  • Lovely apartment with a great view of the River Ness. The apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable. There were lovey little touches throughout the apartment and there was cereal, bread, and staples available for us. Rebecca was quick to respond to inquiries and had great tips in the apartment for local restaurants, etc. The apartment is a short walk to pubs, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Had a wonderful stay here! Very clean, perfect location in the centre and close to pretty much everything. Rebecca is a fantastic host, always replied really fast if I had any questions and was very kind to help me out. The studio is cozy, has everything you might need AND offers a gorgeous view over the river from the kitchen, what else could you want? Look no further, this place is perfect for a stay in Inverness! Also very close to public transit, and almost next door to a pub called The Waterfront, which I highly recommend as well. Thank you Rebecca for a great first stay while in Scotland!

  • This is our second time to this wonderful flat. Everything you need Is here as it is so well equipped. Angela is a fantastic host who is very attentive and makes sure your stay is an enjoyable one. We went to the Riverside just on the corner from the flat and I have to say it was the best food we have tasted in a long time. Well worth a visit. Will definitely be back. Thank you for having us.

  • Wee Ness cottage was perfect. It had absolutely everything we needed and more (some lovely personal touches). The location is perfect as it is so central. Couldn’t ask for more. We felt very welcome on arrival and had some great tips for lovely places to visit! Thank you!

  • Quaint cottage. All the amenities you can ask for. Very very close to the supermarket! A few steps to the River Ness. Quiet, peaceful, centrally located. A home away from home. The Wee Ness Cottage is a diamond in disguise!

  • Very nice and cosy cottage near the river Ness. Joep was a excellent host, very helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again!

    Ximena2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hosts. They responded quickly and helped with everything we needed from leading up to our visit all the way to when we left. They are very accommodating and made recommendations for where we could visit. They had teas coffee sugar and milk with biscuits on our arrival. The cottage was beautiful and clean within a fantastic location so very easy to walk to places. I can’t say enough how pleased we were!

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline and Joep's place was lovely! Joep met us at the door for check-in (although you can check in independently as well) and gave us a tour of the property. He mentioned everything you'd need to know from the heating to their very cool electric shower and towel warmer. They have some great amenities such as tea and coffee to start you out with on your stay. They also have a washer in the home and then a dryer just a few steps away in a shed in the courtyard. The shed with the dryer was also super clean and had some extra clothes lines for hanging up delicates. Their home was super clean and had such cute images of hairy coos on the walls, which my friend and I personally loved. There are plenty of cozy blankets to use in the living room/bedroom. The TV situation was also great with cable options and an option to cast from your device to the TV. The location is fantastic - right next to the River Ness. It's close to all the city's restaurants and shops too. Just a two minute walk away is the local Tesco (so convenient) and their home is a ten minute walk away from the bus station/train station. Would highly reccomend their home for your stay in Inverness!

2 double bedroom, 2 bathroom riverside modern flat with private parking, outside space, 5 mins walk to city centre. Spring mattresses with down toppers, down duvets/pillows and luxury cotton linens. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, cereals, bread, marmalade, jam for breakfast. Unlimited download internet. Ideal for a city break for two couples or business trip to the highland capital.
My flat is on the river side with lovely views out onto the river with plenty of outside seating, plants, flowers and space to enjoy the vistas and the sound of the Ness flowing by. All mod cons equipped kitchen - espresso maker, washing machine/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, bar style dining table, walnut work surfaces. Shared communal close to access the flat. Good, friendly neighbours. Situated 5 minutes walk from the city centre - close to all amenities. On-site private parking. Bright, light and airy, clean and tidy place to stay.
Riverview is situated in the centre of Inverness in a quiet cul de sac just off one of the main traffic routes in the city. Surprisingly it is very quiet. Riverview is a block of 38 flats, 29 of which are privately owned with the remaining 9 housing association. There are some owner-occupiers, though most of the flats are rented out - some to long term tenants and some like what I'm doing with airbnb, to short-term visitors. Inverness is a city and I'm not blind to its faults but after having lived here for 10 years I find the people open and friendly, more friendly and inquisitive of strangers than you might find in a larger city down south. People are less suspicious and generally open to helping out whatever the situation. Tourism is one of the biggest income generators in the region so everyone is well used to visitors.
  • Amanda's place is conveniently situated - 10 minute walk from lots of restaurants and bars in the city, can also walk to the castle. The walk by the river is pleasant. Her living room opens to amazing river views where you can watch sunrise and sunset. The place is sparkling clean, and she was so kind as to fully stock her kitchen for us. We really enjoyed her home - thumbs up and five stars!

