  • Loved this place. It’s in a great spot in Saltburn with a fantastic view out across the sea and Valley Gardens. The place was even nicer than it looked on the pictures and had loads of space for our 18 month old to run around in and explore. Parking was no problem at all and it was very handy for local shops and breakfast places.

  • We've stayed in some nice airbnbs over the years, but this is honestly the best one. It's a great place in a great location with a wonderful sea view. It is spacious, nicely decorated and has everything you could possibly want for a stay. It's an absolutely top-class place! It looks even better in real life than in the pictures. I think anybody would be very happy to stay in such a lovely place.

This self contained holiday cottage offers a chance to get closer to the workings of a family dairy farm. It is situated in the North York Moors National Park, midway between the moors and the coast and just a fifteen minute drive (or slightly longer bus ride) from Whitby. The accomodation is unusually spacious for a one bedroomed cottage, it is light, warm and very well insulated but don’t forget there is the potential for noise and smells from the farm!
This holiday home is a one bedroomed cottage on our working dairy farm. We are on the North Yorkshire Moors, only five miles to Staithes and the coast and ten miles to Whitby. The self contained accomodation is all on the ground floor. The very large living area has a kitchen in the corner with a fridge and freezer, breakfast bar and table. There is a seating area with a television and DVD player. There is one bedroom with a double bed. The cottage has its own front door and you can park just outside. The cottage has a small back garden with open views of the countryside. We live next door and are generally available to assist in the unlikely event that any problems arise. Our farmhouse is a Grade II listed building and it was built before 1750. The attached cottage is in the former cow byre and it retains the original beams. It was fully renovated in 2012 and has the benefit of double glazing and underfloor heating. The farm and buildings are quite ‘green’. We have two ground source heat pumps and much of the electricity we use is generated on the farm by solar panels and a wind turbine.
The farm is in a small hamlet with about a dozen houses. A footpath runs through the farmyard and it is possible to walk down to the coast and up onto the moors from the house. There is a garage and a tea room in the hamlet. Unfortunately at the moment our village pub is closed for refurbishment so is only operating as a tea room. However other pubs are available in neighbouring villages. We are ten miles from Whitby and five miles from Staithes. The National Park Centre at Danby is also five miles away. This is a great place to learn about the history, geography and wildlife of the local area.
  • We had a truly wonderful & relaxing few days stay. This was our 2nd visit to this charming cozy cottage & we cannot thank Barbara enough for her help, tips & hospitality.

    Peter2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A great location within easy distance of Whitby. The accommodation is warm, spacious and very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the wood-burning stove. Our first trip away since becoming parents and we couldn’t be happier. The hosts were very accommodating and were even able to provide a play-mat for our 4 month old.

  • Beautiful, clean, warm and cosy. Great views and and fantastic location

    Lou2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying here for 3 nights. The cottage is spacious, warm and comfortable, and in a good spot for exploring the moors and the coast. Barbara also gave us a little tour of the farm which was very interesting!

    Lucy2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous cottage! We absolutely loved staying here. The cottage itself is warm, cosy and clean, and the location is perfect for exploring the North York Moors. Barbara provides a lot of useful information about the surrounding area. Scaling Dam is a short walk away, which has a circular route to run or walk around. We loved exploring the area by day and returning to Barbara's cosy cottage in the evening to cook and relax. Highly recommended!

A pleasantly situated spacious cottage built in the old historic part of Guisborough Town. This is the Ancient Capital of Cleveland and a small market town situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors and close to numerous attractive seaside towns including Whitby, Runswick Bay and Redcar. An area with a reputation for outstanding walking and mountain biking and with excellent restaurants, bars and shops. Close to Middlesbrough and Tees Valley. Also ideal for workers and contractors.
  • Lovely room in a house that we had due to being the only guests wholly for ourselves. Jo was super helpful and friendly. Would definitely book again!

