Cabin vacation rentals in Ruby Lake

My family of four stayed at Nyna's to attend a wedding over the Labour Day long weekend and enjoy some relaxation time at Rathtrevor Beach. The cabin had an absolutely perfect location for our purposes. It is an easy 20-minute walk to the beach, but we also drove to Rathtrevor whenever the kids insisted on bringing an excessive number of toys to play in the sand. The cabin itself was exactly as described and pictured. We were not entirely sure of our check-in time due to needing to pick up supplies on our way to the cabin, but Nyna still stuck around to welcome us in person upon our arrival and give us a personal tour of the place. She was an extremely responsive and helpful host. We would highly recommend her place to anyone wishing to stay in the area. Thank you, Nyna!

What a lovely stay! The accomodations were very clean and well appointed, and I loved all the windows! The farm animals were delightful, the goats would greet me every time I went outside (waiting for carrots of course!). Lots of sun for most of the day, it was so nice to sit outside on the deck in the sunshine watching the animals. And the hottub was very relaxing and private. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

Judy’s cabin was a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and great location. It was spacious for our family. It’s right across from the pool/gym, a short walk to mini golf and the beach. Judy was very attentive and responded quickly to messages. Thank you Judy! We look forward to staying again 😊

Gayle and Lee were amazing hosts!! We were greeted by the hosts at check-in and they had already set-up for us the woodstove fire place. The room was immaculate, with a comfortable bed and spotless floors. What really stood out to us was all of the personal touches from the freshly baked sourdough bread with butter and jam to a folder full of recommendations to build your own personalized itinerary. Unfortunately on the night of check-in my partner got the stomach flu. We informed the hosts and they leaped into action to help us in every way possible. They provided us with medication and disinfection to prevent myself from getting sick as well. They also graciously offered us an extra complimentary night for my partner to rest. We can't wait to come back!!

We had a great time at Paul's place, private and peaceful. Watched the stars from the hot tub and sunset from divers rock (quick walk). The snorkeling around divers rock is fantastic at low tide, provided the ocean chill doesn't take you out too fast! The yurt was a really neat experience, well insulated and quiet. Would definitely stay again!

We loved our stay at Willo's Woodsy Dream Cabin in Madeira Park. Its exactly what you would want a cabin in the woods to be, it was old and rustic but didn't seem outdated at all. All appliances were functioning and beds were comfy. There are a few neighbours within close proximity but it still felt very private. There were a couple little restaurants and a grocery/liquor store is nearby. 15mins to walk, or faster to drive of course. The hot tub was fantastic. Would definitely stay again!

spent two nights here - douglas place was very serene. quiet and peaceful. the beach is about 40 mins walk through the forest. make sure you book the hot tub was well worth it :) douglas and kate are stellar hosts - super responsive friendly but also knows to give you space to relax. great spirits thank you - we will be back for that future sauna ;)

Wanda was an amazing host with one of the most beautiful and well kept properties we have seen. She was unbelievably accommodating and had the most lovely energy. We really enjoyed how spacious the cottage was, as well as all of the amenities — such as the well stocked kitchen and the thoughtful touches placed throughout the house. The gardens were extremely beautiful and she provided a propane tank for us when we decided to use the grill. We felt very welcome and loved the company of her dog dusty as well 💕 we would absolutely return for a serene getaway again!

We had such a lovely stay at Raquel’s place! Raquel was super responsive and easy to communicate with—she gave us lots of helpful info about the area, and when we ran out of pancake mix, she even brought us a new bag (so thoughtful!). The place itself is really cute and peaceful, with cows nearby and a sweet big black cat we got to meet. It’s in a great location too—right off the main road and just a minute away from a cider place we really enjoyed. The room was spotless and well equipped. We appreciated the selection of teas, the automatic coffee machine, and even dog biscuits—it’s clear a lot of care goes into making guests feel welcome. There were a few harmless ants here and there, but honestly nothing to complain about. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

Brian and Shannon are some of the best hosts I've ever met. They have exceptional hospitality, are super cool and are realizing such a stunning vision of their property. Hosting a pizza night was an unexpected treat and got to meet other guests. It is a slice of heaven. From the sauna and cold plunge to the hot tub and fire pit and bbq to the wonderful setting nestled in trees this place exceeded expectations. I biked from Vancouver with the Sunshine Coast connector for one cheat leg. It's not that hard to get to and loved having my bike to explore. Go to Emily's lake for a trail run. Also as a solo female traveller I felt very safe. Recommend and hope to be back.

