  • We loved our stay in tigh a chabar! The views were perfect (despite the weather). The house itself was stunning and filled with all the small items needed and more! The bottle of prosecco was very appreciated too! We’ll definitely recommend to our friends and family and i’m sure we’ll back for another stay

    Arran2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our short visit, who needs a tv when you have views like this. The welcome was warm and the property is as described, Local area is stunning, can’t believe not been here before. Full 5 stars from us!

  • Outstanding in every single way. The house is beautifully designed, and the view from the corner is incredible. Check the little book of walks out, and be sure to go explore... Or, sit in, play chess and watch every variation of weather unfold before your eyes over The Sound of Mull. Truly beautiful, incredibly well maintained, luxurious, and hosted impeccably. Definitely go stay here!

  • Sarah’s place is Well kitted out with everything you could need and amazing views to boot. We had a great few days away and will be back to explore more of this beautiful part of Scotland.

    Angela2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage for four friends, or a family. Comfortable, warm, well equipped. We found everything we needed, and Sarah goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. We already loved the area, and it was a huge pleasure to use the cottage as a base to show some friends who were new to the area what a great place to visit Morvern (and Mull) are (even in winter and in the rain!). Top notch.

    Jo2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

  • We really enjoyed staying at this hidden lovely place. What a view! We felt very welcome at Iain & Tom‘s house. They were so super nice and we‘re so thankful for their heart warming hospitality

    Tamara2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lochaline.... Gets you a backstage pass to the beautiful Isle of Mull. Staying with Iain for a couple of days before jumping over to Mull is a ticket to a great laid back touch to stunning Scotland. OR ...Be adventurous and walk to the castle or just enjoy a stroll along the water and the quartz quarry, either way the vista is beautiful! The beds upstairs are comfortable; and the beautiful views of the loch below provide an opportunity to watch the ferry's comings and goings. The bath provides a sumptuous soak after a long day on the highlands or a quick wonderful shower so you can keep on trucking. Breakfast fare exceeds the typical cereal/toast/instant coffee offerings that many hosts have. Iain puts out a delicious spread of meats/cheese and fresh baking + the typical offering you see at other BnB's. His breakfast keep you going until supper time. Lastly, we all want to stay in touch with home and they have terrific internet and wifi capabilities Thanks Iaian give Whisky a hug & Cheers! Ann & Lorne

Aandehul is a beautiful architect designed house with spectacular views across the Sound of Mull. It has an open plan living area with a wood-burning stove, two bedrooms and two galleries accessed by spiral staircases.
The house faces due south - with a large deck and open grassy area looking across to the island of Mull. There are extensive views to the east towards Oban and the hills beyond. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker with induction hob and dishwasher, and a utility room with washing machine and drier. One bedroom has a super king size bed and an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower; the second bedroom has two single beds (can be made up as one super king size bed) and an adjacent shower room. The accommodation is ideal for four but there are two additional narrow beds in one of the galleries – suitable for children. The second gallery has a television with DVD player. Bedding and towels are provided. There is an additional refrigerator and a freezer in an outside barn. The house is well insulated with triple glazed windows and skylights, and under floor heating. There is wireless internet and good mobile reception (especially for O2 and Vodaphone). The house is well located for walking, bird-watching, cycling, fishing, sailing and kayaking. The village of Lochaline is less than two miles along the road and has a small general store with post office counter, café and excellent restaurant. The vehicle ferry over to Mull runs regularly from Lochaline. Aandehul is an excellent base for exploring both Mull with all its attractions and access to Iona, and the lovely hills and woods of Morvern. The minimum stay is three nights. One small well behaved dog is allowed (after discussion). ‘Aandehul’ means ‘a place to breathe’ and we hope you will find that it is indeed a place to rest and relax in quiet comfort.
  • Our time here was truly wonderful. Thanks to Ann (an excellent and responsive host) everything was great in this stylish cottage, including comfy beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and books on local history to read by the fire. The location is perfect for exploring Morvern and Mull, with stunning landscapes and great wildlife. This is an extraordinary place to stay!

