Great location
90% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Just a 15 min walk to the Convention Ctr and a 10 min Lyft or 30 min walk to downtown and the Pearl District, this is a new, light-filled 2 story separate apt with views of bamboo groves and organic gardens. Full kitchen, bathroom with shower, and AC. New hot tub ( shared with big house). Location is tops: close to all 4 quadrants of the city in a quiet, lovely, safe and historic neighborhood. Walk score is 87; bike score 99. MAX light rail, street car, bus are 5-10 min walk; no car needed.

The space
This is a stylish, cozy and comfortable 2 story apt. The ground floor (no steps, just roll your suitcase right in the door) holds the bedroom with a queen bed, desk, full bathroom and closet. The upper floor has a compact but full kitchen (toaster, coffee grinder and maker, microwave), eating nook and living area with futon couch. All appliances are energy efficient. The space is accented by colorful rugs and other indigenous textiles from my worldwide travels. The unit is ideal for two adults who share the main bedroom on lower level. The futon couch upstairs can be made into a double bed if desired for the 2nd guest. All bedding is cotton, wool or other natural materials. Relax with a Netflix film, the latest episode of your favorite series, or simply listen to music on the flatscreen as well. Because there is a spiral staircase, it is fine for infants, but not recommended for children aged 1-4.

Where you’ll be

Portland, Oregon, United States

The quiet, tree-lined historic Irvington neighborhood contains the largest collection of Queen Anne, Arts and Crafts, and Colonial Revival style homes in Oregon. You are close to downtown; it is only a 20 minute walk or a 5-10 minute walk to the MAX light rail, street car (line B to downtown, line A to points on the eastside like OMSI) or bus. I am just a 15 minute walk to the Convention Center as well. I provide walking and bike maps in the apt, as well as guide books to the city plus the Gorge, the Oregon Coast and Wine Country. Other neighborhoods you can reach within a 20-30 minute walk or a 10 minute drive are: Mississippi, Alberta, Hollywood, (all east side) and the Pearl District (west side.) Be sure to check out our famous food carts; there are pods throughout the city and many even have tents with heaters and fire pits. The closest Farmer's Market happens on Sunday 10-2 at NE 7th and Wygant, open May-Nov. The biggest, busiest Farmer's Market is downtown by Portland State University; it is open Saturday 9-2, March through November. The Hollywood Farmer's Market is another good option, just 10-15 min away, open Sat Apr-Nov. All of these are delightful places to people watch and browse; buy or sample gorgeous farm fresh produce, or enjoy a casual lunch outside. Most have live, local music as well.

I am a long time Portlander, since 1968. I love the people, the food, the recreation, the art and music, the nearby mountains and beaches. I have traveled the world as a professional photographer since I finished college, but don't want to live anywhere else. In my spare time I love to garden, read, watch films, knit, sing, hike, bike, kayak, cook and do yoga.