Lovely warm and friendly family home situated in the beautiful village of Marske by the Sea. This is an ideal spot that's centrally located making it perfect for commuters, students, contractors or weekend visitors to the area. Just a short walk from the bohemian town of Saltburn, 20 minutes from Middlesbrough, close to North Yorkshire Moors, Whitby, Northallerton, Thirsk and York. Surrounded by stunning countryside, beautiful clean beaches and breathtaking views.
My home is a modest 3 bedroomed terraced that overlooks a green with views of the countryside and woods beyond. The room you have booked is furnished with a single bed, a chest of 3 drawers and a built in wardrobe. Your room will have fresh clean bedding and towels, (if staying for a long duration, towels and bedding are changed every week or before on request) a hairdryer, full length mirror, tea, coffee facilities and a TV. You are welcome to help yourself to fresh OJ, tea, coffee and use of the kitchen. Parking is to the rear of the house and I recommend that this is how you access the property given the front of the house is not accessible by road and locating us by postcode can get confusing for people who don't know the area. Further details on how to find us will be provided prior to your stay.
My neighbourhood is largely made up of private housing which is ex authority property. It's quiet given no road access from the front and only parking at the rear - so no passing traffic. Marske village has a vibrant array of micro bars selling real ale, pubs, cafe's and restaurants - the village continues to grow in its diversity to cater for a wide variety of taste. We have the beautiful beach as seen on some of the photos and only a short and enjoyable walk from Saltburn which boasts the well known Victorian Italian Gardens, art galleries, restaurants, pier and I recommend a visit to The Cave on Milton Street, full of interesting art, photography and lots more bespoke items and gifts. Of course, the towns of Redcar and Middlesbrough are just a short car journey away making this a good place to stay if attending the University but want a quiet location to come back to . We have good access to North Yorkshire Moors, Whitby is a 35 min drive and in the other direction are the market towns of Northallerton, Thirsk and historic city of York.
  • Kay is a lovely host, welcoming and helpful, and her place is a brilliant base for coast path runs and sea swims. This is a great area, with interesting history and landscape and I really enjoyed my stay.

    Rob2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The room is excellent and the place is immaculately clean. Kay is an amazing host. Unfortunately my work trip was cut short but will be back whenever I find myself in the area again!

    Innis2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, friendly, welcoming host, nice quiet spotless house in a nice quiet area; seriously I slept for nearly 10 hours one night, something I never do at home. My five night stay provided a great four full days in a great location for exploring North Yorkshire. By way of example, on day one I walked along the beach from Marske to Saltburn and then on to Staithes along the stunning Cleveland Way (catching the excellent X4 bus back to Marske). The next day I caught the X4 to Whitby and walked from Whitby to Staithes. On day three I caught the train via Thornaby to spend a great day out enjoying everything there is to enjoy in York, and on day four I caught the train via Middlesbrough along the “scenic route” to Whitby, getting off at Grosmont (a couple of stops before Whitby) to enjoy a splendid day of operational steam trains and 40’s nostalgia at the annual “Railway in Wartime” festival being held by the North Yorks Moors Railway and Eden Camp. A fabulous break, made possible by a fabulous host; highly recommended.

    David2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kay is a first class host, who's home is spotless and so welcoming. Its located in a first class area, perfect for exploring the beaches and the nearby Yorkshire moors. Staying with Kay is like home from home. 10 out of 10.

