room was comfortable and clean, and we had a great time. Highly recommend.

  • We loved our stay at Jodi and Amy's place! It was perfect. Checking-in was easy and we felt like home - already at arrival. And that was because it is a beautiful place, we could use kitchen and tv, had our own bath- and bedroom and the neighborhood was quite and really nice. We loved Salthill because we felt more like locals than tourists. Amy and Jodi are great hosts. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

  • Jody and Amy are perfect hosts they provided excellent information about the area. They did not interfere with our comings and goings from the house. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Jody and Amy offered us the use of their kitchen to make breakfast if we wished to use it. This is an excellent place to stay to be near the bizz of Salthill. Salthill is about two minutes from the house. The parking is excellent outside the front door. Overall an excellent place to stay and we would thoroughly recommend this place for visitors to Salthill or Galway City.

  • What a splendid stay! We enjoyed our chats with Jodi and Amy. It was easy to get in touch with them and they were wonderful hosts. They even accommodated our early arrival. The room was clean, nicely decorated and the neighbourhood was very serene. The bed was so comfy, we slept like logs. The house is a scenic 15 minute walk to the city centre and right around the corner are many restaurants and coffee shops. If you are driving, there is free parking on the street. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

  • Myself and my partner spent two nights in Salthill Galway. Jodi and Amy were great hosts. They made every effort to ensure that our stay was comfortable and they were full of suggestions about how to make the most of our weekend in Galway. Also, if we had any questions, they were easily accessible and willing to help. The accommodation was clean with a comfortable bed, clean shower and use of excellent kitchen facilities. There was even high speed Wifi and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Chromecast with their TV, which was a huge bonus for us :)

    Georgina2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi & Amy's place was perfect for our long weekend in Galway. Just a couple of minutes walk from the beach and all the bars and restaurants in Salthill, and a lovely 15 minute walk from Galway City (or a 5 minute bus ride if it's raining or you've had a few more pints than you initially planned on in O'Connors). The room was great and had everything we needed, and Jodi and Amy were so accommodating and always on hand for any questions we had whilst still leaving us to it. We can't wait to come back. Thanks again guys! Dave & Emmie.

    David2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts. Clean room and restroom. About a 25 min walk to Galway city center. Around the corner from a great pub. Would come back.

  • Jodi and Amy truly embody the spirit of Irish hospitality to its fullest. They provided us with a cheerful disposition, clean accommodations and were happy to offer advice. Salthill is the perfect destination for anyone wishing to visit Galway. The promenade is beautiful and the nearby restaurants and pubs (O'Connors is a must!) allow you to feel like a local and avoid the city tourist traps. We hope to visit again soon :)

  • This flat was perfect and suited our needs for a weekend away brilliantly. Good location, 5 mins walk to the beach and not far from town. It was warm and cosy and beautifully clean. Mary was very welcoming and helpful.

  • A nice beautiful place which is ideal for a short or long stay.

  • Mary's place was fantastic. We felt at home straight away and Mary was there to help us with anything we needed. Just a 5 minute walk from the coast, with a shop across the road... the location was perfect. Mary herself was great. She was so helpful and even stocked up the kitchen with some food and drink, which was a lovely touch. We'd definitely stay here again!

    Louise2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Mike are fantastic hosts. Very welcoming! Mary showed us in and provided so many nice touches including fresh milk, OJ, bread, butter, fruit, tea and coffee. It was lovely to be able to have a bit of food before venturing out into Galway. The neighbourhood is quiet and just minutes from the main area of Salt Hill. Everything is very walkable and you can take the 401 bus into the city centre for €2.20. Salt Hill was a great choice of location as it's right on the water, has good food, coffee, and a craft bar (Oslo). Highly recommend staying at Mary & Mike's home in Salt Hill.

  • Really recommend this place, very friendly and helpful hosts, great location near the Leisure Centre in Salthill and all the facilities you'd need for a short stay. They also have a gorgeous dog (but if you don't like dogs you wouldn't need to come in contact with it!) and were kind enough to leave some toast, orange juice etc which was a lovely surprise. There was also shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hair dryer so you wouldn't need to bring your own.