    Sharmin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place is cosy, very clean and welcoming. Check in was easy and we got so much information on how everything works- so, it was all very simple. Communication was nice, quick and efficient. The apartment is situated close to Inverness city centre- you can walk there in about 10 mins. There is a great Fish & Chips shop just across the bridge. On site parking was very convenient. The apartment is well equipped and it is a quiet neighborhood. We would definitely come and stay again. Highly recommended !

  • Love, love loved it! Beautiful river outside, extremely comfortable place to stay. Warm, quiet and yet near enough to town and the amenities. Inverness is a beautiful place, and I would really suggest having a wander on the islands in the middle of the river Ness - truly special.

    Carey2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place! If you want to stay in the view is stunning and the apartment is cozy. If you want to explore the location can’t be beat as there are numerous historical sites, shops, and restaurants to choose from, many within walking distance if you don’t want to drive. Amanda gave thorough and detailed instructions that made our stay easy and stress-free. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with the essentials and the apartment was clean and tidy. I highly recommend staying here and hope to come back again!

  • Paula's place was brilliant, great value for money and great location, Flat was clean and welcoming, beds were comfy and the shower was great. There was construction work happening down stairs but as long as you wake up before 8am this shouldn't be a problem.

    Rajiv2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A particularly special airbnb. Great location for discovering the northern tip of Scotland and central to Inverness. Walking distance to the river and some pubs and restaurants. The house itself is just excellent! Paula has some "wow" small touches...from Scottish decor to sky TV and even rosemary scented water chilling in the fridge. Warm, cosy and super clean and well presented. Snap this 1 up if you can!

Small but cosy attic room in an 18th century Highland fisherman's cottage. Very near to the Fairy Glen RSPB reserve, Groam House Pictish Museum, beach (with the most northerly resident pods of bottlenose dolphins in Britain), and bus stop. The Plough Inn is yards away for drinks and meals, as is the Rosemarkie Beach Cafe, and Crofters Bistro. I have a pretty woodland garden, full of birds. A peaceful spot, you are welcome to sit in it for breakfast or just to relax. Make yourselves at home.
Stay in a little bit of history...and the garden is like a mini wildlife reserve. If you are staying a few nights and the weather is mild, you are welcome to use the kettle barbecue. You can choose between a double bed or two singles.

Its beautiful sandy beach is backed by red sand cliffs which provide nesting sites of fulmars and jackdaws. The beach has a cafe and play park and is a great place for families. The beautiful Fairy Glen can be found behind the beach cliffs . Markie burn runs through the Glen which has deep pools and waterfalls that can be seen from the path. The village is well known for its pictish stones which are now house in the Groam House Museum found on the high street. Chanonry Point can be found between Rosemarkie and the neighbouring village of Fortrose. It is a popular place to visit to catch a sight of dolphins. This narrow peninsula is an ideal location with views across the Moray Firth to Fort George where you are unlikely to miss any sightings. Less than 2 miles away is Fortrose which has an award winning 18 hole Golf Club.

  • A great host - highly recommend!

    Jolene2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location and minutes from the beach, Claire’s place is exceptionally clean and tidy, and the hamper was gratefully received after hours of travelling, such a great touch. We had a few problems with hot water but this is not Claire’s fault, these things happen and I am sure this will be resolved for the next guests. Communication form Claire was great from start to finish.

  • Claire is a great host, her place is amazing and I would highly recommend.

    Jolene2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's home is just beautiful, in a nice and quiet location, ideal for families like us. We enjoyed our days there a lot!

    Alberto2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's place was lovely and very inviting. It was about minutes outside of Inverness and honestly it was much better than staying in the city. Rosemarkie is a very quiet sea side town with a beach and trails. The house was immaculate. The fireplace was adorable and easy to use. The bread and milk was super thoughtful! We would absolutely stay again!

    Jessica2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great spot for exploring the Black Isle and surrounding highland. Also a short trip into Inverness is handy where you can find anything and everything. A lovely cottage very well kept.

    Sarah2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the middle of Rosemarkie, everything you can think of catered for by Claire. We attended an event at the Gordon Memorial Hall one night of our stay so this place was perfect!

