  • Such a great find! Daniel’s Bunkie is a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway – feels secluded despite being close to downtown. It’s perched right on the water and is totally peaceful. Great views, very comfortable (the space is exactly as advertised) and well equipped. Daniel obviously loves treating his guests well – the roaring fire, fresh fruit, chocolates and good coffee…it was all appreciated. He definitely deserves the Superhost status!

  • Daniel’s place is absolutely wonderful! The location is stunning ! We went up for a cold fall/winter getaway and spent the whole weekend indoors admiring the scenery around us , you really cant beat the location and the view of the lake and the trees. Daniel was an incredible host and very thoughtful to constantly go out of his way for his guests . Would highly recommend this spot , fantastic little romantic getaway in this cabin that provided you with everything that you needed . Looking forward to coming back again

  • Daniel’s place is so great! Super cozy for a fall stay and had everything we needed. We loved the outdoor shower and the views of the lake, and Daniel provided everything we needed for a great stay. He truly went above and beyond as a host and the place itself was everything we wanted. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Daniel was a great host! The bunkie was a nice space for two people and had everything we needed for a two night stay. The outdoor shower was also very cool!

  • Had an amazing stay. Great for some quality quiet time whether it be around the fire, on the fishing boat, or in the most comfortable bed I've ever in!

    Nathan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place in the woods. Daniel was a kind host who went out of his way to make sure that we had everything that we needed. We had a lot of fun. This space is perfect for a friends getaway, or a cute couple getaway.

    MegAndy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The weather was overcast and cool but my bunkie was perfect. Well appointed, to even being luxurious; great bed, down duvet, chocolate mints at my bedstand and fresh fruit on the kitchen table (felt pampered). Never stayed at a bunkie before but this place probably sets the bar for accommodations. Also very, very, clean which immediately makes you very comfortable. Would definitely recommend Daniel's bunkie.

  • What a special place for a few days to relax. It's a tiny Cottage but you will find everything that you need and more. The facilitys and opportunitys to have fun are endless. Swim in the warm lake. Paddle with the canoe, relax on the special terrace . There is a grill for BBQ and even when it rains you can watch DVD, play one of the nice board games or enjoy the view over the Lake. A useful tip: don't come with your sport vehicle. For the arrival your vehicle should be a bit suitable for off-road driving. With Mitchell's directions and a dodge grand caravan we had no problems to arrive. The hosts were very friendly, we would like to come again.

  • Perfect place for a weekend getaway or a longer stay. This place gives a new meaning to the word spotless (it was incredibly clean and welcoming). The cottage-y feel was wonderful and quaint and we loved eating our meals looking out at the forests. Highly recommend.

    Megn2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Chris responded to questions very quickly and answered them completely. The cottage had a rustic charm with almost everything that you would need. The heat and hot water was there when you needed it. The cottage was easy to get to and close to Parry Sound. It had a great view of the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

    Timothy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was awesome and the place was so much better/cozier looking than the pictures. Only downside was the fact that there was no wi-fi. However, you should drop your phones and enjoy the nature/coziness while you’re there.