Book your stay by the sea in a king bedroom with private bathroom. Lovely Victorian terrace home.
Book your stay in this lovely Victorian terrace house 100m from Saltburn's Marine Parade, overlooking 5 miles of pristine golden sand on the Jurassic Coast, majestic Huntcliff and the famous Victorian Pier. We are on the famous Cleveland Way walking route, where you can choose to head down the cost walking along lofty clifftops to Staithes, Whitby You will be free to make yourself totally at home - use the Kitchen, your own shower room and toilet, or chill in the front room or music room. It would be fantastic if the opportunity arises to chat and get to know you, but if you prefer privacy that is cool too. See my guidebook for things to do - there's lots to keep you occupied! In the morning you can lie in as long as you want and fix your own breakfast. I provide bread, jams, and eggs, coffee and tea. Re food - if you can see it, you're welcome to eat it. I promise you'll love our town as much as we do - we can't wait to meet you. Bianca.
Our neighbourhood is very friendly and welcoming to visitors. Our house is a terraced house (English trademark) painted light yellow and is pretty big inside, but looks small on the outside because it's dwarfed by the house next door. Saltburn is a very special Victorian cliff-top town. It's totally unpretentious, a bit of a bohemian enclave full of artists, alternative thinkers and some great local businesses. There is so much pride in our beach and our town, and in summer the town makes a special effort in the Northumbria in Bloom competition often winning prizes despite having very few houses with gardens. We also have the "Valley Gardens" and woods which is worth exploring - you might even find a victorian Viaduct hidden down there!
  • Bianca is a lovely host and we were given the use of all the kitchen facilities, if required. Bianca left tea and breakfast . Bed very comfy. We also used the lounge later evening to watch TV. So near to the sea, promenade and town and we loved Saltburn by the Sea.

    Julie2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bianca was a great host and her house is in a perfect location in Saltburn. Great area for a little beach holiday along the beautiful Yorkshire Coastline. Would stay here again!

  • Lovely house in a great location

    Stuart2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful location a very short drive from the coast. Bianca was a lovely host, very friendly and welcoming during our short stay. Would definitely recommend to any other travellers looking for a place to stay in Saltburn!

    Dave2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, Saltburn is great, nice to be able to just come and go as we wished.

    Peter2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bianca was a fantastic host made us feel very welcome and was very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend staying to anyone. Location is great too.

    Ruth2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxed feel about the home but host was attentive when I was around. Had my own space but could be part of the home if this was what I wanted.

    Alex2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bianca and her daughters are lovely, great hosts and very welcoming. The room we had was at the back of the house away from the road so that helps to minimise noise, although it's a quiet street to start with anyway. The bed is ridiculously comfy and as other reviews have mentioned, the shower is pretty cool too. There's a separate front room to use if you need, and full use of the kitchen helps if you need it. I Highly recommend staying here, if we haven't booked in again that is!!

The bustling town of Whitby is a short drive away with its myriad of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is an open plan modern well equipped kitchen/diner with patio doors opening out onto a decked area perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening. A lovely bedroom with twin beds and a shower room alongside forms the rest of the ground floor area. Underfloor heating throughout the downstairs gives it a lovely cosy warm feel. A luxury second bedroom with en-suite bathroom including toilet and washbasin completes the first floor.
This is a quiet and traquil location yet still well situated for visiting beaches

  • A really lovely house - modern and well equipped. We had a phonecall on the day to discuss check in.

  • A cosy cottage kitted out to a very high standard. Handy location for Staithes, Whitby, Saltburn and the North York Moors railway and good network of paths from the cottage. Be aware that the road is a bit rough and parking fairly tight. The bathrooms are cosy but you do have 2. The view of Boulby Mine was a surprise, but other directions have lovely views. Overall, we loved it.

  • Great place with nice touches like candles games and sky tv. Lovely and clean. Great shower and I am always disappointed by showers! Real fire. Loads of board games and big dining table to play them at. We walked into saltburn on sea with ease but hilly on the way back if you have mobility problems but the bus service seemed fairly frequent even on a weekend. Shop across the road. Fast communication with host too.

    Giles2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved the place. Everything we needed was in the cottage and more! Trish and her partner met us on the night and took time to explain the workings of the heating and tv. If you've not used solid fuel central heating please make sure you pay attention to their explanations and ask questions if you're unsure, they will take the time to make sure you're comfortable! It's very important (especially if it's cold) as the fireplace controls all of your hot water and heating. Trish checked in on us by text during the weekend and was even willing (if we had needed it) to come and re-light the fire!!

