Nestled in the heart of Mérida’s historic city center — a vibrant, lively district full of surprises — you’ll find our beautiful Casa Loltún, a landmarked 19th-century colonial main house complemented by four additional apartments.
Casa Loltún is ideal for larger groups who want to spend time together while still enjoying their own private space. The property is particularly popular for family reunions, birthday groups, wedding guests, and friends meeting up to spend quality time together.
The landmarked colonial house, redesigned by renowned architect Xavier Salas and fully restored in 2023, harmoniously blends historical charm with modern architecture.
The two-story building features original colorful pasta tile floors, 6-meter-high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and elegant doors, offering accommodation for up to six guests in three air-conditioned double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.
Each room combines modern comfort with beautifully preserved colonial details, such as the beloved original pasta floors. The furniture is handcrafted by local artisans using fine Mexican woods like Tzalam (Mayan walnut) and Parota (burl wood), reflecting the careful and loving restoration that makes this house truly special.
The four newly built, cozy apartments, situated opposite the main house, echo the charm of the colonial era. Separated from the main house by a lush tropical garden with a refreshing pool, each apartment offers air conditioning as well as a large ceiling fan for those who prefer natural ventilation.
Each apartment also has a private kitchenette, providing full independence from the spacious communal dining kitchen in the main house.
Living Room and Dining Kitchen in the Main House
Relax in the comfortable living room on the first floor, featuring a cozy seating area and a large 55" 4K Ultra HD TV — perfect for family gatherings. As part of the original colonial structure, the living room boasts restored pasta floors, thick walls, and soaring ceilings with wooden beams.
Large ceiling fans provide a cooling breeze, just like in the old days.
The spacious dining kitchen features a central cooking island equipped with a four-zone induction stove, a large refrigerator with an ice compartment, and an ice cube maker to keep your drinks refreshingly cool. Additional appliances include a microwave, capsule coffee machine, toaster, and all the essential cookware and tableware.
Basics such as pepper, sugar, and salt are provided, and of course, wine glasses are not missing. A free drinking water dispenser is located near the entrance. The solid dining table seats six guests and is located right next to the living room, within the high-ceilinged colonial structure.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms in the Main House
Each of the three air-conditioned bedrooms on the second floor features a comfortable queen-size bed. For those who prefer, a ceiling fan in every bedroom offers a natural cooling option. A major advantage: each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom.
The master bedroom features a 55" 4K Ultra HD Samsung TV, a small workspace, and a cozy window bench overlooking the lush garden — perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or an evening book.
One bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements — it can be set up as either a double bed or two single beds as needed. A launderette is just a few houses away, and an iron and ironing board are available in the house.
The bathrooms, with polished pasta tiles inspired by historical designs, feature refreshing rain showers. A water softening system ensures gentle, soft water. Two showers have partially glazed ceilings, allowing natural light to filter in.
And you don’t have to worry about packing essentials — all bathrooms are stocked with hand towels, bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, and a hairdryer.
Additional Apartments
Built in 2023, the light-filled apartments enjoy natural illumination from two sides during the day and can be completely darkened at night with blackout curtains for a restful sleep in your queen-size bed.
The bathrooms, featuring polished pasta tiles in a historical design, include a refreshing rain shower with side glazing for a private outdoor view. A water softening system ensures pleasantly soft water. As in the main house, all bathrooms are equipped with hand towels, bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, and a hairdryer.
If you prefer a quiet evening, prepare a meal in your fully equipped kitchenette and enjoy it at the dining table for two. The kitchenette includes a two-zone induction stove, fridge, coffee machine, toaster, and all necessary cookware and tableware.
Basics like pepper, sugar, and salt are provided, along with wine glasses. For entertainment, a 43" 4K Ultra HD Samsung TV is positioned directly across from the bed, perfect for a cozy movie night.
Patio, Sun Deck, Pool, and Loungers
Casa Loltún’s tropical garden features an infinity pool and a spacious sun terrace with a large sunroof — an ideal setting for a relaxing breakfast in the morning sun or an evening glass of wine. Warm sunrays gently touch your skin, soft breezes cool you down, and comfortable sun loungers invite you to unwind.
The crystal-clear, sky-blue pool is filled with fresh groundwater from our own well and features a circulation system with filtration. Surrounded by high walls for total privacy, the garden features lush tropical plants, a refreshing pool, and a shaded sun deck — your own private oasis in Mérida.
Enjoy an additional covered terrace with comfortable seating areas and a large dining table for eight, located in front of the main house. For your convenience, there is also an extra bathroom accessible from the garden.
We’ve also taken our kids' requests into account: Additional Wi-Fi access points in the outdoor area ensure a stable connection at all times.

Access to the property is easy and convenient from the street, where you can also park for free and safely if needed. Not sure exactly when you’ll arrive? No problem. With our self-check-in system, you can check in flexibly at any time.
The entire property, including the garden area, infinity pool, and covered sun deck with seating and sun loungers, is exclusively yours. For added security, the property has a code-protected electronic entrance, so there’s no need to carry a key with you.

Mérida is one of the safest cities in the Americas, and your safety is a top priority for us as well. The property features a secluded inner courtyard and camera surveillance.
In addition, smoke detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit are on hand — so you can relax without worry. The main house also has a safe for your valuables.

Cleanliness is key. Before your arrival, the property is professionally cleaned, and fresh bed linen, towels, and bath towels are provided. If you’d like additional cleaning, fresh linens, or extra towels during your stay, you can book these at any time.

Behind the Scenes
Some time ago, we rented an Airbnb and didn’t even need to step inside to know we wouldn’t stay. The pictures looked amazing — but the house probably had, too... twenty years earlier when those pictures were taken. That won’t happen here. We take great care to ensure everything is in top condition.
It’s the little details that make the difference. Our water softening system ensures a pleasant water experience, the pool is filled with fresh groundwater from our own well and features a state-of-the-art filtration system, and additional Wi-Fi access points provide a strong signal even in the pool area.
And for a restful night’s sleep, our beds feature ultra-comfortable 30 cm-high mattresses. We’ve put a lot of heart and dedication into Casa Loltún, and we do everything we can to make you feel at home.