Rose Cottage, a traditional Scottish cottage, is older than 200 years. Despite it's age, Rose Cottage has modern amenities, but keeps that sense of history with a cosy traditional interior. Rose Cottage is an ideal holiday home whether you want to relax in the comfort of the cottage and its gardens, want to take walks nearby or want to travel and explore the Black Isle and beyond. Rosemarkie itself is a picturesque village and Rose Cottage is in the centre of the oldest and prettiest part.
The kitchen/dinning area, lounge and toilet room are downstairs. The two bedrooms and bath/shower room are upstairs. The cottage is heated by an oil fired central heating system. Fresh bed clothes and towels for each guest are supplied. Both bedrooms have a double bed with electric blanket and guest wardrobe and drawer space. One of the bedrooms has two additional singles beds. One bed collapses and is stored under the the other. The space where these beds are placed under the sloping ceiling and their size means that both of these beds are more suitable for children than adults. In between the bedrooms, the bathroom has a bath and over the bath electric shower. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, electric oven, combination microwave oven, toaster, kettle, washing machine and all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery you may need. The lounge with a flame effect stove is comfortable and cosy. Vintage crockery and ornaments are on display and the books (some very old) are there to be read. There is no TV signal, but along with some board games... there is a selection of DVDs in the wall cupboard. In the porch there is seating for four. Don't get to comfortable! The day can easily drift past while you are sat there thinking about... thinking about planning the day. Both the front and back gardens are there to be enjoyed by guests. Children should be supervised in the back garden as there is no gate to the main road. There is no internet and mobile phone and data reception in the cottage is best described as intermittent.
The small stream (burn) running past Rose Cottage and down to the beach comes from the Fairy Glen. The entrance to the Fairy Glen, with its mill pond and waterfalls, is only 3 minutes walk from the front door of the Cottage. The beach is 5 minutes walk in the opposite direction. The local bar, The Plough Inn, is even closer. A short walk will take you past the Fortrose & Rosemarkie Links Golf course and to Chanonry Point, home to one of the largest community of Dolphins in the British Isles. The village of Rosemarkie has a couple of restaurants and a local store. Neighbouring villages have more to offer. The village of Cromarty is home to a community of artists, including the Cromarty Pottery. The increasingly popular and well known Black Isle Brewery can be found in the village of Munlochy.

  • My stay in Alness was great, Eleanor is a lovely host, kind and warm hearted. The accommodation is everything you need, a cosy and well located. The town is only a 10 minute walk, there are also some very good walking and cycling routes too. A walk uptown the Fyish monument on a clear day is fantastic, you get a great appreciation of the Moraty and the beatiful surrounding countryside. I am looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you Eleanor.

The cottage is in the Crown area of Inverness. Eden Court theatre, the museum, sports centre, ice rink and golf course are some of the places close by that can be visited. A boat trip on Loch Ness and a chance to see the Loch Ness Monster !! is a must. This can be booked at the nearby Tourist Board. Golfers should take advantage and play some of the best courses in Scotland. Royal Dornoch, Castle Stuart, Nairn and Spey Valley to name a few. Plenty to do to cater for all interests in and around Inverness.
  • Great place- clean, good location, nice amenities, excellent location. Would stay again!

  • Its no less than a hotel room with all the necessary amenities. Amazing place and a very accommodating host!

    Neha2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect! The room was everything described and more. Janette looks after you and the room was so comfortable and clean that it made our trip to Inverness 10 times better! You get a good night's sleep, it is accessible to town and a perfect place for a get away.

    Sainimili2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    Marcela2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our short stay was very pleasant. The room is very comfortable, clean and Janette provides a kettle, tea and coffee by the bed. The room has a lock and Janette comes regularly to do a little cleaning (empty the trash, etc.) Attention, travelers do not normally have access to the kitchen (even if Janette has kindly agreed to let us eat there simple when present). The proximity to the city center is also very pleasant!

    Béatrice2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Janette went above and beyond to ensure we were extremely comfortable for our brief stay! The room was immaculate, bedding very nice, towels very fluffy (my favourite!). She is an extremely kind and helpful woman and made sure we had parking, knew how to access our rooms, and knew where we were going and what to do. Despite this being a room in a shared cottage, this was more private than some hotel rooms/‘entire place’ stays with AirBnB that I’ve had before. Hands down the best stay for the price that you’ll ever find!

