It shares a roof & entryway room w/ Casa Norte, our other listing, but separated by 2 sliding walls for total privacy. Casa Comunal is a large beachfront property comprised of Casa Sur and Casa Norte, two distinct rentals divided by an large entryway room with two walls that slide shut for total separation and privacy*. The Casa Sur portion features:

PLEASE READ:
Casa Comunal is a minimalist island home, located where the jungle meets the sea. While the home is very stylish, we recommend our guests be prepared for a rustic holiday. It is a combination of architectural simplicity and a glamping-type experience. This means you may encounter:
-Bugs
-Temporary power outages
-Temporary water stoppages
-Clogged toilets
-Etc.
Please keep in mind that tropical oceanfront properties endure a lot of wear and tear. Our staff works daily on maintenance and cleaning and we will be there if you have any requests for repairs. However, the space always needs more work. If you require a high-end luxury hotel-type experience, we suggest you book a different accommodation.

Regarding sleeping arrangements, we really only recommend 4 guests because the couch is small and in the living room where the sunlight shines brightly in the morning. It is a fine sleeping spot for a small person or child but not advisable for an typical adult.

Also, regarding swimming at our beach in front of the house:
The sea out front of the house has a shallow reef. We only recommend swimming here on very flat days which are most common in the late summer months. During the rest of the year there may be waves, which make the reef dangerous for swimmers. We do not recommend swimming here at any time of year with young children. However, there is a beach just 10 mins walk down the road with a sandy bottom for an easy swim in a sheltered bay that is perfectly calm every day of the year.

This property is 5 minute taxi ride or 15 minute bike ride to the Bocas town center. It's a 10 minute walk to the most consistent surf breaks on the island and a very charming beach bar/restaurant/lounge called Paki Point where you can watch the surfers. There is also a very charming brick-oven style take-away pizza restaurant called Ciao Pizza directly across the street.