    Daryl2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy fabulous house...Trish is just fab... everything beautifully clean and is ideal for Whitby and surrounding areas...great time in this lovely house

    Kev2019-11-02T00:00:00Z

For us it was centrally located for everything but that of course depends on what you are doing and where you are going. Saltburn-by-the-Sea is about 7 miles away which is an absolutely amazing beach! The house was very clean and had all amenities. Would definitely recommend this property and Trish

Having only been in Saltburn a short time myself I'm still learning about the area. I fell in love with it the first time friends brought me here; a beautiful Victorian seaside town with a great beach and a pier; then you can come back up on the Funicular to the shops and restaurants . All this within a 5 minute walking distance of the house.

  • Where do I start.....stunning setting with sea views, great communication with caroline & her hospitality was second to none. The cottage was immaculate & I loved the decor. All the little extras such as dog treats, home made cakes, breakfast items, milk, fresh flowers & so much more. Caroline & john are fantastic hosts & were on hand if required. The way the cottage is situated from the main house allows you to feel completely separate & private. Enclosed court yard area ensured our dog couldn't escape. Fantastically placed to explore the Cleveland way we visited staithes every day, walked to saltburn & caught the bus back the walked to Runswick bay on another day. We only used the car once to visit whitby. Great recommendations from caroline. Even though the wind whipped up you felt snug in the cottage. The hot tub was fab & we also used the games room which is a great extra. Overall our stay was very relaxing & romantic. Everything you need & more. Thank you caroline & john.

    Lisa2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage decor is tasteful and very homey. Caroline goes to great lengths to ensure you (and your dogs) feel most welcome. Welcome box with goodies is divine. Dog blankets are even provided! The hot tub is just amazing after a day out walking along the coast near Staithes and Runswick Bay. So many walks with the Cleveland Way just outside the door. And, should the weather not suit, there is a warm fire to cozy up with Netflix or a good book. Good restaurants and pubs also nearby.

    Janice2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t express enough how amazing this cottage is, from the moment of booking Caroline is a super host, nothing was too much trouble. On arriving Caroline gave us a tour of the cottage and showed us everything we needed. The cottage is stunning and you couldn’t wish for more, the hot tub is such a bonus along with the views out to sea. The cottage is very private and you can choose how much interactions you have with Caroline and her family. The touches of homemade cake, jam and cookies very much appreciated. This was our first full week booking with air b n b and am so glad we chose such a high standard cottage. Book here and you will not be disappointed at all 😊

    Wendi2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely super place to stay and should not be missed. Caroline is a brilliant host and you will not be disappointed.

  • Wow, where to start?! We couldn’t have asked for a more exceptional place to get away from the stresses of life. From the warm welcome from Caroline with homemade cakes, cookies and fresh flowers to the comfort and small touches throughout! Very doggy friendly with a spacious and secure outdoor area (complete with dog shower!) but still felt like we were in 5* luxury. Super comfy bed and really cosy living space. The bathroom is excellent, loved the massive bath and shower and underfloor heating! The hot tub was a great extra to relax with a drink in the evening after a long day of beautiful beach walks. Beautiful coastal path runs right outside the front door. We couldn’t think of anything to improve our stay and will definitely look to return soon!!

  • From start to finish caroline was amazing! Communication was spot on and caroline even takes the time to give you a detailed local information pack of things to do and places to see even little areas that only locals would know about. The cottage itself is absolutely amazing and clean sporting a private garden area for you and dogs if you take them. The hot tub was a fantastic touch and many nights were spent relaxing after a days walking around the local area thanks again so much for a lovely stay

    Paul2019-04-04T00:00:00Z

  • A lovely clean and comfortableground floor flat in central Saltburn. Nice and warm in the chilly weather. Very kind hosts living just across the road.

