The space
Whether you're wanting solitude, romance, relaxation or a home away from home, you will fall in love with MIST Lake Cathie. Luxuriously appointed, this recently built, light and bright guesthouse with private entry features a living area with outdoor deck, full kitchen, one bedroom with king bed, full size walk in wardrobe, bathroom and laundry.
All spaces within the guesthouse are private, with most of the rooms facing north, with views of the garden and a small strip of bushland beyond the fence, where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of native birds.

Guest access
Located in a quiet residential area, there is plenty of street parking directly out the front of the property. Access to the guesthouse is conveniently located via a gated pathway that leads to your own private entry. Before arrival, you will receive a code that you simply enter into the front door keypad. No need to carry around a house key. The guesthouse, side yard and back yard are all yours to use in private. Explore the beautiful gardens, indulge in an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and relax on the outdoor deck attached to the living room.
Other things to note
STRICTLY A MAXIMUM OF TWO GUESTS:
No other people are allowed to sleep in the guesthouse. The only exception is an infant under the age of six months (please see end of details for more info on infants).
WHERE IS MIST LAKE CATHIE?
Located on the beautiful mid north coast of NSW, Lake Cathie is an easy 20 minute drive south of Port Macquarie CBD, 2 hour drive south of Coffs Harbour, 2.5 hour drive north of Newcastle or a 4.5 hour drive north of Sydney. Exact address will be provided on booking. We are located on the eastern side of Ocean Drive, so no main roads to cross to get to the beach.
SINGLE LEVEL:
The guesthouse is single storey, with mostly level access, apart from one step at the front door.
THERMAL COMFORT:
Features ducted air-conditioning for either cooling or heating your space. The living room and bedroom also have ceiling fans for a comfortable breeze. All doors and windows have fly screens for fresh air and bug protection.
BEDROOM:
Indulge in optimum sleep in the super comfortable king size bed, with bamboo cotton sheets and pure linen pillow cases and doona cover. Power points are conveniently located on each side of the bed, with USB ports for charging your phone (please bring your own charging cords). Full size mirror, with large walk in wardrobe and 2 x luggage racks. An iron, ironing board and Dyson stick vacuum are also located in the walk in wardrobe.
LIVING ROOM:
Super comfortable two and a half seater sofa, with wall mounted LG 50inch HD television. Easily login to your favourite viewing apps, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Relax in the gorgeous leather chair, with the convenience of a wood side table and overhead brass reading lamp. The living room leads out to a wooden deck and beautiful gardens. One of the living room walls does adjoin our property, however we have installed double layered noise cancelling insulation. You may occasionally hear a low mumble but conversations are not at all audible.
KITCHEN:
Full kitchen, including gas cook top, electric oven, microwave, full size dishwasher and full size fridge. Small appliances include a Nespresso coffee machine. A small selection of Nespresso coffee pods will be supplied and you are welcome to also bring your own (fits Nespresso Original coffee pods range). Or, why not try one our "The Laughing Pug" hot chocolates (best hot chocolate ever!) or drip coffees, and savour the flavours of our range of 'Twinings' teas. If you're into Nutribullets, we have one of those too. There are also a range of cooking pans, trays and utensils and other small appliances such as a kettle, toaster, large 8L Air Fryer, sandwich press, milk frother, hand held blender and champagne bucket.
BATHROOM:
Shower with large single shower head. Well lit bathroom, with large, soft bath sheet towels, quality "Grown Alchemist" guest amenities, hair dryer and other useful guest amenities, such as shower cap and vanity kit.
LAUNDRY:
Features LG washing machine and dryer with complimentary washing powder. You will also find beach towels for guest use here.
WORKING WHILE AWAY?
For your convenience, we have the office essentials such as an EPSON printer with paper, pens, pencils, stapler, ruler and note pad. Although there is no dedicated office desk, there are plenty of options for spaces to work in, including the large breakfast bar.
NON-SMOKING:
The guesthouse and property is strictly a non smoking, vaping and e-cigarette space.
WHAT'S NEAR BY?
The guesthouse is conveniently located an easy, level 5 minute walk to the board walk of Middle Rock beach, Lake Cathie, that leads down a short flight of stairs to the sands of a beautiful uncrowded beach. Explore Middle Rock to your left, or to your right, enjoy a 45 minute return walk to Rainbow Beach, Bonny Hills.
Explore the local coastal area, with a 5 minute drive to Lake Cathie Foreshore or Bonny Hills.
Venture out further to explore other areas such as Port Macquarie, North Haven, Laurieton, Kew and Kendall, all within a 30 minute drive.
So much to do and explore, including swimming, surfing, kite surfing, fishing, nature walks, wineries and much more. We can provide you with contacts and information for other interests you may have, such as surfing lessons, yoga classes and art classes.
Easy 5 minute drive to local facilities such as Woolworths, chemist, bottle shop, health food store, cafes, takeaways, tavern, hairdressers and post office.
2 minute walk across Ocean Drive to local coffee van open most days, as well as a medical centre.
NEIGHBOURHOOD:
Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, on the east side of Ocean Drive, allowing for an easy 5 minute stroll to the beach. Location of the property runs along side Ocean Drive, with some minimal noise from local passing cars. There is a line of bushland between the guesthouse and Ocean Drive, so it is mostly the lovely sounds of local bird life you will hear. Quiet area of a night, to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep.
INFANTS:
You are welcome to bring an infant under the age of 6 months. Please advise us prior to your arrival. We do not however have any bedding available for infants, so you would need to bring your own cot/bassinet, linen and changing mat. We do supply a hooded infant towel. There is a shower but no bath.
