Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland

Arguably, 'The Nearest House to New York'. Our house by the pier is unique & eclectic. We have our own beach, rock pools and garden for you to enjoy! Includes welcome pack, bathrobes, toiletries, starter supply logs for your arrival. Pub and restaurant: 150mtrs Playground: 150mtrs Harbour: steps away for fishing & trips Shannon Airport: 1hr 15min Dublin: 310km (Major roads excellent) Dolphin watch, fishing, golf, seaweed baths, walks/cycling, bird watch, surf, kayak, pubs, live music.
Special note: If the dates you would like to book are not available on the calendar, don't despair, send us a quick message and we'll see what we can do! Please be aware that the local pub is closed from October to March! However, there are plenty of other pubs in the vicinity but NOT within walking distance. INSTAGRAM PAGE: @wildatlanticwayhome Built on the footprint of a fisherman's cottage, attention to detail has resulted in a unique large and comfortable home with a dash of quirkiness! The location of the house is fabulous, with unhindered views around the bay and across the river Shannon to Kerry. A few steps away and you are on the small sandy beach with rock pools and the little harbour dating from 1830's. The lounge is huge with unhindered views across the bay, the ceilings of the lounge and kitchen are clad with wood to the eaves, making you think that you're under an upturned boat! The floors are ancient slate flags, a huge open fire stove creates the right ambience. There is a 'starter supply' of turf, logs and coal on either side of the fireplace. More fuel can be purchased locally. There are two seating areas in the lounge. The one by the fire offers a wonderful retreat of warmth & comfort in front of a roaring fire, put your feet up and relax with a beverage, have a game of backgammon or simply put the world to rights! There are two vintage leather club chairs and a two seater sofa. The seating area by the bay window has fabulous views of the river Shannon and across to Kerry. Two large sofas, two armchairs and two rocking chairs ensure plenty of favourite spots. In the middle of the lounge is a dining table for eight persons, each dining stool has a luxurious natural sheepskin seat. Above one half of the lounge is a garret - a traditional 'attic room' that in days gone by, the spinster aunt would have slept there! We couldn't resist adding this and it gives an interesting aspect to the lounge, unfortunately, access to the garret is restricted at the moment. With a music system throughout the lounge and kitchen and with no neighbours - you can turn the volume up! The system has a facility for smartphones, iPhones etc to play your own music. Be sure to bring your own cables - ours seem to walk! The kitchen is spacious with 2 x two seater sofas and a breakfast table for six. It also has a high pitched ceiling with fisherman lantern lights. The kitchen is well equipped for any type of cooking and a dishwasher makes light work of the clearing up! The flag floor - is perfect for dancing! Both bedrooms have en-suite (wet room) shower, hand basin and toilet. The porch is perfect to catch the sun with magnificent views across to Kerry. The garden is purposely left wild with meadow flowers, Yellow Flags, Marshallow trees, Monbretia, Wild Fuschia and other native plants & flowers including the 'rogue' weeds! Note to any enthusiastic gardeners - due to the proximity to the water and the expanse of garden, its impossible to have a manicured garden, it's purposely left wild. Bath robes, towels, toiletries, beverages include herbal teas, tea, coffee. The welcome pack consists of soda bread, scones, milk and butter. Cereals and some provisions are in the kitchen store and you are welcome to use them. If you have any dietary requirements i.e. soy milk, gluten free etc.. please let us know before you arrive to ensure your welcome pack is satisfactory. Guests may use foodstuffs in the cupboard which include condiments, pasta, rice, olive oil etc. There's a good supply of books, Backgammon, Scrabble, playing cards etc., nothing nicer than sitting in front of a turf fire curled up with a good book, hot chocolate and the wind and rain whirling around outside. The sea is magnificent when the weather turns wild! Hygge (pronounced hue-guh not hoo-gah) is a Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special... In Ireland the word is CLUTHAR!
Loop Head is on the Wild Atlantic Way and won the Irish Times title, 'The Best Place to Holiday' in 2013. Loop Head features unspoilt landscapes, spectacular cliffs and extraordinary beauty. Eco tourism and sustainability are key factors and the community is small and friendly. One pub within 150 mtrs from the house which serve great homemade food & have occasional live music. You can arrange a fishing trip from the pier - only steps away from the house! Children's playground is a short walk from the house and beside it is a 'memorial garden' which gives the history of our small community. Loop Head Lighthouse well worth a visit. On your left sits the Shannon and your right is the Atlantic. Straight ahead is America! Star Wars was filmed on location here and a special treat is if on a clear night you head up there - armed with hot chocolate and warm clothes - the stars are glorious! The Bridges of Ross - spectacular natural feature and not too far to walk. The Gallery is on the Lighthouse Rd and has a lovely selection of gifts, artworks and a great coffee shop with homemade cakes. A warm welcome is always guaranteed by Liz and Ailish, they also provide tourist information. The Long Dock, Carrigaholt is 8km away and has been in the Top 100 Best Pubs in Ireland for food for the past two years. Another award winning restaurant is Murphy Blacks in Kilkee, which is about 21km away Dolphin Watch, Carrigaholt - experienced marine staff take you out and they can usually guarantee a sighting. Also in Carrigaholt is Sealyons - selling fresh, local fish/seafood. Seaweed Baths and seaweed wraps are in Kilkee and they also have a beauty salon Kilkee Bay offers surfing/kayaking lessons and includes rental of wet suits. A day at the seaside can be an adventure if you go to visit the Pollock Holes in Kilkee. These are large rock pools and some are so big that you can swim in them. O'Shea's coffee shop with great food in Kilkee. Stella Maris, Kilkee a pub with good food and friendly atmosphere. Golf and Spa at Trump International, Doonbeg (32km). This is a links golf course on a fabulous bay. The hotel and spa are 5* Day trips to The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Spanish Point are all easy drives. In the house, we have given directions and pinpointed rest places. Please see our guidebook for more places to visit and things to do. There are brochures in the house.

