Our self-contained annex has two bedrooms and sleeps four. Set in rolling hills in the beautiful Wye Valley with stunning views. A large meadow, play area, heated indoor pool ( April-Sept) & outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub, and great pub just five minutes walk away make it a fabulous rural retreat!
May Hill View S/C Annex is just a five-minute drive from the picturesque market town of Ross on Wye and five minutes from M50 junction 3. There is a vast array of things to do on your doorstep. Historical Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester with their famous cathedrals. The castles of Goodrich, Raglan, Chepstow and Eastnor. Tintern Abbey and various National Trust and English Heritage sites all near. The ancient Forest of Dean is a magnet for horse riding, walkers and cyclists and for golfers there are two fabulous courses literally a two-minute drive away. Opportunities for lake and river fishing are just nearby. Canoeing and cruising on the nearby River Wye are also very popular. Symonds Yat Rock, May Hill, the Malvern Hills, the Black Hills and Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away. The Annex is approx 30 metres away from the main house. It is private and has its own entrance. Cosy and warm (electric blankets too!) with all the usual amenities. The kitchen area has an undercounter fridge with small freezer compartment, a two ring hob, a kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, a toaster and a microwave which is also an oven. All utilities are included in the price, also essentials such as beverages, milk, cereals, condiments, cooking oil, washing up liquid. A Welcome cake on arrival! Storage and cleaning for bikes and any outdoor kit. Washing machine and drying facilities are available. Cot/cot side and high chair on request. There is tarmac private off-road parking. We offer the use of a fabulous heated (27 - 28 degrees ) indoor pool from the beginning of the Easter hols to the end of September with Bluetooth music system and great countryside views. Also a lovely Jacuzzi hot tub which is available all year round for sole guest use to relax in and do a little star gazing! These are both by arrangement at times that are mutually convenient.
There is a lovely pub, the Moody Cow, which recently appeared in the Guardian newspaper as one of the top 50 places to have Sunday lunch is a five-minute walk up the road. It is advisable to book ahead as gets very busy at the weekend especially. There are several local footpaths. With the Round Ross Trail a minute from the front of the property.
  • Sonya is a wonderful host. So many personal and thoughtful touches because it was my birthday. Very kind. The view from the hot tub is perfect. We had a great relaxing weekend.

  • Such a cute place to stay and relax! Sonya is so lovely and welcoming and gave us some great ideas of things to do during our stay. Unfortunately we didn't use the hot tub due to the weather but it is a lovely hot tub and very easy to use with a scenic view. Luckily the weather didn't stop us from having a lovely weekend! Thank you so much Sonya!

  • Staying here was an absolutely magical experience - the Annex is beautiful, cosy and super clean. Sonya was the perfect host, lovely to speak to, thoughtful (personal touches noted!) and so accommodating. The amenities were plentiful, with everything you could think of. For anyone with children, the Annex is an absolute gold mine - lots of games, DVDs, books and toys for hours of entertainment. The hot tub is the finishing touch - it is LUSH! It lives right by the Annex but is very private as it's surrounded by shrubs/greenery. You can enjoy looking up at the night sky if you fancy going for a dip in the evening, or look out into the fields by day. I'd encourage anyone looking into staying here to go for it, it was an amazing experience and we look forward to coming back!

  • We had a lovely stay here for two nights! The location and Annex are lovely, sparking clean and very cozy! Sonya had added some lovely touches including but not limited to home made fudge and apple juice. The hot tub is perfect and with great views from it, lovely on a cold winters night. The local pub is a must visit for fantastic food and friendly staff. With Sonya being a delightful host to wrap it all together!

    Andy2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay with friends, when we arrived we received a friendly welcome. The highlight for us was the hot tub, especially at night to gaze up at the stars on a clear night. The location was spot on for some great walks and a short distance to a smashing pub which served top quality food.