    Berkem2020-02-12T00:00:00Z

    Seguin, ON, Canada

Built into a forested hill beside a river, with a sleeping loft and in-floor radiant heating in a granite flagstone floor, a kitchenette and a three piece washroom, the studio is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate or retreat into creative work.
Whispering River Studio Retreat is just 10 minutes from Parry Sound and located in a woods of old growth white pine, maple, oak and birch, on the banks of the Seguin River. In spring the scent of flowering crab and apple trees, wild roses, lilacs and pin cherries fill the air. Fall features gorgeous colour on the hills, and nearby hikes feature views of the rocks and cliffs that make this area famous throughout September, October, November and early December. Winter is beautiful too - the season of retreat and rejuvenation is filled with pristine vistas - and lots of snow for the dedicated snowshoe-er or cross country skier! Georgian Nordic X-country ski trails are only 15 minutes away, and can be used in the summer for hiking as well. If you want to enjoy a community Christmas, come and experience the many, many local activities centered around this warm and friendly time of year. You are welcome to relax in the loft, the house's screened in porch, or on the studio porch or the look out and enjoy the gentle whisper of the river, or the wind in the pines. A short walk by the river is beloved by most guests - especially in the mornings when the mist often streams of the water. There is a Heintzman upright grand piano in good condition the house that you are welcome to use. My baby grand in a nearby gallery is also available for rehearsals, workshops and concerts upon arrangement. During the summer the Festival of the Sound at the Stocky Center is home to an International Classical Music Festival. String Quartets, classical and contemporary concert music artists grace the stage, and provide unparalleled musical inspiration for people drawn from all over the world. I have a propane gas stove, washer and dryer, and will provide you with bedding. There is also a BBQ available for use if you want to cook outside. The Seguin River flows swiftly to Mountain Basin Lake - a short 15 minute paddle from the house. You can take trips in either direction. There is excellent canoeing ( although in late August and September the water is very low - but it is still well worth doing the two or three lift-over through shallows), hiking, cross- country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing and hunting nearby. Deer Run Golf Course, a beautiful informal course with a waterfall in its backyard, is just across the road.
Parry Sound is a thriving town. Boat tours, a major classical music festival, and a wide variety of summer and winter sports are centered here. Tours, hikes, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and water sports, and scenic drives are part of everyday activities for guests in this area. The rugged beauty of Georgian Bay is close at hand, and Canadian Shield country lakes and rivers are here to explore. There is Nordic skiing in the winter, and lots of great winter activities. It truly is a place for all seasons!
  • I spent three nights at the Whispering River working on a writing project. The space is tranquil, open, and inspiring and I was able to get some really great work done while there. During my breaks I went on walks along the river with my dog Humber and Brenda recommended some excellent trails/Provincial Parks nearby for some more long-distance mid-day walk. My dog Humber was equally pleased by those! Overall it was a great experience and lovely space and I definitely would recommend it to folks - and I hope to book again some time in the future.

  • Great place in a great location.

    Timothy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, Brenda is an amazing host as well. We came down from our apartment expecting a nice quiet time and even though we had some weather and car troubles, Brenda went out of her way to help us get to her location and get safely home. I’ve never experienced such top in class hospitality and I would recommend this place to anyone. Not just for the views but for the fact that you will experience an amazingly personalized time.

    Daniel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, peaceful setting. There are many things to do around the area (and Brenda can tell you about them all!) or you can just enjoy the quiet forest and watch the river flow. The Studio is a lovely space, and cozy in the winter. The heated floors are fantastic! Hopefully I can return another time and experience a different season.

    Erin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z

  • We needed a spot for 1 night between Toronto and Sault Saint Marie and this worked out great. The tourist boat in town - The Island Queen - was a nice way to see Perry Sound. We did the morning cruise but I think the afternoon might offer even better scenery. The place was clean which is what I always care most about.

Cozy renovated two bedroom cottage offering sandy beach, large deck and gorgeous sunset views. Relax on the dock while enjoying this tranquil secluded lake. Fridge, stove, BBQ, flat screen TV, DVD player and a variety of movies included.
Great swimming and fishing on the lake! Located between Huntsville and Bracebridge and close to all that Muskoka has to offer. A variety of public golf courses close by and plenty of restaurants and shopping. The cottage is situated far from the main roads in the village of Utterson but is only 20 km away from Huntsville which offers plenty of restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. Like most cottages the water is supplied by a well so we provide drinking water. The cottage has a well stocked kitchen with coffee maker and we supply sheets and towels!
  • Year three at Rose Lake and we are still in love. There is no place in Ontario that can beat Brad and David’s cabin at Rose Lake. There are always local treats awaiting arrival, a spotlessly clean cottage, and outdoor amenities that make the stay even more special. The beach is steps away from the cottage and the water is clear. Words cannot describe how truly beautiful it is there. Brad and David are the perfect hosts - always available and the friendliest, too! Our first night there we all had a beverage by the lake and great conversation while the kids ran to play at the beach. It was wonderful. We are counting the days down until our 2020 visit!

    Jen2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic vacation at Brad and Dave's place, 4th year going. The cottage is beautiful, the lake is gorgeous and the weather was awesome. I have nothing bad to say, the place is great and very comfortable for us! We look forward to coming back next year!

    Moe2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stop searching - visit Rose Lake, you will not be dissapointed. The cabin is beautiful and David and Brad are prettying the garden every year. We visited Rose Lake for the 3rd time now and we had incredible good times there. Clearly a wonderful spot for your family vacation in a quiet and pieceful area!

