Beautiful, large, cool apartment right in the heart of picturesque Cortona. Simone is a wonderful, energetic host. We were presented with a bottle of wine on arrival and Simone was able to make some great recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the area. Thanks Simone!
Nice apartment, great location. Simone was very helpful.
Simone lived up to his reputation of being a great host and came to our rescue with our rental car and some issues the very first day we arrived. The apartment is very clean and a great hideaway, very quiet. The terrace is wonderful even though we were there in March. We loved coming home, being able to cook, and the two bedrooms give extra space for a couple. Per usual, the kitchen is the place where one hangs out in Italy, since they are always larger than what Americans would call "the living room." It's a very sweet place and quiet. We had some issues with the internet but Simone did his best to take care of those for us. We were there for 15 days. We recommend this to anyone that wants to experience being in a neighborhood in Cortona. Tucked away. And within walking distance, very easy, as he notes, of the two piazzas. Great visit.
Dear Simone....below is the review my daughter prepared for your establishment as I merely booked the accommodations through my Airbnb account....
Here is Tara's review:
"We LOVED staying at Simone's place! Cortona is such an idyllic town, and Simone's apartment was perfect, a 2 minute walk to the center of town with such a quaint kitchen to cook in. The best part of the trip was having Simone as our host--he really went above and beyond to make our time fantastic. We got in late on Sunday after buses had stopped running, and he called 8 different taxi companies for us to get us a ride, otherwise we would've been stranded at the train station. He checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed, and even set up a tour of a local winery and gave us a personal driving tour of the town. We'd definitely stay here again! Thanks Simone for such a wonderful week in Tuscany!"

What a wonderful base to explore and embrace Cortona from!
2 minute walk from everything, the luxury of a home away from home, greeted with wine, sweets, breakfast goodies- Simone was a truly delightful host - having thought of everything!
I would highly recommend Simone and his place as a base or your holiday in Corona, and hope to visit there again one day
While Casa Idilio Cortona is charming, Simone, is priceless! This wonderful man, cares for his guests as though they were his children. The apartment is warn, cozy and very clean. The terrace is such a bonus. Take Simone's suggestions for sights and food and Cortona may just be the highlight of your trip.
Simone's apartment made for the perfect home base during our recent honeymoon trip to Cortona. The location was close to the center of town, yet still quiet and tucked away. (Well, okay, the entire town is quiet and tucked away, but that's why you're visiting Cortona, right?)
The apartment was charming, spacious, and clean. The pictures are all accurate, the one exception being the bathroom image of the tub: it's actually a stand-up shower. That said, the water pressure is great, and we never ran out of hot water (which is saying a lot in Europe).
We loved the terrace at the back of the apartment; it was the perfect place to enjoy a late lunch with meats, cheeses and bread fresh from the weekly open-air market. This leisurely meal was made even more special with the local chianti that Simone left for us.
Simone was a great host: funny, kind and thoughtful. He offered to give us a ride from the Camucia train station at the base of Cortona, which made for such a nice welcome! He also gave us some great restaurant recommendations (try Fufluns! Great pasta, and the best farro soup ever).
Simone's apartment is the perfect place to stay while visiting one of the most magical towns in Italy. Highly recommended; we can't wait to return!
Our second stay with Simone, so it must be a good place. Simone is a great host, leaving food for breakfast, fruit milk etc. The apartment is quaint and delightful and has all that is needed for a really enjoyable holiday. Would not hesitate to recommend it. Also, Cortona is a fantastic base for a holiday in Tuscany.
Simone was the ultimate host; even coming to the train station to pick us up when we arrived. He had many little unusual touches, fresh fruit, candy, some breads and even some drinks in the frig. The house was well equipped but unfortunately we are very attached to our computers and did miss not have access to the Internet. We were able to get on free wifi at Bar Signorelli in the piazza. This would be a wonderful place to spend a week; especial in the summer with the lovely patio off of the kitchen. The apartment has a ground floor entry and is only a few minutes walk up to the city hall piazza where everything is happening! You'll enjoy your stay in Cortona with Simone; he makes you feel like a friend of the family!
