Our sunny, ground floor, studio has floor to ceiling glass doors opening on to an amazing private jungle garden. It's just a short walk to the BART train and only one stop from the bustling downtowns of both San Francisco and Oakland.

The space
Newly renovated space. Clean, modern, open and light.
Simple galley kitchen with under-counter refrigerator, two burner stove top, electric kettle, toaster and microwave.
Queen sized bed with comforters and heaps of pillows.
Wonderful bathroom with handmade wooden counter and huge walk-in shower.
The apartment has heated concrete floors, high ceilings, concealed ceiling lighting, and original artworks on the walls (we are both artists).
The garden is open for your use, with an outdoor fireplace (stocked with wood), gas barbecue, deck chairs and tables for dining or working out of doors.

Where you’ll be

Oakland, California, United States

If you are coming to Oakland for work or pleasure you probably already know that it's a happening city. West Oakland is an older part of town (our house was built in 1897) and there are lots of charming old victorian houses in the neighborhood. We have a cafe on the corner (10th & Wood) and we are in easy walking distance of some other interesting and delicious cafes (Kilovolt Coffee, The Pretty Lady, Horn BBQ).

Downtown Oakland has an exciting art walk and street fair on the first Friday of every month and spectacular dining options, a classic art-deco movie palace (the Paramount Theater) and a vibrant waterfront.

We live in a racially and economically diverse neighborhood that is rapidly changing. You will encounter long-term local residents, hipsters, artists, urban farmers, young families and homeless people. It's the full urban experience and might be intimidating if you're not comfortable with inner city life. Some areas within a few blocks are NOT recommended for walking - we'll let you know where not to go!