    Bernhard2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • There really is no better place to stay whilst in Muskoka. Rose Lake is quiet, serene, and the perfect place to spend time recuperating and relaxing. This past week was our second trip to Rose Lake and it will definitely not be our last - we are already planning our 2019 trip. David and Brad are amazing hosts and they really have thought of everything to make vacation special. The cottage is clean, stocked with linens, movies, games, and even some special local beverages to enjoy after a long drive up north. Don’t be on the fence with this Airbnb - book it before someone else beats you to it. Trust me.

    Jen2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot surrounded by nature, super well equipped cottage, communication with host was efficient, and will definitively be coming back to spend family time.

    Delfina M2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely lived up to its name with the charm factor! To those looking to stay on a peaceful lake in the Muskokas with all the amenities of home, this is the place. It was spotlessly cleaned and stocked with everything we could need. We especially enjoyed using the kayak and pedal boat to tour the lake. The location of the cottage is perfect; an equal distance from both the outdoor activites of Algonquin and the unique markets in Rosseau and Port Carling. We also appreciated the great collection of board games and DVDs for rainy days and late nights. David and Brad were great with communication if we had any questions. I would definitely recommend their cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

    Alyssa2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brad and Dave's cottage. The weather was fantastic, the cottage was clean with all the amenities and the location is superb. • Large, clean, stylish space in a quiet location with a very well equipped kitchen. Close proximity to nature walks, outdoor heated pool and basketball courts which we took advantage of. Janice is a very good communicator. The whole experience was great.

  • Excellent location. The host and the unit are amazing. Only a short walk to the lake and to the golf course. Very quiet environment during the day and evening. The unit is clean and well maintained... really enjoyed the screened in porch.

  • Janice is a great host. The communication was great, the amenities were great, and the cottage itself is beautiful. It’s a short walk to two lakes, a pool and a restaurant. There is a fire pit in the field next to the cottage. We had a great time!

  • Just finished a long weekend stay at Janice's Rocky Crest unit. The villa is beautifully furnished and it was spotless! It was a perfect amount of space for our entire group and our doggies. The resort is small but there are a lot of amenities available. The restaurants are a short walk away from the villas and the food was great. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends!

Come stay in our cozy historic 100 year old home in the Village of Rosseau. Newly renovated, modern comforts. Walking distance to everything, close to Public Beach, General Store and fine dining restaurant. Enjoy authentic Muskoka village life.
This cozy historic village home called "Hollyhock Cottage" was purchased by my wife's great grandparents in 1919. The Century old home has remained in the family and has been beautifully renovated to modern standards. It is our pleasure to share it with our guests. We offer a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has custom built cabinets crafted by Jennifer's uncle and gives it a comfortable country kitchen atmosphere. In front of the kitchen window is a breakfast corner table where you can relax over breakfast and morning coffee. The master bedrooms has a Queen sized bed with colour coordinated decor. Queen bed, and the second bedroom (with a twin bed), small bathroom, and a cozy living/dining room combination with a stone fireplace. We have still some days left in August. This is my favorite time of summer in the village with some wonderful activities and summer weather in full swing. Reserve your time while it is still available.
Rosseau definitely has Muskoka Village charm. From the Country General Store, Lake Rosseau Beach, Local Bakery with it's famous Butter Tarts and Friday's Farmers Market with many Artists and local vendors , including Live Entertainment . The village has something for everyone. A short walk from the house is the public beach (beach, playground, docks and boat launch), Marina, Farmer' Market on Fridays, and Sunday antique market. There are many shops in the village: Bakery, Craft Store, Flower shops, book store, and much more. Crossroads Restaurant offers fine dining, The Rosseau General Store . There is also a Nursing Station. Muskoka Woods Sports Resort and Rosseau Lake College are also close by.
  • This is a great spot that’s easy to get to located in a beautiful little village in the heart of Muskoka. An easy walk to a fabulous restaurant and close to the lake. What more could you ask for? Fresh and up-to-date, it’s a cosy space for a quiet getaway.