The room is comfortable and with a private bathroom. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruits, cereals, jams, freshly made scrambled eggs, fried tomatos, sausage,....etc Elizabeth and Pat were a wonderful hosts, we highly recommend!

  • Fantastic stay with our baby. Nice house, crib and great breakfast. Host was very nice and had info on the area. Got to try their farms milk where Kerry Gold butter comes from. The cliffs near by are amazing and are a substitute if you don't have time for the Cliffs of Moher.

  • Lovely countryside home with easy access to the local eating and drinking establishments and perfect for exploring all that Loop Head has to offer. Elizabeth makes a lovely omelette as well!!

My house is almost at the end of the Loop Head peninsula, part of the Wild Atlantic Way. It is comfortable, warm and very colourful. The views across Fodra and Ross bays are stunning. The house is situated up a short track off the road and is very peaceful. It makes a great base to explore County Clare, somewhere warm and cosy to come back to after a long day exploring. Price is based on 2 people sharing and includes a full cooked breakfast for 2. Fruit, cereals and yoghurt also available.
The views from the house are remarkable and unique. Depending on visibility you can see the Aran Islands and the 12 pins of Conamarra as well as the local bays. The area is very quiet, a great place to relax in. All you can hear is the sea, the birds and maybe the odd tractor. You can lose hours sitting in the big lounge just watching the Atlantic waves crash in. Out of Season - October to March. If you need an evening meal I can cook one for you, I am an experienced cook and use local, fresh products. Price to be arranged
The area is fantastic for walking and bird watching. I have tiled floors so no worries about muddy boots. The Loop Head lighthouse is close by, as is Kilbaha Gallery and coffee shop and Keatings pub. Slightly further away - 15 minutes by car - is The Long Dock, an award winning restaurant which open every day in the season and weekends out of season. Please be aware there is no public transport on Loop Head and the opening of local businesses is seasonal. The main season starts at the end of March and goes onto until October. There are local places to eat, just a bit further away in Kilkee.
  • Kim is a loving and careful host, allowing us to stay somewhat longer when one of us didn’t feel well. That gave us time to walk to Loophead light house, accompanied by Poppy, which was really a joy. Took us short of 2 hrs along the cliffs, starting right from Kim’s house. The location is a little remote, but worth every km thanks to the beautiful views from this charming house.

