  • Chryssa
  • Mesochoria/Limnionas Beach

Beach and nice tavernas, the best one is the first (towards the south) on the corner, sort of perched on a wall, with the bendyroad passing beneath it
Mesochoria Thessalia Sterea Ellada 340 15
  • Zoodochos Pigi

Mountain-top village with great sea views and sunset from three restaurants - 20 mins drive from Delenia, south-bound. MΠΑΡΜΠΑ ΓΙΩΡΓΟς Taverna also runs its own butchers. Not great for vegetarians!
Zoodochos Pigi Thessalia Sterea Ellada 340 15
  • Néa Stíra

Ferry port and resort town, with protected beach and restaurants: 1. AKROGIALI or ΑΚΡΟΓΙΑΛΗ Next to Neo Market 2. KORALI or ΚΟΡΑΛΙ, at other end, past Hotel Delfini, keep moving away from ferry boats
    Néa Stíra Thessalia Sterea Ellada
  • Almiropotamos

Very child-friendly, playground near beach, ice cream parlour, restaurants with tables on the sand. About 20 kms from Delenia, on the calm, wind-protected side of the island, but packed in August!
Almiropotamos Thessalia Sterea Ellada 340 15
  • Zarakes

Beach with very blue sea! 15 kms after Delenia, turn off main road, less than 500 metres is a sign ΠΑΡΑΛΙΑ ΖΑΡΑΚΩΝ (5 ΚΜ) ie. Beach of Zarakes. SIGN VERY EASY TO MISS! Try Ο ΚΑΠΕΤΑΝΙΟς below steps.
Zarakes Thessalia Sterea Ellada 340 17
  • Marmari

Nice beaches and tavernas. Best beach is Megali Amo, but not suitable on a windy day. Also a port, from where you can go on day trips on old-fashioned wooden boats, and snorkeling Petalioi islands.
    Marmari Sterea Ellada
  • Petries/Agoi Apostoloi

Nice village leading to some great beaches - 37 kms North of Delenia, and really worth the trip. Drive past village and head to Agioi Apostoloi, and try to find ΧΕΡΟΜΗΛΟ (Ηeromilo) beach, to the north
Petries Thessalia Sterea Ellada 340 17
  • Agii Apostoli

Great beaches. Try to find Heromilo (ΧΕΡΟΜΗΛΟ) beach: At junction in harbor turn LEFT(ie stay on asphalt) and 2nd junction, RIGHT, then 100 metres down dirt track where there is a small beach bar!
    Agii Apostoli Thessalia Sterea Ellada
  • Megalonisos Petalion

A group of islands frequented by Picasso, Winston Churchill, Rudolf Nureyev and Maria Callas, no less! You can go on day trips, snorkeling, swimming, mansion-gazing and walk on the non-private islands
  • Káristos

The largest town, with plenty of activities incl, cycling, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, shopping, seeing Castello Rosso (Venetian castle built in 1030) and Montofoli Estate and vineyard.
    Káristos Thessalia Sterea Ellada
  • Mourteri

Long sandy beach, with plenty of restaurants and bars - the best bit is right at the end, past the crowds that are too lazy to walk!
Mourteri Thessalia Sterea Ellada 340 09
  • Eretria

Important ancient city with ruins and archaeological museum. Eretria was a rival of Athens, with amphitheatre and aquaducts which you can still see. Now a large resort town with water sports etc.
    Thessalia Sterea Ellada
  • Limnionas/Mesochoria

Nearest beach to Delenia - follow signs to ΜΕΣΟΧΩΡΙΑ then ΠΑΡΑΛΙΑ. Try the first restaurant (towards the south) on the corner, sort of perched on a wall. Child-friendly but take umbrellas!
    Limnionas Thessalia Sterea Ellada
  • Skyros

A lovely island that you can visit as a day trip. Ferries leave from port of Kymi.
