The space
Our home is a contemporary 4-level row house with 2 car garage. The house was originally built in 1911 and is considered a historic landmark property. It was superbly rebuilt with luxury touches and beautiful architectural details. It features amazing spaces and a comfortable 2,100 sq. ft. of living space with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

Walking distance to the White House, DC monuments, and Georgetown, this beautiful property is located in Northwest, Washington DC. Ask any Washingtonian and they will tell you that this area is one the most desirable and safest in town, perfect for families and business travelers. The neighborhood is a walker's paradise with a 96% walk score, with metro, Whole Foods and great dining options only two blocks away!

Casa Foggy Bottom offers 4 bedrooms, including a spacious den/office that is used as a fourth bedroom.
-> Five comfortable beds: one king, two queens and two twins. All mattresses are high-density memory foam mattresses that are well-suited for most types of sleepers.
-> The master bedroom and bathroom are isolated in the top level for added privacy. Enjoy some fresh air on the private balcony!
-> All bedrooms are equipped with Smart TVs with HD antennas
-> All showers include shampoo, conditioner and soap!
-> The den/office offers a PC with a laser printer and a work desk
-> Nintendo Wii U system in the den/office

This kitchen offers all the necessary cooking equipment and utensils to cook a wonderful and elaborate meal:

Guest access
The entire house is available to you. We have an easy-to-use smart lock in the front door with 24/7 access for your convenience during your stay.

Other things to note
* The 4th bedroom is also the den/office. It is a private space with sliding doors and natural light coming from the skylight and through the inside window (see pictures). This bedroom is equipped with two twin mattresses and it has a decent amount of closet space.
* Infants and toddlers are welcome! We offer baby travel cribs for a fee. Just note that our home is not baby or child-proof.
* There are 4 levels of stairs in the house so please consider if you are coming with babies, toddlers or someone with disabilities.
* The tandem garage will fit up to 2 small-sized vehicles or one large SUV. The garage door opening is approximately 72 inches tall and 98 inches wide. The maximum length or depth available in the garage is approximately 376 inches. Please check your vehicle's dimensions to make sure it fits! Passenger vans will certainly not fit. Please note there is no actual driveway that you could park outside the garage. It is an alley and parking is strictly controlled by the city.
* The Washington, DC area is prone to mosquitoes during hot or humid weather; we recommend using repellent if you want to enjoy our sun-filled deck. You may also see a few carpenter bees hovering our deck which is normal in the DC area during spring and fall. We try to contain them with traps and the good thing is that they are usually harmless and will not sting.
* You might encounter rodents in the public alley outside the house and anywhere on the streets, especially in the evening and early hours of the day. This is an issue the entire city suffers with, as in any other major metropolitan city. We pay for quarterly pest control and report evidence of rodents in the public alley to the city often but please be aware that our efforts have a limited effect.
* We do not offer a gas grill for our outdoor deck.
* Watching TV in the living room is comfortable for up to 6 people given the configuration of the space. Fortunately, every room is equipped with a TV!

SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT

The “Guest” and “Homeowner” agree:

1. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The rental party shall consist of the number of guests declared by the guest in this booking. The maximum occupancy shall not exceed the number of guests declared for this booking at any given time.

2. TERM OF THE LEASE: The lease begins at 4 p.m. on Check-in and ends at 11 a.m. on Check out as per this booking. If the premises appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Guest shall inform Homeowner immediately. If Guest fails to notify Homeowner or its representatives within 12 hours of any dirty appearance or damage, it is presumed that the premise was without defect at the time of Check-In.