A luxury hideaway in the grounds of an old cider producing Herefordshire farmhouse, Woodcutters Cottage provides a great base to explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Wye Valley. Cheltenham Racecourse is within easy reach for the Festival in March as well as other festivals for the non-horsey throughout the year - jazz, science and literary. Hay festival is also close enough to use this gorgeous cottage as a base. Dogs welcome by prior arrangement.
Woodcutters Cottage is situated between Ross-on-Wye and Hereford and is in the centre of Cider producing country. This very private and cosy cottage makes an ideal base to explore the area, or as an ideal stop on the Wye Valley Walk which runs along the edge of our land. The cottage is fully equipped and self-contained with all the comforts of home. It is self-catering and we provide a welcome breakfast basket of bread, bacon and eggs for you to prepare your own breakfast. Local villages of Woolhope and Fownhope boast inviting pubs with good local beer and cider and a village shop and post office in Fownhope will have all the basics you may need for your holiday. Hereford with its beautiful cathedral is 8 miles away and the city is well worth a visit. Westons Cider is only a few miles away and tours can be booked so you can see how our delicious local cider is produced. Canoeing on the Wye River is easy to organise during the Summer and is a peaceful way to spend a day enjoying the countryside. We are easy to get to with the M50 only a few miles away.
The surrounding countryside is beautiful, on the doorstep is the Wye Valley Walk. Local market towns of Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye are within easy reach - and the Malvern Hills, Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are a short drive away. You may want to: - visit Westons cider in Much Marcle village - canoe on the riverWye - visit Hereford Cathedral to see the Mappa Mundi
  • This cottage is absolutely gorgeous. Although it has one bedroom, the layout makes it feel more spacious. Three of us stayed for 2 nights. Kirstie was kind enough to put a mattress in the bedroom, for our teenage daughter. It is spotlessly clean, homely and the log burning stove was cosy. The added bonus of a downstairs shower room together with a spacious bathroom upstairs, is useful. The chocolate brownies were scrumptious, together with the pint of milk, bread, bacon, eggs and marmalade. Kirstie was friendly and informative before we arrived, even taking the time to send me a video to explain how to manoeuvre our trailer! Her family and the pooches, made us feel very welcome. The location was ideal as we were taking part in an event, close by. Set in beautiful countryside, it is close enough to a few local excellent pubs. There's plenty of walks around the area and Ledbury isn't far. A great stay that I would highly recommend to others. Thank you.

    Claire2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cottage in stunning countryside. Easy check-in and lovely to have some milk and breakfast items awaiting us. Great amenities with the added bonus of two bathrooms. Super comfy bed, and gorgeous soft furnishings. The nearby pub The Crown, does great food and has a lovely, friendly landlord. Highly recommend this AirBnB.

    Abi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting, very cosy and the host was excellent. Lovely little touches upon our arrival and was very catering for our dog.

    Olivia2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy and very stylish retreat set in beautiful surroundings. Opening the velux window looking out to an enchanted wood and seeing fawns running ahead of you on the drive up to the cottage where highlights. The cottage is spotless, fresh flowers, breakfast in the morning, a vast array of housey mags added to the sumptuousness of the cottage. Kirstie is lovely and we even had homemade brownies upon arrival left for us. I’d definitely recommend anyone to stay here. It’s quite a magical place! 💫

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at the Woodcutters Cottage! The cottage is perfect for 2 people (and dog!), clean, quiet and in beautiful countryside. Thanks to Kirstie for having us stay!

  • My husband and I spent a weekend staying at Anne’s little cottage. It was absolutely perfect, lovely location (we can highly recommend eating at the Green Man pub in the village), immaculate condition and cleanliness, and a very peaceful spot, with lovely views over the fields. Anne was a very kind host, who was very responsive from the outset and who on arrival kindly welcomed us. Highly recommended if you would like a peaceful escape!

    Tamara2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful holiday home in a beautiful quiet location with a stunning view and a very hospitable host. Recommended! We stayed here for six days during the New Year.

    Marcus2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleased with our choice. We had everything we needed and were cosy and warm as this was a Christmas break. Ann was a super host, providing lots of little extras like milk and bread, also a Christmas tree and fairy lights. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. The downstairs bedroom was novel!! We felt it was our own private space even though we were attached to the family residence. Lovely open aspect from the lounge. We would book again

    Susan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Anne's cottage is a welcoming and cosy place to relax and recoup in the beautiful Hereford area. The cottage is set at the end of a lane overlooking picturesque fields. My partner and I enjoyed two restful nights in the cottage (some of the best sleep we've had in a long time!) after visiting nearby Bath on the drive over and fishing on the river Wye. The bread, eggs, milk and tea and coffee were a lovely touch after a long journey! We had a fantastic meal in the Green Man pub which is about a 5 min walk from the cottage. We will definitely be staying here again. Absolutely perfect.