  • Had a perfect stay at Yogi and Jen's. The cottage is wonderful, very very comfortable, clean, cosy, excellent facilities eg fully equipped kitchen, big shower, board games, even slippers! Yogi and Jen go that bit extra to really make your stay special. The cottage is a 2 min walk to village of Rosseau (great restaurant at crossroads), 5 min walk to lake, 40 min drive to Arrowhead park where there are reasonably priced snow activities for all levels eg snow shoeing and nordic skiing etc (very easy and straightforward to rent gear). Highly recommend staying here, excellent value for money and no corners cut. Thank you both again!

This cottage is situated on 34 Acres of complete privacy only a short walk to downtown Parry Sound. The property amasses two lakes, one completely private. You can walk to Sobeys in 5 minutes. Or head on downtown to enjoy all the town has to offer. Close to beaches, summer sport rentals, biking and hiking trails and much much more.
Less than two hours drive north of Greater Toronto, Parry Sound is a popular getaway region offering plenty of outdoor activities. While snowmobiling, dogsledding and ice fishing are popular in the winter, the area is most visited in the summer, more than doubling the town's population. Overlooking the 30,000 Islands region of the Georgian Bay, Parry Sound is not only revered for its scenic beauty, but also for its water activities that include sailing, cruising, canoeing, kayaking and fishing for the sometimes huge musky. Even underwater the region has its its own remarkable assets. The local waters are a small graveyard of sunken ships, creating ideal scuba diving opportunities. Also popular is the Festival of the Sound, a series of classical voice and instrumental concerts, which occurs at the end of July. A popular region for centuries, Parry Sound has a rich history to explore that includes Ojibway Indian settlements and pioneer homesteads. This three bedroom cottage can accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. Two bedrooms have queen beds and the other bedroom has a king bed. All bedding is included, kitchen is fully equipped and there is a laundry room
  • Lorri's cottage was the perfect getaway! The cottage itself has everything you could need with the most comfortable beds and couches. The water front is gorgeous and very private. The location cannot be beat. The walk into town is about 5 minutes while the cottage itself feels like its in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend this cottage and are looking forward to returning.

    Emily2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this cottage retreat is excellent. It is nestled in a very private wooded property next to two lakes. The grounds are well kept. There is a small beach next to the dock on the north end of the larger lake. The cottage is very comfortable - beds are fantastic - and its location is close to (within 10 minutes) of a retail centre that offers Canadian Tire, Sobeys, Tim Hortons and Starbucks (amongst other convenient retail/services). The hosts (Lorri and Blair) were wonderful - easy to contact and promote to reply. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and attended to questions that came up. We are looking forward to attending there again next year.

    Frank2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is well appointed and the beds are extremely comfortable. The lake is wonderful, we kayaked, swam and truly enjoyed the privacy. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. Would go back!

  • We had an amazing time at the cottage! This is probably the best location in Parry sound. Very close to everything you need, town stores, etc. Also felt very peaceful and quiet on those 34 acres. A great place to kick back and relax. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Parry Sound.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Andrew's place with our family (2 adults and 3 young kids). The space was spotless with many extra towels, cloths, linens provided. We had a lovely time on our winter visit enjoying the nearby hot tub, skating on the frozen pond out back, tobogganing on a variety of nearby hills, and taking beautiful winter walks down to the lake. The kids loved the freedom of running around and enjoying nature that the winter season offers. We enjoyed coming inside to the hot fireplace and hot cup of cocoa. The kitchen is well equipped and up to date. It was lovely to come in and feel at home with all the supplies we needed on hand. We enjoyed the huge jacuzzi tub in the master ensuite. The reception office was courteous and available if we needed anything or had any questions. Andrew was always timely and thorough in his responses. All in all, we had a great winter family vacation at Andrew's place and we are so pleased with our choice to go there.

  • Andrew’s place provided my wife and I with the perfect winter getaway from the city. You will get that warm and cozy feeling from the minute you walk in. The master bedroom spans the entire third floor! With amenities such as a hot tub, sauna, pool table and owner’s lounge a short walk away, there is plenty to do at Rocky Crest in the winter. Parry Sound is 20 minutes away and we enjoyed a hike along Georgian Bay on the beautiful fitness trail. We will definitely be back!

