This was my first experience with airbnb and it was perfect! We had an awesome weekend! Lisa is a great host and communicator; she made sure we had everything we needed. The house is just lovely and VERY clean. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Lisa's house was adorable and so conveniently located! I am originally from Brattleboro and still go there often (good food & coffee) but when I am here, I work in Walpole, NH. Lisa's house is right off 91 and Rt 5, making it 10-15 minutes to anywhere, which is wonderful!
The house is clean, comfortable and well appointed making for a very comfortable stay. I look forward to coming back in a few weeks!
I live in Brattleboro and reserved the depot for my family's visit to the area. It is by far the best place to stay, with it's comfortable, home-away-from-home feel exceeding the expectations of my brother and sister-in-law. Our time at the depot together was fantastic! This is a great place to experience New England with all its charm. The house not only matches the description on air bnb- it's better! Lisa is an amazing host, who helped us ensure we had everything we needed. I will definitely return as often as I can!
Just the best!!! We travel a lot and like and trust airbnb. The Train Depot in Putney was our best experience ever. We arrived on a cold, icy evening in the dark with snow on the ground. From the moment we opened the door to the Depot we felt totally cared for and happy there. From the basket of welcoming and comfy house slippers by the front door to the neatly stacked pile of firewood by the stove in the living room everything had been beautifully thought out for guests. The decor is cozy, warm and very tasteful, the furnishings, bed linens, towels are all lovely, and the kitchen is the best-equipped we have ever encountered. Oh.. and the bed is extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed the occasional passing train too.. it was exciting and evocative! Thank you for everything Lisa and we are really looking forward to coming back!!
I can't say enough great things about Lisa and the Cozy Train Depot. Lisa was such a pleasure - she was kind, easygoing, and very thoughtful. She texted me to make sure we arrived safely and was very flexible about our arrival and departure times. The house was wonderful as well. It was cute, cozy, and very comfortable. Lisa has thought of everything guests might need, from kindling for the fire to fresh bread, eggs, and milk.
Prior to our stay, I was a bit concerned about the trains going by, but it only happened a couple times and wasn't a bother at all.
We stayed at the house to ski at Mount Snow, and while it was about an hour away, the drive was easy and very beautiful.
I highly recommend staying here!
I visited The Depot with my girlfriend for a nice getaway from Boston and had a wonderful weekend. It was exactly as advertised and even better...quaint, extremely clean, very well decorated and cozy. The train came by twice a day and was actually a fun treat.
The kitchen was stocked with all sorts of kitchenware and we cooked a feast both nights.
Lisa was super friendly, extremely responsive (responded to my text within minutes when I asked for the WiFi password!) and professional.
We will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it to friends.
The depot was exactly as depicted in the photos. My girlfriend and I came down for a long Valentine's weekend and had an amazing time, sitting next to the wood stove, making use of the really functional kitchen, and relaxing in the comfortable bed. We rented nordic skis from the Westhill Shop (that's just down the street) and made use of the extensive trail system by the Putney School, and had a delicious dinner at the Gleanery in town. Mass MoCA was only an hour drive away! Highly recommend this place, and Lisa is a phenomenal communicator.
We visited in the dead of winter and the train depot was exactly as described...cozy! All the amenities and many more that we would never have thought of were on site. Lisa was out of town, but she had a caretaker make sure that everything was all set. When we arrived the walkways were shoveled, including the side porch with an outdoor fire pit. At first we were leery of the 3-4 times a day train schedule, but it's true. They ran through at very appropriate times and there were only a few each day. It actually adds to the experience as you can watch them rush by from the bay window and feel like you're standing on the tracks themselves. Very cool!
This was my first experience with AirBnB, and it was perfect. This historic home in Putney has been transformed into a cozy guest cottage. It is in perfect condition, decorated simply and with an artistic flair. Everything is high end, from the linens to the dishes in the huge eat-in kitchen. I loved watching a train go by out back, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful amenities in all rooms.
Communications were easy, and the house was beautifully prepared for us, including fresh bread, cheese, milk, and coffee, along with a fully stocked kitchen. The location is ideal: the Co-op is a short walk, and the river is right out back. Lisa always answered my queries. I highly recommend this home and look forward to coming back the next time we visit family in Vermont. Thank you for a fabulous Christmas in Vermont!