  • This was my second visit to this beautiful cottage. The last time was in summer but it was just as perfect as a winter getaway - incredibly cosy with the wood burner roaring & a plentiful supply of logs delivered to the door along with fresh eggs from the hens! The space has everything I needed for a restful retreat - well equipped kitchen, incredibly comfortable bed for deep sleep, beautiful views, wonderful walks, peace & space to think & even in winter the garden is really inspiring. I can't recommend it highly enough!

  • I booked Little Canwood House for a family get together to celebrate my mothers 60th. The cottage was a lovely escape to the country with charming features throughout. Every last detail has been thought through and my whole family had a wonderful time, even the little ones were sad to leave! Would love to stay again and would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the English countryside. Thanks again to Andrea for her wonderful support through email and whatsapp to answer all of our questions within the hour without exception. Thoroughly enjoyed!

  • A very welcoming and beautifully decorated home in the English countryside. Clean and warm house. Thoughtfully filled gift basket of pantry supplies and treats waiting when we arrived. It was quite muddy and wet on the weekend of our stay, but the house was so comfortable we had a great time playing board games and hanging out indoors anyway! We enjoyed our weekend stay very much. Thanks Charmaine!

  • Fabulous, warm, beautifully decorated, all amenities you could wish for, brilliant manager Andrea, the area is stunning with lots to do but you could happily while away hours in the house and games room. A really treaty retreat.

  • This is the ideal spot for a family get together in the countryside. We were 5 adults and a 1 year old and the space felt just perfect: plenty of lounging areas, a big kitchen and dining space, large lawns and a games room to keep everyone entertained, both children and adults. We were here in summer and really enjoyed all the outdoor space and bbq area but it would be so cosy in winter as well. Charmaine responded very quickly to any queries we had and left a gorgeous basket of goodies for our arrival - a perfect host. Thank you so much. Everyone in our party was very happy and had an extremely relaxing weekend.

  • My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Byron house. The place was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, cosy and felt like home for us. Andrew the host was prompt with answering my messages and accommodated any requests that I had so I’m extremely grateful for that. There was everything you could want in the house and the surrounding area was absolutely stunning. The village the house is situated in is lovely and quaint. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We loved it that much we didn’t want to leave on the Monday.

In 2012 Little Rock Barn was beautifully converted into a modern functional space with luxury bathrooms, while retaining the character of the original dairy with vaulted ceilings and stone walls. Being located in the Wye Valley, this is an ideal place for those wishing to walk, cycle, canoe or just explore the hidden gems of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The open plan layout creates a light and airy space. Under floor heating throughout and a lovely wood burner offers a cosy atmosphere. The barn has ample space for parking and a garden with patio area. From the front door and garden there is a stunning view of the Wye Valley and surrounding countryside. We can provide a travel cot on request. Please ask us about any other requirements you may have. ***Check out our other listing - Lower Rock Barn***
The barn is set in an estate with other barn conversions on a non working farm - you may spot a few sheep who are around to keep the grass down. The city of Hereford and the market towns of Ross on Wye, Ledbury and Newent are within easy driving distance and the near-by villages of Fownhope and Much Marcle have excellent country pubs. Although set in unspoilt countryside, the barn is approximately a 10 minute drive from the M50.

Situated on the Wye Valley Walk, these luxury pods are ideal for a romantic getaway for two, or keen ramblers and anglers. The Wye River is a short walk or drive away and the nearest shop is 1.5 miles away but accessible via countryside walks. Each pod has it's own private bathroom with a full size shower and cooking facilities. Currently there is no WiFi available but we are looking to change this as soon as possible.

This beautiful tipi is nestled away in our cider apple orchard. Come and let-go in the ultimate back-to-nature stay. You can relax in the countryside, take a walk down to our river (with pebble beach), enjoy fine local food at country pubs and then in the evening roast marshmallows on the fire and watch a film on our outdoor cinema. Great for a romantic weekend getaway or an adventure with the kids. Dogs are allowed, as long as they are kept under control. It's a working small dairy farm.
  • Wonderful stay, autumn has well and truly fallen but the tepee was so cosy and warm with many blankets, a little ‘wood burner’ *fake but fabulous and kept warm toasting marshmallows outside:) Projector is such a different idea! We snuggled up with hot chocolates after a hard day paddling on the river wye. Wish we could have stayed longer. Made friends with our camper next door - Hi George ! So shared some burgers and sausages and enjoyed sunset with our friendly cows in the field next door. Lovely, lovely stay, Greta to get outside and enjoy Mother Nature. Will be visiting again. Thank you Rich ! Laura & Toby

    Laura2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Rich - we loved our stay. The Tipi is amazing and the location was really tranquil. We had everything we needed and more. We especially loved using the projector to watch a film outside. Thank you.

