Central Bali’s most famous cultural sites are within easy reach, including:
-Sanur Beach (approx. 12 miles)
-Kintamani & Lake Batur hot springs
-Temples like Besakih and Tanah Lot
-Seminyak, Legian & Kuta for beach day trips

Live Like a Local!
In Lodtunduh, you’ll witness the full rhythm of Balinese village life—from rice planting to harvest, colorful religious festivals, and traditional ceremonies. You may even catch a local cockfight (a cultural reality here). It’s all part of a vibrant, authentic Bali experience that’s worlds apart from the tourist buzz of Kuta or Seminyak.

For those who enjoy cooking, Villa Budi is just 2 km from the main supermarket (Coco Supermarket), making it easy to stock up on local ingredients.

In the village, you’ll have the chance to witness traditional ceremonies, celebrations, and festivals—some of which can be quite lively and noisy, adding to the authentic Balinese experience. Depending on the time of year, you might even encounter a cockfight, a controversial but deeply rooted village tradition. And, of course, you’ll experience the captivating cycle of rice farming in action, from field preparation to harvest. The sight of ducks dancing through the paddies is a unique and charming part of village life.

Villa Budi offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the rhythm of Bali’s rural life while still being close to Ubud’s vibrant cultural scene. Come and experience the beauty, serenity, and magic of this unforgettable destination.

Guest access
Guests can use all the facilities at Harmony. It's designed so each villa is private but with a sense of community. The infinity pool and yoga deck on the edge of the ricefields is very large and and always feels private. Due to its size and differing guest schedules, you’ll find it's rare not to have it to yourself. Budi has a huge wrap around deck facing north to Mt Agung and Mt Batukaru and west to the amazing sunsets. Enjoy endless views as far as the eye can see from the pool and yoga deck.

Other things to note

Neighborhood highlights

Our village is still mostly agricultural and its a fascinating place to experience real Bali village life which can't be found in touristy areas such as Kuta or Seminyak. That's the lovely thing about our area of Lodtunduh village.

We're a 2 minute walk to great local restaurants (warungs) in the village main street... and close to local spas, yoga studios (The Yoga Studio, Intuitive Flow, The Yoga Barn) and the many great restaurants in Ubud.

You'll likely encounter ceremonies, celebrations, weddings, a cremation perhaps (a big event in Bali) , the local temple festivals. But most of all you'll see (depending on when you visit) the fascinating cycle of rice farming from preparing the fields, planting seedlings, thinning out the new rice, watching the ducks do their amazing dances, to harvesting, threshing and drying.

You'll go for a walk in the village and probably see the village men parade their fowl and perhaps experience a cockfight – although you may not approve, it’s very much a part of village culture. If you want you can wager and maybe win!