    Chris2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kim is a wonderful host and her beautiful home is truly where the land meets the sky. We could not believe how gorgeous the location was, and enjoyed one of the most memorable walks of out trip right out of her door and onto the coast! Kim is incredibly generous and kind and her warm welcome, hospitality, and excellent local tips made our trip so much richer. She is an amazing artist and it was lovely to be in a home filled with art, our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! Also the breakfast she cooked us was one of the best of our trip, so delicious!

    Kailie2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom is part of the house. The bathroom is also part of the house. Kim was very hospitable and made an amazing breakfast for us. She does have 2 dogs that are energetic and loving, but it is not a place for people who do not love dogs.

    Lisa2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's has a truly lovely spot in an Irish locale you will not see on the tour bus loops. Situated in the midst of working farms and rolling pasture which end in cliffs of the Atlantic, it is a peaceful respite and a great place from which to see what Loop Head has to offer. The lighthouse, natural bridge, and small coastal towns can keep you busy for a few days if you like, but time is well spent just sitting on the cliffs overlooking the ocean too. Kim is a gracious host and fun to chat with, and Poppy (her dog) is a sweetheart. Breakfast was great too!

    Eric2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's house is in an outstanding location with spectacular views of the Loop Head cliffs, pastures and coastline. It is remote, authentic and unspoiled. If that weren't enough, Kim is an incredible hostess. She made us the best breakfasts of our trip , with bacon, eggs, sausages, fruit, and the best Irish bread with loads of butter and jams. She is an artist, so her sparkling clean home is filled with interesting art and unique decor. The bathroom is huge and the shower is hot. We had every convenience we wanted and more.Plus, we loved chatting with Kim, who gave us great tips (we went to the charming local church, and had a fantastic meal at The Long Dock on Easter thanks to Kim's recommendation) and went on breathtaking hikes. We can't say enough about how great this B&B was. We will be back.

    Lisa2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifull place with a fantastic woman and a nice dog

    Elsa2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kim & pup Poppy provide super hospitality in a gorgeous location. Kim’s home is warm, cosy, beautifully decorated with her artwork & looks out over the Atlantic coast. Kim provides a great breakfast & lots of suggestions for local sight seeing.

    Jen2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay in Kim’s beautiful home. The views are breathtaking, the welcome so warm and breakfast delicious. This home is located in a fabulous part of the country, up the way from the spectacular Bridges of Ross and around the corner from Loop Head lighthouse. Go enjoy.

  • This is a beautiful home, located in a perfect spot on the Loop Head Peninsula. Elizabeth and Pat are great hosts and make you feel at home from the minute you walk in their door. The room and bathroom were immaculate with all the comforts and amenities to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and casual. We would definitely recommend Elizabeth and Pat’s BnB and look forward to our next stay.