    Elaine2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place was quiet and beautiful. Great views of the sunrise from the bedroom. She saw us going into town and even offered to give us a ride! Neighborhood was quiet and she's a great communicator.

  • What a great place to stay! Not only was the apartment beautiful, clean and comfortable, but Tom is an excellent host! The apartment is located just a 5 minute walk away from Quay Street, which is where all these great pubs, shops, music and entertainment is located. Tom did a great job of listing out all the best restaurants and sights that you might want to check out on your visit to Galway, so if you're unsure of where you want to eat use his guide. Tom also gave suggestions when he helped checked us in. He waited on the street in case we couldn't find the place (seriously he is the best!). Pictures of the apartment are spot on. The place looks as beautiful in person as they are in the pictures. Everything that you need was there, and if anything was needed Tom was there to address an issues. I would also recommend using the Galway Tour Company if you are trying to go to the Cliffs of Moher. Tom works for the company and ended up being our tour guide. It was a great experience with him as the guide, as he was so knowledgeable and funny. We learned a lot of the history of Ireland and the region while also laughing a lot. You will love staying in this apartment in Galway. It's a lively town filled with great food, drinks and people. I can't wait to go back and visit and stay here again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here for the Galway leg of our Ireland vacation. Tom was a gracious host, was very easy to communicate with, and spent time to show us the apartment and make sure we had everything we needed. He also had great recommendations for places to go in Galway and the surrounding regions. The apartment was newly renovated, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The location was fantastic and made for easy walking around town. Would highly recommend this spot and would stay there again if (when) we return to Galway.

This 4 story waterfront house sits in the middle of the Long Walk, one of the most famous pictures in Ireland. All windows look out onto the River Corrib, Galway Bay and across to the hills of the Burren. Right beside the Spanish Arch, 1 minute walk to Quay Street.
The house has an eclectic nautical feel. Simple and fresh. Sunny and spacious. Adorned with plants, quirky bits, essentials, collections and wildlife view. Bedroom is a double bed ensuite with shower, closet, dresser, black out shades & tea station.
Our neighbors are wonderful people who've been here for a long time. We ask you respect them and be mindful of noise outside past 11pm, in case you go to sit by the water. Regarding noise, there might be the occasional bit of banter out the window as people walk by on the Long Walk on weekends. It's usually never a problem as it's just the odd passerbys. It's not a high traffic area, just sometimes walking home themselves or enjoying a nightly stroll by the river. If you're planning to stay in the "heart of Galway," can't expect silence ;)
  • Tom and Lindsay were great and their place is beautiful. I was traveling alone on my way home from Christmas Holiday and would recommend this place for solo travelers or couples. The location is only a short walk away from most pubs and restaurants and very close to the train and coach bus station. Tom and Lindsay were kind and helpful, sharing best pubs and restaurants to go to and providing breakfast each morning. If I ever travel back to Gaway alone again, I would stay back here in a heartbeat.

    Robin2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tom & Lindsay's home was a last minute booking for us and I'm shocked it was still available so close to the check in! Our stay was absolutely amazing! Location: Fantastic location, close to everything we needed. Spent a lot of time walking around Galway and we were always close to the house. Parking: Free parking lot is located within view of the house but a short 3-4 minute walk away. The room: A very comfortable room beautifully decorated and featuring colorful tips for your stay in Galway. An abundance of towels to boot! The Hosts: Tom and Lindsay were amazing hosts who were kind and friendly throughout our entire stay. Great communication before the stay and during. Lovely breakfast and tea during the stay. They made us feel right at home!

    Craig2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Lindsay's place was the best we've stayed at in more than 2 weeks in Ireland. The photos of the room is misleading--it's much better than it appears! We were delighted with how spacious it is and how it was well stocked with amenities from soap and shampoo to body lotion and hair conditioner. Sean and Ellie also share the house. Ellie was mostly away but Sean couldn't have looked after us better. He got up early to prepare most of our breakfasts and even sent us to one of our destinations as it was along the way for him, and it was raining heavily that morning. They were friendly, warm and down to earth people who contributed to Galway being our favourite place in Ireland. We enjoyed our conversations with them! They have our highest recommendation, and their place is the only one we'd consider if we return to Galway.