  • We had a lovely stay at Rich’s tipis! The spaces were gorgeous and had some really lovely thoughtful touches in the tipis and surrounding area. Great amenities, we enjoyed a fantastic BBQ and played a game of rounders in the field. Great place to get back to nature and enjoy some quality time with loved ones. Would 100% recommend!

  • Great place, in a good location, would thoroughly recommend with lots of added touches such as open-air cinema/marshmallows/hot chocolate.

    Libby2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • A really unique and special camping experience in a lovely location with great amenities on site. Well worth a visit.

    Anneliesa2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I loved everything about this place. Although I never met the host he was very quick, clear and friendly in his communications with me. Directions to the site were very clear. The place itself is wonderfully tranquil. The birds sang me to sleep. The place was clean, extremely well thought out, the shower block efficient if not snazzy. I didn't want snazzy, just something that was clean and that worked. Fantastic idea with the projector and video, although I didn't use it because my visit was only fleeting. You can hang a sheet between the trees and watch films in your own outdoor cinema, or against the canvas of your tent if it's chilly or wet outside. There was a simple gas fire to use for cooking which I used because it was so easy, but you can also build your own camp fire. I was on my own, and wish my family had been with me. It struck me as a perfect countryside getaway.

River View is a cosy cottage, full of original charm, dating back to the 1600s, but with all modern comforts, underfloor heating, woodburner, and pretty views over the Wye Valley. Recently refurbished to a high standard. Walks from the doorstep, along the Wye Valley Way or through woodland. We are between Fownhope and Mordiford. Loads of cosy pubs nearby. Ideally located for walking and relaxing. Herefordshire is unspoilt, undiscovered with no crowds! Follow us on Instagram @riverviewfownhope
All our guests have loved our cottage, as it's cosy and comfortable and well equipped. The views from the main bedroom and the garden are beautiful, and we frequently have spectacular sunsets. Downstairs is the entrance hall, bathroom, kitchen/diner, living room and single bedroom. The upstairs main bedroom has its own balcony with views.
Fiddlers Green is a small hamlet between the villages of Fownhope and Mordiford, both of which are within 30 mins walk. There are pubs in both villages and a great little shop and a butcher's in Fownhope. We overlook the end of Lucksall campsite which also has a shop and bar/restaurant in season. This is a 5 minute walk.
  • River cottage is a lovely cosy warm and welcoming place. We loved our stay and had everything we needed on the doorstep, including lovely local pubs and stunning woodland walks. We had a warm welcome with tea, biscuits and local cider and logs for the fire provided. Justine was very friendly and helpful. A great stay, we hope to go back.

  • Riverview Cottage was Amazing. Beautiful Old cottage outside with a fresh modern kitchen and bathroom inside with the bedroom and living room areas being very beautiful and also traditional with the exposed beams and wood burner. We spent a week here exploring the local area and it was great. Underfloor heating was very effective at keeping the cottage cosy in the middle of winter. Nice touch of eggs, cider and bikkies on arrival. Parking easy. Little pub up the road, the 'New Inn', did a Great reasonably priced meal, and we found we had a nice hostess at the pub as well as at the cottage! Could not fault this place, highly recommended.

    Jon2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage, a lovely stay. We extended from three days to a week it was so nice.

    Jon2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This looked like the perfect place for a quiet break over new year, and so it proved. The woodburner and underfloor heating make for a lovely cosy feel and the prosecco and cookies were a welcoming touch. Everything about the cottage has been carefully thought out, from the well-equipped kitchen / diner with views over the Wye valley to the comfortable bedrooms and living room. It would be great to visit in the summer when the balcony and barbecue would come into their own. We enjoyed walking into Fownhope for a pub lunch at the New Inn - good gluten-free choices, and good beer - and we bought some very good value steaks at the butcher for our New Year's Eve feast. 🙂

    Paul2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly renovated cottage with great attention to details (the cookies- a very tasty, warm welcome). The hosts are very kind and helpful too. (We found a great pub with very tasty food in the village which was a bonus - the green man) We would definitely recommend staying there, our little family of three had a really relaxed time there

  • A lovely , very old and beautifully restored cottage which is very comfortable and has great charm. The view from the back is sublime. We also loved the balcony, the underfloor hearing and the amazing powershower! Even though she has a dog it's not overly present. The location is relatively far from the Hereford but if you have a car there is no reason why not to stay with Helen.

