Kevin was very welcoming. He stayed up late to make sure we got in from the airport okay. He was always available for questions and even offered up some local snorkeling spots to check out.
The delicious banana bread was a delight to wake up to our first morning on the Big Island. We're sure it's the best we've ever had.
The suite was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Only about a 5 minute drive to downtown.
We would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.
Kevin- Sorry we missed you when we left, thanks for everything!

Hard to add anything else to the large number of already positive reviews. Quality host and quality place. Highly recommended.
Kevin is very kind, and the place is very convenient, neighborhood is quiet and nice, near supermarket and sea. It's worth to be there again.
Thanks, Kevin, for sharing your house with us. We enjoyed our time there. Mahalo!
Hello Kevin. Thanks again for having us at your place. Fruit and cake was a very kind ans tasty welcome present. We were very comfortable, and would have appreciate the access you give to the lanai if weather had been warmer. We hope to visit again in the future!
Description of place is accurate. Clean and bed comfortable. Located at the back of the house but share a patio with front apartment. We did not cook there, but does have facilities outside. Arrival fruit, banana bread and coffee for first breakfast was very nice. only down side is there is no sound proofing so noise from up stairs and next door is heard (vacuuming and snoring) nothing that earplugs couldn't cope with.
This private room is in a quiet, family neighborhood just a few miles from central and downtown Kona. You have your own parking space that is only for you, so no need to battle for a spot anywhere. Private shower and bathroom were very nice, and I made use of the coffee machine, plates+silver and microwave.
Here's the best thing about the property: the bed is very comfortable. I've stayed in quite a few airbnbs, and this bed is the best. It actually felt like a b&b, and not just someone's spare room with all their personal items laying around. Another plus is the overhead fan and the screen door that lets in the cool air at night. I felt very safe. Kevin also leaves snorkel gear for your use free of charge, and they fit me just fine. A big save on money, considering what some places in Kona charge tourists!
Tip: arrive in daylight and drive slowly through the neighborhood. Lots of kids, dogs, and families walk the area.
I was born and raised on the Big Island. I grew up on a farm in Holualoa. My wife and I are both self employed. I own and operate an auto detailing business from my home. My wife works for a commercial airlines and is a licensed Realtor in the State of Hawaii. We love the simple but fun lifestyle we have created for our family. We have a wealth of knowledge of Hawaii and would be happy to share that knowledge with you. We are avid gardeners, believe in sustainable living, and still have big dreams.
