The space
The blue room is where you enter. It is your living room with super comfy furniture and a huge screen. Sculpture and ice prints surround the perimeter.

The next room is the kitchen. Very big with lots of cooking amenities, a huge island for prep, an intimate dinner table for two. Ice prints, color, sculpture accent the space.

The next room is the bedroom. A sitting area to hang or have a drink. A queen bed. Lots of dresser storage to make the visit neat. An electric fireplace for ambiance. Lights are all on dimmers. High end sheets for comfort and coolness. The bed overlooks the fire pit and the wood fired sauna just beyond the deck. The landscape unfolds to an expansive valley view.

The bath is pure luxury. A soaking tub, round glass shower; beautiful tile, natural light. A real enjoyable amenity for the property. Sliding doors open to decks that wrap the Art House on all sides. Plenty of tables, lounges and spaces set to enjoy the views, sun, breezes, landscape, deer and sculpture.

The fire pit has two lounge chairs low to the ground so you can cozy up to the steel custom made structure. Big stones and lots of wood supplied make this amenity a real treat.

Neighborhood highlights

We are in farm country with rolling hills, grasslands and deep forests. The Delaware River Basin is 10 miles away. We are secluded on 38 acres of pristine valley views with a big open sky. The funky little river towns of Callicoon and Narrowsburg are close by. Honesdale is 18 minutes. Peppino's is our favorite restaurant in Callicoon. The air is soft with a slight humidity from the grasslands. The sun is bright and strong. The breezes are luxurious. It's like being at the beach in the summer. Summer nights are cool and breezy. Fall offers spectacular colors and cool temperatures. Winter can be a frozen tundra. Plenty of cross country skiing on the property. Ice sculptures and super warm floors at 74 degrees inside during the winter. Spring is jubilant with birds nesting and trees blooming. We have hundreds of birds that visit daily. A resident family of turkeys, deer, ravens, eagles, woodchuck, geese and fox. The wildlife is abundant. Explore the river basin, small towns, farmers markets and the property. Relax and regain perspective with Art, Sculpture and a dark, star studded night sky.

My work: Sculptor/ Artist/ Teacher
Speaks English
We respect your privacy. We will interact as much or as little as you prefer. Quiet time or a meal together. Come and go as you please. We strive to make your visit a pleasurable and memorable experience. Artist Statement: Tom Holmes is a sculptor working in stone, metal, wood, light, ice and water. He works seasonally, tracking the weather. Different temperatures demand independent responses to materials and approaches. "Ice follows the freezing mark of winter, stone and steel the exterior work space of summer. Spring begins the search for materials and fall settles all debts; emotional, physical and intellectual." I refer to myself as a blue collar artist. I work all the time and make things. There is always something going on around here. It makes for an interesting visit. My wife Carol and I are strongly bound life partners. We enjoy our time together, over 25 years now. Carol, cooks, reads every day, knits professionally and tends the gardens. She is a retired seventh grade science teacher. I am also a musician, drummer and instrument builder. We love to cook. Meals are an elixir in life. Stretched out with good conversation. We are ocean people and travel to Ocracoke NC nearly every summer to swim in the ocean and relax on the beach. Here we kayak, hike and explore the streams, rivers and lakes. We are dog people and Chloe is a cherished, spoiled member of the family. We also keep a turtle, finches, pigeons, three ducks and two chickens.