  • We absolutely loved our stay - the view is incredible and with lovely walks close by we enjoyed getting away from it all in this idyllic setting.

    Lisa2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We travelled as a family of 3 and arrived to find the lodge very welcoming. Could never get tired of the views across the Sound of Mull and whatever the weather we thoroughly enjoyed it. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Ann provided detailed instructions of how to get there and gave us a good heads up of what there was in the area to do. Would highly recommend.

    Alistair2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place on planet Earth to spend some tranquil days. Words cannot describe the view that this cottage offers. Beautiful and clean and cared for by a perfect host ... my wife and I will certainly be back!

    Ian2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was an amazing space and the views over the Sound of Mull were truly spectacular! Ann was very speedy at responding to our messages in advance of the trip. The cottage was well-stocked - it had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner.

    Izzy2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to this place and it was as special as our first. I don't think we'd ever tire of the views, the tranquillity, the space and the home comforts that Ann so thoughtfully provides.

    Alex2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Ann, many thanks for sharing your home with us. Our stay truly was a family holiday to remember and treasure. The cottage is positioned in a stunning and quiet location with the most breath taking views. It felt like home to us and what better retreat at the end of a busy day walking / sight seeing! Especially with the log burner lit and a glass of wine. The bottle of wine on arrival was a welcome touch as well after a long drive. Many thanks Nick, Sue, Harry and Ollie.

Light and modern, our home is a converted church in the rural village of Lochaline. We are close to the ferry that goes to the Isle of Mull and many beautiful lochs and hills. We are about two and a half hours from the Isle of Skye. All guests are welcome. This is a great place to explore the Highlands and Islands from. If you are into sailing, hill-walking and anything do with the outdoors this is a great place to base yourself from.
The house is a modern, light space with cosy rooms for guests. The house is split in two. The upstairs of the house is for airbnb guests and the downstairs portion of the house is for ourselves. There is a room downstairs for guests to have a coffee and breakfast in the mornings. Please note: the kitchen and downstairs sitting room is strictly private. There is two shared bathrooms for guests to use. We have plenty of hot water and access to fast wifi. We provide a continental self-service breakfast of jams ,homemade granola and fresh coffee and tea.
We are surrounded by beautiful walks and scenery. A lovely, friendly community including the local wildlife. If you are lucky you will see an otter or sea eagle or Red deer during your stay with us.

The Bunkhouse is right at the heart of Ardtornish Estate, on the Estate Courtyard close to the Information Centre, and offers a rustic accommodation option for those travelling on a budget.
Unlike our other properties, which generally rent by the week during the high season, the bunkhouse is available to rent by night, by the room or for the whole place.
Ardtornish Estate spreads out around Loch Aline, a huge, wooded, U-shaped bay, a natural haven.
  • Absolutely perfect place, a little difficult to find the way but once found, it is a real little paradise on earth. House and quality equipment, very clean, seemed to recharge and recover in the middle of an unusual landscape, I highly recommend

    Billel2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Huge place, huge kitchen, perfect to take a break in the middle of the mountain and nothing. You can relax and listen the nature, the area is beautiful. And the bunkhouse is really good, warm, and useful ! Thanks for everything

  • Awesome rooms. We felt really relaxed at that place far outside. Very big plus: We saw shockingly many stars when we got out of the car. That was a great experience as was the rest of the stay.