Lonnie Farmhouse. Beautiful farm house in tranquil countryside just 5 minutes drive from the airport and 10 minutes drive into town. Guests leaving Scotland for a short holiday and have booked the night before departure as well as a night on their return may leave their vehicles at my home for the duration of their holiday, at no additional cost. Please follow the directions you will be sent from me rather than following the sat nav.
Cozy bedroom with double bed and a private full bathroom. The only visitor you may get is Finn, the cat. She loves meeting people and could try her luck with trying to get a cuddle. The perfect stay over for when you have an early flight from Inverness airport.
My home is a 5 minute drive from the airport and 10 minute drive into town. A rural area so there are no close neighbours but it is the ideal place to go for a walk or to see if you can spot the deer or even a fox.
  • Our expectations were exceeded at this farm house! Spotless bedroom and bathroom- HUGE bathtub/shower. The view was breathtaking. We only stayed one night, but I would love to come back to stay longer. *if you are a cat lover this is a place for you* she has a little cat named Finn who loves cuddles and pets if you left the door open for her! As I was missing my fur babies this was a welcome extra!!! Do yourself a favor and go ahead and book here to stay in Inverness.

  • Cheryl offers you a really lovely and cozy room for your stay. It's clean and comfy. Cheryl gave us a warm welcome and we felt very comfortable during the whole time. The room is private, great looking, and extremely comfortable.

As so many reviews note, Hayley's enthusiasm and positive energy shine through the entire space and Steve's caretaking of the stunning gardens and bird feeders allows a traveller to feel sanctuary after long but wonderful days exploring. • We've recently returned from a week's stay in this cottage. Cottage was clean and tidy on arrival and in a great location for us ~ easy to get to other places, good wildlife on the doorstep etc. There was some road noise especially with farm vehicles but nothing that detracted from our break and easy to pull our car in off the road so no concerns there. we found the cottage comfy with plenty of space and lots of thoughtful touches to make for a relaxing stay. We would stay again.

    Claire2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Langlands Cottage offers the best of both worlds at a reasonable price. A charming cottage right on the bank of the Cromarty Firth in the small village of Jemimaville. Nestled in the countryside next to the tidal Firth that attracts abundant birds. Inside is modern, elegant and offers the best of day-to-day comforts; comfortable beds, efficient heating, boundless hot water, a large modern kitchen with top of the range appliances. The bustling village of Cromarty is only minutes away while Inverness can be reached in under thirty minutes. It was the ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. But also a convenient base for exploring the beauty and diversity of the Black Isle and the Highlands.

Just a few minutes walk from the unique and atmospheric Clava Cairns, inspiration behind Craigh Na Dun of Outlander, on the banks of the river Nairn and under the looming Culloden Viaduct. Deer and wild birds visit often. Crafted in wood, inspired by Scotland, Scandinavia and nature.
We have newly created an ecologically friendly “tiny house” from a fully insulated former office (with electric heating). The modern double Murphy bed folds away in the morning to free up space for breakfast at the fold-up table. Water is pumped from a clean tank to a custom made timber sink inside the tiny house for dishes and washing, with a large urn of drinking water provided. There is a fridge, microwave/grill, kettle and toaster so you will be able to create basic meals for yourself. There will be a small selection of microwaveable ready meals with an honesty box in the room. Bread, cereal and porridge are provided for breakfast. Milk, butter/spread and jams will be in the fridge. The toilet is a custom designed Wee Hoose compost toilet, which saves thousands of litres of water a year. It is situated in an adjoining room directly outside the tiny house and it should be noted that the toilet room will be cold during the winter months as it is not heated.* The river Nairn is so close you will be able to hear it from the room. The arches of the viaduct are only a few hundred metres from the room entrance. There is a lovely river walk circuit nearby to enjoy both. Clava Cairns is a short stroll away so can be visited as often as you like to fully absorb the atmosphere and watch the changing light on the stones. *please note there is no shower at the Tiny House
Clava Cairns - 5 minutes walk Culloden Battlefield - 25 minutes walk Bus stop to city - 20 minutes walk Culloden Viaduct - 3 minutes walk Culloden Moor Inn (great pub for food!) - 20 minutes walk Inverness city - 15 minutes drive Inverness airport - 10-15 minutes drive
  • This tiny house at clava cairns is very cute and well thought-out with everything you need. Great location to visit clava cairns and the culloden battlefield. We had a good meal at the culloden moor inn. Thanks for a great nights stop over.