Great place to stay for outdoor bouldering at the Chief! The host was very helpful and responsive.

We absolutely loved our stay at this cute cabin. What a special spot! We enjoyed exploring the inlet with the canoe provided and exploring some of the local hikes. Be sure to try to the local Mexican Restaurant. We loved the seclusion and quiet this cabin provided with easy access to any groceries or other amenities we might need.

Absolutely lovely little gem. The A-frame was a perfect cozy place to stay. Alejandro was a great host and got me set up quickly. A cute little farm with chickens, goats and ducks! I can’t wait for my next stay!

A great place to enjoy the coast for a weekend! Brett has done a superb job making the cabin cozy & welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook at home while staying here. The cabin is close to Sechelt for all amenities. We will be back in the summer!

Neo & Sky's place is a great small oasis in the Forrest, with lots of love for small details and cozy cabins. We had a great stay! The open kitchen concept and showers give it a natural touch, though I guess when it gets colder it could be more inconvenient. hence, perfect place for the summer months!

April 2025 Just spent 3 nights at the Cozy Cabin and it was amazing. So clean and tidy, peaceful and lovely location with easy walking access into Nancys Bakery, the Gallery and the Boardwalk restaurant. This truly is a gem to stay at. It was a pleasure talking to Simone as she gave lots of great advice for biking and restaurants.

If I could give this place and the host 10 stars I would! Even before check in, it was a positive experience. The property and view alone is worth the price. The beds were comfortable, the host goes above and beyond making sure you have everything you need and if you need any help at all she is there. A very friendly, positive, at home feeling. My mom and I were extremely comfortable staying for our weekend trip away. The wildlife was amazing to see! We loved sitting around the fire next to the ocean. I couldn’t believe how clean the place was, stocked with fresh linens and toilet paper if needed. The heated towel rack was a neat detail. You can tell this place has had a lot of love and care put into it. Tons of places to charge whatever you may need, wood stove was wonderful in the unit. We had all the amenities and utilities needed in order to cook great meals! Even stocked nicely with spices, oils, foil, etc. This is my new fav spot and we will be back many times. Thank you so much!

Patti & Corrine’s place was exactly what we were looking for. You have a wonderful view of the ocean through the trees. Though there are other houses around you, it felt very private. There cottage is surrounded by trees & open grass to walk around. Waking up & ending the day to the sounds of birds was beautiful. We even saw a fawn on the property. They do have two cats which we only saw once & they were very friendly. The beach is a 2 min walk down a quiet street. The cottage itself is my dream home. It’s simple but homey. We loved the personal decor & book selections about the area & wildlife. We slept with the windows open to let in the cool ocean air. In the mornings I stood in the living room watching the sunrise through the giant window. I could have moved into their cottage if it was allowed. It was perfect. Patti was also wonderful at giving suggestions of things to do & explaining the ins & outs of the cottage. I highly recommend staying here! You won’t regret it!

This log cabin was amazing!!! We were shocked at how beautiful the cabin itself and the surrounding area was. Margaret was an incredible host— she was so kind and provided lots of blankets and coffee and snacks and wood for the fire place which was a nice treat. The cabin was super cozy and clean and had everything we needed. The bathroom and kitchen specifically were stocked which was very useful because we were coming from out of town without many things. The property was beautiful and we saw deer and lots of bunnies, and there are dozens of trails to check out within walking distance. Some of the prettiest sceneries I’ve ever seen!! Would definitely recommend this cabin, it was a lot nicer than it even looks in the photos :)

Had a lovely time on Savary- it’s a rustic cabin, but has everything you need. Only note: it is technically beachfront, but there is no beach access on the property, it’s about 8 minute walk away. All together lovely.

We loved our stay. Would reccomend this place. Lot's of thought has gone into what they have made available to guests with a good focus on trying to minimise the environmental impact. We had everything we needed and more (in fact some things we brought which aren't typically provided were already in the house). Hosts were very responsive and nice to deal with. Would stay here again.

Fantastic cabin with beautiful waterfront view! As previous reviews said, it’s fully fenced which is great for peace of mind for the dog! The pathway down to the water is definitely quite steep and with the overgrowth we didn’t attempt the walk down, so ended up driving a few minutes up the road for water access. The view is the best part of this place for sure! We had a lovely stay :)