Brand new apartments that are purpose built for holiday letting. This unit is furnished to a very high spec to offer maximum comfort whilst you enjoy the uninterrupted views over the Sound of Mull. Situated in the heart of Lochaline. The village is 40 miles from Fort William and a short ferry ride to Mull. The building comprises 3 letting properties which are all self contained, however they could be let together for group and family holidays. Thus enabling each family their own privacy.
Open plan living space with fully fitted kitchen comprising all mod cons, including an Induction hob and combi oven. The living space boasts full height windows looking towards Mull. A sofa bed can also be used in the main living space. One double bedroom with wardrobe and drawers. Spacious waterfall shower, WC and sink.
Lochaline although a small village offers many services. The well stocked local store, the award winning Whitehouse Restaurant, the O2 cafe, Lochaline Hotel, lochaline social club and the snack bar on the pier. There are many opportunities for walks and wildlife spotting straight from the door. The ferry to Mull runs all day and the apartment is perfectly situated to walk to all the local amenities.
  • This place was all we needed for a few days exploring Mull. Even with the cost of the return ferry every day it was more economical for us than any listing we saw on the island itself

    Michael2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't ask for better, 5+ stars on all accounts

    Alan2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous apartment for 2 people in a particularly stunning part of Scotland. The old fire station has very recently been converted into 3 very modern apartments - Red Watch, Blue Watch & White Watch. Each apartment has it's own front door and all are available on Airbnb. Rob and Lesley are ideal hosts - they are not intrusive but are on hand if you need them. We stayed for a week and the apartment had everything we required. What really made it special was it's location overlooking the harbour. This was a great base for exploring the surrounding area. A small car ferry shuttles back and forth all day between Lochaline and the Isle of Mull. We also enjoyed a day out on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. If you enjoy the great outdoors then this is the perfect place for you!

  • Tom & Iain are great hosts and we had a comfortable stay. High points for us were the splendid breakfasts, luxurious bathroom and use of the laundry facilities. We found the bed in the garden view room very comfortable. As we stayed for 3 days the space and storage was tight but absolutely fine one night.

  • Really enjoyed our stay with Tom, Iain and Whisky, their dog. Not only do they provide fantastic accommodation which is exactly as advertised but they’re hospitality is second to none.

  • Tom and Iain are very welcoming hosts and their breakfast was great. We enjoyed to rest in the garden after a busy day. The whole house is very nice and clean, our room was comfortable and quiet but rather small. Recommended.

  • Tom and Iain are most welcoming hosts.... not to mention Whiskey, their dog! Our room was lovely, but the bathroom was something else.... the whole space was so clean and well styled. The only improvement would have been if we could have stayed longer. The breakfast the guys offered to us was extensive and sumptuous.... all in all am outstanding experience.

    Helen2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice house and very great attention of the hosts.

    Sophie2019-07-12T00:00:00Z

  • WOW! What lovely hosts...never felt so at home in someone else's house...A warm welcome, including cuddles from their dog Whisky! Very clean bedroom, bathroom and towels...Enjoying sitting in the lounge with Tom and Iain...Very nice and big breakfast! They know all the highlights from the surroundings and provided us with tips and information. We decided to stay for another night and went on a daytrip to the Isle of Mull, the ferry is at the end of their street...HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone to stay at this lovely place!!!

Craigendarroch 2 is the mirror image of Craigendarroch 1 and is the other half to this semi-detached, stone-built cottage. It too shares a tranquil position beside the quietly flowing River Aline
Perfect spot for wildlife watching, some of the frequent visitors include, red deer, pine marten and the occasional fox
Part of the charm of staying on the estate is the amount of home-grown, seasonal produce available to purchase with the most minimal of food miles as they are within walking distance. Our Kitchen Garden is a must visit during your stay, using only the finest seasonal ingredients, you could prepare a variety of dishes from light salads and soups to weekend roasts and vegetable hot pots, all using produce grown in the Kitchen Garden by our very own and extremely talented gardener Richard. We have a fantastic selection of beef, lamb, mutton and wild venison. This can be pre-ordered and delivered to your holiday home on the day of your arrival. A meal at the award winning Whitehouse restaurant in Lochaline is highly recommended. We advise that you reserve a table in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • A beautiful, peaceful location with stunning scenery & wildlife. The cottage was traditional, but very cosy. Regular visits from the resident pinemarten were a highlight. A great base for exploring the local area. Friendly check in & help on hand if needed but otherwise we were left to enjoy the tranquility .