This former railway station in Ballingham, Herefordshire is now a detached house, tucked away in a large one acre plot, allowing guests to enjoy a private and peaceful setting.
A very private detached cottage converted from the old Ballingham Station. Situated within a 1.25 acre plot, with pretty, enclosed gardens formed on and below the old platform, enhanced by a separate meadow area which overlooks fields down towards the River Wye. A patio and BBQ area offers a lovely place to sit and enjoy the gardens. The driveway leads to a large parking and turning area . There is a large living room with a wood burner, Smart TV and DVD player. Station House also now has the benefit of fibre broadband. The kitchen/dining room is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge, with a separate utility room containing a freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Three bedrooms (1 en-suite) each with a double bed provides accommodation for 5/6 guests. Firewood is provided free of charge.
The property is situated on its own in a beautiful rural area but just a short walk to the pub/restaurant The Cottage of Content, Carey. There is no light pollution so a great place to view the stars on a clear night.
  • We had an amazing stay! The scenery was beautiful. The house was fully equipped, they thought of everything. There is a lot to do in the area and it was nice and tranquil. Thanks Elaine for everything!

Super peaceful, lovely furnishings and a sweet touch with a welcome pack. Exceeded our expectations! Highly recommended. Thankyou for a fantastic stay.

  • A peaceful and remote property offering you the chance to relax. This is the second time staying in this wonderful property, me and Marie are already planning another return trip for next year. When we arrived Elaine greeted us and the house was lovely and cosy, we couldn’t fault the station house and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

    Rachel2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really cosy and very well kept cottage in a unique setting. Elaine was very helpful in providing an alternative route to the house to avoid nearby flooding and had the heating on and fire going for our arrival - very appreciated in the cold and wet! We were only at Station House for a couple of nights but would definitely stay again, hopefully for a bit longer next time.

  • Our stay with Esther was absolutely brilliant. Living in the big city, you appreciate the quiet live of the country side so much more when you wake up to birds singing, cows grazing and children playing outside. The place was way better than any picture can capture. I enjoyed the river wye the most as it was very tranquil to go kayaking on. I will definitely visit again. There is so much more I want to explore in the area and Esther's place felt like home. I would not want to stay anywhere else.

  • This is a smart studio flat on a secluded farm with lovely views out over the farm yard towards the beautiful surrounding countryside. The kitchen is well equipped and the bath is great for relaxing after a days walking or cycling. The local pub, about 15 minutes walk, does fantastic food ( closed on Mondays) and there are numerous other places to eat a short drive away.

  • Totally lovely place to find oneself. On the River Wye and surrounded by beautiful countryside within the confines of a working farm. Really private space with outside patio to use and nicely kitted out flat. Really enjoyed walking down to Cottage of Content and waking to the sounds of geese.

*This listing is joining my 2 properties together to offer 2 groups of 4 looking for accommodation together.* In 2012 the Barns were beautifully converted into a modern functional spaces with luxury bathrooms, while retaining the character of the original dairy with vaulted ceilings and stone walls. Being located in the Wye Valley, this is an ideal place for those wishing to walk, cycle, canoe or just explore the hidden gems of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This listing offers the combination of my 2 listings Little Rock Barn and Lower Rock Barn - I have joined them together so that they appear for groups of 4-8ppl looking for accommodation together. Please note the barns have separate entrances and do not have a joining door so not suitable for one family without parent supervision in each at night. There are two bedrooms in each barn, 1 double and 1 twin. There are bathrooms in each barn but Lower Rock has an addition en-suite in the main bedroom. There are two fully equipped kitchens. The open plan layout creates a light and airy space. Under floor heating throughout and a lovely wood burner offers a cosy atmosphere. The barns have ample space for parking and a large garden with patio area. From the front door and garden there is a stunning view of the Wye Valley and surrounding countryside. We can provide a travel cot on request. Please ask us about any other requirements you may have.
  • The is a beautiful place to stay. We were a group of colleagues having meetings locally. This was a perfect location with great facilities and a good size communal area for us to socialise cook and eat together. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated in keeping with the building and the views outside even through the rain were stunning. Cant wait for the next meeting and stay here. Thanks Claire