    Esther2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tom & Lindsay were awesome, kind hosts. From before my arrival with Cliffs of Moher recommendations to a Irish breakfast on my departure, they made my experience in Galway truly memorable. The room itself and home had everything one would expect from a hotel and more. But, their recommendations on pubs, hikes, and a trip to the Galway Races were what made my trip.

    Colin2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and quiet location. Awesome view from the room and the kitchen. We enjoyed the nice chat with Lindsay and she also took us to a story teller event in a pub. We would love to come back here.

  • Tom and Lindsay were absolutely lovely hosts. Very welcoming and friendly. Great location in Galway, an amazing room with a stunning view! Will totally stay here again.

    Casey2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Lindsay were amazing hosts. They helped us park our car when we arrived very late at night in the pouring down rain! What a lifesaver. Their home is right on the water and an easy walk to every part of Galway. Lindsay has a list of suggested restaurants, pubs, and places for nightlife posted so you always know where to go. Just note that the stairwell to get to the room is a little narrow, so try to pack a smaller suitcase that is easy to carry up the stairs!

    Morgan2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Lindsay were fantastic hosts - very thoughtful with little touches like afternoon tea prepared for our return on a cold and windy day. The room itself is lovely - very well decorated and with beautiful views. Everything was clean and welcoming and they also had excellent suggestions for local outings and entertainment. One of our best Airbnb experiences yet. A note of caution to anyone driving - if parking out front be sure to pay and display or risk having your wheel clamped by an enthusiastic parking inspector!

A 1-bed apartment in the heart of Salthill Village looking onto Salthill promenade with panoramic views across Galway Bay & The Clare Hills. Free parking, 2 minutes walk from Upp. Salthill Road, the main strip with bus routes, taxi ranks, bars, restaurants, banks and Salthill church. The apartment is less than 2km from Galway City centre & 1km from Galway Golf Club. Salthill is an ideal hub for day trips to Connemara & The Wild Atlantic Way and The Aran Islands.
Fully refurbished apartment on the ground floor of a small apartment complex. Inside, the apartment consists of an open plan kitchen/dining room, one bedroom and one bathroom. The dual aspect living/dining room does look out onto the infamous "Galway Prom" and has some window views of the bay and the Clare hills across. The living/dining area has a large pull-out sofa-bed type sofa, additional chairs, a coffee table, a t.v. and a breakfast table which cleverly extends out if required to accommodate 4 people. The bedroom has one double bed and ample wardrobe space.
  • Easy walk into Galway City and easy access West to Wild Atlantic Way and beyond.

    Paul2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our host, Paul, was a great communicator. In addition to providing general information about local pubs and restaurants, he was happy to answer specific questions about entertainment, parking and anything else related to Galway and the apartment. When we had problems, he took reasonable steps to resolve them. The location is great, and it does indeed have views of the Salthill Promenade. The promenade is a fun walk and led us one day into the Latin Quarter and of Galway. Traffic in Galway is abominable, but the Salthill area is not as crazy. The apartment is on a very quite side street with almost no traffic. There is a big, free parking lot nearby that always seemed to have lot of space. The apartment is on the ground floor, so loading and unloading was quite easy. My wife and I did find the apartment to be smaller than expected. We were so surprised that we both had to look at the listing’s photos again. The photos are accurate, but they were taken with a wide angle lens that seems to expand the space. I don’t know that there was any intent to deceive. Small spaces are difficult to capture without wide angle lenses and Paul may just have wanted to give a sense of the entire room. We would not recommend it for 4 people—it’s OK for two. The apartment is listed as fully refurbished. At one time, this may have been the case—I consider that term to mean that everything is in great working order and that was not the case. For example, the Venetian blinds are partly broken and the pull cord on the bathroom heater worked to turn it on, but not off. Most of these are minor inconveniences, just not what I expected from the description.

    Antonio2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Location. Location. Location. Best location in Galway. Next to beach, aquarium, Salt Hill restaurants and pubs, casinos, and only 1.4 kilos to the treasured Latin District.

