This is a quaint quiet rental flat with stunning views of the seas surrounding Malta. Everything was as described and communication was excellent. Anna and Chris are very accomodating.
Although the space is only studio sized it is well laid out and beautifully decorated. the kitchen is up a small flight of stairs and is shared at lunch hours with the office staff of the firm below the flat. We quite enjoyed running into people there and chatting. The terrace of the kitchen is amazing, affording unbelievable views. It was wonderful to watch all the ships from there. The WIFI was extremely fast - the best we encountered in 3 weeks of european travel. There are shops and restaurants close by and we followed the excellent guide left by Anna and Chris in the flat. A plus rental - highly reccommend. Hope to return one day. Thanks Anna and Chris!
Already before arriving in Malta, Chris and Anna offered to arrange a taxi from the airport to the Vintage Valletta and were they very flexible with arriving times/checking in. This enhanced the feeling of being welcomed and an being an expected guest. And also of being secure of that everyting was alright.
After settling in, Chris came to the door to make sure everyting was okay - which it was - and that the heating was working (needed in February) - a nice touch of care :)
The people that was bumped into due to the fact thet this little get-a-way is located on top of an Architect Studio were very open and everyone asked if something was needed. Smiling faces all arround.
And nothing was needed. It was all there, just as in the pictures, an elegantly furnished jewel of a get-away close to everyting and still quiet (at least in the wintertime). With views to the Mediterranean in two directions!
If you are looking for quiet and private and meticulously looked after (by friendly and inviting persons) - this is where to go.
Chris and Anna are awesome, accommodating and welcoming hosts and they have a fantastic flat for visitors to Valetta. The flat itself is in a modern, architecturally designed building, with 360 degrees views of both the city and the sea, which is superbly located to access the whole of Valetta by foot. The room itself boasts all manner of luxury and comforts: contemporary and clean designs, coupled with interesting art, books and DVDs in the room, plus a fantastic coffee machine and an **extremely** comfortable bed all make for a brilliant stay. You won't find better in Valetta. I left rejuvenated and inspired by both them and Malta, so treat yourself and enjoy it. A
"Genuine boutique hotel experience"–– this is how my fiancé and I would describe our stay at Chris and Anna's place. We were delighted upon entering the apartment for several reasons:
First, it occupies the top two floors of a grand Maltese townhouse with vaulting 3m+ ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. Second, it basically has 360 degree ocean views regardless of where you look. Third, it's in what is arguably the best located street in Malta: in a quiet part of Republic Street which is only a few minutes walk to the sites and public transport.
However, the best things about our stay are these:
The kindness of our hosts: Chris and Anna were always just a text message away. If we needed anything, they'd reply within minutes. They also, stocked our rooms with espresso coffee pods, a fridge full of refreshments, and a little book filled with wonderful suggestions about which restaurants, cafes and sights to visit in the local area. In addition, we really appreciated that that they were not overwhelming in any way. Apart from a nice chat over an espresso, we were otherwise left to ourselves (unless we contacted them).
The design: As soon as you enter the apartment, you will see why Chris' architecture firm is one of the most sought-after in Malta. The apartment only includes the best finishes, furniture and appliances. These include chairs by Charles and Ray Eames, a Francis Francis Illy coffee machine, Philipe Starck lights and artworks by local artists. It's a haven for the aesthetically minded.
Attention to details: It was also a nice touch that Chris and Anna offered to arrange an airport pickup for us, and on the morning of our departure, arranged for a taxi to drop us back. The experience was faultless in this regard.
Having had one of the best getaways in my life, it comes as no surprise that Chris and Anna's place is usually booked out and was featured in a design managing when it was first finished.
I can't wait to stay here again next time I'm in Valletta.
Chris and Anna were very welcoming. The apartment is very stylish and had lots of light and great views. It is also in a very convenient location.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Chris and Anna's place. The apartment is stunning. Every detail well thought through and finished to a very high standard. The apartment is modern, cool and a peaceful retreat from our day to day lives. The location is perfect, close, but not too close to the main square and lots of good restaurants close by The terrace is a highlight with a stunning view over the water and the perfect location to enjoy breakfast and soak up some sun. It's the small extras that made the difference eg; coffee pods and machine, selection of teas, making a dinner reservation for us and the amazing guide on valletta they have put together for their guests. Every recommendation we tried was delicious plus the hot tips on walks and bars. Our only small mention was that the kitchen and outdoor terrace are on the level above the apartment and shared with staff from Chris's architecture firm during lunch hours. To us this wasn't an issue at all as we were out during the days but if staying longer term I would like the privacy of this space to ourselves (it probably mentioned this when booking and I overlooked it). The view and ambiance of this area is brilliant. On a final note, the book collection really impressed my partner with about 5 titles he wanted to extend our stay to read. Thanks so much for offering us a great stay and alternative from the stuffy hotels.

Hey there! I am a Maltese architect who loves art and design, music and travelling.
My partner Anna and I greatly enjoy meeting and working with people from different nationalities and backgrounds.
I was brought up in medieval Birgu, Anna is from Minsk, and today we just love living and working in Valletta, Malta's busy capital by day which calms down and becomes truly enchanting by night.
We believe that the best and most authentic travel experiences are about meeting the locals, spending some time with them, and living in their homes and by their ways. This is why we love AIRBNB; both as hosts and as guests... Well done for such a great idea, AIRBNB, and look forward to hosting you on our beautiful island or meeting you in your home!