  • We booked both Lower Rock and Little Rock barns for a group of 6 adults and 2 children. Both barns are very spacious, (very) clean and built to high spec with all modern facilities. There is one bathroom in Little Rock and two in Lower Rock making is ideal for big families. However, there is no connection in between both barns so not ideals if more children are in the group. We arrived little late in the evening and it was dark so missed the main gate as gps usually takes you further but Claire helped us to navigate back to the barn. The host provided us with bread, milk and egg etc which was a very warm gesture as sometimes people do forget to get those items. We felt like a home away from home. Perfect place to detox yourself from city life. It’s a shame that we came in winter so couldn’t enjoy outer space but would love to come here again in summer. We went to country side pub called The Moody Cow for lunch which I would highly recommend. Nearby town of Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye are quite nice to visit. It was a memorable stay for us. Thanks to Claire and her family.

    Rinkle2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly excellent stay here, and would recommend to anyone looking for a short break away. The Barns are very well decorated and have incredible views of the English countryside. Claire has provided every amenity you could want, and we found the barns very child friendly.

  • Great place. Well equipped with all you'll need. Very clean. If you're lucky with the weather, it was simply great sitting outside as a group of friends talking and catching up over a glass or two as the sun set. Recommend it if you like tranquility and great countryside.

    Hilary2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We hired both barns as a group of 6 adults and one baby and had a lovely stay. The barns are very spacious, clean and have everything you need for a perfect holiday. The location was great for us visiting friends in Ross-on-Wye and as we were out in the sticks it was great to not hear any cars! We will be back!

    Emily2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • As a group of 5 adults & 2 toddlers both properties rented. Lower Rock slightly larger with ensuite bathroom in main bedroom. Both spacious with ample private outdoor space for children to play. Highly recommended.

There's room for 5 people in the tipi. There's a large king sized bed, with 3 singles. There's a heater and plenty of blankets to ensure your stay is warm and comfortable. There is a toilet and shower block where you can take warm showers. There's also tea and coffee amenities
  • Loved it here, great for the dogs and people. Thanks again.

Took a shower in the outside shower the next morning and it was really pleasant! An unique experience for the adventurous! Be sure to bring wood or charcoal if you want a fire-we neglected to do this.

  • These tents are fantastic! We went as a group of 3 adults so had a bedroom each. Everything had been thought about carefully in the tent and lots of nice touches (electric blankets in 2 of the bedrooms, well-stocked kitchen, USB charging points). At the end of october it was a bit chilly, but the fire soon warms the tent up no problem. The hot tub is amazing! We also liked how the 3 tents are nicely spaced out and not cramped together. Would highly recommend!

  • Amazing place, Beautiful scenery, quite, clean, amazing big tents. Steph and her family were lovely, she was kind and brought down a electric heater for the kids as they were a little bit chilly the first night. Hot tub on the balcony, just amazing. plenty of wood and planks all cut up ready for the fire. There is a river just 5minuts walk away which I really really recommend. Overall its like a piece of heaven. Definitely recommend. Will definitely be back. Thanks

Steph was a fantastic host and everything you need is provided from shampoo to cooking utensils and even homemade apple juice from their farm. The private hot tub was really relaxing. • Andrews place is a very warm and cosy home in a lovely little village. The home and surrounding area is very quiet and beautiful, perfect for our family retreat. On our last night we went for dinner in the pub next door where Andrews family member was working in the kitchen, she was very welcoming and even looked after my brothers grumpy baby while they ate, you can’t really get more accommodating and thoughtful hosts than that! I can’t recommend staying at Andrews place enough and we’re already planning another stay.

    Craig2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was an absolute treat! Pictures don't do it justice, was much bigger than expected. Very spacious for our group of 8 and had everything we needed. Surrounding area is beautiful as is the lawn out the back. Loving big bedrooms and really comfy beds, everything spotless, immediate communication couldn't fault it. Thanks so much!