The Olde Attic is a family-run guesthouse and bar on Ballybunion's Main Street, two minutes walk from the famous Ladies' Strand. The guesthouse adjoins a traditional Irish pub, The Olde Attic, which serves pub grub and features regular live music.
Centrally located, the Olde Attic has been run by husband and wife Tim Joe and Noreen Griffin for nearly 20 years. Breakfast is served every morning to suit your tastes, be it a continental buffet or full Irish fry. Dietary requirements are easily provided for. Each room is spaciously appointed, with en-suites, TV and WiFi access. Children are welcomed and easily accommodated.
Ballybunion is a town that truly has something for everyone! The world-famous Ballybunion Golf Club is located one kilometre from the B&B and Tim Joe, as an occasional golfer, will be happy to advise you on the course. The beach is conveniently located, whether you want to go for a ramble or take a traditional seaweed bath. The Cliff Walk takes in the ancient Nine-Daughter's Hole and the Virgin Rock. For the more adventurous, a walk up Knockanore is a must to watch the sun set over the Shannon Estuary. Ballybunion is also a night-life hotspot, with several bars within walking distance, from pubs featuring ceilí bands to nightclubs with up-and-coming DJs.
  • We stayed for 2 nights at "The old Attic". The hosts were very friendly and very helpful too! We were guests outside of the main season, so there was little going on. But: we got to know a lot of locals and had two great evenings! :) unfortunately the old attic (pub) was closed, that could still be mentioned in the description. The B'n'B is absolutely central! Breakfast is perfect! ;) Thanks for the great time!

  • Wonderful location within walking distance of the town sights.

    Deborah2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for one night, but the place was perfect for what we needed! The breakfast Noreen cooked in the morning was delightful, full fry with eggs cooked the way we wanted! The location is fantastic for walking down to the beach and for going to the local watering holes. Max was also lovely! The friendliest dog I've had the pleasure to meet :)

This 130 year old cottage, lovingly restored and full of character, retains its original stone finish - inside and out. Set on an acre of landscaped garden, it was the former home of Michael Brennan, a local blacksmith.
The ground floor, finished with Mexican Terracotta, covers approximately 35 square meters with underfloor heating. Two mezzanine floors have been added and floored with beautifully-grained Honduran pitch pine. The high ceilings and roof beams remain exposed. The lounge area centres around a multi-fuel stove. Within the original stone wall, there are many interesting details to be found. Above the fireplace, there is an old-style drying rack operated by a manual pulley system. This is anchored with a 'calf-hook', a feature in old farmhouses used for tethering young animals during long winter nights. The mezzanine loft twin room overlooks the lounge area and is accessed by a spiral staircase. The two double bedrooms are located behind the chimney breast, the upper being accessed by an open stone stairway. The bathroom comprises a shower, with exposed copper plumbing fixtures, toilet and handbasin. Solar panels provide ample hot water all year round. The landscaped gardens are very secluded and south-facing. There is off-road, gated carparking for 3 vehicles.
Brennan's Old House is situated on the lower road between the villages of Cross and Kilbaha; both are renowned for their restaurants, pubs and traditional music. A guide with our personal favourites and recommendations is kept in the cottage. This headland is known as Loop Head. It is one of the most remote and beautiful places in the country, dividing the Shannon estuary from the open sea and is a Signature Point on the Wild Atlantic Way (the world's longest defined coastal touring route). It was designated Ireland's Aquatic Destination of Excellence in 2010 and was named the Irish Times 'Best Place to Holiday in Ireland' in their 2013 competition. The lighthouse, at the point of Loop Head, is Clare's most westerly point with magnificent views of the Limerick and Kerry coastline, the Shannon and the Atlantic. It has stood guard there for over 340 years. Nearby, the Bridges of Ross are natural arches spanning the inlet of a natural harbour leading to the Atlantic Ocean. Birdwatching, Dolphin-watching and Angling are all activities available in the locality, with golfing and surfing hotspots located further north along the coast. The Loophead Summer Hedge School combines an exploration of the unusual flora of the Loop Head peninsula with poetry, art and creativity workshops, and wild food foraging.
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Aoife’s cottage. What a great place! Check-in with Mary was easy, great response time from both Aoife and Mary. The layout, furniture and very nicely chosen decorations made it so nice a cozy on the cold winter nights. We were always happy to come home and lounge by the fire after a day outside exploring Loop Head in the winter ( February). Also the lack of mobile reception and internet was a real bonus for us overworked city folk. There are also plenty of nice extras there such as board games, puzzles, books, and a very handy info folder with lots of tips for the area. We had a great time on Loop Head and definitely could have stayed a couple days longer at Aoife’s. Thanks a lot!