  • Paul's house was exactly as it looked on the website. It was very clean, homely and the location was beautiful, right beside the sea. Galway city is a nice walk away, especially along the coast road is lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

  • The apartment was perfect for my husband and I. It was clean, comfortable, and centrally located. The bed was comfortable, which is a must! We walked to downtown Galway one day and it was an easy walk. The street behind the apartment is filled with shops, bars and dining. Close too the water too!

It's a great little apartment with a very homely feel. We enjoy people and always up for conversation! You will need to contact me in advance of your arrival as the complex is gated without an intercom. If no phone we can arrange a meeting place
Salthill is a fabulous place to live. It has a hint of village life but yet it's on the edge of the city and boasts some of the finests restaurants in the country.
  • There is a certainty when it comes to Airbnb. If you're traveling to the Galway area, please make every attempt to stay with Martin! He was such a great host to my wife and I. He picked us up from the bus station in the city center, which in itself is great for people who have never been to Galway. He also assisted us with our luggage to our room. He provided so many recommendations to us for Dinner and Drinks, all of which were spectacular. His home was very clean and pleasant. The room was very well decorated, had it's own private bath and he provided extra towels, blankets and sheets for us. To top it off, when he found out it was our 2nd wedding anniversary, Martin had a bottle of champagne waiting for us on our last night! But there was more. The restaurant in Salt Hill that we went to for our anniversary had 2 glasses of champagne waiting for us when we arrived. We had not given them any indication that it was our anniversary. The only other person that knew this was Martin. He had called ahead and told them. What a guy!!! Martin is a wonderful person and we couldn't have asked for more! We hope that if he makes it to Chicago one day, we can meet up and show him the same hospitality he showed us. Don't know if that's possible though.

    Teddy2015-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we never made it to Martin's place because as we missed our bus to Galway and had to stay overnight in another town, however Martin was very kind and understanding towards us and our situation. Even though we didn't have a chance to stay at Matrin's apartment and can not objectively comment on that, there is no doubt that he is a great host and will do everything to make your stay better. We can not be more thankful!

    Anna2014-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Galway late in the night and Martin was waiting for us. He was very friendly and communicative. Apartment is very cosy and it is situated very close to the sea so we could have breakfast on the embankment. Way to the city center takes time, but it runs along embankment so it is a nice walk. For lazy people bus stop to the city center is in 2 minutes from apartment))). The street is full of pubs and restaurants.

    Natalia2014-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Martin is a superb host, he went out of his way to pick us up and take us to the apartment. The room is homely, spacious and comfortable. The apartment is also kept perfectly clean. Martin is a great host friendly, welcoming and has loads of recommendations for places to go / eat whether in Salthill or Galway city centre.

    Kane2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice flat in perfect location, 15 minutes walking to galway, friendly host, own tidy bathroom

    Lisa2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and me spontaneously decided to stay in Galway for a night, and Martin responded very quickly to our request. Meeting up was just as easy, if we had waited a while longer in the city centre he even would have given us a lift to his place. Since we preferred to drop our things off earlier, we met up with his boyfriend, who let us in and provided us with all we needed. The location is easily reachable by bus from the city. Even though we accidentally got off too early, walking a few stations is no big deal - everything is pretty snug and the area is so nice that walking is a pleasure. We hadn't quite gotten used to the early dinner times in Ireland yet and were left with little choice of food at 9pm, but thanks to Martin's recommendations we found a place and some great beer with it. He also managed to convince us to take a bus tour to Connemara the next day, of which we were initially skeptical - we tried to avoid doing tourist-y things - but it turned out to be a great tip and the perfect way to spend a day during our short trip through Ireland. Martin was friendly and welcoming, and his room was great: clean, with a bathroom and shower attached to the guest room, and a nice view over the Salthill roofs. We only spent a night there, but we would have loved to stay a few days longer!