  • Great place, especially for families with children that can utilize the beach to play and keep themselves busy, and give parents a break on the dock to read and relax. Cottage is spacious and clean, and added bunkee for overflow (bring sweats as it can get chilly). Easy check-in, and right off the highway. Close to various towns where you can explore, walk and eat. Large deck, big private beach area and a great dock to hang out and watch the planes from. Thanks for a great stay!

    Mike2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and Nate's place was a great cottage with a ton of space for our family. The private beach was just what we wanted for our young children and we enjoyed the easy access to the lake. Watching the planes land at the nearby airport and some right on the lake was an extra enjoyable experience for all of us. Quick and effective communication with the hosts was also a huge plus.

    Jeff2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great cottage close to everything in Muskoka. Great space for kids in the cottage itself ... it has a great layout for rainy days & outside the beach area is fantastic. Lots of things to do and see to keep the kids occupied but still have a relaxing vacation for the adults. Someone mentioned the noise from the small planes flying over the lake in the afternoons. ... we found the planes to be entertaining and the kids loved it. Thanks for a great vacation at your lovely cottage Emily & Nate!

    Mary2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage with a great location, and the beach and lake was perfect for our kids (9 and 10). Emily and Nate answers any questions quickly and the cottage has everything you could need.

    John2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and Nate’s place was awesome! There is a ton to do outside for all ages and lots of space. There was more room inside than expected, which was nice on our 1 rainy day. Would definitely return! Thanks for the great stay!

    Michelle2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Emily and Nate are terrific hosts. Their instructions and quick responses to any inquiries was appreciated. The cottage is very roomy and clean! The cottage is fully equipped with all necessary amenities and more (i.e. all kitchen supplies/utensils you could ever need and more). The beach front is a nice touch and a great area for kids to play. The property is large with much privacy. For clarification of the sleeping arrangements, the fourth bedroom is a bunkie that is detached from the main house approximately 50 ft away from the back of the home (away from the lakefront). The added water toys (paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat) were a nice feature! Planes land and take off on the lake occasionally which is neat to see although they are loud at times (only during the daytime). Lake Roberts is perfect for water sports (calm and runs about 15 ft deep in the middle) but if you are looking for more scenic boating or better fishing there are many boat launches nearby to bigger lakes such as Joseph or Horseshoe (5 min away). Overall we were very pleased with our stay and we would recommend #runwayfromthecity to others.

    Shawn2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay last week. Great location and the cottage is fantastic. Didn't think we would have as much luck as we did with fishing, but we caught a lot of large mouth bass. Lake isn't big but plenty big enough to fish, tube, water-ski etc. We would definitely book again!

Our place is close to Bala and Port Carling. You’ll love it! It's a big, one room, family cabin on a 6 acre forested property with a 40 sec. walk to our 1100 ft of shoreline on pristine Medora lake, with dock, canoe, great swimming and fishing. This place is good for couples or a family (with kids). A true Muskoka experience. The friendly and quiet owners who live next door have loved this incredible private property for 25 years and will ensure you have all the comforts you need.
  • Had a great weekend getaway at Jeff's cabin. Great escape from the city. It was beautiful, simple and relaxing.

    Sarah2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s property is beautiful and his hospitality is unmatched. We arrived later at night than expected and he was more than accommodating to our needs. The cabin was beautiful and had all the amenities one would need for a cozy weekend away. The cranberry marsh down the road is super charming and a local gem. We hope to be back soon!

    Daniel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Maja's cabin was a wonderful find in the Muskoka region. Right next to a beautiful lake and set in a very tranquil environment, it was a truly memorable escape. They were both wonderful hosts and were very helpful. Even with some rain in late October (which we expected) the surroundings were so beautiful and the cabin was really cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again sometime in the future.

    Prabath2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place sits on 6 acres of forest and lakefront. It was a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a beautiful boardwalk built through the forested area to lead you to the water. The cabin he built is also gorgeous. Very homey, log cabin feel. Everything we needed was there for us. His property is literally 3 minutes away from the cranberry marsh, where we stopped in to get some cranberry wine! Perfect if you like sweet wines. Jeff was very welcoming and kind. I'm sorry we did not chat more, he seems like he probably has a bunch of cool stories to share. Jeff's place is a definite recommend! 😊

  • Great little cottage, beautiful surroundings and location is perfect.

