Casa Comunal is a minimalist home, a rustic experience located where the jungle meets the sea. It is comprised of two homes that combine into one* by opening large sliding walls for a total of:

-5 bedrooms**, 4 bathrooms total (as described below)
-2 master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms featuring concrete bathtubs
-3 additional guest bedrooms
-2 guest bathrooms

Casa Comunal is a minimalist island home, located where the jungle meets the sea. While the home is very stylish, we recommend our guests be prepared for a rustic holiday. It is a combination of architectural simplicity and a glamping-type experience. This means you may encounter:
-Bugs
-Temporary power outages
-Temporary water stoppages
-Clogged toilets
-Etc.
Please keep in mind that tropical waterfront properties endure a lot of wear and tear. Our staff works daily on maintenance and cleaning and we will be there if you have any requests for repairs. However, the space always needs more work. If you require a high-end luxury hotel-type experience, we suggest you book a different accommodation. Given that we run on rain catchment, if your water runs out, depending on if we deem your usage to be excessive, we may need to ask you to pay $220 for the delivery of more water. This can be a slow process, so again, PLEASE CONSERVE WATER!

Also, regarding swimming at our beach in front of the house:
The sea out front of the house has a shallow reef. We only recommend swimming here on very flat days which are most common in the late summer months. During the rest of the year there may be waves, which make the reef dangerous for swimmers. We do not recommend swimming here at any time of year with young children. However, there is a beach just 10 mins walk down the road with a sandy bottom for an easy swim in a sheltered bay that is perfectly calm every day of the year.

Casa Comunal is 7 minute taxi ride or 20 minute bike ride to the Bocas town center. It's a 10 minute walk to the most consistent surf breaks on the island and a very charming beach bar/restaurant/lounge called Paki Point where you can watch the surfers. There is also an excellent brick-oven style take-away pizza restaurant directly across the street.