  • If you like the more rustic, this is perfect. The arrival is done independently. The directions from the host to find the building are very clear. The host is extremely responsive and available. The cabin is rustic, green toilet outside. Small clean place, nothing is lacking. Do not expect to do great gourmet cuisine. 2 min walk from historic site. Beautiful and peaceful place.

  • Fab little place for our overnight stay. Comfy bed and so quiet, we slept so well. Such thoughtful touches from Laura with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, marshmallows and breakfast bits. Very clean - even the compost toilet which I had originally been a little nervous of before arriving. Would recommend staying!

    Bethany2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to our stay we were given all the information we needed to find the house and check in, with useful information about local experiences. The house itself had everything you would need, plus a few little thoughtful extras such as hot chocolate, marshmallows, bread, milk and washing up liquid to name a few. The outdoor loo was very upmarket, with nice wallpaper, hand sanitiser and air freshener. The house was also very well insulated so we felt very cosy and had a good nights sleep. I would definitely recommend this house if you want something a little bit different, but still comfortable.

    Emilia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z

  • We had such a wonderful stay. The cottage was so warm and cosy, and had lots of little flourishes that really made it for us! It was spotlessly clean! We had a chance to meet Kitty and she is so, so lovely. Thank you Kitty for making your cottage so wonderful.

  • A beautiful cottage in an absolutely stunningly part of the Scottish Highlands. Lots of inside space, spotlessly clean, modern with some lovely original features. Great kitchen with all the equipment you need. Large living room with TV and WiFi, but you'll never be in, as there's so much to do! Loved the log burner, even on a mild September evening. Nice touches with the shortbread and milk! The garden is a good space too, out two labradors loved it and we sat outside a few times to enjoy our lunch in the sun. The location is perfect, the smell of the sea, lovely little harbour & beach, we even saw dolphins swimming through the Firth on the day we arrived. For food and other provisions, there's the local Coop. We also travelled to Fortrose, which is only 5 minutes by car, there's a nice bakery, butchers, a larger Coop and great little cafe that does everything from a full breakfast to a decent vegan menu. We also ate at IV10, amazing food and drink, plus a great deli. Check out Fortrose cathedral whilst you're there - magical at night! Also take a visit to Rosemarkie - the long red sandy beach is great and you can walk along to Chanonry Point (you may be lucky and catch a glimpse of the local dolphin pod) and back from there. Nice friendly pub too - the Plough Inn. We have fallen in love with Avoch & the Black Isle. We highly recommend staying in this gorgeous cottage in Avoch.

  • We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Alison and James’ beautiful home just outside of Inverness. Their place sits atop a hill with a gorgeous view of Fortrose, about 20 minutes drive from Inverness (but absolutely worth it for a stay this idyllic!) The house had a very homely feel and was the best possible place to unwind after a long day of driving. Alison and James were lovely and welcoming and we had a wonderful chat over a delicious breakfast. Wouldn’t change a thing, cannot recommend highly enough!

  • Elsie is a fantastic host and the garden room is great value for money.

    Jason2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great Glamping accommodation at an excellent price... perfect for my en-route stop-over to doing the North Coast 500 trip on a motorbike. Note... Pay careful attention to Elsies directions, as just being lazy like me and relying on a post code in google maps won't get you there! But following Elsie's instructions and it's very clear!

    Dave2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great value compared with any other accommodation for the same price. For me, the biggest things would be privateness of stay with having all useful things one would need during the time spent- fridge, microwave, boiling kettle and much more.. It's bit further from city center though the bus stop is just a minute walk away with decent bus connections. Elsie is great host and if you're looking for something that is more than worth the money you pay.. look no more.

    Jakub2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice place to stay and Elsie is a lovely thoughtful host. I would definitely stay here again. Very fast wifi, easy access into Inverness. Thank you! :)

  • The room was very clean and lovely. The check in was easy by using a key box. Everything was just great.

    Sabrina2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Elsie's place is adorable and very comfortable. It is very accurate to the description and even better period. It is the most glamorous "glamping" I've ever done. The bed is extremely comfortable and everything is sparkling clean. I liked it so much that I booked another night when I hadn't planned to stay in Inverness a second night. Elsie is a delight! So personable and kind. A perfect hostess and would-be friend. Also, the home looks over the water! Incredible views!

