Stayed at this beautiful place wonderfully located right between Canmore and Banff super easy to navigate to and from with beautiful views as you wake up go sit on the balcony with your cup of coffee. Very peaceful atmosphere all around. The place was easy to check into before arrival had the code to get in walking in you can tell it’s been taken care of with lots of love. "La Sierra" - At Summit GR - Penthouse 1539 sqft!
This was such a great stay for our family of 5. As an Airbnb host, I really appreciated the extra touches - coffee, drinking water filter, in-unit laundry with supplies. The unit is spacious, clean, with everything you might need. 2 underground, secure parking spots are provided. Beds and pillows are comfortable, kids loved the slide and pool. Checkout was easy. Location in Canmore was super convenient for our activities, plus we really enjoyed the town for easy dining and avoiding crowds. It’s a quick drive to Banff which was super busy, so glad we found this place. Michael is a great host. Don’t hesitate to book. We plan to come back in the summer!

This place has all the basics. The biggest pro for me was the view out of the master bedroom of Three Sisters mountains and how walkable it is. We easily walked from this place to downtown and back.

Grey Owl’s Nest: Your Rocky Mountain Escape
We had a great time at Robert’s place in Canmore. Awesome location, it was quiet, clean, and well stoked with thoughtful amenities to make the stay that much better. We had an issue with the hearing and Robert responded to a text immediately, and came over that evening to sort it out. Would love to stay again!!

Cozy Rockies Stay | Hot Tub | BBQ | Ground Floor
The place was perfect for what we were looking for; a base to explore the Bow River valley. It was clean, well equipped and very quiet. Evelyn was a great host! She was helpful, quick to respond and her sign in process was seamless!! Cheers!

Fully renovated & modern, 2 bed 2 bath, sleeps 6
We loved our stay! Lots of room and comfy beds. Kitchen had everything we needed. Really nice having two bathrooms too. The resort complex was really good too. We had a lot of fun in the indoor/outdoor hot tub, and we had several great meals at the restaurant. There are a number of restaurants in walking distance from the resort.

Mountain View Escape | Sleeps 6 | Hot Tub & Pool
Tina and Steve’s condo is beautiful. They accommodated me last minute and their place was ideal. The deck has a partial view of the mountains and was nice to stretch and have coffee in the morning. Just know that the elevator is being worked on so there are 2 flights of stairs to go up with luggage. Well worth it.

Your guide to Banff
All About Banff
There are two Banffs — summer Banff and winter Banff — and both are equally spectacular. Built as a resort town in the 1880s in the middle of Banff National Park, this picturesque western village, ringed by mountains, is the ideal base for a Canadian Rockies adventure.
In summer, hikers wander up Tunnel Mountain for a few hours or head deep into the backcountry for days. Canoes skate across the spectacular blue-green Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, whose waters are fed by glacier. Biking, mountain climbing, golfing, and outdoor sports may be the main draw, but they aren’t the only activities to enjoy: The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity hosts concerts and plays, and the Whyte Museum brings together art and local history. When snow covers the mountains and valleys, Banff becomes a ski and snowboard town, with three resorts nearby. A snowshoe stroll around one of the lakes may bring you close to native flora and fauna.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Banff
You’ll want to wear active clothes for an activity-rich destination, but keep each season’s demands in mind. Summer lasts from June through September and peaks in July, when daytime temperatures regularly hit the 70s and 80s Fahrenheit. Remember: You’re high in the Rockies, so keep sweaters and light jackets on you to protect against the evening chill.
From January through March, Banff is covered in snow and ice — temperatures can easily plummet below zero Fahrenheit. The cold is dry, too, so be prepared with plenty of heavy layers and warm boots with good treads. In spring and fall, the temperature varies wildly, so pack for a wide range of conditions and check the local forecasts before you go.
Top things to do in Banff
Banff Gondola
It takes eight minutes for the Banff Gondola aerial lift to sweep up the tree-covered slope of Sulphur Mountain to the upper platform, at an altitude of 7,500 feet, where mountain peaks stretch to the horizon. Cafes and restaurants allow you to linger at the heights, or if you prefer to stay outdoors, take a short hike along the ridge or gather around a fire pit in winter.
Upper Hot Springs
Geothermal hot springs emerging out of a massive fault in Sulphur Mountain brought visitors to Banff for the water cure in the late 19th century, and this outdoor pool, which averages 100 degrees Fahrenheit in winter and summer, continues to instill restorative bliss. (Bring a swimsuit, or rent one.)
Lake Louise
This gorgeous lake is almost as big a draw as Banff — even the spectacular 35-mile drive between the two cities is a must-do. The turquoise lake is cradled by a host of peaks. You can kayak or canoe in its glacial waters, hike up the domed Beehive mountains, or meander around the town of Lake Louise.
