  • Had a great stay with Shehan in Colombo and will definitely come back when in town. Rooms have all the comforts one needs. Best of all is Shehan's mother's cooking for which alone it would be worth staying here! thanks Shehan and see you soon!

  • Staying at Shenan & Liz place was the best idea ever to start an amazing solo trip to Sri Lanka.
Having worked on a backpack to Sri Lanka website over the last 2 years Shehan really helped me finalizing the design of my (too short) 12 days stay.
He also has the greatest metered tik-tuk driver to help going in and out of the central bus and train station and to the airport on my very early leave.

Shehan is a great host, and this should be a very pleasant start to anyone kikcing it off with Sri Lanka

  • It was the right decision to stay at Shehan's place. Comfortable and pleasant stay. It is the place you want to have good rest after hectic tours in the city. Great ambiance to experience daily life in Sri Lanka. Shehan was really helpful. You can always contact him if you have problems, especially when the tuktuk driver got lost. He's more than happy to help you giving the best idea to move around the city, especially in Colombo! Was a great experience and I would definitely recommend his place for you!

His mom was so kind to cook for breakfast and dinner! Superb good! It feels like home at Shehan's. I'm pretty sure you'll be instantly hooked with his traveling experience as the conversation goes. Plan less, just book and enjoy Sri Lanka without much expectations in his place.

    You'll like it :)

  • If you’re looking for a cheap place away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Colombo, I definitely recommend Shehan’s home. A word of advice, if you are coming from Colombo Fort station, a metered tuk-tuk should not charge more than 500 LKR. Try to get a tuk tuk with a meter, sometimes they don’t want to turn it on and they say that prices have increased, that they don’t work anymore, etc., this is a lie! Shehan’s mother welcomed us to her house because Shehan was outside of the country, but we had the pleasure of meeting him and even going together to the Perahera Festival on the 14th of February, it was awesome! The room itself is well equipped, ours had a private WC and sink, a desk, ceiling fan, TV and WiFi. They also have a menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but you must ask 1 day before so that they have time to prepare it. Shehan gave us good tips on several things that we needed to buy, and If you need to go somewhere I recommend using a friend of theirs that has a tuk-tuk, he is honest and friendly. Many thanks Shehan!

  • It was the second time we stayed there and we have enjoyed a lot! Clean and big room, good location, friendly and lovely welcome. This place is a must to enjoy a nice stay in Colombo!
Ps: If you come from the airport (or if you have to go to the airport) don't hesitate to take bus 187 to Petah and from there bus 152 until Gothatuwa: it is so easy and very cheap (85 Rs for 1 pers!) compared to a tuktuk (he asked 1000 Rs the first time we get there because he got lost).
Pps: the food there is delicious

  • My friend was traveling to Colombo. And we had 12 hours to figure out a place for her to stay for a couple of days. Liz was very prompt with responding to my request although she and Shehan were traveling in Europe during that period.
Once my friend checked into their place, all I heard from her was how comfortable her stay was & just sweet adjectives. Cheers to Shehan's mother who was extremely hospitable.

  • Shehan and Liz were away, so we were royally looked after by Shehan's mother Neisha. She is an excellent cook and was very helpful with travel information. Our room was clean and large and we had the whole top of the house to ourselves, as no one else was booked at that time. If you choose to stay here, the bus ride to Colombo centre takes an hour each way, as this residence is on the outskirts of the city. The bus fare is only 20 rupees per ride and the bus stop is very close. There is an excellent Chinese restaurant, Nanking House, just up the road.

  • Loved the house and hostess! Room is clean, the food is tasty. The hostess helps to take a tuk tuk, not expensive. The house is quiet, calm. I recommend staying in this house. Hostess for all thanks!

  • We stayed for two nights at Shehan's and Liz's place. Unfortunately we couldn't meet them but Shehan's mum mad every effort to make us feel comfortable. She cooked very delicious Sri Lankian food for us and helped us to plan our journey. We can only recommend this lovely place. Thank you very much for everything, we had a great time in Colombo.