Freshly decorated apartment in a very central location in the old part of Inverness City. Five minute walk to the train station and close to lots of lovely pubs and restaurants. River Ness is at the bottom of the street with a bridge crossing leading directly to the town centre.
Our apartment is bright and cosy with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. We have fibre broadband, a DVD player and digital TV. We've just decorated the entire apartment, including new carpets and electric heating. We have a memory foam topped double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Please note, we do not provide bedding for the sofa bed for under 3 guests unless requested. We can also provide an infant travel cot and high chair if required. We have integrated smoke detectors, a fire blanket and a fire safety apartment door lock. There's also a secure area for up to 2 bikes.
It's a reasonably quiet area, although more lively at the weekend. There are several outstanding restaurants within a few minutes walk and a large supermarket 1 minute away. There's a pharmacy, newsagent, beauty salon, barbers and take-away right outside the apartment. There's a pedestrian bridge at the bottom of the street taking you to the heart of Inverness City or you can access the roads to Fort William, Wick, Aviemore, Aberdeen or the North Coast 500 at the other end of the street. You really couldn't be better located.
  • A really comfortable and cosy appartment and an incredibly thoughtful host. Great location, everything you could wish for an enjoyable stay and so many extra touches. A great find.

    Peter2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was easily the nicest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at! It was spotlessly clean, wonderfully located, and the little touches like books and DVDs really made it feel homey. I found the bed incredibly comfortable too, and the shortbread and tablet Becky left at check in were a lovely surprise. The next time I’m in Inverness I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else!

    Claire2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Becky was very kind and attentive from the moment I made my reservation. The communication was very good and recommended very good places to visit in Inverness. Its flat is very beautiful, beautiful decoration and cozy atmosphere. Very clean and excellent location, one block from the Ness River. It was perfect for us who were driving because we could park for free in two streets near the building.

Two nights or more recommended - you will regret it if you don't! Our Orchard Room looks out over our small orchard (peaches, plums, apples, pears and cherries, plus grapes in our greenhouse). The Orchard Room offers a kingsize bed without a footboard (better for tall guests!). We also let the twin Meadow Room, decorated with original watercolours. The Black Isle has so much to offer. Don't just pass through. Savour it...
The Bolthole is a separate wing of a 1970s house with lots of authentic features including a primrose bathroom suite (remember those!). Very sunny spot with a pretty garden. Guests enter via our pretty garden (three steps up to door) and then there is a shared hall from which the two (separately let) bedrooms and the bathroom all open. There are tea-making facilities in the hall for everyone.
We are in a very quiet cul-de-sac with six houses. The noisiest thing about it is the herring-gulls on the rooftops! Fortrose is a pretty wee town with an historic cathedral - we can give you a guided tour if you would like that.
  • I had a lovely time at the Chanonry Bolthole, despite some awful weather! Great location, comfortable bed, warm room, good shower and extremely welcoming and helpful hosts.

  • Definitely, the best place to stay and discover a non touristic & special place in Scotland, the Black Isle! Vee&Philip are great... and we’ve learnt local stories and seen places we would not have. Breakfast is amazing and the house is so sweet!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. Vee is extremely welcoming and provides a delicious breakfast. The bed is very comfortable and the garden is lovely. It’s a short walk to Chanonry Point and its dolphins. Highly recommended.

  • Vee is an extra guest. She is very friendly and speaks very good French. Petit dej at the top. The room is very comfortable and close to the sea. Try to go see the dolphins 5 min and make a detour through the cathedral. The golf restaurant is great and a 10 min walk. We recommend this address.

  • Janie is the most perfect host and her little space just outside of Inverness is perfection. So clean, super comfortable and she went to extra efforts to leave us with fresh milk in the fridge, a high chair and crib for our son and greeted us warmly on our arrival which was later in the evening. Our only regret is not staying there long enough!

    Mandy2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is FABULOUS and we can definitely see why Janie and Garrick are Superhosts as they most definitely deserve this reputation. Cosy, warm, modern, quiet and very comfortable accommodation complete with with tea, coffee and milk provided. Everything was superb. And SO close to great places to eat and things to see in this glorious area. I was unfortunate enough to trip over a (not visible) clothing stand and break a bone in my hand in a store in Eastgate Mall, had to spend 4 hours in A & E ( who were wonderful) but both Janie and Garrick were so remorseful and sad for what happened. And it wasn't their fault at all but we so appreciated their concern and caring. We would highly recommend this delightful little place to anyone wanting to stay near Inverness, will tell all our fellow travellers about it and would love to come back one day. Thank you Janie and Garrick so much.

