The Space

This cozy gem is in an ideal location if you rely on public transportation during your stay. Your room here is close to the Barbur Transit Center AND major bus lines to OHSU/Markum Hill and Downtown (bus nos. 12, 94 Express, 65).

Conveniently located only a short distance from I-5.

Multnomah Village is in SW Portland and referred to as "The Village in the Heart of Portland"

Charming Bungalo: 802 square feet.

Your room: approximately 10 x 10 (see pictures)

House dog: Loveable, sweet and gentle chocolate lab, Leroy Brown, 12 years old, 60 lbs. (check out his glowing reviews). If you tolerate dogs rather than enjoy them, it seems this would not be an ideal fit or have pet allergies. Leroy is a big spirit in the household and keeping him comfortable in his own environment is a top priority for me specifically given his ripe age.

Former foster parent using bedroom now to accommodate guests in my private home located in a safe and very friendly neighborhood of SW Portland. We overlook a greenspace in a green and peaceful neighborhood.

This quaint private room has a with twin bed (amazing pillow top mattress) a lot of closet space, vacant dresser and lots of storage space under the bed. The room is accessed through the main part of the house and the bathroom is shared.

For work, I use the bathroom Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. If this conflicts with your schedule, this room unfortunately won't work, as there is only one bathrom.

Here you will have free WiFi, plenty of street parking, full kitchen privileges and in-house laundry facilities available to you.

There is no cable; but, a blue ray player is available in the living room for any movies you may be interested in borrowing or if you rent DVDs. The TV is a 42" plasma. A free subscription to Netflix is available for you use via Wii. Bedding, towels and soap is provided.

"Home" is only 6 miles (13 minutes) to Downtown Portland, close to I5, and is conveniently located for traveling to Tigard, Tualatin and Beaverton. The Barbur Transit Station is walking distance where you can catch major bus lines including those buses that take you to OHSU/Markum Hill and downtown (Bus lines: 12, 94 Express and 65.) Or, you can catch the 12 without having to walk to the transit station if that line works for you. It is super close.

For more information on Multnomah Village, please use your favorite search engine to research as Airbnb prohibits sharing websites for instant access.

The SW Community Center is approximately a 5 minute drive with great workout equipment, exercise classes and drop in volleyball and basketball. For specifics on the features they offer, class schedules and pricing, please search the SW Community Center using your favorite search engine.

You will be a short drive away from the jewish community which offers the Mittleton Community Center. For information on the community center please search Mittleton online.

I have resources available to introduce you to whatever type of activities you are interested in exploring while my guest, as well as restaurants, shopping, etc. You are not far from the Oregon Coast, the Columbia Gorge, Multnomah Falls and, of course, Voo Doo Donuts!

"Home" is also within an approximate 8-10 minute walk (at most) to Marco's Cafe, Thinker Toys, Journeys, Jimmy's Bar and Grill, Grand Central Bakery and other great shops and restaurants.

For a longer walk or a drive, you can visit Lucky Lab and Old Market Pub for a sample of some of the amazing beers the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer. Coffee shops are also in walking distance in both Multnomah Village or on Barbur Boulevard.

The majority of my waste is recycled and picked up weekly. I do not have garbage service or a compost system. If this is a concern, be sure to let me know prior to making your reservation in hopes we can work together to accommodate your needs. It is my understanding Portland State University has compost drop off locations. I can provide you with the information I have for their compost program.

With a $200 refundable deposit, there is bike rental available for $5.00 per day. The bike is a Gary Fisher street bike in excellent condition conveniently available on the premises. This offer is seasonal.

Here you will feel safe and welcomed. You will be considered my friend and I look forward to meeting you and hosting you while you are visiting the or relocating to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Its probably a good idea to message me directly before trying to book online to confirm availability and ensure any questions you have are answered prior to making your reservation.

Thank you for your interest. I look forward to meeting you!

Other Things to Note

IMPORTANT: This listing only accommodates ONE person. And while you can have friends and loved ones come to the house for pick up and/or drop you off, unfortunately guests of guests are not allowed on the premises or to stay overnight.

This is a strict policy, without exceptions as the house is only 800 square feet with a house dog and I don't want to feel like a guest in my own home.

If you find this does not correspond with your needs, please research airbnb for entire flats to ensure you and your one + are completely welcomed and comfortable in your new environment.

  • Gina is a gracious host and very easy going. I spent a month in her cozy house and it felt like home. She takes constant care of the shared living areas and is very accommodating to ensure her guests are having an enjoyable experience. BTW Leroy is also amazing and lovable, I had a hard time leaving him. i have only amazing things to say about Gina and my experience at her house. I highly recommend a stay here.

  • I stayed at Cozy Room in Multnomah village for a month and it was a very pleasant experience! Gina the host was very welcoming upon my arrival and as my stay went on. Her lovely dog Leroy made my stay even better as I spend quite a few hours at home and felt cozy and someone to talk to :-) My favorite part of the stay is being able to ask Gina any questions I had about Portland/my stay, having someone to exchange conversation with and going on walks in that neighborhood. In addition it was fun to spend a couple of times socializing outside of the home w/ Gina. I would definitely recommend staying with Gina and Leroy! The neighborhood is super cool, easy access to public transportation, and everything you need is close by.

  • If there is a more welcoming, thoughtful host on Airbnb then I will be surprised. Gina goes out of her way to make things comfortable and convenient for her guests. Thank you Gina! And of course I have to mention the bonus of cuddling with her wonderful, loving, chocolate Lab, Leroy.

  • Gina is a charming, generous, gracious and most accommodating host. She (and Leroy, her brown dog!) made me feel immediately comfortable and as much at home as is possible when one is travelling or in a transitional state as I was (my new apartment wasn't move-in ready and I needed a place to stay for a while). And we are both clean and tidy individuals with respect for personal space so getting along was a breeze! I am thrilled to have met her and highly recommend her to all airbnb'ers.

Gina is fun does a great job hosting and Leroy is a fabulous dog. He will accept your kind attention any time, but will leave you alone too if thats what you need. Nice clean place, no issues.

I LOVE to travel and meet new people. I travel as much as I possibly can and have been focusing lately on only international travel. I strive to be pescetarian, love juicing fresh organic veggies as well as making smoothies with organic fruits. That said, I don't judge others for the food choices they make. What others consume does not bother me in the least. I also don't deprive my body what it craves, I just try to make better choices. When not traveling, I am spending time with friends and my lovable chocolate lab, Leroy Brown. I have an active and busy lifestyle so depending on the time of year, there is a chance you and Leroy will have the house to yourself quite a bit. I am a former foster mom to a child who now calls me Auntie and have a healthy relationship with her and the adoptive family. It is awesome to see the rewards and benefits that have surfaced from my caring for this child in need and being a stepping stone for her getting placed into an amazing and loving forever family. I now use her old bedroom to host airbnb guests in hopes to help with the debt I incurred from being a foster parent. I can't think of a better way to incur debt and believe that if everyone foster cared a child or a dog even if only for emergency placement, society would be so different. I am religious about recycling to the point where I don't have garbage service, only recycling. I work for a great company from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. five days a week; so, I enjoy my weekends by surrounding myself with good friends, good times and as much adventure as possible. I have a great group of close friends I call family. . I have minimal complaints about my life and even those are just silly :)