  • Had a wonderful stay at Susan's place. Fantastic location just a few mins walk from Saltburn front and, if you a runner/ walker - onto the Cleveland Way. Never a problem to get on street parking. Flat was really spacious and rooms were thoughtfully furnished - the pics don't do it justice. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook meals. Super shower in bathroom and the central heating worked well, keeping the flat nice and warm on chilly winter evening. Comfy sofa / lounge perfect for relaxing in. Really good value - highly recommend. Thank you Susan. We hope to return again.

Great little 2 bed property on a nice street in Carlin how.Perfectly situated for walks down to skinningrove beach and exploring the cliffs to Saltburn and Hummersea. Being on the Cleveland way there is lots to explore. We are a dog friendly property (to respectful dog owners). Main bed room double bed. Second bedroom bunk beds and bed settee which was brand new 23 dec Putting link as unfair negative review https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/askeby-2-seat-sofa-bed-graesbo-golden-yellow-50447970/
Carlin how is a very small close knit community. The houses are predominantly terrace houses that were for the miners and steel workers.
In Carlin How there is a chip shop , and a couple of shops , but the neighbour villages and towns of Loftus, Saltburn, Skelton all have bigger supermarkets and eateries
  • Perfect location ... thank you.

A cosy, stylish first floor flat in the centre of Loftus in North Yorkshire. Comfortable living, charming features and this great location makes Sunshine the ideal flat for a couple wanting to visit North Yorkshire. 10 Minutes from North Yorkshire moors by car and 5 minutes from the nearest beach. 20 minutes from Whitby. Nearby leisure centre with swimming pool. Stunning coastline ideal for walkers and bird watchers. Perfect for a relaxing holiday
  • Clean, comfortable and dog friendly which is so important to us. Can imagine the outdoor space would be lovely to sit in the summer, just a tad cold for us this time round to enjoy. Private parking at rear of property. Co-op next door for any supplies which is handy. Asda is roughly 10 min drive away. Great host who replied promptly to any questions and very pleasant when we met, kindly guided me out the gate to prevent me scratching my car 😊. Would stay again in warmer weather. Thanks again, Shirley.

Cosy Grade II listed fisherman's cottage for 2 in the old part of Staithes, with a double bedroom, a modern kitchen and bathroom, electric heating throughout and wood burner in the lounge, Wi-fi. Dogs welcome.
At the bottom of the steep cobbled bank in the heart of the quaint fishing village of Staithes you will find our Grade II listed fisherman's cottage. When I first saw it the words that sprung to mind were "bijou" and "cosy" - I fell in love with it at once! Since we bought Lahney Cottage in February 2016, it has undergone a complete refurbishment, with new furniture, equipment, new flooring and carpets throughout, as well as being regularly redecorated throughout. The kitchen is very well equipped, the lounge has a TV with integral DVD player, internet radio with Bluetooth speaker and wi-fi (super fast unlimited broadband). On the first floor you will find the double bedroom and the bathroom with an electric shower over the bath. The cottage has heaters in the rooms and also a fabulous log burner in the lounge. You are seconds from the dog friendly beach and there are three dog friendly pubs in the village. Short term parking is available for unloading and there is car parking available at the top of the village, about a 5 minute walk from the cottage (parking charges apply). Well-behaved dogs are welcome and unlike a lot of properties we don't charge extra, but we do want to know if they will be there, so please make sure you tell us when you book. The Faith in Nature shower gels, shampoos and hand soaps that we provide are all made with essential oils, are vegan and cruelty free, and are also SLS and paraben free. The cleaning and laundry products we use are also from "eco-friendly" companies - Lilly's Eco Clean and KINN Living. All are kinder to you and the environment.
The cottage is in a quiet location in the heart of the village, with easy access to local shops, pubs and restaurants and only a few steps from the harbour. Staithes is set right on the Cleveland Way and there are some lovely walks for people of all ages and abilities either northwards towards Boulby cliffs and Saltburn or south towards Port Mulgrave, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Whitby - famous for its beautiful black jet, its Abbey and connections with Dracula and, more recently for being a Goth mecca!
  • Eva was quick to reply to any questions and very helpful. The cottage was as described, cosy, clean and well-equipped. The welcome pack was very welcome! Ideally located near to the harbour.