  • Janie’s cottage is great, very spacious and newly remodeled, close to fort George and the moray coast.

  • Amazing place with awesome scenery around. Ardersier is a quiet little town about 8 miles from Inverness. There is a grocery store and a restaurant near the house. Janie is a wonderful host who welcomed us into the house and set things up for us. Would definitely recommend the place.

  • Great wee getaway, lovely restaurant/bar next door would recommend!

  • Excellent, quiet location to explore the northwest while staying convenient to the airport. We didn’t have anything planned during our 2 day visit, but Janie’s guidebook gave us tons of ideas to fill our time. The space is outfitted with very modern fixtures and everything else you’ll need. The flowers surrounding the property are gorgeous. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

  • *Janie..💖 aka ‘Wonder Women’ At very short notice I had to book flights, car rental and accommodation for a Funeral in Watten Wick, ( 3 hours from Inverness) for 4 adults flying from Essex in the UK. By some miracle this property was available for the only 2 nights we required. Immediately after booking Janie contacted me and the communication was superb. The location is literally 5 mins by car from the airport. The bungalow is spotless, fresh towels, clean bed linen, milk in the fridge, loaf of bread with butter and jam. Soap and shower gels, everything you would basically need. Beds were very comfortable and we were a party of 4 with 3 big men. The heating was on and it was very ‘cosy’ and homely. Parking is available on the driveway and it is very easy to find. Janie told us that the Star Inn was 2 doors away and we had a superb meal here after a very long day. And this is where Janie just made our difficult trip so much easier (after already exceeding our expectations). We had to return the hire car on the Saturday eve and required a taxi at 5.30am on the Sunday morning. After asking for a reliable taxi firm Janie set her own alarm and took us all to the airport 💖 I’m sure that this is not part of the normal ‘AirBnb’ service!!!! I will return, hopefully on a happier trip and I would not stay anywhere else in Inverness. Janie, ‘Thank You’ for being such a caring and wonderful person. Steve

  • Janie was a terrific host and her place was nothing short of amazing. The location is perfect and is just a short drive away from the beautiful city of Inverness. The place itself was cosy and comfortable for the 3 of us and had all the amenities that we needed to enjoy our stay and vacation.

Firth View is a luxury adults-only Bed and Breakfast and an ideal base from which to explore the wonderful countryside and coastal delights of the Black Isle and the wider Highlands. Moray Room is a beautifully appointed, en-suite guest room on the first floor with picture windows providing a stunning view over the Moray Firth. We also offer a cosy guest lounge, a delicious breakfast buffet and fresh-cooked hot menu, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. We have ample off-road parking and gardens.
You will find us high on the ridge between the coastal villages of Rosemarkie and Cromarty in a peaceful, rural setting. However, we are only a 30 minute drive from Inverness City Centre, and offer a perfect stopover for those adventurers tackling the NC500, either at the start or the end of your tour. Firth View also provides a great base for walkers, cyclists, (it's all downhill from here!), golfers, culture-vultures, dram-tasters, wildlife-watchers and photographers, with the beauty of the Black isle on our doorstep, and Loch Ness, Culloden, the Cairngorm National Park and at least half a dozen whisky distilleries within an hour's drive.
Many visitors to the Black Isle head straight to Chanonry Point for the opportunity to see the Moray Firth Dolphins from the shore, or take a trip out on the water from Cromarty or Avoch to see them in their natural environment. Cromarty, Fortrose and Rosemarkie each have their share of historic sites and museums. Take a short drive in either direction from Firth View and visitors can discover great food and drink from our local cafes, bistros and restaurants. From coffee and cake, freshly cooked pizza or seafood, fish and chips, a pub lunch or a full works evening feast, everything is on offer.

  • The Anderson is a lovely hotel in the middle of a charming village. It’s pretty straight forward: good food, good people and a good night’s rest!

    Hannes2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Anderson is extremely well-situated for traveling by foot. Despite having a car, we spent our three days at Jim's place at Chanonry Point, Rosemarkie Beach, Groam House Museum, Cairds Cave and Fairy Glen Falls and never needed to move the car. Inside The Anderson, we appreciated little touches in the room such as extra USB ports, extra pillows, and a very comfortable bed. The staff members were all friendly and helpful and possessed wicked senses of humor. We greatly enjoyed our time at The Anderson and the hospitality of the people of Fortrose.

