Private, tasteful space in Beachwood Canyon on a road bordering Griffith Park. Quiet, rustic setting, great for walks and hikes (not far from park and trails access) yet, only 10 minutes from nightlife & attractions of Hollywood. Comfortable queen-size bed with good linens, basic kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, flat screen TV and a small private deck combine to offer a convenient studio for most needs.

The space
Guest studio is organized to address most needs for short stays. Offering sleeping, eating, light cooking, laundry and space to relax in a one room set up that manages to not feel cramped. Location is on a rustic canyon road in a peaceful neighborhood just minutes to many local attractions. Separation from the house grants ample privacy.

Guest access
The studio sits over our garage (used only occasionally for charging EV), and has its own entry, separate from the exterior stairway and main entrance to the house on ridge above. There is also a small deck accessed by the studio only.

Other things to note
The space is small but gracious. It is best suited to maximum 2 guests, but for additional nightly fee, an air mattress with linens can be provided. This set-up does impact some floor space in the studio. I have provided the additional accommodation numerous times, most frequently for a child traveling with parents. Also worth noting, young children are welcome but the windows on this second-story studio are very low to the floor and without window guards. There is also a short 5-step open stairway in the studio. Parking is on the street right opposite or within 100' of our house. There is almost always plenty of space right opposite the garage or house. On weekends and holidays (from 8:00AM-6:00PM), parking on Hollyridge Drive is allowed with permit only. We provide a guest permit for your car.

Neighborhood highlights

The neighborhood is hillside, Los Angeles canyon at its best. Walking around the winding streets and drives is very pleasant and access to a series of trails throughout the parkland hills makes Beachwood Canyon a treasure. Views from the city to the ocean abound on the hiking trails. There is little in the way of commercial enterprise in the immediate vicinity but the "village" does boast a charming cafe and small grocery store as well as dry cleaners (all in walking distance). A unique network of "secret" stairways joins some of the major canyon roads providing short cuts up and down the hills. The area is full of coyote, owls, deer, hawks and a multitude of other birds and canyon creatures. Meanwhile, with a five minute drive out of the immediate neighborhood, guests can enjoy all of the attractions of Hollywood and the surrounding neighborhoods of Los Feliz, Silverlake, and West Hollywood. It truly is the best of both worlds.
