10 km from the center of Maastricht. Honthem has its own bus stop Blankenberg! 15 minutes walk from our house. The bus goes to Maastricht, among other places! Or every 15 minutes the other way to Aachen!

More background information:
We live in a mansion in Honthem surrounded by a large
landscape park. On our property (5000m2) where our own country house
we have built only one vacation home.
This was designed by the owner, Pieter Kromwijk (landscape architect)
and is a pearl in the landscape, sustainable and very special.
Luxury and Wellness in a "less is more" look. The cottage
is often published in the better trade journals and magazines and has also been on television. The program BinnensteBuiten of the KRO/NCRV on Ned. 2, showed our wellness house extensively. On request, we can send you the link.
We heat with geothermal energy that we get from our own meadow.
The electricity comes from solar cells on the roof. The vacation home has underfloor heating, which makes it extra cozy. The water in the cottage will be a maximum of 45 degrees. The faucet needs to run for a while before the hot water starts to come out. But the geothermal energy works fantastically.
Honthem is a small village with about 60 houses and is part
of the municipality of Margraten. From Honthem you can take interesting trips.
It also has a bus stop about 15 minutes walking distance. It is in the middle of the Limburg Hills with
Maastricht 7 km away. Also Belgium (Liège or the beautiful Voerstreek)
and Germany (for example, the beautiful old city of Aachen) can be reached within half an hour. Buses run 4 times an hour from the Honthem bus stop to Maastricht and Aachen, among others. It is also a beautiful hiking, cycling and horseback riding area.
Interesting trips can be made directly from the vacation home. In the garden, there is occasionally a sweet Schnauzer dog of 10 years old. Right in front of the vacation home, in the middle of the garden, is the 12-meter-long swimming pool, surrounded by beautiful old fruit trees and a marl wall.
Shared use means that we also swim in it occasionally. The vacation home with its own private sauna and the large terrace in front of it, is exclusively for private use for you as a guest.
Our own house is on the street side. The vacation home is free-standing in the garden/meadow/nature and offers a lot of privacy.
The house has an open Wellness House construction. We do not have a permit for extensive kitchen facilities. Outside the small room with bunk bed and also the toilet, you can't close anything inside. However, there is a separate shower curtain available for private showering if desired.
The house sleeps 6 people. If you are with more people, feel free to ask me about the extra possibilities.

The vacation home with its own sauna is 100% private for the guests.
The swimming pool is also sometimes used by our family but is mostly private to the guests. It is heated with a solar lamella cover. The solar lamellae heat the water by making optimal use of the power of the sun. But they also maintain the temperature of the water. Therefore, the cover is best closed at night and during the day when not in use. Solar lamellae have a transparent top layer and a black underside that - when the cover is closed - absorbs heat, retains it and releases it to the water. Since July 2018, additional heating system was connected to the swimming pool. It is 12 meters long so you can enjoy laps. After September 1, it is usually still good to use and certainly as a plunge pool after the sauna. There is also an electric charging point for the car in our parking lot. And a bike rinse option for cyclists.
Other things to note
The vacation home has a lot of privacy and is therefore also suitable for naturist vacationers. Please let us know in a message, and we will adapt as well.