  • The Walnut Tree House is a perfect place for a group countryside retreat! It is well-located in the centre of the village, next door to the New Inn pub, offering good pub grub at reasonable prices. Fabulous for country walks in the Wye Valley. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bedrooms and lounge spaces were spacious and homely. Andrew was helpful and quick to respond before and during our stay. We loved it!

    Sarah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Walnut Tree House is ideal for a large mixed group and has beautiful views across open countryside. Within walking distance are a couple of pubs, a village shop and a children's playground. The house is well equipped and the beds are particularly comfortable. Recommended!

    Martin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We really had a great family Christmas at this house - the living room and kitchen were perfect for us to just hang out and do a variety of things while all being in the same space and enjoying each other’s company. We had 10 people for Christmas lunch and it wasn’t too crowded. Andrew the host was very communicative and helpful with all kinds of things. I would definitely recommend this place for any group holiday.

    Andrew2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely house that is well appointed with everything that you could need. The hosts directions are easy to follow and it is a great place to relax. We had 4 grandchildren in our party and they really enjoyed being here. Local playground/playing field just a short stroll from the back garden. The adjacent pub (yes, really is next door) offered a warm, child friendly welcome and catered well for us for an evening meal. Andrew describes it as good ales and heavy food. He's right on both counts, although the food is also excellent value for money. We would not hesitate to return here in future. A very successful weekend away

    Bob2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew’s place is just brilliant, clean and smelt really nice. The bedding and towels are crisp and so fresh, nice little touch was that each bed had towels and bath/shower gel great presentation, made us feel so welcome. The layout of the property is fantastic for a large group/family also the area is beautiful for strolls and walks. Would also like to thank Andrew as he is a superb communicator the description of the property is exact and access is so easy.

Sitting within its own grounds, with its own driveway, Sharpnage House affords a good degree of privacy yet is close to the owner's other holiday home, Little Canwood (sleeping up to eight guests), making both properties ideal for larger groups of up to eighteen if rented together. Whilst the house affords a peaceful position, it is conveniently located just a ten minute drive from Hereford's historic riverside city centre with its wonderful independent shops to browse and great selection of eating establishments. There are also two pubs (one is a gastro pub serving excellent food) within a half hour walk or a five minute drive, for those who want to avoid cooking or enjoy a local pint of ale!
  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Sharpnage House for a family get together. I cannot recommend this highly enough. The house is spacious, beautifully furnished and every well equipped. Every room was exceptional and made for a great weekend. The attention to detail showed with the very thoughtful welcome basket of essentials, mostly locally sourced. The location is great with extensive walks from the doorstep. Recommended without hesitation and would love to stay here again.

  • A beautifully presented, modern property, in an idyllic rural setting. The house offers all the mod cons you could want – a very up-market home from home. All the bed and bathroom linens are top quality, and lovely complimentary toiletries too. The whole house is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, inside and out. Can't say enough good things about the place. I would definitely stay here again. And I have to mention the most helpful property manager I have ever come across – Andrea. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a wonderful family holiday!

    Cathy2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Most amazing place - the photos don’t do it justice. We rented both houses for a big wedding party and it worked so well. Fabulous location beautiful and quiet. Big kitchen and living space with small snug for escaping the kids. Bedrooms all huge with gorgeous bathrooms. Outside seating and lounging areas, great bbq and the games room also included lots of kids toys which were much appreciated. One pub within walking distance and Hereford about 20 mins away. Andrea answers queries very quickly and came to settle us in. 100% recommended - the perfect stay! Thank you!

    Liz2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with plenty of space. 2 lovely pubs within a 30 minute walk. Communication from the host was brilliant. We are already planning our next trip back.

  • Our stay at Sharpnage house was amazing. It was beyond our expectations and exactly what we were looking for. The location is secluded in the country which provides a tranquil environment to relax. There is lots of space on the property itself for children to run around. The house is superbly laid out and Charmaine & Clive have thought of all the little details to make the house cozy, modern & practical. The kitchen has all the essentials required for cooking for a big group. There is plenty of entertainment provided. The Sonos speakers around the house was great. The games room is well equipped and provided good fun for everyone. There was good communication throughout and Andrea was friendly & helpful! Definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!