    Hannah Lora2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Martin's place for two nights (way too short!) and would have loved to stay longer because Martin is such a lovely and caring host. He picked us up from the bus station and was very supportive already prior to our arrival. You can have great and interesting conversations with him! Clean and cozy apartment and we felt very much like home. Right next to the beautiful sea. We can strongly recommend Martin's apartment and Galway as an attraction itself as well as an gateway for other attractions around the west coast ( you can easily spend a whole week in that region!) Thanks again Martin!!!

Located in the heart of Galway's famous medieval Latin Quarter, my home is the perfect place for the intrepid traveller to stay during their time in Galway. Within walking distance of the train and bus terminals, Galway's best restaurants and bars, and the university- this is one of the most convenient locations for any visitor wishing to experience all Galway has to offer. Decorated with beautiful original artwork by local artists, you can make this place your Galway home away from home
Slap bang in the middle of town, yet tucked enough away to be peaceful at night, this place is ideal for anyone looking to explore all Galway has to offer. Ditch the car, everything is within walking distance- restaurants, pubs, shops and bus and train terminals. The apartment is simple yet cool, decorated with with up-cycled furniture, original art-work and furnishings lugged back from far-flung corners of the world. I'm a bibliophile, so there are a lot of books which you are welcome to flick through during your stay. The bedroom is pretty minimalist, offering a calm and serene space to lay your head down for the night. Crisp white Egyptian cotton sheets on the bed. Wardrobe and closet space is available to hang your things during your stay.
This place is about as central and convenient as you can get. Within five minutes walking distance of basically everything! Around the corner from Quay Street, where you can sit and have a pint at Tigh Neachtain and watch the world go by, before heading to one of Galway's many fine restaurants for a slap-up dinner. Fancy some oysters or a big bowl of Connemara mussels? The renowned Seafood Bar @ Kirwan's Lane is only over the road! Our lovely neighbours there, Ailbhe and the team, will look after you well! Over the bridge then to the Bierhaus for a cocktail or a craft beer and in the the Blue Note for a bit of a boogie... Coffee from coffeewerk and press in the morning, or maybe over to Petit Delice for some buttery French Croissants! All of this on your doorstep- no taxis and no faffing around. You are already there.

Right on the pulse of the city's vibrant heartbeat, close to the many fine restaurants and local retailers, this cosy apartment still offers a quiet haven away from the buzz of the streets. Quay Street, Cross Street and Shop Street are right on your doorstep, for shopping, dining, and nightlife. Also nearby is the historic Spanish Arch, City Museum, and world famous Druid Theatre, validating Galway City's selection as The European Capital of Culture 2020. On arrival why not visit the wonderful Tea Shop downstairs (An Cupan Tae), where you can plan your itinerary over scones, or sample the flavours of the East with dinner at Kumar's Asian restaurant across the street, a hat tip to the Spice Traders at the Spanish Arch from five centuries ago. In 1755, the arches were partially destroyed by the tsunami generated by the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Until 2006, part of the Arch housed the Galway City Museum. At that time, the museum was moved to a new, dedicated building located just behind the Arch. All this, on your doorstep. (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN)
  • Garrett was very helpful and quick to reply to any questions at all times, the apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos, clean and cosy with all amenties, a truly fantastic location (all transport options and tours are only a very short walk away), in the city centre but also quiet :). I asked for a late check out to store my bag which was no problem, and the little extras that Garrett provided (breakfast, cake, coffee etc) were a very special touch.

  • Garrett's apartment was in the best possible location for a visit to Galway. It was so close to shops, pubs, restaurants and attractions, and was only a short walk from the train station. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Garrett was easy to get in touch with and helped with any problems, as well as giving plenty of recommendations. Highly recommend!

  • Great location and a clean and nice room. We went to Ard Bia at Nimmos restaurant just a 100m from the apartment and had a fantastic meal. We negotiated car parking at the Spanish Arch carpark for 10 Euro per night.

