Room in a bed and breakfast

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Relax in this beautiful home, our lovely renovated 1940's Bar Harbor coastal cottage, with all the charm of the era & many modern updates. 5 minutes from Bar Harbor Village & just outside the entrance to Acadia National Park, Half Moon Inn is central to most of Mount Desert Island and the national park. Grounds are serene & magical. You will love this home. The LR and sun room are spectacular for breakfast or evening drinks. Enjoy several sitting areas inside and out. Breakfast in Sun Room.

The space
Enjoy staying in an historic Bar Harbor Coastal Cottage and the privacy of your lovely room with California King Bed. This is a new home for us and we have renovated and decorated beautifully. Because it is a home built in the 1940's, it was not built with many bathrooms. We have added baths where possible, but this room shares a bath with one other room. To minimize this inconvenience, we keep the bathroom clean throughout the day and evening. Guests have been very happy with the accommodations. All 5 Star Reviews. Guest access
Guests can enjoy the Living Room, Sun Room, Dining areas, Outdoor walking and sitting areas. Hosts are flexible and welcoming. This is a beautiful home and our guests have been super happy staying here.

We offer buffet style breakfast in the sun room, each morning, including coffee, tea, juice, wild Maine blueberry muffins, boiled eggs, and yogurt.

During your stay
We are always available to help with any needs the guests may have. Our family has been on the island for 7 generations and we grew up here, so we can help direct you to the best of the best on the island.

Other things to note
Half Moon Inn is 2 minutes from the entrance to Acadia National Park and central to many things on the island. Our guests have loved the location.
There are many things to do close by, like fantastic hiking, biking, kayaking, boating, galleries (local Maine artists are actually quite wonderful and we have some renowned artists on the island, like Richard Estes), shopping, and exploring.

Our grounds have walking trails and some stone steps with no hand rails. Please be careful. You are very close and/or within walking distance of restaurants and 5 minutes from Bar Harbor Village. Enjoy the rural setting with close proximity to shops and restaurants.

We offer a buffet style breakfast daily in the sun room.
