Set on right on the famous Great Ocean Road (front row) within a short flat stroll from Lorne's main strip, this perfectly located beachfront townhouse has commanding ocean and pier views.
Surrounded by glass, the open-plan living/dining/kitchen area leads onto an expansive deck that captures a stunning outlook from the pier to Airey Inlet Lighthouse - on a clear day we can see Mount Martha. Gaze at the whales in the Bay, frockling with their calves, if you're lucky.
Watch as the native birdlife land on your balcony looking in to see if you're around, these beautiful birds are colourful, friendly and tame. Notice the odd kookaburra in nearby trees or perched on a wire. Australian wildlife at it's best, flanked by the stunning ocean yonder.
This property offers ultimate privacy, first class location with outstanding views. 2 Bedrooms, one bathroom, separate toilet and laundry. Wake up to the most brilliant sunrise over the Bay and go to sleep listening to the sound of the waves. Every room in the house captures an ocean view, except the bathroom and laundry!!
Minutes from the heatbeat of Mountjoy Parade with cafes, restaurants, shopping, spa retreat and just cross the road to the beach. Check out this location and outlook!!
Linen/towels: O/seas and interstate guests requiring linen/towels, a nominal fee is applicable for laundering. Doonas and pillows provided. Thanks for your understanding with this.
PLEASE NOTE; EASTER IS PEAK SEASON AND SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - A FOUR NITE MINIMUM APPLIES. BE QUICK TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
A wonderful location, just a short distance from the beach. Clean and tidy with stunning views. Very comfortable bed. Lovely deck looking out on to the sea. Very peaceful and tranquil. Would happily recommend to anyone.
On arrival I was surprised to find the property up a very steep drive as there was no mention of this in the description. This was particularly disappointing as location was a key factor in choosing a place to stay in Lorne and is key for people with mobility issues. The walk to Lorne isn't a flat stroll rather a 20 min walk along a main road with no pavements- we had to rely on the car to access the property and the local facilities.
Further to this rubbish left in the bins from the previous tenants and chips on the lounge floor didn't exude a warm welcome- overall disappointing.
Joanne, it saddens me to read your review. Lorne is a beautiful haven, surrounded by the Otway's, the ocean and built on a hill. It's intrinsic beauty has nominated it at Victoria's most popular beach resort.
If you were interested in the fall of the land, in future, may I suggest "(website hidden) Earth"? If you had elderly persons in your group, you could have let me know & I would be happy to assist. I, at 58yo walk to the Swing Bridge (the start of the shops/restaurants/supermarket, etc) in just 10 to 12 mins - A flat, easy and comfortable board walk in comparison to the rest of the hilly township. If you found the drive steep, then could have easily parked in the street.
I am sorry that it failed to meet your expectations, but important to always highlight positive issues, enjoy each and every one of our holidays. Joanne, you were there from the UK for 2 days and experienced the best view in Lorne from any absolute beachfront residence - view from the Pier to Aireys Inlet lighthouse, it does not get any better!!
I was at the premises prior to your arrival, and found everything in perfect order. My sincere apologies for missing a few crumbs - I admit to using the bin to dispose of a wrapper, and a note. Our guests are consistently thrilled with the location, stunning sea views and reviews confirm this with several return guests. I wish you we;; on your journey. Kind regards, Lorraine
A wonderful location, terrific views of the ocean and only a stones throw away from being on the beach. Lorraine was prompt with her communication and made our stay relaxing and memorable. We would definitely recommend and return!
Nice location and terrace view over the ocean, within 15-20 min walk of the centre of Lorne.
The location of the apartment was very nice. Apartment clean and bare. There was some confusion with the pricing and I was asked after the fact to pay more than I had, this is difficult to deal with while on the move, traveling. Other than that, it was fine.
On Airbnb's recommendation, I requested that Nicole finalise the short-payment, which was declined. There was no confusion over any pricing, I quoted her a rate PRIOR TO HER BOOKING. All documented in all correspondence in the "message thread". I did not ask for any amount over the agreed tariff, which she accepted in writing, again all in the message thread.
I was comfortable with this guest, as she rents out a room in her apartment in NYC and on that basis selected her and her parents. Our oceanfront beach house is minimalistic and not furnished like a principal place of residence. - apologise to the guest for it appearing "bare". Photos are indicative of what is in place.
A sheer disappointment, a bad taste in the mouth as I've always had great guests and fabulous hosts in my travels with using airbnb.