This is not just a simple town house. Three stories up, tucked away on top of Galway's skyline and seconds from one of the most vibrant and magical parts of the city you will find the ZenDen. A unique, self catering location that is sure to impress.
This truly is a unique location. My home is a Town House situated on the top floor of a three storey complex that sits on Galway’s skyline, so please be prepared to climb the three flights of stairs to your room. It also has it’s own roof terrace with seating area which comes to life in the spring and summer months. As for location, it does not get more central. In less than a ten second walk from my door, you will have reached Quay street, the most lively and vibrant area of Galway also known as the latin Quarter. This is in my opinion the most vibrant and magical part of the city and the ZenDen is like a hidden Utopia in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Your room will have a standard double bed available. All pillows and duvets are filled with duck and down and with very comfortable mattress. I make the bed's as comfortable as possible so I am sure you will have a beautiful nights rest. want people to feel like they are in a home away from home, so please do make yourself feel at home.
The house is situated seconds from the most lively and vibrant part of Galway and if I may say so myself has a very unique feel. Seconds after leaving the ground entrance door you will be immersed by the energy that is Galway. There is a vast array of restaurants on the doorstep, not to mention the pubs. A short walk down Quay Street brings you to my favourite area the Spanish Arch and the fast flowing waters of the river Corrib. I believe this area to be the real heart of this magical city and I am sure on arrival you will too.
  • Dara is very kind, helpful, and will answer to all your needs. Room is also very clean and the global atmosphere of the house is relaxing.

  • Great host, very friendly and accommodating. Zen Den is indeed in the heart of Galway but tucked away from the main street so the noise isn't so bad.

  • Dara was really helpful when suggesting places to go in the city. The accommodation couldn't be located in a better place and was really clean too. It was pretty cold outside so having a heater in the room was perfect for us. Dara was super welcoming and always willing to help and assist us in whatever we needed. Thanks a lot! We wouldn't hesitate to go back there if we're ever in Galway again.

Beautiful light and airy bedsit in super location. Two minutes walk from the village of Salthill, it's situated in a quite residential cul de sac. The studio is completely separate from the main house so it's very private. It has a lovely new bathroom and tea & coffee making facilities.. We are both from Galway so would love to help with recommendations on what to do, where to visit and where to eat.
Lovely calm, comfortable studio close to all amenities. Walking distance to Salthill village (2 minutes) with all it has to offer, the prom, beaches, shops, restaurants, cafes..also walking distance to Galway city ( 20 mins walk) or easily accessed by bus/ taxi. After some issues with wifi we have changed provider and fitted a wifi extender to ensure the issue was resolved! House rules.. High spec property, located adjacent to the main house where children live and set in a residential street so guests are expected to behave responsibly and with respect. No smoking/candles/live flames. No parties/loud music. The studio has its own entrance and is accessed via a side gate and through the garden.
We are located in Salthill, 2 minutes walk from the village and close to the city. Salthill is a beautiful seaside village boasting many cafes, bars and restaurants. It has a beautiful prom and many sandy beaches. Galway city is a five minute drive or twenty minute walk.
  • Great private space in central Salthill! Close to the seaside and local hotspots like Famous O'Connor's Pub and Oslo. A nice 20 minute walk (or a quick 5 minute taxi) to tourist centers in Galway like the Latin Quarter. Gives you a real sense of how the locals live! Didn't meet Louise, but her husband Johnny showed us the space and was very welcoming.

    Alexandra2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Louise's place is very clean and private. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only difficulties were the hot water and the WiFi were both not very good. However, the location was great and we would recommend staying here.

  • Beautiful apartment fire which the photos don't do justice. Very modern and clean. Location couldn't be better, especially being a stone's throw from the famous O'Connors pub. Hosts extremely helpful and personable. Can't fault whatsoever.

    Stephen2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Louise and Johnny's place was a perfect stay for us while in Salthill. It was very conveniently located to all the amenities and the promenade. It was exactly as described, with everything clean and homely. We couldn't have asked for better for our stay and would definitely recommend anyone to book their stay here too! Thanks again Louise and Johnny!

  • Bedroom was clean, albeit a bit small but the bed was quite comfortable and got some decent sleep between exploring Aran Islands and a little of Galway. Didn't have too much interaction with hosts but when we did, it was pleasant and Claire was very nice and helpful in getting me sorted for my stay and helped me get an issue sorted finding an electronics store. Nice place for Galway. A little outside the city but within walking distance I think (I had a car so didn't walk it). Recommend.