Alfords Mill is situated near the very quiet rural village of Woolhope in Herefordshire, with views of Much Marcle ridge and orchards. This area is well suited to walkers, cyclists and horse riders due to the many routes around country lanes, fields and woods. There are 2 popular pubs within walking distance (1 mile) or short drive in the village of Woolhope, Crown Inn and Butcher's Arms.
Alfords Mill is one of the oldest properties in the Herefordshire village of Woollhope and still has the original mill and cider press, although not in use. The small farm is set within 28 acres and there are many public footpaths and cycling routes nearby. The river Wye is only 4 miles down the road at Fownhope where there is access for canoes and kayaks. There is plenty of parking in the farm yard and garage (if required) and a heated room to dry bikes and gear. It would be possible to bring 1 or 2 horses (request details of stabling charges). Unsuitable for children under 8yrs due to materials and machinery around farmyard, risk of falling into the stream as well as the animals moving about.
Easy access from Ledbury, via Putley common or Much Marcle, from Ross & M50 via A449 and then B4224 or from Hereford via Mordiford and up through Haugh Woods.
  • A really wonderful stay, the barn is stunning and very well equipped with wonderful finishes. The bed is huge and incredibly comfortable and the shower is fabulous which is is rare when staying in the country. Some really nice touches that make a difference too like sky movies and a cafetière! Jacky made everything very easy and was available if we had a question but our stay still felt very private. Really lovely!

  • Stayed at Alford Mill for 2 nights and I have to say the pictures do not do it justice -it's beautiful!! A lot of thought has gone into the fibishing touches , we particularly liked the copper sink and the cistern which is very orignal. The hot tub is massive,it even has built in speakers with Bluetooth so that you can connect your phone up to it and it has a water feature. Very thoughtful touches left by the owner Jacky including a breakfast box with cereals, milk, bread butter and preserves. There were also plenty of towels for the hot tub and shower. Thanks Jacky we've had a lovely weekend :-)

In 2012 Lower Rock Barn was beautifully converted into a modern functional space with luxury bathrooms, while retaining the character of the original dairy with vaulted ceilings and stone walls.
The barn has ample space for parking and a large garden with patio area. From the front door and garden there is a stunning view of the Wye Valley and surrounding countryside. We can provide a travel cot on request. Please ask us about any other requirements you may have. ***Check out our other listing - Little Rock Barn***

Currently there is no WiFi available but we are looking to change this as soon as possible
  • Absolutely AMAZING- the little pod was truly amazing, we’ve stayed at a few different pods over time but I can honestly say this was the best one. Without going into personal details the host was extraordinarily accommodating. The pod was a lot more spacious than ones I’ve stayed at before- I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Everything is covered here it was a great little place to stay! Perfect little get away for a couple of friends. The bed was really comfy and deceptively big. Plenty of plugs and nice big shower room. Can’t rate the accommodation and host highly enough.

  • Definitely recommend this tranquil retreat, perfect for a romantic getaway! Sandy was a great host.

  • Me and my boyfriend came here for a little getaway for his birthday weekend, it was exactly what we needed and expected. The pod was very stylish and had everything we needed, super easy! The check in and out was very simple and the location was very easy to find, close by to quite a few pubs if you’re looking to eat out, eating in is just as easy with the handy microwave, hob and utensils! The location is very pretty and lovely to wake up to. When we arrived at our pod we were welcomed by a bottle of red wine and a celebratory card from the host which was a lovely gesture :)

  • Me and my boyfriend stayed in this pod for just a night. I was surprising my boyfriend with a weekend away and thought of this pod would be romantic for the both of us to get away from everything and have a relaxing time. We got this as soon as we arrived at this pod, we felt so comfy here. The site is pretty with W little orchard with 5 other pods. The pod inside was so warming and cute! It’s not far from shops and restaurants and we went to Ross on Wyre for a lovely evening meal, and it was great knowing that we were going back to a lovely bed when we got back. Would highly recommend this for anyone!!

    Grace2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, clean site, facilities were just what we needed, including a kitchenette with toaster and kettle, fridge and cooker, also our own shower and toilet. Plenty of places to explore nearby, friendly neighbours. Best of all, our dog loved it! Just wished we'd booked to stay for longer! Next time :)

  • Had a wonderful stay at Caplor. Really easy check in and check out process and great communication from Sandy ahead of and after our stay. The pod was very clean and far more spacious than anticipated with lots of amenities provided. Would definitely recommend!
