This lovely flower-filled courtyard home is located in Centro, just a short walk to the Jardin (main square), to the Instituto Allende, as well as many great restaurants, and several of the best language schools. There a king size bed and bath in the master bedroom- with a terrace right outside; and a separate single bed and bath downstairs which looks out into the courtyard. For your comfort, Casa Ramona has only the softest and finest quality sheets and towels.
There are several wonderful outdoor sitting areas filled with flowers and bougainvillea, and a lovely fountain in the courtyard, all to enjoy the beautiful San Miguel weather in. There is a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of San Miguel, the Parroquia, and the mountains beyond. On the roof along with a terrace with views of San Miguel, is a studio that has a high-speed Internet connection.
In addition to the high-speed Internet access & wifi, we have extended cable television -- with many English language news, sports and movie channels. A 5- CD stereo system. A telephone and answering machine is also available for your use. There is also a combination living area and dining room, with a fully-equipped kitchen. Plus, a maid comes 2 days a week to Casa Ramona to help keep the house clean during your visit.
The house is beautiful and very centric everything is 5 or 10 min away. Romney kept track of my reservation and emailed me. She wanted to know at what time my dad and I were arriving so Rosa could be there on time to greet us. The house is in very good conditions and clean, the kitchen as everything you need to cook. The only problem we had was with the front door. The key got stuck and I had to email Romney. She called me back right away and sent Rosa with a locksmith. Rosa arrived a few minutes after but the locksmith took a while.
This was just bad luck because we tried the keys before we left when Rosa was giving us a tour of the house. Romney always answered super fast and was a great host. Overall, we had a great time in Romney's house :) ! I will definitely recommend this place.
P.D. My dad is 65 and he stayed in the upstairs master bedroom. He had no problem climbing the stairs its not that difficult.
Thanks Rosanna, You and your Dad were great guests. Glad you enjoyed Casa Ramona and San Miguel. Sorry about the snafu with the lock. It has been changed and should never happen again. We try to take care of everything, but sometimes unexpected things happen. I appreciate your understanding.
Romney was great, the house was great, the neighborhood was great! We arrived about an hour earlier than expected and since we were traveling with a 4 month old baby we needed to get into the house ASAP. I texted Romney and she jumped into action trying to get us the key as soon as possible. Luckily we got in quickly. She is very responsive and the locals that she has helping her out were also great. She even had them bring over a new hairdryer when I inquired if there was one - that's service! The house is beautiful, the beds are so comfy (which is unusual in MX) and the house is well stocked with the essentials. The neighborhood is great and fairly quiet for MX. It is a 10 minute (uphill) walk to the centro...we did it with the baby several times a day. There is a mercado close by, a few restaurants, and an OXO. One thing that is hard to tell from the pictures is that the master bedroom is on the second floor and you need to walk outside (in the secure courtyard) to get there. This is pretty normal in MX and it was not a problem for us, even with a 4 month old baby. There is a also a tub in the master bathroom (again, unusual for MX). We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely stay here again next time we are in SMA. We have stayed in 3 different AirBnB's in SMA and this is by far the best one! Thanks for a great trip Romney!!!
The host and the caretaker, Rosa, were wonderful and welcoming. The place was beautiful overall, great location, and very comfortable. I suspect that many people don't stay in the first floor bedroom because at night the bugs came out:
mosquitoes, flying beetles, and moths. Also, whenever I took a shower on the first floor, the pipes would squeal and clank throughout the house terrifically loud. There was also a strong smell of gas from the stove that penetrated the whole kitchen-living room area.
The other difficult thing was that the taxi that brought us to the house did not know where the house was and it is a little difficult to find. Make sure you have a map with you and know that the numbers don't follow in order and many of the streets have very similar names.
Sorry about your issues downstairs, We actually have people stay there often and have never heard any of these things before. If you had let me know I would have addressed them immediately. As far as the address goes I always tell the renters exactly what to tell the cab, which I did to you also. So it's not usually a problem. I hope you enjoyed your time in San Miguel.
The host canceled this reservation 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was a nice place, but a little too far off the beaten path. The walk toward the centro was all uphill and there were no buses. Also, lots of stairs to get to the master bedroom. All in all, not the best place for an elderly couple. We felt it was over priced. We hd rented 3 other places that were Better located at about half the cost. Would not stay there again.
Hi Dick, I am so sorry that our home did not fit all your needs. I can sympathize how the stairs, and the 10 minute gentle, upward slope to the centro, could be challenging for an elderly couple. Although it is true there are no bus lines, the taxis are plentiful right outside the door, hopefully you were able to take advantage of this inexpensive service and enjoyed your time in San Miguel.
Romney is a terrific host. I arrived late (and my bags were lost) and she made sure there was someone there to meet me and show me around. Her girl even took me to a grocery store at midnight for a tooth brush. The house is better than described - 3 levels, all clean, tranquil, nicely decorated and most definitely filled with flowers. A true refuge. The quick walk to town (Centro - Jardin) is easy, safe and picturesque. The rooftop terrace is so relaxing. The king-size bed is very comfortable. The internet is fast. And great towels! An excellent value. San Miguel is a truly magical place to escape, relax and get back in touch with some of the more basic (and important) values in life - which includes no stress, no hustle & bustle, great weather, sensational margaritas, huge fresh breakfasts for less than $5 and the occasional donkey walking in the street. I went there for 5 days to write and the house afforded me all the inspiration and tranquility I could have asked for. Thanks! Had a great trip.
Such a lovely home in San Miguel. Very well equipped. The fountain in the courtyard was so relaxing. The upstairs bedroom was so comfortable! We had everything we needed, even a fan to keep us cool. We had plenty of hot water for our showers each day. The neighborhood is in a flatter area and we walked all over! Excellent restaurants only a few blocks away. We highly recommend staying here!
