The Red Barn is one of the most beloved stays on our farm and our most renowned 2-bedroom, 2-bath retreat. In 2022, it was handpicked by Airbnb and featured on a billboard in downtown San Francisco.

This unique barn stay is ideal for families, friends, or small groups looking for a peaceful countryside escape with unforgettable farm charm and wide-open views.

Nature notes
The barn is part of a real working farm, and that is part of its magic. Our chickens roam freely and may occasionally wander near or into the barn’s shared areas. Because of the rural setting, you may also occasionally notice frogs, bugs, or other small creatures. We do our best to keep the space clean and comfortable, and we’ve added door seals to help minimize critters entering the bedroom areas, though no farm stay can be completely bug-proof.

If you appreciate nature, animals, and authentic countryside living, The Red Barn offers a special experience you won’t find in a typical city stay.

Guest access
Guest have access to the Barn and all the open areas but don't have access to chicken coops, animal stalls and owner's villa including their pool.

Other things to note
While we make every effort to maintain cleanliness, expect to occasionally see chickens (yes, our chickens roam freely and sometimes visit the barn), chicken droppings, and some small creatures like frogs and bugs. We have placed seals and buckles to minimize these little creatures from entering the bedroom areas, but it's not 100%. Adjust your expectations and treat any unexpected encounters with these creatures as part of the natural experience.

Do not burn anything other than the wood and paper we provided to the heater. Anything else especially plastic is going to damage it and will cause a $500+ cleaning.

We are on a septic system, not a regular city sewer system, never throw anything other than toilet paper into the toilet.

No open fire or any source that might cause a fire. You are in a high fire danger place, don't get famous by causing a fire.

Neighborhood highlights

Our ranch & valley makes a lovely place to go for a walk, see many animals. We have horses, goats, cows, mini zebu's, chickens, cats & dogs currently on the ranch, but you never know what we might adopt next week :-)