    Jeanette2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Maja were warm and lovely hosts. We hope to return in the summer for another stay! The Muskoka area is so overpriced and it was nice to stay somewhere for a reasonable price with down to earth people!

    Megan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s cabin was well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. I would highly recommend this property.

    Nancy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • You will enjoy this cabin in the woods. There are a variety of things to do on the property; the cabin is cozy and well-supplied, or take a walk to the lake where there is plenty of frontage to take in and enjoy the scenery. Be sure to sit around the great campfire pit at night and enjoy the stars and quiet surroundings.

    Elizabeth2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Doug & Christine's family cabin is exactly as advertised and a very comfortable place in any season for couples or a family. Loved the direct access to the lake for snowshoeing, the cabin was updated (kitchen/bath/floors) and yet still had a very homey feel and you can see the history. Read the cabin's story cover to cover and we loved the bathroom heated floors and the welcome basket. Note there are many trains coming through MacTier but you get used to it after a day.

    Andrea2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had an AMAZING stay at Doug & Christine's place. They were very helpful and accommodating hosts, and the place is beautifully kept and cozy. The pictures do not do it justice!

  • What an amazing getaway!!! We stayed here for an evening for my hubby’s Birthday and it was a slice of heaven in the wilderness. Everything was as described and Melanie and Dave did a great job of keeping in touch and making the process seamless. Very small space! But that’s the charm. We can’t wait to be back. Thank you again!! We will have memories to last a lifetime.