    Keri2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's place, The Anderson, is probably the best pub we have ever been to with authentic Scottish folk music and a MASSIVE assortment of beer. All of that goodness doesn't even touch how nice of a stay the hotel is, which is was quite fantastic. Fortrose is a beautiful, quiet place that is well worth stopping through (we preferred even over Inverness). As a host, Jim was great and we'd recommend him and The Anderson to anyone and everyone!

    Colin2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jims place is great, we had such a good first night back in Scotland. They have a great restaurant with good food and an awesome whiskey bar :-) Greatly recommended!

    Ilse2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stayed. Fantastic food and drink on offer. Great selection of beers and whisky

    Craig2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We just stayed one night in Jim's hotel and it was very nice. The bed was comfy (and very high) and the bathroom spacious. We like the decoration and the vintage games hanged on the wall. We just had one regret : that we did not have enough energy after our day of hiking to enjoy the bar. It seemed like the atmosphere was very cheerful and we would have loved to join. Maybe another time !

  • Enjoyed our stay at The Anderson Hotel. Sparkling clean room with tall antique bed that was so comfy. Wonderful meal in the pub downstairs. Stayed up way too late in the pub visiting with locals and fellow travelers and enjoying incredible beers and Scotch. Thanks Jim!

  • Lisa's place was very clean and a great place to stay. It is very close to a shop (above one), but it was very quiet, warm and relaxing in the flat. We will definitely come back.

    Barbara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific highlands home base. My partner and I came from America to see the highlands in the winter time. We had heard that downtown Inverness could be a little rough and complicated to get in and out of with a car/parking, etc. Moray View was a perfect mix of being close enough to a biggish town but removed enough in a quiet neighborhood that it was easy to get in and out. There was easy parking for our rental car right in front of the flat. You might want to get a GPS or good instructions on how to get there. But it is just off a main road, so it is not really out of the way. You do not need a car to stay here, but if you have one it is ideal. My partner and I are big history buffs, and the Culloden Battlefield was within walking distance, 30-40 mins via some old woods. Also, my partner is a fan of the Outlander book series, so she wanted to see the prehistoric Clava Cairns, which are not far beyond the battlefield. You can get a bus straight from the flat to the battlefield if you don't want to walk. We also visited Cawdor, the next village over, and saw the castle of Macbeth fame. Easy to get to the main highways in any direction, to see the coasts and the mountains or whatever. We managed to do a week of some great drives, hikes and sightseeing, and Lisa and Paula who run the place had good advice and are super knowledgeable. I didn't want to drive into Inverness at night (so I could enjoy a whisky!), but frequent buses stop right in front of the house. 10-15 minutes to downtown and really easy to do. Locally, just down the road there is the Smithton Pub, which was a perfectly nice and friendly place for a pint and pub food. For self-catering you don't need to go that far, as a grocery store is located immediately below the flat. The flat is clean and modern with a good open plan kitchen which opens up onto the living room. We tried out the living room pull-out bed and it could easily take a second couple sleeping on it, or kids if you've got em. It had a separate bedroom, and the place is spacious and feels even bigger with the views across the Moray Firth. The bed was super comfy, better than my one at home! We were here in the winter, and while it was freezing cold outside the heating worked well and it was nice and cozy. There is a pretty spacious fenced-in yard, which we didn't use, but I imagine it would be nice in the summer. Finally, the owner Lisa and her sister Paula (who lives just a few blocks away) were so nice and lived up to Scotland's reputation of hospitality. They were really great and gave us lots of advice on things to do and how to do them. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back again!

  • Amazing comfortable bed, very clean, Charlotte was super gentle and we got the possibility to use the kitchen and the BBQ. All in all a perfect host!

    Rebecca2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Charlotte's place. The room is very charming and comes stocked with tea and coffee, which was a nice touch. Breakfast is provided and there was a great variety of foods to choose from. Their two cats are very friendly and adorable. The house is located a short walk away from the beach (unfortunately, we saw no dolphins when we walked by), and within walking distance from several restaurants in town.

    Jennifer2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at Charlotte’s place. She kindly rescued me when I was lost in a storm with a car and let me come into my room earlier than my check in time. The location is perfectly in the central of Chanonry point and Fairy Glen Falls (plus the cute little Groam House museum). The bed and shower is perfect for hikers to have a proper rest. I would definitely recommend here.