    Tristan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a getaway. Lovely and warm and the neighbour Mary welcomed us. Would go again for sure, when we need a break from work.

    Dave2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit was just as good as out first! Such a beautiful house to spend a few relaxing days in!

    Lorraine2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and lovingly restored cottage with so much charm and refined details. We really enjoyed our stay there and immediately felt comfortable. The beds were the best in our entire trip to Ireland and apart from a few spiders in the house (which somehow just fitted in and I'm actually not a spider friend :-D) everything was super clean. There is also a large selection of board games that kept us entertained with a glass of wine in the evening :-). I don't want to say much about the area but I have been to Loop Head twice and it is still my favorite place there. I can absolutely recommend the accommodation and I can very well imagine spending my next stay at Loop Head again. Definitely longer than two nights :-)!

    Sophie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully restored cottage in an amazing location. We will definitely return in the future!

    Leo2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Disconnect and refresh! This is absolutely the place to do it. Aoife responds quickly and directions are accurate (we were able to use google maps as well with directions give). I do suggest trying to get there in daylight your first time. The lights and heat were on for us. Heated floors!! Heated floors! These were a fantastic surprise. The kitchen has a cooker, ice box, cookware and utensils. Linens were all fresh and clean. No cell coverage or internet - a blessing! However, if you need service we were able to catch it just up the road. If you are looking to unwind and relax - this is absolutely he place to be. It was beautiful in the winter, I can only guess it is even more amazing in the summer.

    Alicia2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is exactly what you’re looking for. As of our stay, it was exactly what we were looking for. Great views, updated cottage. Plenty of spaces to sleep. A great time. Highly recommend!

    Eric2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! What a beautiful cottage; the love and thoughtfulness that went into restoring it is everywhere. Its a very unique place to stay that is definitely off the beaten path. Aoife was an excellent host and always replied quickly. She also gave lots of advice when booking along with very detailed directions on how to get to the cottage. It was cosy and the beds were comfortable, I would absolutely recommend staying at the cottage!

    Karen2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything went very well in Monika and Chris' accommodation which we highly recommend for a successful holiday and in Ireland!

  • The house is in the heart of the village and is 10 out of 10 for location . It's a very cosy house with plenty of room for 4 adults and 1 child. The house was spotless on arrival and a nice warm welcome from Mary on arrival day and was on hand for any questions. Will be back next year .

    Matthew2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Monika's cottage was the perfect base from which to explore Loop Head. Cosy, comfortable, clean, well-equipped, and a great location, next to the village pubs and restaurant. We'll be back!

    Darren2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully cozy cottage. Comfy beds nice updated bathrooms. Wonderful people in a very special quaint village and a great kind and attentive caretaker. Mary 💚

    Bev2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Carrigaholt. We loved the small town feel...short walk to the ocean, large beaches, cliffs, a castle, and of course a pub or two just a few doors down. Two weeks wasn’t enough to see (and go back to) all of the locations we wanted to explore. Must go back one day.

    Stephanie2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Who can resist renting a stone house in Ireland with a green door? We couldn't. The house was convenient to our Loop Head family and friends who we invited to join us for evenings in front of the fire. How lovely to be able to walk back to our lodging after a meal at The Long Dock or an evening at Carmody's. We were traveling light so appreciated the wide the selection of books. Though the weather was cold and windy, the house stayed warm and the bedding was toasty. Nothing can damp the spirits when one is in Loop Head. We look forward to staying at Monika's home again.

    Karen2018-11-07T00:00:00Z

A great home from home for any trip to Ballybunion.

    Susan2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place was one of the most clean Airbnb houses we have seen so far. Everything was organized and the house had everything you can look for in a short/long term holidays. It's close to the beach and the town center is walkable distance. Mary and her husband Vincent were very welcoming and friendly. The only downside of the property is that electricity bill is not included in the cost. It wasn't listed anywhere in the description as well. Apart from that our stay was very pleasant. Thank you for a very nice weekend stay!