Enjoy 1200 sq ft of privacy in our custom log cabin, set at the base of a gorgeous rock face. Warmth and character cover every inch of this home, from the massive round logs to the ambiance of a wood stove, soaring cathedral ceiling, loft master bedroom & custom designed main floor bath (with heated slate tiles), and a large gourmet kitchen. All on the 90 acre Legacy Maple Farm. Explore our private trails by hiking, snowshoeing or snowmobiling. Located 15 minutes from Huntsville, Ontario.
Note from Bill & Carolyn: "In the interest of public health and safety, we have implemented the following protocols for our cabin: each booking is cushioned by several days of blocked time (no guests) when all surface contact areas will be sanitized. We are also using our cabin's air exchange system to replace the cabin air prior to, and after each booking. We have compiled a list of restaurants with take-out service in the area (and included any safety precautions they have implemented). Our 90 acre property is 15 minutes out of Huntsville, and surrounded by forest. As guests, you have access to our private hiking trails, so you don't have to leave the property to enjoy the outdoors. In short, we are committed to making your getaway a peaceful experience." Legacy Log Cabin is a secluded, get-away-from-the-hustle-of-the-city-kind-of-place. Enjoy 1200 square feet of private space for up to two people in a stunning log cabin, tucked in by a cliff face and surrounded by woods. Set back from a quiet, year-round and paved municipal road, it's located at the entrance of Legacy Maple Farm, a 90 acre single-forest producer of 100% pure maple syrup. The cabin is not a one-size-fits-all destination (having a maximum occupancy of two adults, for a 1200 sq ft cabin, is quite uncommon in the vacation rental market). Guest comments and reviews often contain the words peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Bill and Carolyn enjoy meeting guests at check-in and, whenever possible, saying good-bye at the end of the stay. They love sharing their little piece of paradise, and are committed to providing the perfect canvas for guests to create their own idea of a romantic get-away. When you first walk in, the massive hand-hewn round logs and cathedral ceiling create a dramatic, yet warm feeling, and the over-sized windows ensure an abundance of natural light, as well as great views. A spacious loft master bedroom features a statement-piece queen bed, triple-sheeted with luxurious high-end linens. You also have the choice of fluffy down or hypo-allergenic pillows and duvet/blankets. Under the loft, the large country kitchen, made of maple cabinetry, surrounding a centerpiece antique butcher block, is outfitted with all the appliances, tools, and basic pantry supplies necessary to satisfy both the 'throw together a meal' and 'gourmet foodie' types. The main floor bathroom has 'in-room control' heated slate flooring for use in cooler weather, and a generously-sized custom two person shower (with 2 shower heads). Outside, on the wrap-around deck, the barbecue area overlooks the maple syrup 'sugar house' and has a close-up view of the property's signature rock face. At the cabin there is a different flow to things. It is just far enough away from busy town life - a 15 minute drive, and more private than the cottage 'subdivisions' that line many of the lakes in the area. You can breath deeply here, enjoy a star-filled dark sky, listen to the hauntingly beautiful call of distant wolves late into the night, and watch deer from the front window. Why choose our Log Cabin over other vacation rentals? 1. 1200 sq ft of private space, built with over-sized logs, all for a two adult max occupancy 2. 90 acres of private forest trails to explore 3. Comprehensive 'Area Guide Book' created by Carolyn & Bill for guest use, and tailored towards couples (includes signature experiences and off-the-beaten-track 'local' recommendations) 3. High-end queen mattress covered in luxurious linens with a choice of down or down alternative pillows 4. Lots of personal storage (walk-in closet and dresser with deep drawers) 5. Fully appointed gourmet kitchen with antique butcher block island and new appliances (all kitchen linens supplied) 6. Wraparound deck with BBQ and custom-made 'log' swing 7. Custom-built large two-person shower (spa quality towels supplied) 8. Heated slate floor in bathroom 9. Cabin is accessed from a paved road with year-round municipal services 10. Close to Huntsville (but not too close) 11. Close to area beaches, trails, and boat launches 12. On property winter activities of snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing. Close to skating and downhill skiing venues 13. Very quiet nights with dark skies, perfect for stargazing 14. View of forest or rock cliffs from all windows 15. Immaculately clean 16. Fire pit nestled beneath stunning rock face 17. Cabin heated in winter by forced air furnace (so your comfort is ensured) 18. Air conditioner and ceiling fans with remotes for summer cooling - your choice, your control 19. Emergency back-up power system for energy security 20. Windows on all four sides of cabin open for cooling cross breezes in summer 21. Free WIFI 22. Tons of amenities including: * 'Smart' flat screen television (with Netflix) & blueray DVD player * Large selection of DVD movies and mini series for you to watch * Board games available (some are old cottage favourites) for guest use * 'Coffee Station in kitchen with auto-drip coffee maker, coffee grinder, french press, stove-top expresso maker * In the kitchen; herbs & spices, virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, coffee filters, variety of tea, and more * Day pack, insulated lunch box, freezer pack * Yoga mat * Snowshoes & poles available for guest use in winter (please arrange prior to your arrival) * First aid kit & sewing kit * Iron and ironing pad * Fire extinguishers Plus Much More!!!
Want to do your adventuring off property? The area is full of opportunities. In spring, summer, or fall, explore hundreds of kilometres of hiking trails, canoe or kayak on countless lakes and rivers, enjoy world class fishing, ride the mountain biking trails, go zip lining or rent a jet ski, to name a few. In winter, you may want to cross country or down hill ski, snowshoe, go on a snowmobile tour, try your hand at dog sledding, or really amp up the romance with an evening sleigh ride. You might want to go on one of the area’s historic boat tours, check out the trendy shops in Huntsville and surrounding communities, go antique shopping, attend one of the many local festivals, explore amazing local artisan shops, check out the Heritage Centre (for a pioneer experience), indulge in the food culture, enjoy the very active local music scene or watch a live theatre production. You will not be disappointed. let us know what your interests are, and we can help you plan your perfect getaway!
  • Such a wonderful cabin in Huntsville! Easy enough to find, not too far from town but far enough to feel secluded and peaceful! Carolyn, Bill and their doodle Maggie are great hosts! The cabin is very well designed and stocked with anything you would want for a vacation stay! The trails on the property are perfect to explore during the day. And having the opportunity to see the Maple syrup making process at the sugar shack was a nice bonus! Highly recommend staying at Carolyn, Bill and Maggie's cabin!

    Mike2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carolyn and Bill’s place was outstanding! The log cabin is stunning and the property is perfect for a relaxing retreat. We loved how quiet it is within the cabin and the natural views out the large windows. We appreciated that it was close enough to Huntsville to go check out the local shops and grab dinner in town. Carolyn and Bill went above and beyond with their hospitality and communication. Check-in was easy and we appreciated the quick low-down on how the amenities, especially the wood stove, operated. Would highly recommend to others and we hope to be back in the near future!

Whether you stay inside and relax by the fire, or go exploring on the trails we absolutely loved every moment of our stay! Highly recommend this property to anyone needing to relax, recharge and reconnect. Close enough to town and other activities, but private and quiet to get away from it all. The hospitality from Bill and Carolyn was outstanding!

