The Historic Nobleman's Loft & Terraces
Welcome to One of Rome's Ultimate Homesteads
Centuries ago, a Roman Nobleman commissioned the building with majestically high wooden rafter ceilings and steps from his personal apartment on the second floor - known as the piano nobile - leading down to the horse stables below (now the wine cellar). The original wooden beams and arches are still there today and the place has a theatrical feel to it - it begs you to invite friends over to share in the feeling of history.
Selected by the airbnb staff who stayed and filmed here for the airbnb hosting in Rome video.
A very large ancient apartment with 4 Bedrooms each with its own bathroom and with 3 eat-out terraces
The two upstairs bedrooms have double beds which CANNOT be separated into two singles. There is a long narrow room downstairs with two beds and a bathroom. It is ideal for two children or one adult. Not for two adults and no good at all for a couple - beds are not side by side. The fourth bedroom is located adjacent to the main apartment, giving a little bit of space from the main living area.
There's also a double sofa-bed in the living room, and cots can be provided to make the total number of beds available 12.

BOOKED UP? Never fear! I have a rival Roman Jewel that is probably free: http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/230555
Why do I say it's Historic? Well the building probably dates from the 1600s but it was built on top of ruins from far before. Last week, we scratched into the terrace wall and found a Roman Arch buried inside! I posted pics (email hidden)w it is not every day that you have to call in the archeologists when you are making a coffee corner on your terrace! No Wonder Rome's subway has taken decades for a few miles... Please have a look at the pics!
If you are going to Barcelona next, I have a heap of friends with great places so I can refer you if you'd like an insider's opinion.
This is one of the top places to stay in Rome for families or mature groups of friends. We don't accept college student groups.
We are in a quiet cobblestone backstreet not far from the best bakery in Rome a short walk from everything.
You'll have access to the entire floor of the medieval building - complete with Roman aqueduct on the terrace! There are steps leading down to the old stables but that is now just my mini-cellar....
4 bedrooms, 2 downstairs two upstairs. 3 balconies. All in a super fun but quiet corner.

When leaving please leave the dirty towels and sheets on the bed. Please leave the keys on the table.
I stayed here with my girlfriend and a group of friends. The number of rooms, private baths in each room, and large open common space helped it be a very comfortable and special experience.
Martin and his team did a good job to make sure everything was prepared, provided information about enjoying the surrounding area, and were easy to contact for questions.
We were large group who all enjoyed the Nobleman's loft.
The location is fantastic and Martin's team provide great assistance.
And there is the luxury of all that space in the virtual centre of Rome.
Great place in they heart of Trastevere. Martin and his sister Elizabeth are gracious and extremely helpful hosts. Would stay again without hesitation.
Martin & Elizabeth were unbelievably professional in all facets of the their accommodation. I can't thank them enough for having such a great apartment in an amazing part of Rome - it was simply fantastic from the time of the booking thru to our departure.
The effort they go to in putting everything together is a real credit to the team. All that work just makes staying at the home easy ! They were always there to assist, no matter how small the request - again just very professional.
We saw a lot of Rome with the kids and we ate an enormous amount of local food, from great pizza and pasta, delicious gelati and an un-forgetable meal at L' Enoteca Ferrara. Thanks for the tip - So Good !!
If we are ever in that part of Italy again we would surely love to stay there again.
I've got nothing put praise and great memories of Rome, so thanks !
My wife and I have been to Rome several times. In the past we stayed in some of the more 'touristie' areas for quick access to locations. This trip we wanted to stay in a neighborhood, but still have quick access to the sites and sounds of the city. We loved the location and the residence. We were able to get everywhere easily and loved the apartment. The space is great for entertaining, the rooms are all AC, and the water pressure is excellent - if you're an american traveling in Europe than you know this is a big deal!
The hosts were very accommodating. They provided numerous resources outside of the apartment and made us feel right at home on arrival. I would recommend the location to anyone and will likely be going back myself.
Martin and his sister were great this is a beautiful place in a safe great location
Will def come bAck
The Nobleman's Loft is just as awesome as advertised. The location in Trastevere is incredible; just minutes from Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere and the Tiber. All the main attractions in the historic center are also within walking distance.
The loft is spacious and, despite being in the center of nightlife, still feels quiet and provides a nice place for respite after a full day of sightseeing. Our group was rather large and we were nevertheless afforded a good deal of privacy, since each room has its own bathroom. Also. the terraces are a very nice feature of the space. My family had dinner al fresco one evening and it was just lovely.
In addition to all of this, the visitor services Martin and his group provide are unparalleled. They helped us arrange transportation to and from the airport, connected us with an awesome tour guide named Pia, and stayed in touch throughout our stay, just to make sure we didn't need anything else. This made the whole Rome experience so much better, taking a great deal of stress off our plate so we could just enjoy being there.
Our only remark about what might be missing is dining chairs. Since the space accommodates such a large group, a dining table with only five chairs is a minor oversight.
All in all, we couldn't recommend the Nobleman's Loft more highly.
Thanks a lot for your kind words Brian. We try very hard to make the Loft the prime place in Rome for a large family and we make providing great service and access to wonderful activities and service providers we know very well our distinguishing feature.
As for the chairs - I'm on a mission to find out where all the other chairs were moved to! There should be seating for 12 at the loft as the table can easily accommodate such a group. I think maybe some were borrowed for an event and not returned. I'll make sure we replace them. Thanks for pointing it out!
For groups even larger than what the loft can handle, I'm happy to help organize another lovely apartment - or three! - right nearby. So if you anyone is organizing a wedding in Rome - keep us in mind.

I am a tech entrepreneur with a growing team of top developers helping me develop Vreasy - a novel software platform. Thus I rent out the places I bought with the proceeds from my last software company. The $ I make goes straight into salaries for my employees - engineers, web designers and contractors around the world. I also employ several people (hosts, cleaners, maintenance people) to keep everything running smoothly with the apartments. I like to think I contribute to the economy!
Managing these apartments made me discover that I really like seeing Rome through the eyes of my guests and really like the interaction with so many people from different places around the world. I'm joined by my Sister - a US-trained yoga instructor in Rome. She'll act as your Rome insider and advise you on everything there is to do and see. We're pretty organized as we have Vreasy to help us stay on track.
For those of you whose next stop in Europe is Barcelona - come and visit me! I hop inbetween Bcn and Rome. My office is by the beach in the old part of town. If you love flying join my "Barcelona Seaplane Flyers Club " a share-the-gas-expenses only flying club for which I am the pilot. Lets hop over to Menorca or to a mountain lake.