    Tugba2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's house is in a perfect location near to Ballybunion. You can walk to the town centre and the beach. The house is very comfortably furnished, with excellent kitchen equipment and a few essentials for cooking. Mary provides lots of local information on North Kerry, if you feel the need to venture further afied. The beds were really comfortable, and all linen and towels provided.

The accommodation is great with two of the bedrooms en-suite and a further bathroom downstairs. The kitchen is bright and spacious with sliding doors to the garden. It is great value too. With beaches within five minutes of walking or cycling, this cottage is perfect for getting away from it all. There is no TV or wifi - you can choose to escape the 21st century, or bring along your own laptop and hotspot from your phone if you prefer. The decor is very simple but stylish in this cottage, which is at least 200 years old. In the garden, birds often provide the only sounds and the view of the river Shannon over to Kerry is stunning. Follow us on instagram; @Shannonsidecottage.
On the field behind the house local young people sometimes play traditional irish sports. The village of Carrigaholt is nearby and towns of Kilkee and Kilrush are not far away. Loop Head (featured on latest Star Wars!) was named by the Irish Times as the best place to holiday in Ireland and the local village of Carrigaholt is notable for its Dolphin Watch and excellent sea food. There is also a lovely pub to eat at in Kilbaha. If you don't feel like moving far at all, dolphins in the river have been sighted from the kitchen window.
Situated on the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, so is perfect if you wish to explore further afield, north through Clare taking in the Cliffs of Moher and into Galway or south to Kerry. Golfing at Doonbeg or surfing at Spanish Point or Lahinch are easily accessible by car.
  • This is a lovely private cottage in a great location. It has everything you want for a nice break in the area and was very clean and well presented. Would definitely recommend

  • Wonderful cottage with everything you could need for break in this part off the world. The garden is lovely cottage had everything you would need including comfortable beds and great showers. All the toys as well including bikes and games.

  • We used this as a base to visit the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, as well as the Pollock Holes and horse-riding on the beach. Great place to cycle and we saw dolphins on our return the Aran islands! We loved the soda bread and marmalade when we arrived - a really nice touch. This place is simple but provides a great location to explore key sites.

    Rob2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Shannonside is a special place! it’s a great, quiet location and our host started our stay out right with fresh bread, butter and jam! day trips around the loop head peninsula were easy to access and the secluded beach just around the corner was lovely!!

    Meredith2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed ourselfs at this wonderful place very close to the Shannon river and Atlantic. We made a couple of trips to the well known hot spots at the west coast like Cliffs of Moher and Burren. But we recognized soon that there are very nice spots very close to the cottage. Cliffs of Kilkee might be even more beautiful than their big sister and also a hike around the Loop Head was really impressive. Thanks a lot Frank

    Frank2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable cottage which made a great base for exploring the Loop Head peninsula, which is spectacular. A car is essential to take advantage of the many excellent restaurants in Carrigaholt, Kilbaha and Kilkee. Bikes are provided but as we had our dog with us, we didn't take advantage. Plenty of basics are provided upon arrival, the Soda bread being a lovely treat. Supplies are available at Kilrush, approx. 20 mins in car. The cottage is well furnished and had everything we needed for our 10 day stay. Sarah was also happy to accept our dog, so we can highly recommend Shannon Side as a cosy home from home. Thank you Sarah for your hospitality.

    Mark2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a cosy house full of character in a rural location, this is for you! There is plenty to do, relax in the expansive garden, swim in the local sandy beach or explore the wild Atlantic way. Thank you Sarah.