The Bunkhouse is right at the heart of Ardtornish Estate, on the Estate Courtyard close to the Information Centre, and offers a rustic accommodation option for those travelling on a budget. The bunkhouse was completely refurbished in 2008, and while from the outside, the corrugated iron building looks like a functional place to stay, the inside is surprisingly cosy with multi-fuel stoves and wood-lined walls. Unlike our other properties, which generally rent by the week during the high season, the bunkhouse is available to rent by night, choose a private room or the whole place. The bunkhouse consists of three bunk bedrooms, a large and bright sitting/dining room, a kitchen with a six-ring gas cooker and two ovens, a large fridge freezer and a washing machine with tumble dryer. Situated on its own next to the River Aline, with a great view over the Castle Pool up to Kinlochaline Castle. The Bunkhouse is right at the heart of Ardtornish Estate, on the Estate Courtyard close to the Information Centre, and offers a rustic accommodation option for those travelling on a budget. The self contained Studio section consists of one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a combined sitting room/fully equipped kitchen area with French doors leading to an outdoor seating area
The bunkhouse was completely refurbished in 2008, and while from the outside, the corrugated iron building looks like a functional place to stay, the inside is surprisingly cosy with multi-fuel stoves and wood-lined walls
Ardtornish Estate spreads out around Loch Aline, a huge, wooded, U-shaped bay, a natural haven
  • Visitors can expect a clean, self contained private part of the bunkhouse, perfect for a couple wishing to explore and enjoy beautiful local surroundings in stunning countryside.

  • loved the location of the estate in ardtornish. thought the bunk house studio was great for a couple. even though the adjoining bunk house was occupied by working men, it wasn't noisy. thought our rooms were really cosy. the fact it was located by the estate office and shop was great. good to talk to staff about their work. only downside was we didn't book for longer, and the WiFi was pretty poor. apart from that it was a great stay.

    Graham2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and we thought the studio was better than advertised- we’ve stayed in expensive cottages with less facilities. I’m sure we will be returning at some point in the future so we can see more of the beautiful estate. We also took away some venison steak and scallops which were gorgeous so well worth a visit to their little shop. Thanks for having us.

Stunning Lochside cottage that can sleep 5 guests.
Magnificent all-round views across Loch Aline and a delightful terrace opening out from the French windows make summer evenings in The Boat House a joy. A traditional stone and slate building, airy in summer and cosy in winter, the Boat House was converted some years ago and is centered on a light but snug split level dining/sitting room
  • Wonderful location which we had chosen as it was right on the water: our 6 yo could walk right from the front door into the loch for lots of fun paddling, beachcombing etc. at both low and high tide. Also beautifully isolated from other properties on the estate. Ardtornish is really well situated for exploring Morvern and Mull and the estate office staff provided great information about suitable walks and excursions. The house is cosy and well-equipped but maybe now in need of a bit of a refresh, given the relatively high price. For us, however, the value was very much in the setting.

  • This is a nice, modern apartment in a beautiful village. The local shop/post office is very close, and the village also has a pub which serves food and a very nice restaurant, The Whitehouse, which is a fantastic experience! We explored the local area and there are nice walks along the coast or around the loch (the ruin of Ardtornish Castle is worth a visit, but mind the nettles!) by quiet roads and well-maintained walking trails. There is also easy access to the Isle of Mull by ferry - with or without a car (on the island the bus between Craignure and Tobermory stops at the ferry terminal).

  • India was a great host and was available if needed. She had great insight about the local eateries and also had a light, healthy breakfast available both mornings we stayed. Yogurt, rolls, cereal, juice, etc. I especially enjoyed the giant skylight in the double twin bedroom where I stayed. The sound of the rain hitting it at night was just what I needed to fall asleep in an already cozy room and home.