  • I had thought only to stay just anywhere in order to save a long commute, but ended up having a lovely evening in a beautiful little suite - spotlessly clean, with all the amenities (including a full-sized fridge and a fireplace), and within walking distance of the town centre. The warm welcome from Rae and Mike made me feel right at home. Check-in was a breeze. I don't know what I enjoyed most - the evening walk and then gorging myself on Netflix after a long work day, or the excellent morning coffee made in-suite after a shower in the beautiful bathroom. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Our cottage is on Georgian Bay located 5 minutes north of Parry Sound. It is known as having "a million dollar view" of the bay. Enjoy the view or explore everything Parry Sound has to offer. This cottage is in a very quiet area and therefore it is not for loud partiers. The waterfront is rocky but the swimming is lovely. If you prefer sandy beaches there are 2 that are within a close drive. This cottage is comfortable for a couple or a small family.
The driveway is quite steep to drive in and out of. The grass at this time of year is not mowed due to all the rain we have had.
This is a quiet neighbourhood and therefore we do not want any loud parties during your stay.
  • Amy’s cottage is amazing! Cute and clean with all of the amenities we needed for our weekend away. It is located in a beautiful place, right on the shore of the Georgian Bay. Easy to find and just minutes off the highway. There were chairs on the wraparound porch, large windows to view the water from in the cottage, as well as chairs and a table and a fire pit right on the edge of the water. The water was calm and kayaking was a wonderful way to spend our time there. My husband caught a large rainbow trout fishing right off the shore, as well as many other species out in the bay. The sunset from the cottage was spectacular and I would love to visit Amy’s cottage again.

  • Amy went above and beyond and made sure we had an amazing time. She replied within minutes and answered all of our questions. She provided everything we could possibly need to make our stay as comfortable as possible including basic cooking supplies, dining utensils, paper towels, tissues, garbage bags, bed linens, pillows, a kayak, and paddle. The water may be cold for some but we really enjoyed swimming and using the kayak she provided during our stay. Except for the few steps into the cottage and down into the water, the entire cottage is quite accessible (the entire cottage is one level and the shower is a step in shower). One of our guests had accessibility needs so we definitely appreciated this! We definitely recommend staying here.

  • Without a doubt, THE BEST Air B&B experience I have ever had. The hosts are fantastic to deal with, quick to reply and are so genuinely concerned with the comfort of your stay. I didn't want to leave! The 5th wheel accommodation was bigger than some hotel rooms I have had. It was modern and sparkling clean. The extra touches that they included made a great visit even better - like fresh milk in the fridge for morning coffee, snacks inside the room, and a fire pit for my use to gaze at the stars on a clear Parry Sound evening. I watched TV on a big screen TV while reclining a beautiful leather couch. The hosts were engaging but at the same time, gave me privacy - a perfect balance. If you are thinking of booking this, do not hesitate as you will not be disappointed. I travel a lot for business and pleasure and say this from experience, you won't find better. Simply a joy to stay there and wished it could have been longer.

  • Michelle and her husband were very kind, very welcoming! My husband and I were looking for a quiet get away place for the weekend and Michelle's place was beyond perfect. Everything was in there if we were looking for something(including all kinds of bath utilities, and kitchen tools) and Michelle and her husband were always there for help when we needed. Great campfire place, close to downtown of Parry Sound, and many great trails near! Definitely our place to go back for next year's camping. Thank you so much Michelle! Loved everything there :)

  • Our family of 4 loved this spot! We broke up our long drive to Killarney and stayed just for 1 night, and we will book again! Michelle and Brad are fantastic hosts, getting a fire started for us after we got settled in and leaving little touches in the trailer such as water bottles and snacks. The beds are super comfortable and the sheets were so soft! The trailer is in a very convenient location just off the highway, a short drive from Tim's, McD's, etc. Thank you!!!

  • Brad and Michelle were very gracious and accommodating hosts. Great clear communication before we arrived and even notified us of a highway closure en route to their place. 10/10 would recommend!

  • Caine’s cottage was nothing short of what was advertised. It was warm, cozy and an excellent location. Caine was also a great host and responded quickly to any questions I had regarding the space. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a northern get away.