3. HOUSE RULES AND RESTRICTIONS: Guest agrees to abide by the following rules and restrictions at all times while at the property and shall cause all members of the rental party and anyone else Guest permits on the property to abide by the following rules at all times while at the property:
> Parties, gatherings or events are NOT allowed in the house.
> Quiet hours are between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
> PETS are NOT allowed.
> Smoking and the use of Marijuana is STRICTLY prohibited anywhere on the premises, including in the immediate outdoor areas of the house (deck, garage area, master balcony or front entrance).
> The total number of occupants will not exceed 8 people at any given time.
> All trash and perishables must be disposed of and dishes washed before departure by the rental party.
> Only use appliances for their intended uses.
> Guests found in the possession of illegal substances will be reported to the authorities immediately.
> Guest may not keep flammable, toxic or corrosive materials within the property.
> Individuals other than those in the rental party may not stay overnight at the property.
> Security of vehicles is the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Guest is severally and jointly liable for damages and costs arising from a violation of the rules listed above attributed to any actions of the rental party and anyone else the Guest permits on the property.

4. OUTDOOR VIDEO SURVEILLANCE: This property has 2 outdoor cameras for security purposes, one located in the front entrance and one outside overlooking the garage and public alley. There are no indoor cameras in the property. The cameras are not to be adjusted, tampered or in any other way disturbed and the view of the cameras are not to be obstructed. Any of these described actions will constitute a breach of contract.

5. NOISE MONITORING DISCLOSURE: This property is equipped with noninvasive, noise monitoring technology that identifies noise disturbances without violating Guest's privacy. The technology cannot record sounds or speech. The technology has been specifically developed for vacation rentals by NoiseAware. The technology can only alert of noise disturbances. The device is not to be adjusted, tampered or in any other way disturbed. Any of these described actions will constitute a breach of contract.

6. ACCESS TO PROPERTY BY HOMEOWNER: Guest shall allow Homeowner or its representatives access to the property and areas reserved for the Guest and the rental party for purposes of repair and inspection.

7. INCLEMENT WEATHER: If there is a major snow storm or hurricane, no refunds will be given unless the state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations. From this point, any unused portion of rent will be refunded to the Guest.

8. INDEMNITY AND LIABILITY: The Guest and members of the rental party are responsible for their own travel and health insurance. The Homeowner and its representatives shall not be liable nor held responsible in any way for accidental bodily injury, death or damage/loss to personal effects of the rental party. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all members of the rental party and its invitees are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises. Guest is severally and jointly liable for damages to the property attributed to any member of the rental party and anyone else the Guest permits on the property.

9. JURISDICTION AND CHOICE OF LAW: This agreement shall be governed by, and construed under the laws of the District of Columbia. Jurisdiction and venue for all purposes and disputes arising out of this agreement shall be in a proper court in the District of Columbia.

10. PARTIAL INVALIDITY: If any provision of this Agreement is held by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall nevertheless continue in full force and effect without being impaired or invalidated in any way. If any provision of this Agreement is in conflict with any terms or conditions binding on the parties because of a third party agreement, such as a policy through a third party reservation source, only the provisions expressly in conflict are considered void; the remaining provisions shall nevertheless continue in full force and effect without being impaired or invalidated in any way.

11. ATTORNEY'S FEES AND COSTS: If any action at law or in equity is necessary to enforce or interpret the terms of this Agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled to reasonable attorney’s fees, costs and necessary disbursements incurred both before or after judgment in addition to any other relief to which such party may be entitled.

Foggy Bottom is centrally situated between Georgetown and Dupont so it is the perfect location to stay when visiting Washington, DC. Casa Foggy Bottom is ideally located on a quiet street in Foggy Bottom, next to several other historic row houses.

[5-10 minute walk] Foggy Bottom metro station, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Circa (casual dining), the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Campono (casual Italian dining), the State Department, the famous Watergate, The George Washington University, GW Hospital.

[10-15 minute walk] The West End neighborhood has Trader Joe's, Blue Duck Tavern (fine American dining), Rasika (fine Indian dining), Illy Coffee, Bayou (casual Cajun restaurant). Close by is Bobby's Burger Palace, which is one of the best casual burgers in town.

[15-20 minute walk] Georgetown and its beautiful Waterfront, with several casual and fine dining options, bars and tons of trendy stores for your shopping needs.
