We are excited to announce that, after a year of construction, Kohala Loke Lani has a Salt Water Pool! An expansive ocean and mountain view cottage located near prime Big Island beaches. You can see three mountains from the property, plus sweeping views of the ocean. This is a large studio ohana that comfortably sleeps two. There are big ocean and mountain views. In the winter months you may even see whales from the lanai! You can follow our adventures on Instagram at PamelaWonderwoman

The space
A large, renovated studio ohana on the tranquil Kohala Coast with exquisite Ocean and Mountain views. Kohala Loke Lani means "Cherished Land of the Heavenly Rose" and it aptly describes the property.

We are excited to announce that, after a year of construction, Kohala Loke Lani has a Salt Water Pool! After returning from a day of exploring the island you can enjoy a dip in the pool or just revel in the view over the water. The pool is shared with the owner's unit, so it will never be crowded.

The unit comfortably sleeps two people in the queen size bed. Full bathroom with shower. This ohana has a large private lanai with BBQ and outside dining. Big expansive ocean and mountain views of Mauna Loa and Hualalai. Mauna Kea is also visible from the property.

If you get tired of going to the beautiful nearby beaches, swimming in the crystal clear ocean, snorkeling, hiking, zip-lining, or exploring the island, the ohana has wireless internet, Sling TV, Hulu, Roku and a Netflix account. There is also a Bluetooth speaker to listen to music.

While the space is most comfortable, and priced, for two people, we can supply you with an Aerobed air mattress if you'd like to have your child/children travel with you. We also have a Pack n Play for very young children.

In these times of uncertainty it is important to talk about our 5 star cleanliness rating.

Kohala Loke Lani has always taken cleanliness very seriously and that has not changed. We have invested in a UV-C sterilizing wand that will be used on all surfaces that can not be cleaned with alcohol or bleach based cleaners. We are, fortunately, ahead of the curve in that we use a duvet instead of a comforter and change the duvet cover to a clean one between every single guest. The pillows, duvet, and sofa will be disinfected with the UV-C sterilizing wand between each guest. Every high touch surface (like the cabinet handles, doorknobs, TV remote control, faucets, refrigerator handle, etc.) gets cleaned during the cleaning process between each visitor. Your comfort, health and safety are our priority. We will still use as many scentless products as possible in order to make your stay comfortable. There is also a UV-C air purifier.

We have a no-contact check in procedure since our door is key-less - I normally will greet you in person, but I do not have to if that makes you uncomfortable.

We are very aware here at Kohala Loke Lani that many people have had momentous life events canceled, or postponed, over the past year. If you are planning a visit to our ohana to celebrate a meaningful event, please let us know.

Where you’ll be

Kamuela, Hawaii, United States

The ohana is located on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. This is a lovely quiet place to visit. All of the houses here sit on lots of a minimum of 1.3 acres.

This region is considered to be desert. We average only 10 inches of rain per year. During our "rainy" season (August-November) our brown grass turns green. Most of the time, it is a dry, desert climate.

Outgoing, fun loving, adventurous, friendly, animal loving artist who loves living in Hawaii. I really enjoy having the opportunity to share the paradise of the Big Island with others. The Big Island is alive and vibrant like very few places on earth. It is a spectacular place to live. Before coming to Hawaii I used to travel the globe - Europe, the USA, SE Asia, New Zealand and Australia, but find that I don't like to leave my island quite as often anymore. I was an avid budget traveler who never found a youth hostel or tent I didn't like. Hawaii is a great jumping off point to Asia, so I see Japan in my future. I recently made it to Korea! As a host I'll see you to say hello and welcome you to the ohana. If you need anything I'm in the next building. I want your stay to be a pleasant one and your experience on the island to be filled with aloha.
