  • Michelle was very helpful re: knowledge of the area (good places to grab groceries, etc.). One of her restaurant recommendations was my favorite place to eat during my trip (The Blue Gecko...taco joint, yummo).

The room was lovely and VERY comfortable. And stellar view!!!!

  • Michelle was the most awesome host. She made us feel special and we would have loved to spend more time with her. She made our visit to Cancun a most memorable experience. There was little surf when we were there and my wife and I made the most of the gorgeous water to catch a few body waves. It made us feel like we were home in Australia! The public buses which stop right outside Solymar were incredibly frequent and so cheap. It was very easy to get from one end of the strip to the other. Even visiting Walmart during a storm was an adventure for us Aussies. We visited the Mayan Musee which is a must for anyone visiting Cancun. Another highlight was Is Mujures. We got off the ferry, straight onto a boat and had an amazing time snorkelling above the sculptures, coral and fish. Michelle can tell you where to get the best margaritas too! The apartment had everything we could possibly want and the view is to die for! Highly recommended. Value for money and the host with the most!

  • Michelle was great, and this condo is absolutely beautiful with a fantastic view of the ocean. I only wish that I could have stayed longer!

TOTALMENTE RECOMENDADO!

  • Pros:
-Michelle and Shelly were very nice and very helpful! They had information on bus lines and restaurants around the area
-Beach chairs and umbrella provided though we did not use them it was nice to have them incase we did.
    - AC works well
-Kitchen stocked with plates, cups, etc
-There is NO WIFI, thought it is advertised that there is, there is none in the room. If you want/need wifi for any reason you have to go stand in the hallway infront of Michelle's room and it is still a very weak signal
    - The towels and bedding need updating, they are all very stained
    - Stop by a grocery store before you come, there are none on the strip other than ones that are similar to gas station quick stops and there is no water in the room( and you can't drink the tap water)

Also, we left the recommended tip for the house keeper but she did not come during our stay. I would recommend venturing for authentic Mexican restaurants because a lot in that area are very Americanized. Taco and Tequila had good food but I was unable to drink my margarita, it was soo sweet. The Taxi service is great, they are they 24/7 and we got one to the airport for 300pesos and were there within 15 minutes. We also used the bus system to get to dinner places and it was easy to use and very inexpensive.

    Response from Michelle:

According to airbnb guidelines when wifi is free and the guest can go to a place to access it 247 it can be noted as WIFI available . This room specifically states in it's description that wifi is free in the lobby and also near my home and passwords are provided . We are proud to provide free wifi unlike every property that surrounds us :) This room was recently remodeled including the bedspread so I imagine it's a matter of taste but it is NEW . I have tried every margarita in town and Tacos & Tequila is my favorite place so again I guess it's a matter of taste as well. Correct grocery stores are all downtown but the hotel zone has abundant authentic places to eat, perfect beaches , world class shopping , excellent service everywhere and famed discos . I'm sorry your two day stay did not satisfy you more Noemi

  • Michelle is bright and perky and loves where she lives and what she does. The room could not have been more perfect and was exactly as described. A beautiful view, fresh breeze and steps from the ocean. Everything one needs for a quiet stay. The small kitchenette and the bed and bath were very comfortable. A few days is not enough to take in where you are. Stay a month!

  • I had an amazing time in cancun! This was my first airbnb experience and boy am I grateful. Being a flight attendant, I fly standby so there was no guaranteed time of arrival. I kept Michelle updated and informed her of my situation. Luckily there was no issue getting to Mexico. (We won't speak of getting home..*cough cough* winter storm.. *cough*)

We took a shuttle to the property which was $17/person and luckily we were the very first stop on the hotel island so the ride may have been a little less than 10 mins.

We arrived around 4pm-ish...we arrived around 230...customs and such held us up a bit then you may speak with a few salesmen while waiting for your transportation.

The property was beautiful. Had a Spanish architecture feel to it (duh it's Mexico right? Lol) My mother and I stayed in the king bed ocean/pool view room. There was plenty of space for us each. We only spent 2 days in Mexico, a quick escape from the Midwest winter. The room was nice and clean. There was a balcony which we only used to take picture of the Oceanview. But still nice to look out to view the beautiful blue waters.

The beach is very peaceful and clean. The entrance into the water from the sand is rock-free.

I tried my best not to bother Michelle much. She was always available when I needed her. And I enjoyed my stay in her condo.

Her voice is such a delight to hear. And she was very welcoming. I will be staying again once I'm able to make another getaway.

  • We traveled with our two year old to Michelle's. We stayed in two separate units - one with two beds and one with a King (this unit). We were more than happy with the space. I would suggest trying to bring some food staples with you (tea, coffee and filters) - we had some but had missed these. Michelle was accommodating and available for any questions we had and responded very quickly through email.
Also, ensure you have pesos so that you can easily get on the bus your first day to go do a proper grocery store or restaurant - the condo is a bit isolated compared to the majority of hotels.

    Response from Michelle:

    1. We have coffee, tea and filters available upon request
    2. Cancun is one thin long 22 km line if hotels in one skinny row with restaurants and malls spread throughout so every one of us is a bit isolated unless we are directly in front of a mall and paying $500 per night :)

  • Perfect little apartment on the beach with a pool and everything you could want for a stay. Michelle was super friendly. Recommended!

I love what I do here in Cancun and I have held the #1 position on Tripadvisor for the quality of my rooms and attention to my guests. I traded Canada for Cancun when I was 24 because I had a desire to never have to return to " reality" after vacation again. Mexico proved to be a wonderful place to live. For ten years I worked in all the top luxury hotels in front end service and I learned so many things that can help you have a fabulous experience. I'm here full time, not an absentee owner. The desire to vacation never went away and we enjoy it more than ever. Every four months we head overseas to major world cities to open our minds and have new experiences .... and are always looking for ways to serve you better ~ we love what we do . Sincerely , Michelle