    Barbara2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little cottage in the heart of Staithes, lovely get away in amazing scenery, 10/10

    Ben2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a wonderful 3 days at Lahney Cottage and I want to go back. Prior to arrival, Eva sent us some comprehensive information about the location, parking, entrance and tips of shops and wood supplies. She responded quickly to anything I asked her also. We parked in the public car park at the top which was free between November and March (also Runswick Bay and Whitby had similar) but we're able to quickly unload outside the Cod and Lobster and then park up. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the kitchen very well equipped (there is even a spice rack) with loads of utensils and lots of lovely eco friendly products. There was a welcome loaf, butter, milk and teas and coffee to get us started. The information folders are above the TV and had plenty of useful stuff to read. Upstairs there is a lovely deep carpet and very comfortable bed. Shower is easy to use and nice and hot! The fire kept us very cosy in the evenings (when we weren't at the fabulous cod and lobster) and we were so lucky to get 3 sunny days to see a beautiful sunrise! It was a very peaceful, relaxing and fabulous stay. Thanks Eva!

  • Lahney Cottage is a delightful place to stay in Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Eva’s communication was attentive and helpful throughout. The cottage was perfect for us as a couple and we really appreciated the provisions Eva had thoughtfully left to get us started. Great to have the internet radio and excellent internet albeit no mobile reception. Fantastic DVD collection which we enjoyed. Thoroughly relaxing place to stay and explore the gorgeous coastal beaches.

    Glenda2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very central, immaculately presented, snug, characterful, tastefully done up. A really happy stay - thanks!

    Roger2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Staithes is a very special village, and this is a great cottage to have as a base. Communication with Eva was prompt and friendly, and her directions were accurate. The fact that the weather was perfect, and we saw dolphins as we walked the cliff path, and I swam in the sea were added extras. In the cottage I particularly like the eco friendly products, and that the kitchen, while small, had everything we could possibly need. I’d thoroughly recommend staying at Lahney Cottage, and would love to do so again.

  • We had a great stay in Dave’s well appointed and cosy cottage, good location for the beach, Cod and Lobster pub and great walks. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Seaholme Cottage.

    Jane2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • David’s communication RE check in etc was great, as was communication from the lady who looks after his place who seems lovely. Everything was easy- the house had absolutely everything we needed and is right next to the sea and you can hear the sea at night from the top bedroom. It’s also next to a great pub- the Cod and Lobster, which has amazing food and service. Biggest positive point is the master bedroom which has great views and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in!! Also the shower is fab as are the kitchen facilities and the sky package is a nice touch for rainy days finding something to watch when relaxing in the evening. Can’t say enough good things really- highly recommend! If you have mobility issues it might be worth considering that you have to walk up a hill to the car park and that the house is on 4 floors.

    Chloe2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and well appointed cottage moments from the beach and great pubs in the village. Very easy check-in and excellent communication from host. Look no further for a place to stay in Staithes.

  • Great cottage with everything you could possibly need. The Christmas decorations were great.

    James2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely few days spent at David's cosy place right at the harbour. Check in was easy and the house well equipped. We parked in the public car park at the top of the village after unloading at the house - it's advisable to have change available. We were wanting to pay by card but it wasn't an option.

    Julie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable, cosy, welcoming and well appointed place to stay with harbour views from the top bedroom. An excellent base for enjoying Staithes and the stunning coastline nearby.

  • Seaholme is in delightful position in this delightful village of Staithes, it’s close to everything from the beach and harbour, to the Cleveland Path, tea room/coffee shops plus of course the Cod & Lobster for good meals and the odd pint literally a few steps away. The house is clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend.