    Eimear2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • After booking the cottage we immediately received a very friendly and detailed mail with a description how to get there and an overview of what is provided. The cottage has a lot of character with its stone floors, peat oven and old-fashioned furniture. There is a lovely view down across the fields to the River Shannon. Everything you need is provided, including tea, coffee and condiments, so there is no need to bring any with you (you just have to replace anything you use). There was a delicious loaf of soda bread waiting for us on the table which went down very well! We enjoyed our stay very much: if you want peace and quiet this is absolutely the right place. We didn't use the bikes that are part of the cottage but think for a longer stay we probably would have, as there are lots of places easily reachable by bike. In the surrounding area, we particularly recommend the spectacular scenery of the Loop Head Peninsula and a boat trip with Dolphin Watch in Carrigaholt. There are not many shops nearby; you need to go to Kilkee or Kilrush for a large-ish supermarket with more choice, although there are a couple of small shops more locally. There are also not many restaurants nearby: we would recommend Keatings Bar and Restaurant in Kilbaha.

The kitchen has everything you need and the beds are really cosy. The WIFI throughout the house is great and a fantastic bonus as we've stayed in other places in Ballybunnion that didn't offer this. Lisa was fantastic to deal with and always there if we needed her while respecting our space and giving us distance to enjoy our holiday. Location is brilliant, just a short stroll to the town and beach.

From the moment we arrived Eileen was on hand before we even needed her, yet the space to do our own thing was never compromised. And the value for money was the icing on the cake.

  • Eileen is a "great host": welcoming, generous, welcoming and has this little extra to help you and make your stay more enjoyable. The view from the room to the sea is pleasant and reveals the Irish charm. If you want to take the ferry this BnB is for you. We will come back :)

  • Bromore cottage is a magical place steeped in history, bordering with an extraordinary site that are cliffs cliffs. As well as a charming town Ballybunnion. We loved our stay at Mickael and Eilish which are of great kindness and hospitality!

  • If you want to experience the true Irish hospitality. You can’t go wrong with Bromore Cottage. We had a great time there. Lots of good memories were made even if it rained everyday!!

    Madeline2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We (my mother, two friends and I) stayed at the Bromore Cottage for one week. The Bromore Cliffs are much more closer to the house than we`ve expected. They are really worth a visit! We were lucky and could watch some wild seals. One day Michael guided us at the cliffs and showed us a baby seal. It was one of our highlights! As well as the sunset which we enjoyed a lot with Bart (the horse) beeing our photo model. The Cottage is cozy and contained everything we needed. We really appreciated the silence there. It is a good place to have a time out and be far from the busy city life. But with time and a car you still can visite a lot of things in the remaining part of Irland. We can recommend the house to everyone who loves the beauty of nature, as well as animals. Michael and Eilish are very friendly and attentively hosts. We loved our vacation at Bromore and we hope that we can come back some day. We`ll miss the Irishman and their special kindness. Equally we`ll miss the "morning meows" from the cats. Greetings from Germany

  • My husband and three young boys spent a week in Bromore and we absolutely loved it. The scenery close by is breathtaking. The enclosed garden out back is very safe and the chickens and ducks are lovely neighbours. Four very spacious bedrooms, 3 toilets, with 2 showers, it's a great cottage with some lovely original features. We would love to come back for future holidays to Kerry.

    Marguerite2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place to say. You can skip the super touristy cliffs of Moher, stay here and have your own piece of beauty with the Bromore Cliffs. Incredible! Oh...and the house is nice too!

    Chris2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mike & Eilis's house is a delight. It's spacious, charming and well equipped. The setting is stunning with the Bromore cliffs practically in the back garden. It's a few minutes into Ballybunion and about 15 minutes into Listowel. Mike & Eilish were so helpful and kind and a pleasure to deal with. I'd highly recommend the house.

  • Tim's place was a great place to stay, right in the middle of town. We were able to walk down to the beach and to all the shops. We were also able to hang out at the pub below our sleeping quarters until closing time (12:30 on weekends) and then get right to sleep. The breakfast was delicious and Tim's wife (whose name escapes me) was very accommodating of requests. The space was very clean.

    Mary2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The “season” had not technically started so town was very quiet and pub below not open, but Tim and his wife were very nice! Large, clean room.