    Casey2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly and welcoming. House and room very clean and very well arranged. I would definitely recommend.

  • This is my second visit with Eimear and Claire, and once again I enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Claire was very welcoming, and was always ready to offer a hot cup of tea and something to eat. I would definitely return here if my travels bring me to Galway again.

  • Claire was a great host and the house was lovely and clean. Location was also great. Only 5 mins walk to Salthill strip

    Josh2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house in fair Salthill! Claire was most welcoming and friendly, the room well furnished, tidy and quiet. It was a ideal place for the Arts Festival, as the center is easily reached by a 30-min walk or by bus, the nice pubs around the Small Crane are but 20 min away. Still you stay in a quiet place to relax on the evening. I was very happy to stay at this place!

Recently covered in 'Ireland's Sunday Business Post,' for its newly completed modern renovation, our place is 2 minutes walk from Salthill's beaches, nightlife and restaurants. It is a 25 minute walk or 5 min drive to the City Center. It is a 3 minute walk from Leisureland's gym and pool. You'll enjoy the outdoor space, the neighbourhood, the light, the comfy beds and the modern kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and large groups.
Ultra modern open, light filled space newly renovated in July 2016!
Best place to stay in Ireland without a doubt!
  • We enjoyed this clean modern home close to the promenade. Quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed meeting the neighbor. The walk along the beach was the best part of our trip to Galway. We also like how close the grocery store was (just a few minutes from this home). I highly recommend this home to future travelers. 5 *****

    Tanya2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is amazing and the location is perfect in Salthill. Very easy walk to all the restaurants and bars, but just of the beaten path so it's quiet. We had six adults staying there and everybody was very comfortable. Diarmuid was great accommodating our last minute request, the only hiccup we had was his mom coming over and letting herself in because she didn't know the place was rented. Disembodied dealt with this quickly, and we ended up having a great conversation with his mom, so all was good in the end.

We really much enjoyed this beautiful home and would recommend it to everyone.

I wish I could move this house to Donegal for the summer it's amazing! We will definitely be back again!

  • A perfect place to explore Galway, Salthill and the Prom. We enjoyed staying at this freshly renovated home. The pictures were very accurate. The Salthill Park across the street was a great find for our family and O'Connor's (of "Galway Girl") was a low key pub among some great shops and restaurants. Trad on the Prom (an Irish Danicing Show) plays at the nearby Leisure Land. We loved visiting Galway and walking along the Prom enjoying the views of Galway Bay.

  • This is a great house to stay at if you are visiting Galway! The hosts are very friendly. We were greeted by Angela's mom. She was incredibly nice and showed us the house and answered any questions! The house is exactly like the photos and very clean. It perfectly accommodates a large number of people. The only small thing to be aware of is it is about at 25 minute walk into the city center but can be accessed by bus.

  • We (a family with nine persons, 3 Generations from 2 to 60 years) really enjoyed our Holidays in Angelas house. It's a beautiful house in Salthill. Perfect for Familys. It's a on a quite accommondation but it's close to the seaside, to beautiful restaurants, the leisure land, the aquarium, the bus station and in a half an hour walk, you are in the city center of Galway. There's all you Need. It was wonderful. Angela and her mother, which gave us the keys and showed us the house, are really nice and they gave us also some useful hints for a comfortable stay. I can highly recommand this house to all Familys or large groups. Thank you very much

Really appreciated the warm welcome upon arrival and all the essentials thoughtfully provided including tea, coffee, milk, butter, hairdryer, microwave, umbrella, all utensils, iron, heating, TV and even toothpicks to make our one week stay very comfortable indeed. The unit was very cosy and in a fantastic location with everything within a few minutes walking distance. • The Galway houseboat is certainly unique and an interesting stay. We had terrible weather for the 3 days we were there unfortunately which wasn't ideal. Good weather would make it much more enjoyable. Julia was very efficient, helpful and friendly. Thank you!