No 27 is in Guisborough, a quaint market town on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park, 6 miles to the sea. 1st floor apartment with fully equipped kitchen, comfy king size bed, TV, WiFi, dishwasher and washing machine. A 5 minute walk to the town centre, 10 minutes to Gisborough Hall. Situated over my business premises, Physioplus+, with a separate entrance at the rear. Sun trap balcony, which overlooks a car park ... but a pleasant place! Pet friendly 🐈🐈🐱😸
No 27 offers a central location in this small market town on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Milk, sugar, tea, coffee & toiletries are provided, along with all linens & towels. A sun-trap balcony overlooks the car park with outside seating opening from the kitchen with an adjacent newly refurbished bathroom with bath and shower over. No 27 is fully double glazed with storage heating and has additional heating supplied from designer electric heaters in living room and bedroom with a further kitchen plinth heater. In case you don’t have time for the washing machine at No 27 there is a launderette just around the corner with facilities for additional washing/drying. A drying rack is available to use in front of the storage heaters in winter, or out on the balcony when the weather allows!
There is a cosy 'locals' pub 3 doors away and the town centre is a 5 minute stroll from the door to all amenities with multiple pubs, shops, supermarkets and eateries/restaurants/takeaways. The open market is held every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday on the cobbled section of the main street. There is a forest above Guisborough, which leads eventually up to the moors, and we are on the Cleveland Way if you are a keen walker – literally within a few hundred yards. Guisborough is the ancient capital of Cleveland in North Yorkshire, the home of the De Brus family, and houses the ruins of the Gisborough Priory & Gardens less than 400 yards away. Gisborough Hall [the spelling changed sometime in ancient history] is now a hotel & restaurant with a well recommended spa if you fancy being pampered. It also hosts weddings, and a lot of our guests stay with us because they are attending one! It is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride away. If you are staying mid-week, we can always treat your aches and pains at Physioplus+ my physiotherapy practice beneath the flat ... but make an appointment before you get here as we are very busy usually. Ring 01287 201006 between 9am and 12 noon weekdays to make an appointment. We are 6 miles from the sea-side at Saltburn-by-the-sea and Redcar if you fancy a change from the hills around Guisborough forest and the moorlands. Great walking country, with easy access to the pretty coastal villages of Staithes and Whitby. If you are car-less, I will happily take you out for a drive if I am in the country! There is also a pretty good local bus service to get you to the coast. We recommend taking the bus to Whitby, or using the Park and Ride service just outside if you are driving, which is clearly signed, as parking gets very busy at high season and school holidays.
  • Great place to stay in Guisborough! Amazing location, convenient for both going into town and for walking in the woods. The flat is cozy and has everything you need for a enjoyable stay, including a very comfy bed:)

  • I was slightly nervous using someone's place rather than a hotel as normal. However that said, the correspondence via email was excellent. Anything else was mentioned in the Flat folder on my arrival. Other details could be found in another folder such as local area, walks, entertainment, museums etc. The flat was clean, tidy and aired out with bedding and towels ready. The bed was very comfortable. For me to experience Air BnB first time ever was brilliant and would do it again. The price is worth it. Thank you.

    Jon2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you need a base to visit this area you cant go far wrong with this flat, just perfect. Comfy bed and little touches like tea, coffee and small bottles of wine just enhances the place. Would most certaintly book again.

Having only been in Saltburn a short time I'm still learning about the area. I fell in love with it the first time friends brought me here, a beautiful Victorian seaside with a great beach and lovely area to go off walking inland too. Take a walk along the pier: then you can come back up on the funicular to the shops and restaurants. All this within 5 minutes walking distance of the house.
  • Ruth was incredibly welcoming and helpful, the house is a classic Saltburn Victoria 5 bed and is absolutely gorgeous. The room was huge, comfy and honestly one of the best nights sleep I've ever had, I never wanted to leave. We loved meeting Ralph the dog too, he was super friendly and just wanted fuss. We'll certainly be going back again in the future.

