The space
We call our place: Star Forest Stay. The main and guest bedroom doors are pocket doors with privacy glass that do not lock. There are skylights in the main room and bathroom above the shower.
The main bedroom has the shower area inside a private entrance bathroom that can be shared with other guests.
Cooking and Baking Kitchen Amenities: You’ll have access to a full kitchen with additional amenities including a full line of spices and herbs, an assortment of oils, a knife set, a popcorn maker, a blender, a small food processor, a coffee grinder, an espresso machine, a vegetable spiralizer, a kitchenaid mixer, a pastry board and baking sheets, a cast iron skillet and a full set of non-stick select pans by calaphon, and a donut maker. We also have a fire pit and 3 burner outdoor BBQ grill with utensils located in the kitchen. There is no dishwasher on site. Please contact us with any questions you may have if you’re not sure how to use.
A/C: We have automated A/C units in the main room and laundry room that can cool the whole place. We also have floor and ceiling fans to circulate the cool air in the space. We have found that the units can cool the space down to about 72 degrees on a 90 degree day.
Water: This place runs on well water and a septic tank. We have recently installed a water softener with Culligan water and it is great for washing dishes/laundry and showering. We will also have a 5 stage filtered water faucet at the kitchen sink.
The Forest: our 6 acre forest bumps right up to Port crescent state park. We have groundskeepers that upkeep the land between guests. Please use the “pack it in, pack it out” method when staying here. That means, no alcohol bottles thrown from the back porch or cigarette butts flicked anywhere within our area.
Guest access
Your access includes the entire main floor as described. We kindly request that guests refrain from entering the crawl space. Additionally, to ensure our housekeeping team is well-equipped, specific drawers are locked and labeled for their exclusive use.
Other things to note
Important: Before arrival, you must complete guest verification through our third-party provider, Truvi, to comply with regulations and provide extra protection. Truvi will email/text you a link. Please complete this verification before you arrive for a quick check-in.
We use Truvi for guest screening. The primary guest's name must be on the application, and the background check must be completed within 48 hours of booking confirmation, per state and city law.
Your booking is NOT confirmed until these requirements are met. To check-in, guests must also sign our Rental Agreement, provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID and matching credit card, and pay a non-refundable damage waiver via Truvi to cover accidental damage.
Your booking confirmation will include the Truvi validation link, which includes the Security Deposit and ID verification steps.
Via Truvi, you will have two choices for damage coverage:
* A $15 non-refundable admin fee + a $500 fully refundable damage deposit.
OR
* A $35 non-refundable admin fee for a $500 damage waiver.
Attention: Truvi cannot process American Express for the deposit/waiver. Please use a different credit card. All deposit/waiver payments are managed exclusively through Truvi, not Airbnb.
We take reservations seriously. If you fail to complete the Truvi screening process (especially for a last-minute booking), we will strictly adhere to our listing's cancellation policy regarding refunds.
Sauna: Our wood-fired traveling sauna (@pondrsauna) may be on-site and available to rent. Please reach out before your stay for a discounted add-on. We may need to coordinate a time with you to pick up the sauna if it gets rented out elsewhere during your stay.
Hunting: To maintain this as a peaceful retreat, hunting is strictly prohibited on our acreage. The cabin is not a suitable space for dressing game.
