Dar Ambrosia is a riad (Dar) style house located in the middle of the small seaside medina of Assilah. Spread over three levels, the top terrace is the perfect place to watch the fisherman head out to sea or watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean.

The house is in a quiet alley but only a few steps away from the main trading area of the medina.

The space
The house is designed around a central open courtyard creating a seamless move from indoors to outdoors. There are plenty of spaces to sit, relax, read a book either alone or in a group. The house is an eclectic mix of design elements that make it both intrinsically Moroccan and personal. We have supported local artisans and traders as much as possible to ensure that Dar Ambrosia reflects its location.

There are a total of six generous double bedrooms all with a private bathroom. Two of the bedrooms can be reconfigured into a two single bed option. In addition to the bedrooms there is plenty of space spread out through the house for guests to gather with friends, family and fellow travellers, or to spend some quiet time recharging your soul.

Ground floor: All the rooms lead off the central courtyard with a fountain in the middle. The dining room has been designed to accommodate a house full of people enjoying social evenings and is alongside the kitchen. There are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on this level.

First floor: Three double rooms, all ensuite are on the first floor along with a small lounge area. All the rooms on this level, lead onto an open passageway looking over the courtyard.

Third floor: The third floor leads to an outdoor terrace with seating and an undercover area perfect for summertime breakfasts. There is another bedroom and bathroom on this level completing the total of six bedrooms/six bathrooms.

More terraces: A few more steps up take you to an additional two terraces with plenty space.

DINNER: Can be provided on request. This will need to be done 24 hours in advance and the menu can be done combining your preferences with whatever is in season and available in the market.

The house is centrally located in the medina, set back from the seafront but with great seaviews from the terrace. The front door is on a small gated access lane, but not far from shops etc in the medina. There are two small shops (hanouts) for basics within a few metres.
