✨The Moonbeam Bungalow's outside area is the quaint courtyard between the two bungalows. There is also a deck in the woods up a tire stair path that you access from the driveway parking area to go lounge at.

The other bungalow guests have a private outback courtyard with their own hot tub, grill, chill and fire area. So each bungalow has their own separate outside amenities.

NOTE: If both spaces are rented, you may see other guests in passing while on the property.

Guest access
Upon confirmation you will receive a door code, gaining your access to the bungalow for your stay - no need to meet up for a key - with door code you are all set!

Check in is anytime after 4pm unless otherwise arranged- we can typically make this earlier if needed with advanced notice.

NOTE:
There are 2 bungalows on the property and both cabins are rented out separately. However, each bungalow has its own hot tub, grill out& fire areas.

Other things to note
⚠️ Road & Driveway Access
The gravel road leading to Moonbeam Bungalows was damaged during Hurricane Helene but has now been fully repaired.
🚗 4x4 is NOT necessary.

That being said, Moonbeam Bungalows are perched on a mountainside, which means the driveway is very steep (yet mostly paved). No 4x4 is needed, but MOMENTUM IS ESSENTIAL:
• DO NOT STOP while driving UP the driveway
• Continue ALL THE WAY to the flat parking area at the top
• If you stop just before reaching the top, where the pavement turns to gravel, you will likely be forced to back down (Unless you do have AWD or 4X4) — Backing down is doable, but not fun at that grade.

If you are not comfortable or a confident driver, we recommend using one of the alternative parking areas described below.

🅿️ Parking Information
• One vehicle per bungalow may park at the top
• Please park mindfully to allow space for another vehicle to easily pull straight up, park and turn around as well
• If you are the only car up at the top when you arrive please pull or back into the backside of the big blue bungalow
• Do NOT Park front and center of the shed as no one else will be able to access the driveway.
• Never back down the driveway — always take the time to turn around and drive straight down
• When parked properly, there is easily enough room for two vehicles to park and turn around comfortably

Additional Parking Options:

Middle Parking Area
• The grade is tricky to pull into straight here:
• We recommend driving halfway up the driveway and then backing into the middle parking area if you choose to park there

Roadside Extra Parking
• Just past the driveway, you’ll see a pull-off area on the right with a rock retaining wall
• This is Moonbeam Bungalows property and offers plenty of room for extra vehicles or for guests who prefer not to use the driveway or if conditions feel unsafe:
• Check weather in Winter- Any amount of snow or ice on the driveway and it is not safe to use. You must park in the bottom roadside parking area

🔥 Firewood & Grilling
• Firewood can be collected around the property, but split firewood is not provided
• Please only collect wood already down- Never cut down any trees. You may bring a saw to chop up larger branches ( We have a few piles tucked away from the hurricane you are welcome to help us go through)
• Bundles of split wood are usually available at INGLES grocery store and the local Horse Shoe City gas station (5min)
• Please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid if you plan to use the grills and clean out when done using

• NEVER LEAVE A FIRE OR GRILL GOING or SMOLDERING UNATTENDED. Please completely put out before going to bed OR leaving the property.

🧳 What’s Provided

• Linens, towels, soap, shampoo
• Coffee & tea
• Most basic cooking and other essentials
• Flashlight (always handy to have your own just in case)

🌟 Please bring extra towels if you plan to visit waterfalls or are staying longer.

👶 Children & Safety
• Though we do have plenty of families who come enjoy Moonbeam Bungalows- The property and bungalow is not the best set up for children under 10 years old and in no way is the property or bungalow infant or child proof.
• By bringing children of any age to Moonbeam Bungalows, guests assume FULL responsibility for their safety while on the property
• Children are advised not sleep in loft beds or loft areas
• No Children under 10 are allowed in the hot tub - this is for their safety and our maintenance.
• Moonbeam Bungalows assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or injuries (children or adults) during the rental period

🐾 Pets💖
Well-behaved dogs are welcome!
• $20 per dog fee — please leave payment in the pet fee envelope upon departure
• Dogs must be house-trained and friendly
• Please pick up all dog waste and place it next to the garbage cans so it can be put in a larger bag of trash. (Fishing out loose poop bags on trash day is no fun 😝)
• Dogs may not be left unattended unless crate trained and non-barkers
• Dog beds are provided — no dogs in human beds- It is Extremely difficult to get dog hair out of sheets and blankets.
• If there is ANY chance your dog may pee inside, please leave them at home
• Guests are responsible for any additional pet cleaning or damage fees of no less than $100

🌙 Shared Property Note
If both bungalows are rented, you may see other guests in passing. The bungalows are close in proximity and separated by a quaint courtyard.

Though, we truly have the BEST guests — you’re likely to meet kindred spirits or just exchange a friendly wave. However, if you’re seeking complete seclusion, this may not be the best fit.

My work: Massage Therapist
Lives in Horse Shoe, North Carolina
LoViNg LiFe !! I am originally from Up State NY. I instantly fell in love with WNC after moving to Asheville to go to massage school more than a decade ago. Though Moonbeam Bungalows is my never ending art project, I can't take credit for building these two tiny houses. I stumbled upon them in 2008, and a very creative family had just finished building them, yet decided to sell in order to work on other projects....Leaving me with a unique haven to grow and evolve. I lived there for a few years and started Moonbeam Bungalows in 2011, when I needed to move for work. I have poured my heart and soul into making them a magical playground that I feel so blessed to share with so many amazing people! I currently live just up the road, which has been such a pleasure since I get to meet many of the fantastic guests passing through recently. I am a massage therapist & enjoy traveling in my off time... I dream of far away lands and farming... one day ;) I try to eat healthy, play as much as possible and always have fun! Cheers :)