  • An ideal location near the sea front with a good view of the sea from the dining/sitting room window. Extremely pleasant accommodating host who supplies a good breakfast. Lovely homely feel to this place. There's even a balcony with a sea view although the weather stopped us from wanting to use it.

  • Ruth and Ralph the dog were wonderful, friendly hosts. The guest lounge with games was a real bonus, with lovely views of the sea. Will definitely be looking to stay again when I’m next in the area!

  • Beautiful location for a cute and cosy cottage getaway. The cottage has everything you need plus some thoughtful touches like homemade cakes, bread, milk and jam (and even dog treats for the furry guests). Caroline’s communication is really helpful, efficient and accurate. She gave us lots of tips for places to visit, eat and walk our dog. All of them were brilliant! We’d recommend staying here and would visit again in the future.

  • Caroline and her family are amazing hosts with loads of local tips to share with the guests. The cottage couldn’t be cosier and more beautiful! The view of the sea through the window is to die for and all the small touches around the place really make it special. Our puppy loved running around with Caroline’s dogs :) wish we had more time and stayed longer !

  • We had such a lovely weekend stay in Caroline’s Farmhouse Cottage. The location is amazing, we had read it was on the Cleveland Way but hadn’t appreciated how ‘on it’ it would be!! We were blessed with amazing weather for our stay and loved the walk into Staithes, taking Caroline’s recommendation to have lunch in the Cod and Lobster which certainly didn’t disappoint! The cottage was amazingly clean, comfortable and well equipped, with everything we needed for our stay, plus lovely extras - we especially enjoyed the mince pies from Caroline’s mum. Caroline and her mum were brilliant hosts, letting us get on with our weekend but available if we needed them. We hope to be able to visit again soon, thank you.

  • What a wonderful find with stunning views of the sea, so many personal touches and home made cakes on arrival. The host Caroline couldn’t be more attentive or helpful. We loved the cottage and the local area and especially ditching the car for the weekend and being able to walk straight out of the door onto the Cleveland Way. I highly recommend staying here. Just perfect.

  • Extremely welcoming. The hosts are genuine and add a wonderful personal touch to staying in a lovely hideaway. Very clean, log fire, extremely cosy, great view over looking the sea, just perfect for us. Caroline and John, thank you so much, not forgetting the lovely Valerie! We will be back soon!

  • Peter's place was the perfect retreat for us, a family of four and our trusty beagle. The house is very warm and cozy with direct access to the countryside. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the appliances and bath/shower rooms were all modern and we had everything we needed. We spent our days walking, despite the weather and came back to London feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. We can highly recommend Seaview (you actually can see the Sea from the loft room!) and hope to come back for a visit in a warmer season!

  • We had a fantastic stay at Seaview Cottage. It has a great location for discovering that part of the coast and views from the cottage were amazing. Perfect place for an escape from the hustle and bustle of life!

  • A fantastic spot! This is a lovely location and brilliant value. The view out the back when the skies are clear are stunning - some of the best I’ve had in anywhere I’ve stayed. The house is very modern and well designed. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need. The living space is very cosy, with a fire, and comfy sofas. All open plan - the dining table has a beautiful view out the back of the house. All the rooms are a good size and very comfy beds. Plenty of space. The outdoor space really makes this special however, and is a fantastic spot to sit and view the countyside and the sea! The hosts were very helpful, responding quickly and offered local tips. They also left some essentials and few extra bits as a nice surprise on arrival. I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

  • Perfect rural Yorkshire cottage to relax in and enjoy the view. Close to the coast for exploring nearby coastal villages. Highlight is the patio/terrace with hill and sea views in the distance, idyllic for a summer evening and bbq. The cottage is modern, all the amenities you will need and sparkling clean. Cosy log burner was warming after a day out on the coast. I would have liked slightly more comfortable sofas to relax in front of the fire but apart from that a beautiful cottage.