  • Willow Brae and Linda was amazing in every way. Room was excellent, bathroom modern and well equipped. Host was very welcoming and went over and above is assisting us in our quest of connecting to our roots. Food (Breakfast) was complete every morning and well done. For an additional cost our host made supper on our first evening as we didn’t know where to go at that point. Host is a great cook!! There is coffee and tea and a snack in room for morning wake up which was much appreciated. You will not go wrong with Willow Brae in LochAline.

  • Linda's house is ideally located on the hillside with a stunning view over the sound of Mull, both from the bedroom and the breakfast room. The bedroom and the bathroom looked brand new. They were spotless and very well equipped. Linda is the most charming host you could hope for. She offered us a warm welcome, provided useful advice and put maps and guides at our disposal (and her French is really good!) Too bad our stay was so short. Many thanks again Linda!

    Olivier2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed at Linda's house for two nights and more than enjoyed it. She was a very welcoming and courteous host. The room was extremely clean and everything was perfect from the first moment on. Also the breakfast was marvelous with a whole range of fresh made food. If we ever come back to this area we will definitely stay at Linda's again. Thank you!

  • Linda has a B & B with a lot of potential in Lochaline. Linda is the perfect hostess. Helpful and driven to make you as a guest very pleasant in her stay. The rooms and showers are fully equipped, clean and the living room of Linda (where there is also breakfast) has a great view over the Sound of Mull. The possibilities to visit Mull Isle from here are therefore easy and safe to recommend. Sufficient restaurants to dine on. It is advisable to book more than 1 night because Mull is quite large. In short: top location with super-host woman!

    Ernst2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Linda is a very friendly & accommodating hostess. Our room was, just like our bathroom, visually very attractive and clean. Although the accommodation is located in a small town that does not have any shopping facilities (food should be bought in one of the shops near the corran ferry), it offers a wonderful view of the sea.

    Marcini2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We particularly enjoyed Linda's welcome in her beautiful home facing the Isle of Mull. The room was very comfortable and the meals delicious. Linda could help us out one night or all the restaurants were closed.

  • Linda is a very lovely lady who made us feel right at home. The room was very spacious, clean and new. We arrived on a monday and because we couldn't find anything to eat when we arrived Linda cooked us up some lovely fish n chips and dessert. Breakfast was also delish. The location is also beautifull with great views.

  • Very spacious and spotless room on the ground floor of a modern house with sea view. Large and beautiful bathroom with shower and bath, heated towel rail ... Perfect place to rest.

  • Linda and her B&B was stunning. She is very warm, kind and helpful host and welcomed us with the amazing view of a lake and an island. The room was perfectly clean and had a brief private entrance that allows you to go to outside easily. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was outstanding. We really enjoyed staying there and hope to come back. It's really easy to go to the ferry port even by walking and there is a famous and popular restaurant in the neighbour. Strongly recommend everyone.

  • Everything is great at Linda's place. Absolutely clean and scenic views on Mull island. The ferry to Mull is 1 min away by car. Not talking about the fabulous breakfast. Thanks again Linda !

  • Linda is a wonderful host and makes extraordinary efforts to make her guest comfortable attending to their needs even before they are expressed! She reserved a table for us at the only good restaurant in the area, which we unfortunately could not use. The home is tastefully done with all amenities. Breakfasts are sumptuous with made to order hot dishes. The views from the bedroom, sitting room and dining area are stunning! There is ample parking space. The home is conveniently located for those desiring to visit Isle of Mull as the ferry terminal is a couple of minutes away by car.

  • Linda is a great host, her breakfast is tasty and she takes care her guests have everything they might need. It is possible to have dinner with her, which comes as soup/main/dessert and is very tasty. She likes to have a little chat with her guests and makes you feel at home.