    Graham 2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Laura Lucy is a day-trip boat converted into a comfortable and quirky place to stay. It is exactly the type of place you hope to find on AirBnB! It is located a ten minute walk to the centre of town, in a private mooring with two other boats away from the main marina, so it is very quiet and only overlooked by a few student flats. You can park on the grass right next to the boat which is great in a city with mainly paid parking. Julia met us and showed us around and gave us some great tips for the local area and restaurants. We highly recommend Oscars Seafood Bistro (which also does great options for non-pescatarians) - amazing food and very friendly staff - and Ard Bia at Nimmos just a minute or two away under the Spanish Arch for the perfect brunch. Although it was early February and very cold, the Laura Lucy was lovely and warm and cosy, and we had a fabulous night's sleep in the huge bed (though I would describe both mattresses as soft as opposed to firm, but very comfy). It was very quiet aboard at night, just a few creaks from the ropes and clanks and water noises, but once you were used to them it was barely noticeable. The bathroom facilities are basic as you would expect of a boat - a pump toilet and a small basic shower, but perfectly functional. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans and stove and even some cereals and instant coffee for breakfast. It was a lovely place to sit on a sunny morning, and I can imagine breakfast on the deck would be fabulous in warmer weather. If your priority in accommodation is an experience and fun rather than 5* luxury then I highly recommend the Laura Lucy. We will certainly stay again if we come back to Galway. A perfect trip!

  • Loved the accommodation, very convenient to the main bars and restaurants and Julia was very helpful! Would recommend for anyone looking for something a little bit different in Galway city at any time of year.

  • Staying on the Laura Lucy was definitely the best way to experience Galway. The boat is located literally a block from the heart of the city, but because it's on the water the hustle and bustle from town slips away. Julia was very accessible and her neighbor David was incredibly friendly as well. We found Galway to be a young and vibrant city, that really embraces both the new and old of Irish culture. Tons of great food and Traditional Irish music in the pubs. Highly recommend The Crane (a bit divey downstairs, but the music jam session was incredible), and Nimmo's for a nice night out. Also, if you get a good clear night I recommend grabbing a drink at the off license, sitting on the pier, and simply watching the sun set (we saw a sea otter enjoying dinner at the same time).

  • We had a wonderful time on board the Laura Lucy. The boat is super comfortable and its location is amazing: two minutes walk from the hub of Galway. Bed was really comfy, and the boat had everything we needed. Julia and Brett were great hosts - really friendly and helpful. Thanks for an amazing stay - we'll be back again.

  • Great location, very close to the center of Galway. The boat was certainly a unique place to stay.

  • We had a great stay on the Laura Lucy. Instructions on finding the boat were straight forward. Getting access was timely and easy. All communications with Julia and Brett were fast and all worked well. The boat is more spacious that the photos and presents a unique experience which shouldn't be missed. You can park easily right near the boat and you are literally 5 minutes away from the Spanish Arch - and very close to the city. We would love to stay in the middle of summer and experience the upper deck for cocktails. Maybe next time?? Thoroughly recommend this Airbnb for something a little different!

This is a lovely room located in lower Salthill . The centre of the city is a short walk, approx 10mins. The house is also situated within the laid back seaside neighbourhood of Salthill, with many excellent pubs and restaurants only 5mins away. You can easily walk to the beach - 5 mins .There is a shop also situated across the road from the house . City bus outside
  • Our night went very well. Darvin welcomed us and treated us like princes throughout the stay. Very attentive to his guests, he prepared a perfect breakfast! The apartment is only 10 minutes walk from the town center and the beach. And if ever, a bus stop is at the foot of the building. We chatted around a cup of tea. Do not hesitate, very good value =) en Français : Notre nuit s'est très bien passé.

  • We spent one night in Galway and the place was perfect for us. Check-in was very easy, the room was not immensly big, but comfy and clean and the host is nice. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Clean, small room in walkable distance to Galway city center. The bed was a little worn and the location is directly at a streat with traffic. Not so quiet but a good value overall. The breakfast was great!

  • A fine place to stay, if you don't need much this would suit fine. Walls are thin as mentioned in other comments. It was a bit noisy when others came back at night. Bedroom was clean though smelled of damp.
