New Chalet style house in the mountains in southern vermont. 2 hours from Boston and 3.5 hours from NYC this house is all wood, Exotic peruvian floors, pine ceilings and expansive mohogany decks. Huge loft with king size bed and private deck overlooking the woods. Stone Fireplace that burns pellets and keeps the house toasty warm with out the hassles of bringing in wood. Close to all Southern Vermont ski areas. There are General Stores, country stores, horse farms and orchards within a short drive. Hiking trails to the Pinnacle start a few feet from this house. A great place to escape to
We had a great, relaxing stay at the Wood House! Colin was very responsive, easy to work with, and answered all our questions. His brother is the caretaker and had the house all set up for us, including the fireplace going, which was very welcoming.
We loved the pellet stove, the open style of the house, and the privacy/quiet, as well as the fact that it was pet friendly. It's a new house so a little rough around the edges and there's not a ton of stuff, but there were enough dishes, pans, etc for us to do all our cooking. It's an easy drive to Putney and Brattleboro, but feels very secluded which is what we were looking for. Overall we had a great time and would go back!
Colin was easy to work with and communicate with. Everything was as described. Thanks Colin!
I had a great experience here! The cabin is tucked away in the woods, such a lovely getaway for cityfolk such as myself. Colin and his brother are very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. All necessities are already set up and everything was so clean and cozy. The fireplace is also a really nice feature of the house and i'd imagine the porch would see a lot of action in the summer. The adjacent towns are also incredibly quaint and inviting (highly recommend the arts/craft store on the way (putney?)
Thanks for the good memories :)
Really enjoyed our stay at Colin's Cabin. My wife and I had a great time even though the weather dropped below zero outside. Putney is a great village to grab all the essentials and Vermont gifts.
We spent a weekend in Colin's home and really enjoyed our stay despite having a few issues with the fireplace. Colin was really caring, responsive and empathetic and we surely appreciated his efforts to make everything perfect. We'll definitely recommend this place to our friends!
My wife and I were looking for a in-the-woods escape near Boston and we couldn't have been happier with Colin's place.
We went for a beautiful and easy hike (at nearby Pinnacle Pt) and spent hours playing games, reading, or writing by the fire... which Tim (Colin's brother who lives next door) fired up before we arrived - love those little things.
So if you're looking for a great place to unwind, look no further!
The cabin is beautiful and in a stunning location, close enough to Putney and Brattleboro while being far enough away to let you be out in the country. Colin was very responsive, as was his brother, and they set the cabin up for us quite beautifully. Thank you for a lovely time!
The Wood House was really a great getaway!! The privacy was great but Tim, Colin's Brother, rushed right over to lend us a baking sheet and a corkscrew just as fast as he could after we called. The surrounding town has a natural charm as well. Overall, this was exactly what we were looking for, a relaxing, private, weekend getaway. And we were really close to hiking trails which had great views and historical information along the way.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We were looking for a place to stay near Keene, NH because we were heading to Pumpkinfest and there's no Airbnb's in Keene (or at least there weren't any left). All thought it was quite a drive from Keene and a bit tricky to find in the dark, this beautiful house in Putney, VT was a great option. Such a cozy spot and me and my two sisters slept very well. But waking up the next day was the real treat -- we arrived at night and didn't realize how beautiful the surrounding area was. We woke up with gorgeous fall foliage pouring in from every window. It was breathtaking! While our stay at this house was brief, it was certainly memorable and it would be a place I would seek out again in the future. We really enjoyed exploring Putney the following day as well - it's a really lovely little town!
