The loft was an absolutely amazing place to stay while in the city! We were within walking distance of great restaurants and - the best - Limantour, one of the best 50 bars in the world. The loft was great, comfortable, clean, and a great location. Alex was a great host - he answered any question we had very quickly and made sure everything was perfect. I definitely plan on staying at the loft again the next time I visit Mexico City!
Alex's loft is a true gem! The terrace and view are absolutely stunning and the loft was clean and cool. Alex's brother was very kind and thoughtful showing us how things worked and Alex himself was extremely quick to respond and helpful when we texted him a question about taxis. While it may have lacked a bit in water pressure, the shower water is heated by the sun which we thought was pretty rad. The neighbourhood is our favourite in Mexico City and we will definitely try to stay here again next time we are in the D.F. We miss that winding staircase up to the sky already. Thank you, Alex!
Alex's loft is not only beautiful but is located in an ideal location within Col. Roma. We really enjoyed our time there, spending mornings and evenings on the terrace and exploring the city in between. Alex was very kind and helpful as was his brother who helped us move in with our bags on the first night. I strongly recommend this loft and hope to return one day soon.
Thanks for everything Alex!
Great space for the budget traveler. My wife and I stayed here for four nights. The apartment is in the Roma neighborhood and is a good jumping off point for a lot of the museums, galleries and culture in Mexico City. There are street tacos nearby as well as some excellent cafes and restaurants.
If you are looking for a high end experience, this apartment is not it. The apartment itself is clean and tidy with a sweet little patio full of potted plants. While I was there, the shower had no hot water, which led to some really fast, really jolting morning showers. The walls are very thin and the noise from the street seems all too close while trying to sleep at night. Drivers in D.F. honk a lot, so you get to experience that first hand. Honking stops at some point but there are also several neighbors with dogs that barked all night long every night of my stay. Not just a little barking but a lot. Maybe it's like this everywhere in D.F., I really don't know but I doubt this was isolated based on it happening every night. I had to bust out the ear plugs. One other item of note, and I know the owner Alex has no control over this, the building next door has a couple of cats and a dog. Their yard is the roof of the neighbor's building and the smell of urine walking up to the apartment is really strong.
All in all, I had a decent experience here. Alex was really easy to coordinate with and apart from the issues above, my stay was not bad except for disrupted sleep.
I regret that you do not write to inform and solve the issue of hot water and noise.
For heating water we have thermal solar heater but on cloudy and rainy days, I can turn on the gas heater.
The walls are wood with thermal insulation 3 "and the windows and doors are double glazed, little house in Mexico are PVC and two glasses as ours, if you close the windows and doors perfectly should have no problems with noise.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed Mexico City.
Best Regards !!!
Alex was quick to respond when I made my initial inquiry and remained on top of everything throughout the whole experience. I would highly recommend this eco-loft to anyone looking to stay in the D.F. The garden patio is so well-kept and beautiful. To sit on it, in the sun, and read a book, or just look out at the city, is a treat in itself. The neighborhood is close to all that Roma/Juarez/Condesa has to offer. We even spent one day just walking from park to park exploring--so pretty!
The loft itself is full of sun and has all you need (and then some) for a great stay. There are books and maps to help you with exploring, a mosquito net over the bed just in case, a coffee maker, etc. We were never without.
And once again, Alex was fantastic. There was a point when the electricity went out for a short time during the storm, and Alex made sure we had what we needed and even gave us advice if it happened again (which it didn't). He gave recommendations for places to eat in the hood and overall--gave us an ideal Airbnb experience. Highly recommend.
