Art quilts hang on every wall of this wing of a mid-century modern ranch on a quiet cul-de-sac in SE Urbana. The ensuite bathroom was renovated just a few years ago, with heated floors, a bio-bidet toilet seat, and large walk-in shower. My house is also home to two cats; there is a soundproof door to shut them out of the Quilt Suite, but the allergic should beware.
The space
Mid-century modern house built in 1956 on a quiet cul-de-sac. Half a mile from Meadowbrook Park (restored prairie, walking paths and trails), 2 miles from the University of Illinois.
Guest access
Guests may access the deck and garden. Guests enter via the garage for more privacy.
During your stay
I work at home and occupy my own wing on the opposite end of the house. I have enjoyed hosting guests over the last 2 years or so, and have made some upgrades based on that: now the Suite has a coffee maker, mini fridge, small dining table and chairs, and individually wrapped mini-soaps in the bathroom. You can enter and exit through the garage and never see me at all if you like privacy; or we can hang out in the dining room and chat. I have met some lovely people since embarking on this adventure, and hope to meet more.
Other things to note
I share my home with two cats, so if you are allergic beware.
Bed is Queen size.
If you like bicycling, I'm happy to suggest routes for great rides around the area.
